HoM rewards gone when creating new character

I created a new character and immediately lost 550 AP along with receiving a rather offensive in-game email that my GWAMM title was issued by mistake. I visited HoM in GW1, then relogged onto GW2 main and got the 550 AP and the AP and title were restored. Screenshots below.

This problem must be corrected because honest recipients of hard-earned GWAMM title are being falsely accused of receiving it incorrectly. There are bugs and then there are bugs. Telling people who spent years acquiring GWAMM that their title was incorrectly issued and thus stripped is egregious.

That said, if the only way to handle the bug is to strip everyone of the GW1 AP and titles and requiring them to do something like visit their HoM, etc— ok — but, again, notifying people that you received the title in error is poor communication and makes loyal, old-time customers like myself rather upset.

Why didn’t you simply send out an email “We need you to confirm your title by visting your HoM .. or use language like may have been issued by mistake etc.”

False accusations are taken seriously by customers and are bad business.

This 100% and then some.

Looking for PvE/PvP Guild

Hello, I’m a Kaineng server member looking for an active guild. ( Does not mean I am not willing to change servers not much of an issue to change)
(Simply information will be in list form, list for is easy to understand and quick to read)

Type of player I am:
- Guild Wars Veteran (5 years of original Guild Wars play)
- Enjoy mostly PvE
- Would like to seriously get into sPvP
- Has no issues with VOIP communications and love talking to guildies
- Tend to take a liking to raising in ranks in the guild ( I rather enjoy doing all I can for the guild)
- Looks at the game as a hobby not just a video game. ( I spend hours on end like others in this game, I believe it’s more of a hobby then a game, like building model cars or wood carving)
- Based out of EST time zone.

What I look for in a guild:
- Active
- Casually mature (in explanation, Jokes take up 80% of conversation I fully understand that and I am quite a ‘jokester’ myself, but I look for a guild with members who can have a intellectual conversation or discussion if an issue would to arise in a situation)
- Mainly PvE and sPvP ( still new to sPvP would love to learn) based

Hello, I’m a Kaineng server member looking for an active guild.

Need inspect option in the game

I’d like to agree on inspection of just cosmetic information, I and assuming a load of other players ‘Player gaze’ in LA when doing any type of academic work or just don’t have the desire to run something or farm and go ‘OH! That’s amazing looking! That color scheme is just above par’. So in short, I’d vote on cosmetic inspection without permission from the opposing player. Then if you’d like their gears pinged ask to ping like what we have now, or I’d even go as far as a ‘full’ inspection (along side of the normal cosmetic inspection make them to different options) option that would ask the opposing player to accept or decline prior to the inspection. Some players don’t mind showing their gear traits and such, reading these post players make it seem that once you’re in a group you’re stuck there. ignore and walk away if you don’t want to be inspected there are many people out their who have the same opinion on the inspection issue. You can certainly find a group that fits to your ideals. But when it comes to such things as ‘Speed clears’, it’s just like any other structured team or group. Players have spent plenty of time into trying to find what traits will benefit certain events and instances the ‘best’, so if you don’t want to abide by those regulations of what is described as the ‘best’ way to run certain items in the game, simply explain your theory of how your different build is better or just as efficient, or go and find a group that allows for you to run your build. I don’t see inspection bringing more ‘elitist’ to what there already are with the pinging option already in the game.

Thanks for the feedback, to be honest this kind of became off topic XD, it has never been an issue getting inside, just like Lilith Ajit.6173 posted it’s just an unexplained happening, Yet it is true that you can range it as a Mesmer, it is not the point of the post. The fact is this issue does hinder damage output on classes that use summoner creatures as pets. Just a little confused on why it happens, if it’s meant to and will it ever be changed or not. Regardless none of those can be answered by anyone but Dev’s but i appreciate all the feedback

When you summon a clone it doesn’t actually spawn on top of you, rather it spawns far away then runs to you (quite quickly). At least that’s what I’ve heard. It makes sense since any field that will insta kill a clone will make it impossible to spawn them.

This is true for the most part, that being said the second ability on the focus which is the warden phantasm cast on top of the target and actually never moves unless cast to destroy. Which if anyone plays a Mesmer for dps the Sword/Focus is one of the most viable and really damage out putting sources without being completely shatter base, this issue itself is a crucial issue with the bubble that we’ve addressed here.

