Once Pulmonary is on your target, it will ignore blind, evade, block, even range. The ways to really not take the hit will be through invulnerability, damage inversion (ala Defiant Stance), or damage reduction (protection, Endure Pain).
You could technically land a Pulmonary and if you’re quick enough, activate Basilisk Venom for an unblockable/evadeable stun when it pops… Or use your dodge with Evasive Empowerment to increase the damage. So headshot will be pretty overpowered with this trait huh?
As always, things are open to change. If this playstyle is too strong, we’ll have to adjust it. There’s a possibility that it shouldn’t stack intensity, or maybe its damage is too high, or a variety of other ways that it could be adjusted. We want it to have strong play and also feel rewarding, while not being the ‘only’ thing that you seek to do in order to deal damage. We’re looking forward to seeing how it works for you during the beta weekend.
If you do decide change it instead of removing its ability to stack or reducing its damage, limit the number of stacks. Maybe 3 which I think would be around 7k. But please don’t change it. o.o
Or perhaps making successive PI strikes do less damage within a set amount of time.
Please tell me I’m not the only person who thinks of Kilik from Soul Calibur.
Beggars can’t be choosers. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. :P
Upgrading Staff from 3 to 5 targets would be a good start on differentiating it.
This is what I want.
Can I prepurchase now and get access to the beta? I was on the fence about pre purchasing cause I wanted to see what the deal was for thief, but now I’m pretty confident in getting it.
I believe so, yes. Not 100% certain on that piece of info tho xD
This is how I imagine Thief in a 1vX fight:

Here is my answer to that question:
Please re-include the Orders in the story!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Waterseer.7089
Please consider re-including the Orders in the Heart of Thorns storyline. Not the Pact, but the Orders themselves.
I also want the lesser races of Tyria involved as well in the storyline (Hylek is kinda-sorta there in the BWE). I personally liked being involved with the lesser race I chose, and would like to do again, but this time have it be more involved with the HoT arc.
Haha, in that sense, you could abbreviate Berserker as BS Warrior (tee hee). Though it will probably default to ‘zerker’. I do agree DD and D/D are extremely similar and many can get confused in the differentiation. And I, too, also hope that the line is good as well. Although, given the track record of the Thief profession in the past and seeing where it is now. I’m extremely skeptical.
“More likely”, or “leaked” does not equal confirmed (I see this everywhere and it bugs me). Some people think it alludes to Matthew Murdock as Daredevil in the Marvel series, when it’s also actually a legitimate word in the English language. I consider everything placeholder in nature until confirmed. This is how I feel about the name, as well as how I feel about our new weapon. I’m so burned out on everything that has to deal with HoT Thief speculation that I honestly don’t care what weapon we get anymore, let alone the elite specialization title.
Some questions about upcoming features of HoT

3.) Regarding the Map Rewards we saw on Beta Weekend 1 – do tracks actually reset after completion or its a daily based reward?
Hopefully this reddit thread will help answer that question:

I’ll take 2!

It even comes with sound effects!
I don’t want to play an OP class but a versatile class. Atm is not possible, too limited role, there is a lack of defense and builds.
This.
A long time ago there was some sort of poll regarding how you like to see your characters’ role in the story line. I’m unsure if this poll was ANet sponsored, or if some third party did it, but I seem to remember that majority of people preferred to not be in the lead role, yet wanted to have special recognition. I believe this was fulfilled in the personal story (though I’m sure some people argue not).
I personally like Trahearne’s character. People feel they want the sole recognition for the personal story, but I feel they’re not taking into account all of the other things that were happening in conjunction and the number of other characters that were involved. But since you’re the player, it seems like you’re doing all the work because you’re actually involved in what you’re doing; every other character is just an NPC.
In Destiny’s Edge 2.0, they gang calls you “Boss”, and you seem to be the one in control of everything that’s happening. And while being the center of attention is neat and all, we cannot forget everyone else involved in the endeavors starting all the way back from the start of season 1 living story to now.

So can you still obtain the Star of Gratitude? I still have the letter in my bags (never deleted it). But it’s August now so I’m unaware if they have changed it since OP. I can’t seem to find Laine nor Grawnk…
I would like to bump this. Happened to my group last night, after spending a very extended amount of time in the dungeon to get there. Very demoralizing to say the least.

Good job guys, and many thanks to Tarnished Coast for the help and guidance.

Bump also does the +5% critical sigil stack?
I would like to know this as well.
Realize that, if you stay in the combo field long enough, you can move outside of it and still be in stealth.
Spam heartseeker until you have no initiative … and then what?
If we have no initiative, that gives us no resource to use our other abilities, which in my personal opinion, are just as useful as heartseeker.
Agreed, our high damage output is only thwarted by the fact that we are super-squishy.
Here she is. The screen shot was in hi-res, but forums don’t allow bmps
Where did you find this set of Armor!?
It’s not necessarily the active that rubs me the wrong way, it’s the passive movement speed. I find it rather annoying that it only works if you going straight, or strafing while going forward.
All things considered, though, I do agree the active is a little lame.
