In honor of Deadpool’s passing today, I suggest chimichangas be added to the game.

You know, it has always struck me as an odd choice to transform your race into a substance your enemy animates into minions. I have a feeling when we do get to Primordus, Destroyer Dwarves will be leading his frontline.

I can understand why ele summoned weapons do not work. They create interactive objects that change your primary attacks with land based attacks. They would have to have different summoned weapons for under water, and the you would have to figure out how to target the second weapon spawn under water too. The guardian summoned weapons are AI controlled summons. The Ele summons do not go into the water because I do not think any elementals go in the water. Why? I do not know.

3D combat works more point-to-point. I expect the combo fields work by checking to see where on the x-axis other objects are and triggering if they overlap. In underwater/midair situations the code now would have to check to make sure its in the right z axis. While some attack animations may have a z axis element like ele staff fire 5, I do not think the combo/hit check looks for them on the z axis.

I think that combos underwater should trigger if hitting a target being affected by a “combo”-condition. The powers should target a mob and then stay on a target, creating an aura of effect that extends from the original target and creates a combo-condition on mobs around it. Hitting a target with the combo-condition would trigger combo effects. Example: Ele sets up boiling water field tied to a mob. All mobs within 5 meters of the mob pick up the burning-Combo condition. Thief then shoots a projectile finisher into mob picking up burning damage combo on the shot. Warrior does a Tsunami Slash on mob with burning-combo and completes the whirl combo finisher.

Other things I would like to see. Underwater have a separate trait line, that only works underwater, so that my surface build and underwater build are both decent. I run an engi flamethrower build and feel cheated underwater as my traits support flamethrower. The trait line should just allow you to choose underwater traits, your stats boost can stay tied to the main surface lines.

Dagger should also work as an under water weapon. It should have different powers underwater.

A mechanic for running across water (Sylvari Lily pads, Norn Ice path, Ausran flotation shoes), maybe tie it to swiftness, if you stop you would fall in.

Maybe a whole different set of gear for underwater, not needed, but like the breather gives extra boons while in the water. Armored Dive suit, Standard dive suit, Light dive suit. maybe let it move you faster underwater. It would allow a different set of runes if you wanted them. Have check boxes to display. that way you can show off your tattoos if you have them.

Could the new back piece be a play on the feathers of the Mursaat?

I am telling you, we will be fighting Scarlet-Net for a long time. All those Holo-Scarlets are going to continue her schemes forever.

If Scarlet is trying to use knowledge she learned at Thrumanova, maybe she is trying to get some sort of Twinning Effect to happen elsewhere. The Crystal Cavern in Iron marches suffers from effects that occurred at the reactor, maybe she is trying to use whatever is under LA to effect something else.

He dialog shows a clear concern for the people of Nebo Terrace who are looking for aid from Lion’s Arch. As Minister her could be privy to much of the secrets of DR. I still think the WatchKinght/ Steamcreature link needs to be looked at more closely. Who made the watchknights?

What if the attack on Lion’s Arch is a head fake? Could the reason the Captain’s Council isn’t worried about Scarlet because they are all working for her and know whats coming? She runs the most powerful group of rogue pirates, it’s a town founded by pirates. Is it to far fetched that she didn’t assassinate someone to put someone on the council, it was to remove a dissenter who knew to much?

It’s ANets way of telling us they are increasing team sizes to 6! So that there is room for a new race later.

You know, even if she dies. She will always be around in Holograms and probably evil A.I. for forever. Scarlet is the Ultron of Guild Wars. Heck she could already be dead, or highly modified, no one has seen her in person for some time.

First you scatter the “Starks” (DE2.0) by killing “Ned” (Rytlock)

Braham will go help Holebrak, shattering Jormag’s Tooth, he will then lead the Norn armies north Eir will go with him, after delivering a gift to Logan.

Rox will then need to fight against the flame legion to take back the Claw of the Khan-Ur and the Black Citadel.

Kas and Jory will get separated.

