What’s wrong with pushing people to try new things?
What you’re essentially asking is what’s wrong with pushing people to play the game in a way that may not interest them.
Why not just enable open-PvP in the PvE zones? What’s wrong with pushing people to try new things?
You realize the daily quest is optional, yes?
Zakk and Obfuscate both had great advice. (Thus saith, Meccal…)
I also highly suggest a using a thesaurus – unless such verbalisms invariably matriculate to your preponderous vocabulary.
Example of Thesaurus:
- Doctor Mopp does not sound quite as good as Mopp the Sophisticate.
OR you can create your own position/specialty/description from scratch.
To create a new fantasy/scifi position or specialty:
- Take the root of a word you like
(e.g. crystal, blaze, night)- Add a magical or sciencey suffix
(e.g. crystal-mancy, blaze-ry, night-ography)- Add a prefix, or not
(e.g. crystalmancy, in-blazery, ag-nightography)- Personal nounify the word.
(E.G. Crystalmancer, Inblazerifer, Agnightographer)To create a new description, simply play with adjectives, real and fake:
(E.g. Mopp the Indecimal, Mopp the Insufferable, Mopp the Bloodiforious, Mopp the Expansional, Mopp the Intellectorious.)Have fun naming your Asurans, bookahs!
- Meccal
(with no descriptor, but if I had one it would be Genuistical or Exceptionalatorius!)
Crap, now I almost want to add something creative to my Asura names. kitten you Meccal!
shinies and playing with friends
Oh, and I like hitting things really hard with a hammer since I’m unable to do that in my 9-5 job.

You’d have to be extremely dense to actually believe a game company is purposefully making your life miserable.
In what reality is that good business? What could possibly be their motivation for intentionally causing these issues?
I don’t understand why people can hate on something like this so hard? It’s just groups of people having fun and being stupid. What’s not to like?
This one was much better than most. I still like the Swedish army one the best though.
I love the T3 cultural heavy armour, just got mine yesterday:
How do you put up with the massive clipping?
Or more importantly: How do you put up with looking like this in cutscenes?
How does it look with the shoulders hidden?
I’d love for it to be added, but it needs to be an engaging activity
account bound dyes is not. going. to. happen.
it was an intentional change during beta from account bound to character bound.
Some of the ears do look pretty stupid when pointed up though, they should really show you what they look like in the CC.
I’ll be around for a long, long time.
Asking this question this early in the game’s launch window is not great timing. You’re just in time to see all the content locusts rage quitting and “taking all their friends with them.”
The game is great. PVE is fun, PVP is a blast and every class is fun to play.
It’s a bother because you want your character to look like how you want them to look. In game you can hide the helm and shoulders, there’s no reason why that shouldn’t carry forward to the character selection screen.
Why is this simple suggestion getting so much flak?
1. this feature has been in since BWE3 and you somehow didn’t notice it?
2. most warrior helmets don’t hide the ears
3. your ears pointing up is the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen?
No bookahs allowed
so many people go for the skinny builds, it’s the body builder physique that’s where its at (males at least). it makes your gauntlets HUGE and the proportions seem so much better.
These were such great features, we really need them back.
dont raise it. 500 is just fine
I fail to see how upping the maximum affects anyone in a smaller guild. What possible reason could you have for opposing this?
It’s definitely more than 8, that’s how many I have.
There’s nothing like insulting everyone who tries to help you to stimulate discussion.
try dual axes, they’re a lot of fun. also the greatsword, rifle and longbow are all good for damage. the hammer is good for control and the shield is good for defense, obviously
It was pretty buggy in certain situations. A lot of time the water didn’t render itself correctly, or the screenshots didn’t line up correctly (I think it basically took a bunch zoomed in screenshots and then blended them together to get such a high resolution).
I just hope it comes back soon.
It just hit me that you’re probably the Ganadorf from the swtor forums. Glad to see you’re still as miserable as ever.
