IOJ wasn’t destabilized by other servers, it was unstable for a LONG time. You could sit around in LA and listen to the chat every time new content came out. People consumed the new content, then disappeared, over and over. IOJ was a server of beta tester PVE players who love to race to finish content and then move on to the next thing.

It’s the opposite of WvW, and the IOJ WvW community dealt with this tension for months wanting more or less WvW and not so much PvE. It just so happened that FA was a WvW server. Everything made more sense the more we thought about FA, so many of us transferred. In general, the IOJ people who like competition moved to FA, the ones who wanted to win went to T1 and the ones who like to start from the bottom went to Kaineng. So, FA is now a server loosely united with people of like mind.

About the FA Weekend thing I think we’re skipping a few steps.

Think about what it means when a group of people do much better on the weekend than during the work week. What does it say about their demographics?

This game is so amazing without culling.

I had a day-dream earlier today, in it the roleplayers from Kaineng joined TC and the hardcore WvW guilds from Kaineng joined FA. Reminded me of the great IOJ exodus of 2013.

Fort Aspenwood seem to be making good use of line of sight hacks and terrain exploits when using arrow carts. Best way, just get a quick video and also report them.

So how are we suppose to report hackers. Literally watched two FA ppl from Ancient Warriors [AW] jump up SMC wall -_- There is not option for hacking and we cant see their names so even with screenshots how are we suppose to report them?

Friend some of the guild leaders and commanders on FA and we’ll try to find out who it is.

The points are the game, it’s how you win. It shouldn’t be the game but it is.

Of course people have ideas. We see that they are worth variable points that loosely correspond to how close they are to their destination. I’ve personally seen 4 as the common number because they are most often somewhere in the middle of their trek.

Personally as a rule of thumb, I command people NOT to take camps unless they plan on defending/upgrading the camp and its yaks, because 2 yaks are worth more points than the camp itself and if the enemy reflips before the tick you’ve given them more points than if you had not touched it.

Really now, you are playing the game. If you had something better to do you’d be off doing it. So this is the best you have, now make the most of it.

I should clarify here again that the culling fix will have minimal impact on skill lag. Skill lag happens because the server too busy to process everything that’s happening (e.g. it’s at 100% CPU). The removal of culling addresses issues experienced by the client but those changes don’t really impact the skill lag situation. They are fundamentally different problems that will need different solutions. Habib Loew

Can we get a fundraiser going for bigger better or more processors? I’ll tell you that it would be difficult to express how little I care about items that change the appearance of my character. I was (I think) the first one to suggest giving players the ability to sliding scale rendering so that it’s at virtually nothing and we can still play the WvW game instead of the “I feel pretty on this battlefield” game.

So, next step. Culling is being culled. Now let’s give skill lag some skill by doing the processor thang. How can we make this happen? I’d donate 20 dollars personally to get rid of skill lag. It’s why I don’t participate in Eternal Battlegrounds at primetime.

Invaders gear is amazing for a variety of builds.

Anyone want to send me an executive summary of this thread? I know Engineers and Warriors can do this, and I know there are some meager counters like stability…

Can any other professions do stuns/knockdowns on arrow carts?

Just because you have a powerhouse T1 doesn’t mean NA servers are weaker competition. And considering you’re Red Guard everything short of Za Drots is weaker competition. You’re not in a good place to say whether Europeans in general would like or dislike NA servers.

And, the lag is not bad on all the servers. We have a bunch of Australian players with no problem, and there are good few English players on FA as well. They don’t have lag problems. If your connection is decent and you live in western Europe, you’ll be fine.

FA dominating T3. Not a remark about the character or skill of our opponents, just a reality.

It’s a good entry level position to T2 if you’re looking for a place. I personally love it.

Lots of whining, and complaining, and negativity. Lots of people saying it’s so bad. Do me a favor. Find a different game. Stop whining. You’re not improving anyone’s experience of the game, and you’re not improving your own.

This game isn’t perfect, but it’s so much fun I keep logging in…

Personally spent a lot of time in WvW tonight, lots of attacking/defending objectives, lots of fights of every scale (even some 50 v 50 in DB BL at 2am EST). Tons of badges, tons of loot (emptied my bags 3 or 4 times, can’t remember).

My recommendation is that both DB and YB need to keep attacking us with their all, that way everyone will have the most fun.

Someone should record it or stop making accusations. It’s 2013. If you’re not running Fraps or some other capture software at all times shame on you. Even a screenshot of someone in an impossible to reach area would serve as proof.

Why would it matter? I know what I saw, my guild ninja’d NE tower in DB BL and we trebbed garrison with it. While we’re trebbing we notice that there are two people fighting the claimer(newly buffed apparently since the update). How did they get in?!?!?! So we push them out. Next we see them floating/wall hacking up toward our trebs and we push them out again. They’re unguilded, generic looking. What’s to report?