Jory be taken by pirates to Canath, escape there and end up in rebellion, find the Queen who has been secreted away there, and end up having to help her get back to Tyria.

Kas will join Logan in Ebonhawk, growing a bit darker thinking Jory is gone, she will become the new “investigator” tracking down what happened to her father.

Taimi will be captured and her legs “fixed” by the new Vice Admiral Shod. Her new “Watchwork” legs allow her to walk, but she is forced to work for the Scarlet Alliance and Inquest to pay them off, losing her freedom. She will be the inside man in the Asura resistance lead by Zojja

Canach will return to Orr with Caithe and Trahearne to retrieve Caladbog hoping to use its power to restore the Pale Tree. Trahearne will not be able to remove it because it could undo his Wild Hunt. Canach however, will be able to take it and leads the charge to restore the tree.

Captain Ellen Kiel will control the Airship “Tyrian Freedom” leading the free Pirates against the control of Scarlet’s Alliance. She will be funded by Evon’s Black Lion-Black Market, buying on the black market cost more, but will aid the resistance.

What do we really know about the Stone Warband? Even Rytlock seems to distance himself from it in the novel. Is it possible that its a Warband for gladium? Have we met anyone else that is even in that Warband?

Good point, poison the well so to speak. I too think she is trying to “break” magic, poisoning the leylines might do that all too well. It would be interesting if anything with magic put a debuff on you and we all had to find “white” gear or suffer while magic is tainted.

I always thought the Pact might be too good a force. Three really independent orders, made up primarily of 5 nations, now with their main enemy defeated. The other dragons will see them as a threat. The other nations could see them as a threat. They have had their air ships hijacked and really have not had that much of a presence in the story since Zhaitan’s fall.

Could it be that bad of a story if it does collapse, that we would have to rebuild it a second time. Better Stronger, more unified.

Wait a second, anyone think it will be Canach that figures out how to stop the toxin? Also if she attacks Lions Arch isn’t that where the Quaggan refugees went after the Tower of Nightmares? I have a feeling there is going to be one really ticked off Quaggan that ends up joining DE 2.0 9 (Avengers of Lions Arch)

Imagine all the Elder dragons having a convention in Lions Arch. Yeah, that is what I expect to happen.

We will then have to restore magic with the bloodstones, because the imbalance in the world will have it start to fall into the Mist and be destroyed. Restoring the bloodstone and returning magic however will also rise the dragons again.

I had no intention of setting one foot onto the new pvp map to get the scattered pieces of Taimi’s golem. None….

Welcome to Scarlet’s World.

A world, were the portals are broken; we have disguises in cities, and secret bases. Ebonhawk becomes the new DR. The Charr fallback into the Blood Legion Home lands. Norn to Honor of the Waves. Sylvari to cleansing Orr. Asura to ruins under Rata Sum.

A new chapter in the Personal Story were we gather the bloodstone, and find the Queen to restore magic and tear down Scarlet’s Twisted Tyria.

Be Ready. The End is Nigh!

The Krait where recruited to help with the Toxic Alliance on promises of a returned profit most likely the Inquest captured krait during the deep sea operations and began seeding the rumors of their ability to help them in this endeavor. Bringing the krait and the Court together I believe to refine the mind affecting toxin and develop a biological way to bond Dragon Energy to host the way the inquest does with Technomagic. Looking for a way to make the system “naturally” self-replicating. I believe the Toxic Hybrid is a Mordremoth Infused Krait.

When we discover the explosive nature of Scarlet’s combined elements and the Anti-Toxin, we have given Scarlet the very weapon she can use to destroy the Pale tree. Notice also how the first people to show up at the end of the event were the Consortium. There to profit and pick up information for the Scarlet Alliance right under our noses.

This may have been the final clue for Ellen Kiel. She begins confronting the Consortium and their Fractals right after this incident. She may have more information from Mai Trin and Canach’s integrations that we have not been let onto yet.

