Havent learnt to play the mapit’s sad how people rather QQ than simply adapting their build (which is prob meta and copied off sombody else) to be more effective on the new map, everyone class has CC’s and it shouldn’t be too hard to understand not to fight by edges.

YES, it’s an awesome map, i love it. People who are QQing just need to learn to position properly. Viable map for Tpvp, makes for some interesting plays and comebacks too.
My favourite map so far, instatripple killing people is so much fun. It’s totaly viable for competitive Tpvp. Yeah, I’m a necro, U MAD? ;p
I find it funny that this post is coming from you Purie. Not so long ago i overheard you on a stream saying that you hated everything about the necromancer and that you did not want to play the profession. What has changed since then that made you make this post about necromancer not being op? My knowledge is that you have been playing necromancer consistently after the patch was released. The profession mechanics did not change, so why are you now so obsessed with playing a profession that you dislike?

Altough i agree with some points you made in your original post, with enough experience (and enough lifeforce) you never had to ‘kitten’ in your pants if you see X class coming at you, and with proper support the necro was always good in teamfights. Necro was always fairly balanced, just needed a slight boost in sustain and survivability.
Good read, you make some very good points. Imho we need a defensive boost to truly be an attrition class but our condi damage needs to be toned down a bit. Making ‘doom’ shorter again would help a lot. And maybe make dhuumfire proc less.
After a very constructive discussion with djooce and vuh, i have to say i changed my mind, they made some really good points that i fully agree with. So ye, necros might need a nerf, fear in a condi spec has become a bit too overpowered. But on the other hand boost their survivability just a bit more so they can truly be an attrittion class.
I disagree, just let people get used to the new toys we got, it’s all very easy to counter and necro’s can still get CCchained easily. Necros were always able to condi burst someone from 100-0 with a good combo. We are viable for competitive PvP now, but by no means OP. I would say good job anet, necros finally got what they deserved.

I have 900 tournament wins with necro and can’t remember the last time i lost a 1v1. If you don’t mind i would duel you when you have the time.It’s the rage talking, got feared to death from 100-0 with 24k hp
You have allowed to let the necro stack bleeds, poison and burn on you for a while (a while = enough time to take out a condi glass cannon) before he feared you, otherwise a drop from 24k to 0 hp would not be possible, unless you lack skill. Unlike you, this is not the rage talking, it’s reason. And try to control your rage, before openly insulting people.
It takes djooce 3-4sec to get 12stacks of blee,d poison, weakness, burn, chill + the first fear

Partly true, I would say it has become easier to kill people, it is now on par with other classes, wich is a good thing imho.

What I will agree upon is that multiple terror necro’s on a team are a royal pain in the butt to deal with. Class stacking is bad no matter what class it is.
What I find funny is that necro’s didn’t suddenly get more bleeds, more poison, more fear or anything else. They did get Torment but it’s a long cooldown, doesn’t last very long and it’s damage really isn’t even that great. People just aren’t used to playing against necro’s. All the cries of fear/terror being OP are just silly as this is something necro’s have ALWAYS had.
Necro’s still have the same problems they had before. No mobility, no vigor, no way to disengage, no way to chase down etc. They are just as squishy as they have ever been.
I said this, when multiple necros they just put one at their back point. Spectral wall can not be avoided by everyone. As a thief I can telelport past it, not everyone can. If you get feared into a wall, you are basically dead. And necros have burning, the burning ticks for like 600 for 4s. That and all the other conditions plus terror is basically a dead thief, or mesmer, or anything else that has the go far point.
I will give this more time to ease into, but trying to cleanse, what 7 or 8 conditions as a thief is near impossible.
Dude, if necro is useing terror and burninr, then he is probobly in glass cannon spec and will go down in no time.

Necros were still competitively viable, you just had to build your comp based around them, and conditions in general. Now any brainless moron can play a necro and get away with it thinking they are good. Just sit on a back point and win 1v1s all day.
Someone can run triple necros because there is hardly little way to punish that. Necros are very immobile but like I just said, if they keep one on their back point it does not matter.
And I believe it is more terror’s damage, than the condis. You take more damage from terror each condition you have on you. Necros have every condition in this game.
The fact that necros can condi burst better after the patch doesn’t mean they are suddenly OP now. Just give it some time and learn how to counter it.

I know the feeling, soloQ is hell. It also seems like there is more volatility in going down as opposed to going up in the leaderboards, you can drop from rank 200 to 85 prcent in 3 matches but it takes ages to get up again. Necros are not OP though, just finally viable for competitive pvp.