We go to southeast supply after dying to a legitimate guild at NE tower, and we see the same two guys minutes later in the camp. They’re bouncing all over the place. They run away… very fast.

Then we notice our SE tower was taken… in the minutes in between us dying at NE and arriving at SE. Then we read map chat, the SE tower was taken without any walls going down. Which makes sense since… there was still no siege near it, we owned hills (no trebbing), and almost all of DB (basically all of DB) was defending garrison or one of the north towers. Yet, our two anonymous people were in the same area.

So, full disclosure, I have a guy in my guild that knows how to hack in GW2 and I’ve told him if he ever does it again I’m insta-booting him from guild. And I’m not the first one to notice the bots porting wherever they want in the blink of an eye to harvest in frostgorge sound etc. And, I’m not the first to see reverse gravity or wall hacking. There are youtube videos of this stuff.

And I can see why you would want to believe that every last soul on [your server] is pure and wholesome, unwilling to take advantage of WvW exploits. But srsly. Why would I lie about this?

I ran from battle once as an FA commander, and somebody got really mad. It went like this

- I say “We’re not committing to this gate, destroy the siege and scatter”, and repeat 5 times running back and forth in front of my pug army (which I don’t often lead).
- 25 enemy in a guild show up, stack and charge us just as we finish off all the canons, mortar, and arrow carts.
- My pug army scatters
- One guy who wasn’t paying attention for 5 minutes died, and then got kitten off that he died in WvW, and that he was one of the few who died while the rest of us cowardly folk ran away at the first sign of trouble.

In other words, I run from battle purposefully, to the advantage of my team We went on to tear down the siege at all the gates, and systematically de-supply the keep and take it.

I do believe it is in their best interest. I am not trying to deceive anyone. Just like it’s in our best interest for DB and YB to both attack FA (and it’s in FA’s best interest too), like I said on the matchup thread. What’s in everyone’s best interest is competitive matchups.

Some servers are artificially held in their tier because they absolutely dominate one part of the day and absolutely get dominated another part of the day, and it happens that no one has competitive matchups even though their scores are relatively close together.

FA mainly needs SEA/EU guilds but could use one or two more wvw-focused guilds in NA primetime, small guilds who are focused on wvw and enjoy it immensely enough not to quit if/when we are in T2 and it’s not as easy as T3. DB’s AoN is a great example. I love fighting you guys, Drgn purposely lost against you just for the chance to improve. Same with other guilds in this matchup. If you are looking for something more, moving to FA is a good idea. If you’re happy where you’re at, we don’t want you

Most of the WvW focused guilds of FA enjoyed T2 so much that we want to go back even if it means we’re in third place. What we need to secure us in T2 is primarily a force willing to do what they do best for 3-4 hours of the day where we don’t now have overlap.

24 hour coverage on FA by taking guilds who are not getting what they want from WvW is in everyone’s best interest.

I can’t. Working 12.5 hours starting at 7 AM, so I’ll miss the moments of reset and be on later. I want you all to know how badly FA wants the challenge.

It’s in your best interest to make an agreement among your major guilds to commit yourselves to FA. Or at least to show preference toward killing FA. In a spirit of equanimity you can both take points from FA.

See, what happened for FA to get this powerful but not advance in a tier was IOJ joined, then a bunch of others saw the opportunity and joined as well after. You can do something similar by both attacking FA… until we have nothing left.

Destroy us until we beg for mercy, then don’t stop!

Please, please, please. Dragonbrand and Yak’s Bend, hit FA as hard as you possibly can.

We want the challenge, we want the practice, and you would both increase your scores.

Srsly. If you both got the major guilds to agree to focus on FA, everyone would have more fun.

FA wants more fighting, if you both focused on us we’d get it.

Get your guilds to work together, and get your servers to work together.

It’s not like you’re in a position to take first anyway, be realistic.

Join together and make everyone have more fun.

I would be happy if FA went to tier 2 but I am afraid we are stuck with them for a while. But even if they move up and TC moved down to join us it will be pretty much the same deal. Same goes for you guys, if you move down to tier 4 you will dominate and the match will get stale. Both DB and Mag are in a pretty crappy spot. Overpowered servers above us and underpowered below.

Do what we did. Join forces and create Maguumabrand.

What’s the best way to deal with conditions in fights of 10v10+?

-Necromancers?
-Light fields?

If a fight lasts for over a minute, and the difference is condition stacking, what can you do about it?

As a regular commander in Drgn, I can tell you that if we have people spying on your mumble it’s for their own humor, not for tactical purposes. Or possibly for our humor. I’ve heard people talk about this, but we haven’t had active spies since Pending was around. Even then, it was because Pending enjoyed the social aspect of the game… recruiting/spying/guild amalgamation.

I for one am enjoying fights with DB and Maguuma, especially AoN and LMAO. They are approximately our size but best us with equal numbers. We’ve gone through a lot of changes over the months and are still kicking and having fun