This brings us to now. If we are here (Mari) then Scarlet is not. Looking at her hidden lair, I am convinced she started this plan about the time we took are first steps in the personal story. And if so, we are just here to witness plans laid out so far in advance that there is not much we can affect. We are surviving the Living Story. Think Watchmen’s Ozymandias. I think the Diary takes place after the Chamber, but before she had really “broke” from her connection to Mordremoth.

So the UFO, I don’t think it’s a drill I think it’s a Temporal Accelerator, meant to rapidly speed up the time in a given area. Why? To get the dragons back to sleep faster. If she plans to burn the world down and remake it in her image so she sits on top. Then she has to break all forms of control. Every government, religion, dragons, and magic itself.

If she knows the ley lines, maybe she can cut them off, forcing them to pool in one location creating a massive magical well. Drawing the Dragons to one location. Lions Arch. As the Dragons rampage across the world to LA, imagine the destruction. Jormag would likely tear through Holebrak, Kal through the Black Citadel, Mordremoth through Cadalon, Bubbles right into LA, and Primordus right up through the crust. Imagine LA besieged by five elder dragons, a Volcano opening up in the bay and spilling out destroyers by the thousands. And the Dragons using LA like their own boxing ring. Then Scarlet parks the ufo above them and speeds up time. They burn through magic like candy, devastating the cycle.

The flame legion would move into the ruins of Black Citadel, Crushing opposition and claiming the Claw of the Khan-Ur.

Dedge would take Holebrak (Molebrak)

The White Mantel retakes over humanity then the gods are out, the government changes.

“Reprogramed” golems seize Rata Sum for the Inquest.

While Canach handled the Molten alliance. Scarlet had been assembling the Aetherblades. After Covington’s defeat, pirate captains would have been fighting for supremacy. In order to secure and edge and take over, Mai Trin was approached by Scarlet and aided by inquest technology. Scarlet becoming the new Admiral and Mai Trin her favored captain. Realizing that Pact had made navy warfare secondary to air power, Scarlet had the Aethers infiltrate and recover downed ships during the war with Zhaitan. Using the Sinister triad again, she contacted the remnants of Fyonna, Countess of Spiders and offered them vengeance for her loss in exchange for using their branch of the Twilight Arbor as a base for her new navy. They agreed and she talked with them about toxins. The Inquest then backward engineered the ships and the Aetherblades were ready.

Seeing an opportunity to gain a greater upper hand she sought to place Mai Trin on the captains’ council, using the Consortium to smuggle in all the supplies needed to build the base in lions arch and make the preparations. When Lions Arch began showing off the Holographic projectors Scarlet found another opportunity to expand her presence and limit exposure and once the Aetherblades attacked, the secondary objective of stealing the projectors began in earnest.

While the Heroes discovered what was going on in Lions Arch, another arm of Scarlet’s Alliance was at work. I wonder how long the humans worked on creating the Watchknights? If we look at the Human personal stories, we can see the White Mantel/Ministry working against the Queen in DR. We also know that the Sinister Triad links the Bandits and the Inquest. Is it a wonder that Uzolan gained Ausran technology to build his robot? Is it not funny how mechanical this Golem is? After Uzolan who could have finished the Watchknights? Due the complexity of the machines and their eventual twisted nature I believe Scarlet had a hand in the development of the WatchKnights from the beginning. I believe the entire Caudecus’s Manor to be an original move in Scarlet’s chess game. I believe the entire point of Caudecus manor is to place an imposter on the throne of Kryta and put Caudecus in the throne room. That said I believe the only way it could be done is if the Countess is in on it. The Entire scenario is unthinkable until her remark of “is exactly what I’d do.” Then in the closing ceremony the queen’s image is shattered when the duplicate is revealed. The Queen was hiding, the queen wasn’t even there, and the queen’s watchknights are now attacking everyone. The queen sure looks weak and after talking with Logan in LA we discover that the shinning blade will not let anyone near her. Why would the shinning blade do this? The Carnival brainwashing story from the Human personal story. How long did it go on before it was uncovered? How many sleeper agents are in place? I believe Majory’s “E” to be Minister Etham. He appears to be more closely tied to the people of Nebo Terrace and Lions Arch and maybe outside of the Ministry’s schemes but close enough to become aware of their plans and warn others. With down fall of the Human government beginning Scarlet moved on.

