Update:
Case closed! GM P—- (am I allowed to post gm names?) restored my access, approx 3:32pm.
What was changed: <expletive> hacker took my entire gem balance and moved my toon to a new server. I’d like my 750 gems back, but whatever…I can deal for now.

Was a long wait, but am in game!

If you’re handling tickets by order recieved, why has ticket #120826-004269 still not been resolved? It’s become very frustrating for the person involved.

Hrrm…
In gfx options, on the “Render Sampling” dropdown… Are you using “supersample” or native?
I saw it switch once while you were changing presets – looked like it went from super to something else.

I can’t run supersampling without lag, personally. I used the ultra/high default, then switch sampling to “Native”.
Also, I used FXAA over the other options.
Could also try turning reflections and shadows to medium – see if that setup helps.

Also, what’s your cpu utilization/temp while the game’s running? Would also be curious to know what your gpu temps are under load, if you don’t mind checking.

and does anyone know if updating a question bumps your ticket even further back in the Queue?

That’s a fair question, and I’ve positively grilled people about that, to make sure that my encouraging folks to update their tickets will not move them back in the queue. I’m told by everyone that the update will not change the order in the queue, but that the extra information in the ticket can make it possible to resolve things in one wave, instead of having to go back, get more info, wait for the update, etc.

So you’re ok to update: It will not change the order in the queue and may help to speed things up.

I have a similar question, apologies if this isn’t the perfect place for it, but:
How can we make sure our tickets are correctly prioritized? At 240hrs in, I have this sinking feeling that mine is misprioritized and I’d really like to do everything I can to help CS help me.

I cannot change the heading/subject, apparently, but it should read:

This ticket is 10 days old as of today.

+10 to firefox/chrome with Adblockplus.
Also, the NoScript addon is very valuable for the same reason. It won’t allow scripts attached to websites to run without your express permission.

I can add to this, for the truly paranoid:

Sandboxed browsing.
http://www.sandboxie.com/ – for info and download. This program is free and will enable you to use your default browser in a sanitary ‘box’. Emptying the sandbox deletes everything that was running in it. That can mean browsing history, or stealth-installed addons or browser-based virus infections…all that. Everything goes back to the state it was in before you started the browser.

Yes I’m frustrated. I’m also insulted that my money seems to be worth less than someone else who wasn’t smart enough to secure their account.

Okay, this pisses me off. Do you know anything at all about how people are getting hacked? Do you really think all these people are clicking phishing emails or using “1234” for their passwords? “Smart” has nothing to do with the hacking issue in a great many cases I’ve seen posted. I realize you’re angry – so am I – but your entire tone is insulting to everyone with an outstanding ticket atm.

Mods, can we get a lock? This isn’t going to end well.

If a password is secure enough, it will take YEARS, often longer than a person’s lifespan, to crack it, unless the RMT gang is using massive clusters of computing resoures (not likely, or they’d be doing other things with their time besides trying to hack into mmo accounts).

Actually, it’s VERY likely they’re using a botnet (e.g. cluster). It’s also quite likely that they’ve figured out the algorithym being used to generate pwd reset URLs. That, combined with scraping google for email addresses, would enable to them script pwd reset attempts. For example: Script grabs an email address from a flat-file list, tries it against the reset web form, then uses the algorithym to generate a probable match to the URL being mailed to that email address. Script then tries the URL. If successful, URL loads in a browser. From there, ownership is an email change away.

What gets me is this: How could they login to the actual game from someone’s account WITHOUT resetting the pwd? I got no pwd reset emails. I was in-game, logged out to reboot my system and when I tried to log back in, I was banned. The only way my account could’ve been compromised is brute force, or possibly by lifting session token information and either dissecting it for info or passing it back to the servers intact. I could probably construct an elaborate scenario as to how that could be done…but if it IS being done, <expletive> is well and truly passed the fan and is currently all over the walls.

Unfortunately, if you purchased your copy more than 30 days ago, your CC company may not allow you to charge-back. Ask me how I know…

I actually bought a CE physical copy to upgrade my digital with (didn’t get a pre-purchase code from the retailer and wanted beta access)…but I haven’t even opened it. Boxed-up on the floor it’s useless…but at least it’s safe from being stolen.

Was perma-banned for “advertising an inappropriate website” – I don’t even advertise LFG, so I know I didn’t advert for an RMT site. Logged-out of game on 8/27 to relog, could not log back in. Immediately changed account password and pwd to email address. Was told 8/31 that I should be able to login again – could not. Launcher still tells me I’m permanently banned. Updated original ticket. Was told ticket was being escalated. No further word.

First, thank you for bringing the support forums online (!!).

Now for the novel:
8/27 – I was suspended. I had no idea why. Googled for five minutes, saw rumors of hacking attempts and promptly changed all my passwords (guild wars, email, etc). Checked my email for signs of compromise – clean. Scanned PC for virus/malware – Clean. Submitted a support ticket (120828-003070) to ask why I was banned. Two or three days later, launcher ban messaged was changed to “Permanently banned for advertising an inappropriate site”. Well, I know full well I didn’t do that…so, I updated my ticket to reflect it.
9/3 – read on wiki that “We have now completed prioritized requests submitted prior to Sunday, September 2. If you have an older ticket for a hacked account or blocking login issue that has not been completed, that means it’s not correctly prioritized. Submit a new ticket using the above instructions…”
Did so (120904-002099) with all info as outlined in status post and links thereon.

Is there any chance at all that I can have someone look at this? I’ve really tried to be patient, but…8 days… end of my rope, etc. Please have a look at the tickets – willing to provide whatever else you need to get this one moving.