Thanks for the feedback, Obviously I didn’t know this was happening to every summoned pet/creature. I feel like this is a bug and should be addressed because as we all have seen it slices down a ton of damage and utilities for any class that isn’t lets say ‘auto attack friendly’. I’d understand something like the Mesmers berserker the 4th ability on the great sword it spins into the bubble but the initial damage should still proc and the others just don’t make any sense. Guess we will see if this gets noticed or brought over to the bug section if someone can’t explain this.

This has probably been talked about beforehand but I figured I’d make a post about it, When running TA F/F when you get to the section where the you need to take the red portals into the bubbles to down the archers, as a Mesmer this becomes quite a challenge to deal any type of consistent due to even when you make it inside the bubbles your phantasms can’t spawn. For example the warden on the focus which doesn’t move at all cannot be cast and it instantly gets destroyed even inside which makes no sense because it never touches the walks of the bubble. This issue cuts the damage of a Mesmer in half leaving only damage to auto attacking and your 2 ability on sword. I’m just curious if anyone knows why it does this or if it’s just a bug.

Ranger LFG Kaineng

I’m a Ranger who has played 5 years of Guild Wars along with the Pre-release of Guild Wars Two, but never really had the chance to complete Ahra and the end story on my ranger before getting annoyed in the change from Guild Wars to Guild Wars Two. I later came to my senses put my trust in Anet and have been addict once again since. Long story short, I’m looking for a decent sized Kaineng guild that is always looking to become better, something I can be loyal to, just like old times. I am looking for a guild that does everything from dungeon runs to WvW. (especially dungeons because it is hell trying to find a solid group) I always loved working my way up through a guild to being a valued member.
Reply back if you feel like your guild fits in for this and would like to have me aboard.

Numeric Enemy HP bar & Total Level Shown

Well, I understand the lack of unorganized numbers flying across the screen, the allowance of having a numeric HP bar ( Which I said would be a setting the user would be able to turn on in the settings, allowing players such as TCChris to still have the non-numeric bar keeping the unknown factor in the game) would allow for players such as myself who likes to understand fully the enemy I’m going to go against instead of blindy doing damage to them.

“Besides when you punch someone… you have no idea how much harder you’ll have to punch them till they get knocked out do you? :P” You also don’t know how much your punch will effect them, so why give out spells any damage at all just do attack animations until the red bar is gone.

half the combat is numeric and the other is not, just doesn’t make sense to me. I should be allowed to see how much HP is left or what they have starting not saying everyone would want to but a setting that would allow for me to see a number would be great. the enemy downs all the same, having the numbers just makes it an experience difference for me. also having for example 100/100 in the red bar isn’t adding anything more to the UI that isn’t already there.

I looked through the setting plenty of times since launch and have never come across a way to change the enemies HP to a numeric setting so I and the group and actually see how much more damage the enemy needs until becoming downed, I personally have always like to see how much I need to do to down an enemy. If anyone knows a reason why this hasn’t been implemented into the games mechanics yet I would love to know. My second suggestion would be, while a being scaled down you should be able to click on the toon * not inspect the character* and show what their total level is. Example: Level 80 is in a level 40 zone I should be able to click on them and by their name of their icon it show that they are level 80 not just their scaled down level. I understand there is a arrow showing they’re a higher level then the zone but it would be nice to see. People work hard for those levels it would be great if they could shown off a little.

If you completely disagree or agree let me hear it I’d love to see what the community has for input.

I’m a little confused on what the thought process was while giving professions such as the Mesmer “counter attack abilities” (in my opinion weapon skills that only become activated if hit) when the goal of casters and such especially the Mesmer is to deal as much damage while taking a small amount. I just feel that they don’t flow with any skill chains and are practically a waste of space on certain classes. So I just wanted to read your opinions on this or your explanation on how they fit into the game and i’m an idiot.