Twilight Assault was Scarlet’s Experiment with integrating biology with technology as a first step in replicating the steam creatures and trap for Caithe. A trap that worked, allowing her to replace Caithe with a Watchknight replacement. She then used Caithe and her secret knowledge of the location of the cave of seeds to acquire a seed and cross pollenate it with the Fervid Censor. Then with the Court and Krait they planted it at a ley line focal point to create the Tower of Nightmares, a sister tree of the Pale Tree.

I cannot call this a theory; there are little facts, just ideas that spun out of control based on how I perceive the LS. Beware Wall of Text!

I think Scarlet wants to break systems of control and the ultimate control is the dragon cycle. But to do this she needs to set the system into a state that breaks itself. She is going to destroy magic itself…or try.

Scarlet is a member of the Inquest, brilliant and possibly tainted by Dragon corruption. The Inquest was/is experimenting with harnessing dragon energy and using it to create minions under their control. Who’s to say that Omadd didn’t infuse Scarlet with Mordremoth’s energy in the chamber? If sylvari are immune to dragon corruption and you are looking to use dragon corruption without the dragon control it would seem like a good place to start. Infused with Mordremoth’s power she may can “hear” him, but not be under his control. With the Inquest current leader KO’ed is it possible that Scarlet stepped up? I say she did, took over, and began looking at what was going on in the organization.

Inquest has underwater bases and submarines to probably study the DSD and its minions and is potentially a way access and acquire krait obelisk.

The Inquest is part of the Sinister Triad (Bandits, Inquest, and Nightmare Court), This group seems to control a fort that blocks entrance into the deeper Maguma and an Asura portal to somewhere. The Seraph believes that the Bandits are linked to the White Mantle and are investigating the area. This Sinister Triad could be the early stages of the Scarlet Alliance.

The Consortium was founded by Asurans. The Consortium is all about the end goal, and cares little for those that get hurt. Sounds like the economic branch of the Inquest and I think that is exactly right. I believe that the Consortium is the “front” for the Inquest, helping them move goods and service “legitimately.” I think the Inquest found Southsun Cove, and has been setting it up as both a research facility and slowly, an alternative to Lions Arch. (I’ll come back to this.)

The Karka event is likely a dry run of the Toxins that scarlet used in the Tower of Nightmares. Itself a derivative of the Nightmare Courts own brainwashing spores. I would not be surprised if Canach is one of the direct commanders of the Scarlet Alliance. It may be possible that the “smooth talker” from the city was Canach. After his “infiltration” of the Molten Facility he becomes darker and has the new gauntlets. Is it possible that he underwent the Balefire Ritual (or inquest Primordus fusion) for the sole purpose of being the neutral leader between both organizations? At first they were fracturing apart, but have since been part of Scarlet’s plans and attacks.

The refugee’s situation created by the unleashing of the Molten Alliance created an opportunity for Sub Director Null to seize control of the Consortium from Scarlet. Creating a work force/army that would have been “loyal” to him and aid in his coupe attempt. Canach was sent back to Southsun to deal with Null and “break” his control over the people and test Toxin phase two. Part of this was also a test of the reprogramming abilities of Scarlet to see if she could re-wright the golems in Rata Sum.

I kind of think we will eventually get Watchwork/Steam Creature player race. It would basically be another human model and could use most of the existing assets.

I also think Dwarves will make a comeback when Primordus shows up. I could see him using corrupted stone Dwarves as soldiers. Maybe the race has to break the enchantment to avoid being controlled? Or Maybe Primordus eats the magic that binds them and they begin reverting back. Having two small sized characters couldn’t hurt for justifying Armor skin time and designs.