I play mostly PvP in GW2 and would like to know if the Holographic Shattered Dragon Wing Cover can be applied on the Guild Back Banner for PvP. (If not I won’t invest my time in getting the 10 achievements for the wings. )
Or is there maybe another way to use a that ‘wing backpack cover’ in Pvp that i am not aware of, since in pvp there are no real backpacks to apply a cover to (except maybe the banners).
It would be much appreciated if anybody knew the answer to this question.

Other (Anything else that you would like to add): I like to play my own one of a kind power-well build, optimised to my play style. If need be, i can ofcourse play as a condinecro. Can’t always use TS in the late evenings since i am living with sleepyheads.
When i play with premades my rank usually fluctuates around 300, when my rank is lower it is due to a yoloQ overdose. (I am not available between 14/5 and 17/5.)

You are right thieves suck and should get a buff, I eat them for breakfast with my necromancer GC , easy kills, they are like rabbits in pvp, you sneeze at them and they die. Even the rank 40+ thieves in paids are easy targets.
A lot of people play the Warrior, as they are one of the most forgiving professions at the moment. You can make mistakes and still pull out a victory.
I would place classes in their prospective categories as such:
Novice Skill Level – Warrior, Guardian and Necro
Moderate Skill Level – Ranger, Elementalist and Engineer
High Skill Level- Thief and MesmerPeople will probably disagree with this, but I am basing this off of forgivibility in combat. Those Novice professions you can make quite a few mistakes and still win, but the High Skill profession will punish you severely if you blow a CD at the wrong time and you will lose.

Why AOE should not be nerfed:
in WvW:
being able to hit huge zergs with some decent damage: if there isn’t enough damage, the zerg can outheal/outprotect each other = boring fights
also you have to be more carefull not to stand in bottlenecks to much = more
dynamic gameplay
in PVE: i do not see the problem at all in PVE, what are they even talking about, some classes use single target dps and have high spike damage. other classes or builds focus more on AOE,it is fine
in sPvP: AOE is just fine in PvP, i like that you have to watch out for it, again more dynamic teamplay, also rezzing SHOULD be risky, if you want ur mate to live, deal with the AOE, pop some protection and stability and rez. I also like that you can punish players for making a real solid block together, with decent hitting aoe you can disperse them, even in paid tournaments that is a good thing.
ALso AOE is balanced in itself because it has longer cd’s and casting times.
ANd yes you can use AOE on a single target but it is all about positioning, if u hit multiple targets you get rewarded, if not u do pretty low dmg overall, don,ttell me you can do high damage with any aoe on a single target, not as high as a warrior or thief
Very VERY few people were complaining about high AOE dmg because 1 it is how it should be, AOE should be doing decent damage
Focus on getting the BUGS out first that should be your top priority, don’t fix what 99 prcent of the gw2 players have no trouble with. the same amount of players do however have a problem with bugs

I agree that scaling an AoE damage vs the number affected is probably the best way to go about this. In return AoEs should be allowed to hit slightly more targets.
Absolutely not,themore targets u hit the weaker it would become, froma pvp point each person could overcome the done damage much easier, people would try to land their aoe on as few targets as possible to get some pressure on the opposing team, where is the logic in that
Of all my friends and guildies, I literlly don’t know anyone wo agrees with a nerf of AOE. It’s weak as it is, i have a necro and an elementalist, some aoe on my ele is pretty strong but it shouldnt be nerfed. A nerf on my poor UP necro would almost seem like dev trolling.
It serves no purpose, but to decimate your playerbase. So, just cancel that nonsense.
Learn from Warhammer online. They did the exact same thing and it only made things worse. Why? Melee trains, nuff said.
And instead of nerfing, buff the UP things. Balance is boring and, speaking directly, you’ll never reach e-Sports. It’s just beyond your grasp. So just make the game more fun by buffing Engis/Necs/Rangers instead of whittling the game Down to Guardians n Warriors 2(GW2).
Some heartfelt concerns from a GW1 fan. If you continue Down this road, which I fear to thread, you’ll have lost a customer(and sooner than you think!).
Please forego the AoE nerf and wild goose chase that is e-Sport and focus on the true qualities of the game(and of the franchise).

Its posts like this that makes me believe that stealth classes really do attract the worst kind of MMO player. If you can’t kill it with impunity, if it can counter you in any way, and if you can’t do it while getting away scott free, then it MUST be bugged/OP/broken/underpowered.

They would be pretty stupid to nerf the necromancers AOE, they are underpowered as it is. If they nerf the necro at this point i quit the game, maybe if they fixed some bugs first…