The user reviews on metacritic are actually more accurate than you may believe.
They are not there to provide in depth reporting on each and every thing they love or hate but rather to give the general public an idea of current opinion.
It works flawlessy for that very reason. A “0” or “10” score is perfectly acceptable if you understand the the underlying motivation. I like it or I dont like it. Makes no difference what number you put down as a rating as it still serves as a scale for what is liked or not.
Looking at individual scores and comments is not the way it is intended to work, but with thousands it paints a good picture.
I guess. The inherent problem is that the majority of people who go to those types of sites are there to gripe because they don’t like it, while most people that enjoy the game are actually playing it. It’s not a great sample to begin with to draw conclusions from.
When I see that SWTOR is rated in the 5’s while the professionals review it in the upper 8’s, that just tells me that most people are morons, not that the game is actually that bad. I don’t buy into this conspiracy theory crap that professional reviewers are paid off to review games positively. Maybe if their opinions differed significantly from my own that would be one thing, but I almost always agree with their scores.
On the flip side, GW2 is critically acclaimed AND the user review is pretty high as well, which tells me that it must be good if the cesspool that is the internet can rate the game that high.
Their animations are second to none. I love the greatsword and dual axe animations for my warrior, and how a ranger hap-hazardly throws axes, and how they almost fall over when running, and how they carry their greatswords on their shoulders like they weigh more than they do, but then flip around like Yoda when doing HB.
T3 is my favorite heavy armor set in the game. I could do without T1 or T2.
All 3 tiers of the light cultural armor are amazing though. And I LOVE the T2 and T3 medium armor.
Look at critic Vs player score for SW:TOR on metacritic (85 Vs 5.7) . Also do the same for The Secret World (73 Vs 8.3) GW2 stands at 8.4 for players, only just above TSW .
You have to experience a game for yourself, you simply can not go by a review to know if YOU would like it or not. A review is simply the view of the reviewer and their take on it.
You can’t really trust the user ratings because, let’s face it, the majority of people on the internet are are complete imbeciles. For the entire launch period of SWToR, metacritic was filled with scores of zero from users just because they were waiting in a queue to get in to play.
The actual critics may be somewhat biased, but that’s to be expected. Not everyone will agree with everyone. It doesn’t mean that they’re being bribed to review it positively, it just means their opinion differs from your own.
Any chance we could get even a “it’s being worked on” response? I’d just like to know that it is coming back eventually because it was a pretty awesome feature.
The best thing about warriors isn’t that they faceroll stuff (though they do, let’s be honest), it’s that there’s SO MUCH VARIETY in the way they can be played.
I did the GS for the first 30 levels, got bored and now I’m swapping between dual axe and axe/shield. They’re both fun and a lot different than the GS was. Next I’ll probably go hit things with a hammer for a while.
Yes, I"M CHOOSING. And, while playing, we all can be getting to know each other. Getting to know if I like them or not, for whatever reasons. So, for the next time I go looking for a group, I can open the group finder window and say, humm I really enjoyed playing with that guy, or no, he was a pain, I want to avoid any groups with him….
I mean, think about it…you want something that does it for you. So, if you get thrust together with someone who just brings the group down, you have a choice. Suck it up and deal with a less than desireable group experience or be forced to leave and try again.
Whereas my suggestion, puts the control back into your hands. You can hand pick who you group with. If you have bad experience with player 1, you can just not ask him to join or not invite him if he whispers you.
I mean I offered, what I feel, is a good middle ground. It is more than spamming chat channel, but it is not so hand-holding antisocial as lfd.
I at least offered a solution.
Yeah I agree, it’s a good compromise. Hopefully it would work better than it did in SWToR, as that’s basically the same system they had in place at launch and literally nobody used it
Please don’t add a dungeon finder, searching a group works perfectly fine.
This is like saying: please don’t give me a car, I can walk to work just fine.