I also think the Tengu will become playable with Primordus’s arrival.

However, I think whenever they do this it will open up “Personal Story Chapter 2” working like the GW1, and these races will get to start in the world at that point.

Anyone think the Arrows are related to her drawing the Elder dragons to LA for a single fight, let them fight each other and then “mari-laser” them down?

he he… picking at threads here. Aetherblades stealing Hologram projectors during Skypirates of Tyria, we see Scarlet use Holographic projection to taunt us ever since and use them to make false walls to hide secret lairs. Feel like there is more to this.

Marjory’s E could be Minister Etham, seems like a good minister in the mix, and I think she would have mentioned him not being human in her story. She also ask Logan about it, poking around Divinity Reach contacts more makes me think this person “seemed” human to her.

Caith’s secret? Zhaitan is not dead. She knew this and yet said nothing to her friends.

If this is the case, we should be able to find her other bases. This is a hypothesis we can examine by simply searching really hard.

I’ve been all over Lion’s Arch, and didn’t notice any secret lair, but LA is a pretty big place, and it can be easy to hide something there.

Maybe it is in plain sight? I have started to think the Consortium is Scarlet’s Black Lion and they have a gate to the Mist.

I searched all over LA too, trying to find another base (even the sewers). It could have represented the Aetherbase, if the lair was there before Scarlet left it for us to find, but I doubt it. That is another thing, how did the Priory find it? The original watchknights could imitate other creatures, you don’t think Scarlet is using glamoured watchknights as spies do you?

I searched around the island where the Chantry of Secrets is never finding another secret base. There is an odd group of Pirates on the back side of the Island, and Inquest (Scarlet’s research arm) that attack a Lionsguards fort. There is a small cave inlet to the east of island that has the potential to be an entrance but no such luck right now. Still searching the West side of the island.

I have also considered how Scarlet felt about the meddlesome humans. What if…she isn’t talking directly about “us” but about the movements of the Ministry/White Mantle? I theorize that at Caudecus’s Manor, the Queen was abducted and replaced with Mesmer Illusions. It is only after the manor that the Queen sends Logan away and now the Shinning Blade will not even let him near the Queen. It is possible a shadow war between Scarlet’s Alliance and the White Mantle have been fighting over the bloodstones, both needing the Queen to “seal” the deal. That would explain the attack on the Jubilee. It is the Mesmer illusion shattering as Lord Faren reaches for it that anyone one knows different. If that is true then the Shinning Blade could actually be controlled by the White Mantel as well. Could this all lead up to us confronting the Queen and discovering that she is a Watchknight in disguise? That could lead to Logan being banished to Ebonhawk and/or the Search for the Queen, (wild guess is she is in Cantha) and that the Ministry of Purity there is actually controlled by the White Mantle.

TLDR: Volstag is nuts.

I think she gets her resources from the Consortium. They where introduced in LS, and as far as we can tell, other than holidays, they are all connected somewhat. The plant in her lair is from Southsun. The Consortium is trying to move in on the Black Lion. They make an excellent resource and distribution network. They where already there as soon as the Nightmare Tower Fell, they helped move people after Flame and Frost. I really think the Consortium is Scarlet’s Finance arm. They even have their own gate to the Mist/Fractals, the thumper is built right under water near them, and the Aetherbase is a stones throw away.

If we all use the Black Lion, what if her alliances use the Consortium to trade goods. Think Evon’s fees are bad? What do you think Scarlet charges?

I still think the ‘X’ represent her hidden bases. maybe ones we can’t get to yet. The thumper in Lions Arch harbor has me thinking how does she move stuff around? How did she get supplies to the Aetherbase in LA? The Consortium! That is how she is making money to fund her endeavor. First people to show up after the Nightmare tower falls? Consortium. If the Alliances are her Pact, then maybe the Consortium is her Black Lion?

What if the X’s mark secret lairs? I really want to got to each location and see if we are missing something else. The Sewers of Lions Arch, has anyone been down there recently?