Honestly, I see what you are pointing out. Sure you can stack vitality on a Warrior or Guardian, tell yourself you’re then tank and hope that in some form you remain to keep aggro, but the Guild Wars 2 mechanics do not ( in my eyes and some others I’ve had this conversation with) allow for you to do simple task of truthfully fulling your role. For example look at AC when the Mesmers in love battle came around you’d either spam boulder mashing to keep them apart or hope for the best, there were no Tanks that use abilities to keep aggro such as taunts, you’d have your less dps member throw a boulder until you can down one of the lovers which usually took at least 5 minutes. DPS as a role is an any game, a class that does damage is obviously common and needed. There is not much anyone can do to stop that. Finally the Support role, which to be honest is what i’m a tad sore about, I ran a monk through the first to campaigns of Guild Wars and finsished Night Fall and EoTN with a Paragon. I have always loved that feeling you get when you know that you are supporting the team, its a feeling that everyone gets when they play MMO’s the feeling that you can be what you want and you want to be good at that, in my opinion there are no support classes in Guild Wars 2 that are even measurable, the closest I can come is a guardian buffing and running to pick up downed allies. My bottom line point is, people by nature want to be good at things they enjoy which in this case would be Tank- keeping aggro and staying alive. DPS- Dealing a ton of damage while hoping the Tank keeps aggro. Healer/Support- Keeping everyone buffed and Healed. The feeling of actually contributing to a team run in this game just isn’t fully there, regardless if people say you can find roles through all of this, sure you can but they are and never will be as enjoyable of when you know you are who you want to be and doing that to the best of your ability if you failed at your role in the end you get to try the next run and progress to become better on a PvE aspect of Guild Wars 2 the progression or ‘Learning curve’ is low to none.
A cardboard cu kitten till a cup but it will never be comparable to a glass one I suppose.

Ps. I level capped my character probably just like everyone else here, From all the dungeons I have ran, I have never gotten that feeling of being anything more then damage and self heals. If you look at it the game ability wise is quite selfish not many ablilities that can be contributed to fellow group members.

Now before this suggestion is even going to be made I am fully aware that this by no means pertains to everyone. I played the original GW for 6 years fell in love with it instantly maxed out every class and was more then excited for the upcoming Guild Wars 2. The one thing I missed instantly in dungeons and just common farming with friends is that the absence of roles has really killed the fun I receive from playing an MMO, I always loved feeling as if I actually had a place and used my characters for a purpose. That being said as soon as I hit the level Cap in Guild Wars 2 I felt for a lack of better words, bored. I’d go to do a dungeon and feel as if i’m not being useful and there is much dependencies besides staying alive through the who thing, pulling the right mobs of keeping buffs on the tanks became non-existent. If everyone can do every thing then what is the point of creating more Toons besides the story (which in no doubt are brilliant) but to make my long rant short I feel that Guild Wars 2 came out to be an RPG just connected to the internet. Which is maybe what they were shooting for. Along with that I suppose me suggestion is somewhere along the lines of implementing the act of roles back into the game. (Which is completely unrealistic at this point if i’m going to be honest) I know I can’t be the only one missing that feeling of supporting a group of 7 other people through a 2-3 hour run.

Coming from years of playing Guild Wars the alliance system they had in guilds there were by far the greatest idea that i’v seen (just in my opinion of course) you could have your PvP/Speed Clear Guild (while still remaining loyal to them, which was a big thing in Guild Wars) while still having that awesome community that all the multiple guilds in your alliance brought to the table. made everyone happy IMO while still keeping the GM satisfied with loyal members. definitely something i miss greatly from Guild Wars.

Personally coming from playing Guild Wars for so long i do not like the multi-guild system i’d much rather have the alliance system like they had in Guild Wars it made you have that feel of tight family guild that everyone knew each other and liked to be around (in game wise) but you could also experience that huge factor of 400 people in a single alliance that’s what i would really like to see brought back to Guild Wars 2 but the chances of that are low

I like your idea Red Falcon.
I’m very ok with the current world raiding system as a concept.
I just want to see the current bosses made much stronger (needing at least 30 coordinated people or die), more frequent spawns and the reward obviously should match the greater difficulty.
That way those “PvE guilds” have a goal too

Also my boyfriend had a neat idea. Of making like a “Hardcore” dungeon mode. Where you would need 10 people and the bosses and trash would be harder/larger. And you could do where you get say 120 tokens at the end. Where they could make a second “Dungeon gear” set that was like twice as expensive. This way if you didn’t want to raid you could still do dungeons normal to get it it would just take longer.

What do you guys think about that idea?

Anet did have a “Hardmode” (what it was called) in Guild Wars, which was brought in later after launch and updates. Which “Hardmode” did highten the chance of drops for rares and such items of value. While making it “harder” to down a mob. (I.E the level cap in Guild Wars was 20 so all the mobs were 20+ in any part of the map that you went into with a party with Hardmode enabled) that being said in Guild Wars every map had its own instance meaning it wasn’t free roaming such as Guild Wars 2 is now. you went into a part of the map with a certain party or just by yourself. So to see them implement a system such as they had in Guild Wars towards the dungeons in Guild Wars 2 is a pretty great probability.
