Kusaku, you are not alone.
I have just logged on for the first time this weekend ready to play this evening and can do absolutely nothing.
ping either reads 0/0 or 4k~ .
As far as it is concerned, Guild Wars 2 is essentially dead weight on my computer. A massive shame as I have not only pre-ordered HoT but I pre-ordered the ultimate edition.
I have not been able to play for a week as of today.
So Tech Support, what are your recommendations? Do I uninstall and request a refund? Or do I wait hopelessly for at least some recognition of their being a problem with the vain hope that effort is being made to sort it?
Beyond frustrated
Edit: For the record, I can play every single other game and stream every online video without a SINGLE issue.

Hi, its been a week now.
I still cannot play gw2 but all other games run flawlessly.
I sort of wanted to prepare for the incoming expansion, please at least look into this or give us a sign?
Same here in Buckinghamshire. I can play every other game, all downloads, uploads no issues whatsoever.
As it stands there seems little point in me pre-purchasing as I can’t play any of my characters.
With all due respect, this promotes even more brain-dead play. The counter to projectile reflecting is to melee or wait it out. Reflections often have relatively short durations and/or are static and can be flanked around. The further promotion for rangers to spam #2 from a distance has the potential to actually be detrimental to the development of the class as a whole.
I run HGH rifle FT on one of my engineers.
it is extremely effective to roam with, solid in small group too.
Wolfineer runs a similiar (perhaps the same?) spec to me and has videos showcasing its viability.
It has a nice burst on it and very strong control.
0/30/0/30/10
this is what i run (complete with super cheap food. and only amulet / rings ascended from badges/laurels)
I play in Gandara and PvP has been scarce this week due to AM and GH running away from anything they dont outnumber 5:1.
I could say the same of Gandara peeps.
I’ve seen some necros from Gandara using it today, but the way AM is using it is kittened, 60+ men zergs with 20+ necros inside.
Funny thing: a couple hours ago this happened:
0:17, I shout in /map chat: AM zerg at Wurm, going bay.
0:18: was lost.
Sure, it was wooden. But 90 seconds from the wurm to a full Bay cap is a world record.
it sucks!

The difference is blob size, and the bigger the blob the more of these bug abusing necros you find. Ive seen Gandara use this signet too (zzzzz) but is it any surprise to you, really is it?
There is no supply game, no tactical ploys, no responding to scouts because there is either no point or not enough time for it to make a shred of difference when a T3 keep can be back-to-back signet spammed down before any response can be made.
It’s bad news folks
Hi Leeto, thanks for the build and videos, very informative
I love the soul marks / mark of evasion sustain and the build in general has a nice appeal.
I have made one alteration to the traits for my own play style…
Ive taken 10 from spite and added it to blood for Quickening Thirst… I agree completely that combat control from dagger is unmatched and found the added healing and damage from Vampiric stacks up quite fast in a pvp environment. I also have just got a habit of ensuring that I have 25%+ speed available to me at all times, particularly for melee classes and i definitely feel that SWalk is too good to be used for a simple swiftness buff. It just plays better to me this way and the +100 vit adds to the lifeforce pool nicely.
I have also had a go at translating the build into a wvw setup where we unfortunately dont have access to Settlers stats.
I do value toughness to a certain level in wvwvw as i feel it necessary for small group play and it helps the necromancers less than outstanding mobility.
Lyssa runes are imo, just the greatest for power necromancer with golem.
Let me know what you think, but this is MY take on the build you gave me
So.. thanks i guess.
Sigil of bloodlust on the staff would be complemented by a second energy post changes
(edited by Vaught.5198)
you must take in the 10% recharge on toolbelt skills also and that enduring damage is always up on initial burst, where as modified ammunition is something that builds power later in the fight…. it adds zero damage with zero condis on the target. as does target the maimed.
the potential damage is great and it shines in pve encounters against world / dungeon bosses, but the reality is that unless your necro buddy with signet of spite is planting them on your targets Modified ammo is lacklustre in a pvp environment.
you need to think practically as well as mathematically
Hi….. misleading title.
What you have here is essentially a weaker static discharge build that doesnt go 30 in tools for obvious frequency of burst, misses out on Enduring Damage, forgoes the essential utility of the tool kit, does not pick up rifle cooldown reduction (20% more immobilizes via rifle 2 dismissed),
in exchange for
a zero damage immobilize on a 38second cd.
a 4 second burn with 300 condition damage.
2 130 range (delayed) knockbacks.
lacks fury outside of single stunbreak (loses out on inertial converter affecting heals)
No access to swiftness (no kits used to swap)
Recommendations:
Lose Modified Ammo – each time you hit you have a 1/2 chance of that being a crit, then 1/3 of those will make them bleed. for 1 condition, burning = 2 conditions, and crip / immob / vuln = 5 conditions that MIGHT be up for maybe 10% damage.
Gain mobility.
Gain Fury.