The UFO is almost for sure the “Drill” but then why is it upside down in the sky? Maybe because its not a drill, its a laser. When you fail Mari, its like a targeting system zeroes in on you and then you get blasted. Is the beam from Mari bouncing off something else up there and targeting us all?

Maybe she is drawing all the dragons to LA? Bubbles, from the SW, Mordremoth from the NW, Jormag from the North, Kalktorik (sp?) from the SE, and Primordus from below LA to have them fight each other and Destroy LA in the process? Then she plans to kill them all with Mari?

I agree with some of the others I think she may be a twisted Trehanne. The Aether’s are a twisted Pact. Molten alliance seem just a step away from followers of Primordus (flame legion want a god, the Dredge hate Primordus primary enemies.) I have begun to wonder if the krait prophets where actually Dragon minions and the obelisk tied to it and I think the Nightmare is from Mordremoth. Scarlet seems to be forging a Dragon servant “Pact” which she intends to lead in service for/against all the Dragons.

I also consider maybe there is more to the Queens bash. What if…Jeena wasn’t rescued from Caduesces(sp?) manor? What if an impostor/Agent of the Muarsat is hiding the fact that a mesmer illusion is leading DR? What if the Watchknights went “crazy” cause they hired her to make Jeena look bad. What if The Shinning Blade had been infiltrated ages ago by Lazerus, the current Mesmer leader could easily hide the fact that Jeena is gone if she was inclined. In the opening ceremonies the SB Leader mentions that Scarlet did just what she would do. She also messes with Logan and the Watchknights had the ability to intimate other creatures. She also is now preventing Logan from getting close to the Queen. Remember right after Caduces(sp?) manor the Queen sends Logan off to help DE. Where was the Shinning Blade at the manor? Why was the Queen even remotely threatened? The Mesmer illision was so good, a noble at close range couldn’t tell it was an illusion until it “popped.”

You’ll have to forgive me, I didn’t play GW1, I wish I had.

Could the Slyvari have been created by Melandru? Reading her entry in the GW1 wiki her avatar that appeared before the humans sounds like the Pale Tree’s Avatar.

If the Slyvari where created by Melandru, could Balthazar have created the Charr? Horns and fire and all.

Is there a god/dragon cycle? gods come, seed the planet with life, leave, dragons rise, kill and reset, gods come again?

Did Abaddon rebel and give the mortals magic to try and break the cycle? With unlimited magic could we have broken the god/dragon cycle and dethroned the gods?

Is that why Aboddon broke away, was Nightfall his last attempt at “saving us” from the dragons? Was his “replacement” necessary to continue the cycle? The Margonites are immortal and cannot reproduce, similar to dragon minions, and Slyvari. Strange right?

After we defeat the dragons, will the gods return with someone else in tow? Someone to take our(current races) place in the world?

Watchknights are the beginnings of a new PC race . Golems+Steam Creatures+Watchknights = That new thing.

Not bad, just uncontrolled. I wouldn’t use them in sPvP. If you don’t care what they attack, as long as they are contributing to the battle, then they work fine. Turrets = Battlefield Chaos.

They’re not very good, but they’re what I like the best of the Engineer’s skills – no RNG like Elixirs give, not used by everybody and their mother like Kits, not something something Gadgets (I just don’t particularly like Gadgets, though I can’t put my finger on why). They don’t deal very good damage, they don’t survive for long, they’ve got long cooldowns and no mobility to speak of…but they’re what I like, and I’m stubborn enough to make them work, even if I have to use them as landmines.

LMAO – used as landmines is right, however I believe the RNG is in what they attack. Without a way to focus their fire they seem to attack “Closest Hostile” first.

I love the Flame Thrower, it is my favorite kit, but, why does pistol 4 and rocket boots tool belt have bigger burns?

I would love if every second tic of FT1 would apply a 1 sec burn. Also I would like a secondary attack that is a single target hit hidden in this cone, So that when I target objects it hits it just like other ranged attacks. I think it would fix the missmissmiss issue and boost damage on the primary target of the Flamethrower.

