JQ would love you guys to come join us
Thanks for the tips everyone. I will put these to the test and let you know if I have any further issues.
Having trouble fighting several mobs lower level than me at a time. Very frustrating.
Running a GS/Staff. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I feel like I am fine with solo targets, although I have a hard time killing vets my level and obviously above. But I think it is AoE damage I am struggling with.
Any tips for a Mesmer noob?
Power lvling is easy do all the starter zones, log into wvw when the zergs are running and your personal story.
Thats pretty much the standard power lvling routine.
In that exact order?
10 gold.
Like a boss.
WvW is tough at lower levels. Especially when you go 1v1 someone who is actually 80 because with the gear difference you won’t stand a chance. I would recommend staying with zergs to increase the chances of survivability. I prefer D/D & SB but have not messed around with other weapon combos too much. Mostly bleed build also.
Thnks for the tips guys. Thanks even more for links to builds. I will try these and see what I can do with them. It may be a while until I get full exotic gear though.
Does anyone have a good idea for a build for camp flipping/NPC flipping? I have searched through at least 20 different builds while Googling but I think I want something more specific and have mainly come across bursty glass cannon builds. Not sure if that is the best setup for what I am looking for, or is it?
EDIT: Forgot to mention, most of the builds that I have come across were created in October. Hasn’t the Thief had a good number of nerfs since then?
This!
Yes. I have experienced this since day one of playing. It is so frustrating and I am sure we’re not the only ones. Although this was posted 19 days ago and no one was said “this is happening for me too” until now.
:/ I really hope this gets fixed.
Ok, sound good. Exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you. Just didn’t know if it was worth it to the invest the time that I do have on a vanity event or not.
:)
Just curious if it is worth investing time in doing Wintersday events. My main is level 72 and it seems like I won’t get much reward as opposed on focusing on obtaining level 80. But if the rewards are more than cosmetic I will give it a shot.
Is it worth it for a (main character) level 72 to partake in these events? If so what are the advantages? Can I get some loot that isn’t just cosmetic?
Thanks.
Seriously, that was very appreciated. Communication has been good thus far from you ANet. Good job.
:)
I hope it is not dead in my server because I am about to hit 70 on my main and Orr seems like a lot of potential good times.
Yes, sure it is possible. Why wouldn’t it be?
It’s the way I traint my alts: do 1-15 in open world, 15-35 with crafting and then start doing AC for exp and help friends in other dungeons until 80.To answer the rest of your questions:
AC will stay the easiest xp, with a good (and experienced) team CM can be doable as well. Other dungeons that can be run very fast without much experience are CoF 1 and 2. SE path3 isn’t too difficult either, but it takes a bit more time.
And dungeon xp for AC won’t lower because you reach ‘too high’ level, it will always stay ~75% of you current level.
Ah-ha, so since it’s always 75% of my level it seems like with a solid group this WOULD be the quickest way to level up!
Thanks.
Thanks for your input Jay but I am still looking to see which dungeons is the most efficient/fastest way to grind out to 80.
Just wondering if it was possible to “dungeon grind” my way up to 80? I am currently level 57. I am asking because it seems to be (when the group is solid) a very good way to gain levels, loot, etc.
If it is possible, what is the best way to do it? I’ve so far only done AC and CM. CM was a pain in my butt, however it seems like AC is still giving me pretty dang good XP. Does the XP amount drop off a lot after a certain level? In other games it seems like you cannot grind the lower level dungeons when you are higher level, at least not for adequate XP.
I am just trying to figure out the most efficient way to do it. Not that I do not want to see the game in all its glory – there will be much time for that – I just want to see end game.

Confirmed. Two months and no fix. Fix this please!
Thanks for the fix!
Personally, I feel like the level cap was too small, plus the fact EXP needed is so little…and that’s been the primary factor as to why people reach level 80 so quickly, regardless of whether they rush there (like a typical WoW-style player would), or take their time (like I did, and reached 80 within a week).
I’ve been playing 2-3 weeks and I am only level 37. I’m taking my time for sure. We all have our different paces and of course not all of us pour the same amount of time into the game. But still. Reaching 80 in a week seems like a rush to me.

I think the idea is meh, but even if it was doable it would require way too much work for them to implement it.
BTW, I am absolutely loving the Caltrops and Ambush utilities for taking mobs and whatnot out. Very effective. My third utility is Shadow Refuge in case I need to get the heck out of dodge.
But yeah, I would still like a good build to follow if you guys have any for me. I am about to hit 30 and re-spec to something more condition based.
Sounds good. Do you guys have a link to a build possibly that I could follow with traits mostly?
I have not even been using Sigils. So I will try to invest in those. Also, isn’t there a trait that drops caltrops on dodge? Wouldn’t that be better so I can free up a utility slot for something else that can help me out?
Thanks so much for the advice everyone. I have a lot of catching up to do in how I play/build my Thief.
:)

Level 23 Thief here. First time playing through the game. I am finding that I struggle with taking down multiple mobs, even some lower than me. My gear is mostly around level 15 so I am not sure if that is a huge difference maker or not. I am typically running D/D and Shortbow.
My traits are specced into Shadow Arts currently. I feel very squishy and I am sick of dying to mobs lower than me. I am not new to MMOs, so this isn’t a L2P thing. But before I spend any coin to respec traits or buy any weapons (again this is my first play-through so I am not made of gold) I would like to know suggestions on the best builds for leveling.
Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Bump!
Still need more members!
Ace Ventura, lol!
Kudos to you for getting the reference. :]
So JQ commanders. Here are two confirmed incidents involving some thiefs on your servers getting into the Sunnyhill base while it is secured. The guy in my pic, Myself and 3 others watched him attempt another entry via the rear entrance after the pic/post. Same guy, same situation. Please address this as best you can with your players.
SBI commanders, keep watch for our guys doing this if its happening on our side and squash it. We don’t need dishonor among the ranks of the top 3 servers. Thanks guys for working with us all on this.
Where are the pics?

The Wachootoo Tribe [Choo] is a laid back, battle ready, community involved gaming group. Founded by Veetus on a WoW private server, it underwent a series of changes: deviating from being one of the top guilds the private server had to offer — to a new uprising guild in Guild Wars 2. Bound by the mutual love for online gaming and utmost respect for each other, the guild will stand firm and stay strong in the years to come.
The guild is a blend of both casual and hardcore to experience the best out of interaction and competition. This also ensures that any type of player can be a part of our circle, and that whether we accept them or not depends entirely on how they present themselves to us. The Wachootoo Tribe is more than just a guild. We are a community and family of sorts — we like to give just about anyone a chance to become a part of our team.

These ideas are truly fantastic.
Let’s hope some may get implemented!
Same. Wanting an answer on this as well.
I see the option to invite a friend but when I click the page when logged in its just blank. Is there a reason why?
Just wondering if it would be possible to transfer a guild along with my character? Or can guilds not be moved, even if I am the guild master?
I have friends in Jade Quarry which is why I bought the game, and it says the server is full. As I understand I need to catch the server at an off-peak time…does anyone know when that might be?
Also, another question, if I go play on another server and let’s say a few hours later on tonight I go and check and see if JQ is open and if it is – can I transfer? Or do I have to wait 7 days on day 1, today being day 1.
Thanks for all your help in advance!

Hey everyone. New player here. I am thinking of making a Thief, and I know the “common” choice would be to go with a smaller in size character like a Asura, but I was wondering if it really makes that big (no pun intended) of a difference on the battlefield? Being “bigger”?
Also, are the racials really that important? If so, would the Norn racial abilities serve me well in PvP?
Thanks,