I just think its an inferior build to the standard SD burst build. Sorry! good effort though
yeah its not worth it for the build im running… you know im kind of excited about this.. have needed something to spur my interest up for a while
Revised approach to dual swords with better cover conditions, and more pressure.
my concern with this is the lack of interrupt :/
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAscTjkOpwtQyQMxBEMDNsKOPSilg80HmDA-TsAgyCqI4SxljLDXSus1M6Y1xECA
im contemplating subbing in stomp for berzerker stance, its an aoe launch that i can combo on the fire field and another stunbreaker, I already have adren access due to elite and sword 5 and high adren generation due to furious. 33% less cc duration from dogged march and cleansing ire help with condis… Stomp could be quite useful
(edited by Vaught.5198)
thats great feedback thanks a lot… ive worried about those points! ive used doom on an elementalist for quite good results.. thats a good note.
with distracting strikes, how good is it? i cant see any interrupt with dual sword / longbow.
so maybe thats not worth regarding
thats probably how i would build a sword/hammer warrior too. i just like the longbow in this particular build
hmm.. due to the trait setup the build runs permanent fury due to sword 1, sword 2, sword burst, bow 5 and so its sitting at 50% crit 100% of the time.
due to the hybrid nature of the sword / bow abilities, going rabid would kill a lot of the frontloaded pressure and add zero condi damage outside of a few more crit bleeds.
2500-2600 armour is enough, i think you are right about healing signet though, its so powerful and with 210 healing power its ticking for 400 a secong before adrenal healths returns as well. I would swap that in, also potentially swapping the crit sigil for a bloodlust.
hey thanks for the speedy feedback, im really aware of the power of the hambow but its just not my cup of tea… I just dont get much reward out of a playstyle like that regardless of the points on the screen.
i have definitely toyed with the idea of sword/sword, if that was the case id swap shield mastery for dogged march… still though, the warrior shield is a great piece of kit, gap closer, stun, block, its nice for setting up a sword burst or dropping bow field. and currently the only interrupt on the bar.
Hello all,
after a very long time of not really being all that interested in warriors for all kinds of reasons namely over representation, gimmicky and a being bit too 2-dimensional
I have considered a conditional approach to the tpvp warrior.
I love the iconic look of a sword and shield and its something I have lacked thus far in gw2.
I want to avoid using the rifle and the longbow matches quite well with the visual setup i want.
I have considered a few builds but this is the one i liked the look of, a sort of hybrid.
lmk what you think and if you have any pointers, in fact im completely new to playing warriors so i will take all criticism on board.
Also if anyone would like to give me the lowdown on conditional warrior in pvp at the moment that would be brilliant, ive not seen too many ( doesnt bode well!) but im willing to go with this for a bit.
Here is the build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAseTjkOpwxQuQ4QCCkirUlzjksEyrKMnUBxA-TsAgyCqI4SxljLDXSus1MqYVxECA
Remember this is alpha beta version zero point one.
Cheers!
Edited: Changed 2 things on build.

That’s cute, he’s also the only ele to make it to the finals in a meta that’s unforgiving for eles in general.
They would have beaten TP if Mogwog wasn’t weighing them down. Even an average necro would have pushed them over the top.
I realize you’re riding the guy’s jock, but I was actually pointing out that it doesn’t matter how good the player is when the spec is that bad. A burst ele is a liability to his team and it was made abundantly clear by how much time Mogwog spent on the ground.
In PvP they don’t have names for wvw players because they simply don’t care.
debatable, they might not have made it to the finals without mog’s contributions in earlier rounds.
In the final TP shut mog down hard, which yeah, cost them the tournament. Im not going to pretend that they couldnt have swapped him out for a spirit ranger and probably won but it still doesn’t take away from individual skill which Mog definitely has. This is was what I was saying when I said “mog has found success using 2 arcane utilities.” Riding his jock? sure whatever, I appreciate a skilled player, if that’s a bad thing sue me.
The reason water and arcana feel mandatory are because of the important stats on top of nice traits.
Lowest hp bracket=need more vitality and heals= water
All builds need swapping=intelligence=arcana (except for fresh air and burst builds)The line would still feel as mandetory tbh, this is just nerfing EA, which I feel competes with elemental surge fairly well as it is.
Who in their right mind would take Elemental Surge over Evasive Arcana…?
It’s better than EA when running arcane wave and power.
trying to fit 2 arcanes in your utilities already makes it worse.
mogwow plays 2 arcanes and that guy is undoubtedly one of the best players in europe.
He uses them in his S/D build to great effect vs Team paradigm in the recent european tour finals.
Is Mogwog the ele who got downed 40+ times against TP in the EU qualifier finals? He was more of a detriment to his team than a help. In WvW we call players like that “rally bait” because that’s about the extent of their contribution.

Hey.
Running a 10/0/30/30/0 build
Sword/Torch
Axe/Dagger
Healing Spring
Storm Spirit
Sun Spirit
Earth Spirit
Spirit of Nature
Any ideas on the best way for me to get mobility other than “use a warhorn”?
thanks!
theirs, 99% sure.
i know protection boon duration is based this way
It’s the same with Frost spirit’s cold snap. I tried to increase the chill duration but it seems to be always 5s.
well… thats not cool. :/
Bump
you have NO idea really what is coming. Always play the game of today, you can miss out on a lot of fun worrying about the future and what could or could not be.