I think FT2 should be able to be detonated on second click. That would let it stay the same and yet be more effective after “round 1” of the combat.

FT3 is fine.

FT4: Napalm should cling to the target upping the burning per pulse up to 2s.

FT5: Smoke Vent. Why is this not a combo Field? the one on the Flame turret is?

Next, I want to use Flamethrower underwater!

FT1 – Same but change to make boiling water (white flames and bubbles?)

FT2 – No Change from above

FT3 – No change

FT4 – Change to a sphere of Boiling Water area when it detonates like the gun in Diessa Plateau’s Flame Temple Tombs, use and orb like FT2 and allow it to detonate for better placement.

FT5 – Combo field blind just like above, call it Oil slick 2.

Finally i would like as a benefit of being in Flamethrower kit, a passive burn remover. Call it Fire Proof, removes a stack of burn every second.

I know…I am dreaming.

Turrets vs Dungeon – Citadel of Fire (Story)

Or how fast can I get another turret deployed…

Turrets draw aggro, I am not sure why but I seem to keep my friends alive by deploying more turrets. It is like cowbell, you just can’t keep enough of them out. The dungeon mobs crushed the turrets, and luckily ate the explosion for it, but the recharge kept me punching my tool belt option far more than in regular PVE.

I lost a lot of turrets to AOE fireballs from above. Almost like the effect was targeting them specifically. It became such a problem that I really had to work at separating out my “Death Zone” to keep from losing all my turrets in one blast.

Does anyone know if Condition damage affects turrets? They seem to be fine and survive well in fire effects, almost like they did not take damage from burn. I notice the same in PVE while I attack objects and thought that the Burn was not affecting the target.

I died to Bolok Firebringer. Note to self, yet again, “Do not stand in fire.” I know it is pretty, and warm, and oh so nice. But fire burns. Get out of it.

Rozgar the Forge…well at least my turrets exploded as he went through them. Fight was long as we whittled him down, there was a strange bug that seemed to have him teleport around the map so keeping him targeted became a problem. Every time he popped in and out we would lose the target assist and everyone would have to scan around the area to find him.

Hierophant Improaster went down easy. Turrets seemed to keep the imps in control and quickly taken down, While most of the rest of our party burned down the Hierophant.

For the Flame Legion Effigy the turrets worked pretty well. I got around back to the Acolytes and set up the turrets and as soon as the shields dropped on them the turrets started taking them out. I think they might have taken some damage early on from shooting the shield but over all they seemed to take it well. Again I think the burn on the attacks wasn’t affecting the turrets, but I am not sure. I set my healing turret up on one side of the room and when people needed to heal up they would run over to it. It never took enough damage to explode during the fight so it became a rest stop for our more melee oriented members until they decided to switch to range.

Gaheron Baelfire. At first I thought the turrets would not help. I set up the healing turret at the back of the bubble to help the others regen as they got back to the bubble. Setup Thumper, Rifle and Rocket at the front and let them fire on the walls Baelfire put up, clearing the way for the runners. I am not sure about the Thumper, but I thought it better than the flame turret against Baelfire.

Talking with my group after the run, I asked what they thought. I got a general, “I think it is pretty good.” response. They liked the healing turret and knowing where they could go or be if they needed to heal some. They also felt that the turrets helped whittle down the mobs faster. A kind of “Economy of Actions” help; that each turret operates as yet and extra set of options on top of what I am doing to aid the fight.

What I noticed most, Condition removal. Cleansing Burst off the healing turret is the only Condition removal I have, if its up and if the turret is deployed.

So, now, do I take it into WvW? I have not gone into that arena at all yet, so being a complete noob with turrets sounds like a long day. I may give it a go this weekend and see where it takes me. You see a human engineer from Tarnish Coast getting owned in WvW lend a hand or at least go easy on him. I’ll need it.