Not even close.
Dungeons finder is a garbage idea. This isn’t WoW.
Are you under the impression that WoW is the only game with a dungeon finder?
I never said I want anything, so I don’t have to admit to anything. I am just offering some middle ground…offering a solution instead of being a whiny crybaby saying gimmie gimmie, i need, i need.
And this is a group finder that the player still has some control over. Control over who they play with.
This is an massively multiplayer game after all, forbid if you have to actually talk to other players. The horror. And with what you want, you’re still forced to play with strangers, but with no control over who those strangers are. And if it ends up cross server, it would force people to play with players who have no sense of accountablity, so they end up acting like jerks.
Again, no control over any of it. No server community. Just a game filled with self entitled people who can act and do whatever they want with no consequences.
Ah I see, but still, you’re “choosing” random strangers. I’m personally all for a LFD as long as it is restricted to your own server.
No dungeon finder. Just a simple window that would go something like this.
name —- lvl(?) —- looking for
player 1 —- 42 —- AC (S), AC(E)
player 2 —- 40 —- AC (E)
player 3 —- 28 —- DEThis will be server wide list, not zone wide, so you can go out any where in the world and see and be seen by everyone on YOUR server. Then you just have to click on the name, send a whisper if they are looking to do what you are and form groups. Without spamming chat, and without ‘groups are hard, make one for me’ LFD that people are talking about here.
You keep social interaction this way. And keeping it server only means how you act, behave and play will grant you reputation among the server community. Making people accountable for how they act. If you act like a jerk, you will gain that rep and soon find yourself unable to get groups as easily. If you act respectful, helpful, good player, you will be known for that.
So you basically want a dungeon finder, just without the actual system so you don’t have to admit that you want a dungeon finder. The only difference between what you want and a dungeon finder is that the dungeon finder automatically forms the group instead of forcing you to message strangers.
I wanted “Daphne” and “Rose” for potential sylvari characters, and I was there waiting for the game to go live so I could grab them. They were both taken within 2 minutes of the servers going up…
I meant the OP
were you there trying to get it the first second the head start opened up? if you were and still didn’t get it, that sucks, but a name like that will be gone in seconds.
I missed out on Wit Was so sad

Norn should be able to pick up asura players and throw them as projectiles

only if we get to bite your ankles
and so it begins
There’s no way they’ll offer a race change since your personal story is tied to your race. A way to change the look of your character should be in the cards though.
Start the game with the -bmp switch and you get high res BMP screenshots
That’s not what we’re referring to. In BWE2 and prior, there was an option to take screenshots in vastly higher resolutions than your screen. We want that back, as soon as possible please
give me polearms and I’d be happy as a clam.
Easy decision. Look at their cultural armor and weapons, base your race choices on that.
IMO, the best racial armors are asura t3 heavy, asura t2 medium and asura t3 light, as well as norn t3 light and t3 heavy.
I just hope that it’s soon. If it’s going to be a year from now or even more than a month or two, that’s too long for me.
it’ll most certainly be longer than a month. why not have your friend re-roll an alt to play with you if that’s his primary reason for being bored? just do different races and zones while you level back up.
Shadowz i feel for ya man, i have the same problem. I’m now level 32 with my elementalist but i’m starting to question how much i like the class :/
The thing is the first 30 levels are really boring to me, there are basicly 3 armor sets and i’m kind of person that wants variation from armor skill builds etc.
Use the destroyed economy on the TP to your advantage. Take 50s and buy every level 1-79 skin for your class you want and then transmute it onto lower level gear. Boom, insta pimped out character.
Because they were pretty much awesome and the screenshots I take now pale in comparison. I want to see my asura in all his hi-res glory.
bored with game, re-rolls human. lol.
Get the spear out of underwater and into the 2 handed category where it should be.
Elementalist – Flame Spren
I can’t seem to figure out how to hotlink on this forum, bummer