Honestly, if you are having fun, buy the trinkets
Hey there.
the Sun spirit has a base burn duration of 3 seconds.
with 10% condition duration traited.
with 10% burning duration sigil
with 15% burning duration rune
total = 35% burn duration.
it SHOULD be a 4 second burn no?
tested it multiple times in pvp and i seem to be only getting 3 ticks…. can anybody explain to me what the problem is? Do spirits not benefit from condition duration? i know that the boons work off the boon duration of whomever procced each skill.
Thank you
jump shot pull is a good combo, also due to no safe stomp, cancelling and using gear shield to deny the interrupt before re-stomping is useful too.
some people like the buffer. there is more to gw2 than dodging dungeon mechanics!
woah Dave..
best ive seen.
could i get a dye/item breakdown? thanks!
the super nail gun from quake please….. please.
TL:DR version.
Everyone is rolling with rocks in a world of scissors and they dont like this paper trait.
thank you both, heartbroken engineer here :’(
this makes me really, really sad
id love the skin…. I hope there is still a way.
yeah, that trait line needs a work around with regards to turrets.
The grandmaster trait idea is ok but needs some help.
I think what a lot of the community would like to see is…
Automotive Turrets.
Turrets are bound to the engineer and follow his/her movement. Over-charging Turrets grants vigor and protection to nearby allies for x seconds.
The Iron Price [TAKE]
About the build: I really like it.
It’s fun and seems pretty versatile. But do you know your 2 sigils share their cooldowns? If one procs, the other can’t till that cooldown is finished.
You are absolutely right, was unchanged from a previous carrion spec, it is now corruption glyph.
Thank you for your positive feedback, it performs well indeed.
Hello all, long time reader and first time poster.
After recently rekindling my interest in GW2, I have been brought back to the class that I find to be the most enjoyable and in my opinion, the class with the potentially highest skill ceiling.
I have exclusively played the class in a bunker format and after many changes have explored the strong points of an engineer and also the areas in which it lacks.
I believe in a tpvp setting, engineers fit the role of a point defender well, and in stark contrast to the powerful fortress that is the guardian.. the engineer offers a different outlook:
A skilled engineer is a pretty scary prospect to come up against.
Why?
Because we just have so many tools that i feel are still relatively misunderstood by the majority of the player base and because engineers have irritatingly good sustained damage in a condition environment.
With so much focus on control in a bunkers arsenal finding the right balance of effective health and stoicism annnd CC can be a difficult task, especially if the engineer hopes to dissolve any point threat too.
The build I have put together offers familiar useful abilities combined with a solid trait line to create a hybrid of engineering utility.
The prototype title I have given this build is because of the range of ability classes it uses, encompassing all of the engineers arsenal. A kit, elixir (sort of!), Gadgets and turrets.
The Build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIqqbnry3F1LJRIFF2wgKUfRK0f+/ogt0F;ToAg1CpogxAjAGrPOfk+MqYuA
Because of the nature of gw2 pvp, players tend to create a checklist when assessing a character build. This is usually as follows:
- Does the character have a stun breaker?*
- Does the character have effective condition removal?*
- Does the character have mobility?*
- Does the character have balanced core statistics?*
- Can the character use crowd control reliably?*
- Can the character kill anything?*
The build in review:
The build has a solid stunbreaker in rocket boots that complement the lack of OH shield to offer a hefty 6 second burn on a short cooldown. Strong damage and in tpvp, a legitimate choice.
Condition removal via HT overpower is not enough, in this build the newly buffed Super Elixir offers fantastic utility when point holding to supplement condition removal with Transmute.
Critical hits offer both swiftness and vigor reliably to the point that they are going to be up for 75%+ of combat. The high crit rate applies both damage in this buid through multiple crit procs but also to utility. Vigor is still underrated. Why? it makes you invulnerable twice as much.
This build rocks with 2.4k toughness and 20k hp. 50% crit and 1400power/1kcond. With infinite regeneration available, two sources of protection, 5 blast finishers to activate frequent water fields and Super Elixir to boot, the potential for survivability is high.
Crowd control is high in this build. Net turret offers consistent immob and the overcharge is an effective stun, shield stun, a shield knockback and 2 explodable turrets on a short cooldown that knockback create quite the headache to point attackers.
This build can kill well, Rampager trinket offers a balanced damage approach to the pistol, a balanced weapon. Runes allow 3 second tick bleeds and complement with 2 proc bleeds and a proc burn and rocket kicks mean that enemies get shredded very quickly should they make mistakes. Pistol blind is very effective on defence too.
The idea of this build is to utilise what the class has available to it in the best possible way to get a task like bunkering done effectively.
Please let me know what you guys make of it, im interested in both positive and negative feedback.
Thanks,
Vaught
