DB doesn’t have a strong NA crew. It’s a SEA crew as people already know. From what a few of my Mag buddies told me when I inquired about the addition of the JQ guilds, is that those guilds weren’t spectacular in and of themselves (no offense to those guilds). And having fought DB quite a bit when I was on Mag, they kind of like to get rowdy and will push whatever server they see fit.
If DB’s NA crew isn’t strong then please tell me that these JQ guild moving there are all NA.
I’m almost worried now for reset that we will log on and see barley any DB.
Or maybe, just maybe this is come kind of nefarious SU disinformation campaign designed to suck the morale out of our hungry troops that have been promised battle and glory!!
Kinda curious why these guilds would transfer to a server that has won their tier for the past 6 weeks in a row…Trying to cultivate Dragonbrand and work your way back to T1? Guild members need map completion? Just bored of the current T1 matchup?
I mean, doesn’t seem like you went for the challenge, adding ~400 players to an already winning server…Unless you really are trying to work your way back to T1 for a new fight. In that case, I hope you make it back, so there might be more diversity in T1.
Allot of our core members wanted to see whats out there. We’ve been in JQ for such a long time since beta and wanted to see what the T2 matchups can offer since they house some of the best fielding guilds. Also, diversifying the competitive brackets. A win, win, win situation.
And kudos on your decision sir. I don’t quite understand the hostilities on you and yours moving to DB but regardless, it will be a ton of fun.

Well sadly, the KN diplomatic/lawyer unions became furious over the contract they signed and the result was obvious and predictable. Chaos, stabby,stabby chaos that has ended in severe and sustained damage to KN as a whole.

It’s better to just go ahead and xfer some where rather than stay and have your members slowly depleting. By this, you’re getting rid of the unloyal members and finding out who your core members are. Big things coming ahead for RISE. Can’t lie though, I’m gonna miss open field battles with BT, VK, RET, PiNK, PRO, etc. Epic times. Epic moments. TC and Kaineng were “allies” in regards to how we viewed each other – respect and sportsmanship. Certainly we weren’t allies on the battlefield – my fond thoughts of TC as a server sure didn’t stop me from smoking them, nor did it keep them from planting a spike in my head at times. Not entirely sure why anyone would blow that out of proportion and make it seem like we’re the U.S. and Britain in WWII. On the battlefield, red is dead, as it’s meant to be.
When you start saying that an ally is no longer useful to you it implies something more than a buddy partnership going on. Not that the entire server felt that way about KN. I mean, if you real life friend moves away, do you say “well, theyre useless to me now?” I am sure most people keep in contact as best they can, and not worry about how useful that friend is to them.
GW2 is like any product on the market. The create it, sell it and improve it as they see fit. In turn customers will like it or hate it, play it or move on.
Pick your reasons for liking the game and continue playing, or pick your reasons for hating it and move on.
The key words are “continue playing” and " move on". Simple stuff.

To the other TC commander who feels the need to constantly complain, your name doesn’t come to mind but you know who you are. I think your time would have been better spent in doing what you wanted to do and safely run away from the battles to take POI on the other side of the map.It’s not like anyone had you tied to a tree or anything.
Today in WvW we were following a commander while on TS3 and another one was there following him too. The other commander was not on coms and refused to take off his tag when asked. This caused us to lose ten golems in a stonemist push as the other commander did not push when we needed to causing half of our numbers to be confused and ultimately lose our opportunity to make the push. Is this something that is reportable? The other commander did nothing to help and effectively cause a fifty man group to have to repair.
WvWvW ma kitten ectioned off in quadrants. If the number of players from a server exceeds a predetermined number,say 50 people in that quadrant. Then they are flagged for FULL LEWT should they die!!!!!
If we had spies on TC – They would be pretty crummy spies, all things considered, lol
We have an entire guild of spies on TC. Not sure if they belong to you but our spies, whoever they are really need to go to the same siege re-targeting, golem cliff diving school that the ones on TC went too.
Have it laddered like in GW1 tournaments, you can only do every 3 hours and your score places you against similar skilled opponents.
Saint, I would say, if it were up to me that if you made it every 12 hours on a per account basis then agreed, fire it up.
Then people could treat it like a daily event, something they could look forward to without destroying WvWvW.
Have you tried whispering your opponents to see if you could work something out to get the POI?
I know people had the same problem that your having in our tier when Kain held the maps, Kaineg was contacted via whispers or on the boards and arranged for the people to get the POI before reset.
Ask, many people wont have a problem with it.
If someone from x guild says something about us here. We simply respond with ‘Okay so I guess you want to 20v20 right?’
Apparently even if the things being said are positive.
Positive or negative it’s the weakest tea response that can be given in this game. Completely unimpressive and very telling on how people who give such responses hold up in WvW.
The fact that a guild can put together 20 active players on a regular basis in WvW and still carry on with that mantra is, for lack of a better word, pathetic.
I would imagine that if 20 people maybe paired up with 10-20 others outside their guild to actually play WvW then they would have zero problems finding battles on most any map if they cannot seem to cut it with the 20 they have from their own guild.
Don’t get me wrong, there are a number of people/guilds who enjoy the sterile GvG thing so it’s all good as long as it doesn’t cut into what the game is about, WvW.It’s just when those who fail to impress in WvW who use it as some sort of laughable threat over and over and over again is where it becomes an ongoing joke.
Actually Mif, I think WM started doing other things when KN was still on top. Not to say that WM was all KN had but they did play in a timezone where nobody could stop them at the time that resulted in a pretty hefty loss of PPT.
I think they just ran their course and some will now break off to try other things. I have nothing but kudos for KN, loved fighting those guys.

You do know that there is little to no drama within DB right? They have been rebuilding since their last major exodus, and to claim that they are newly reformed, and that you’re a ‘rep of the server’ less than a week after transferring, and derailing our matchup thread, rather than just send them a message is kind of a little uncomfortable.
With out WM, Kaineng would never gets back in to Tier 2 again.

CHIPS, sorry to hear of the disarray going on in KN. From the sounds of it, it’s quite eye opening.
I don’t think anything is terribly wrong with the game however and wouldn’t use a huge guild like WM as a barometer. Huge guilds staying together is a feat in itself, having a number of them wanting different things is expected but not really a read on the game itself IMHO.
However it shakes out, take care.
Sorry to see Kaineng start to weaken. It was great to really get to see you guys blossom when you finally hit your true tier with us so many weeks ago during BG/KA/TC. Your NA had an uphill battle most of the time with WM anchoring overnight, but you guys always put up a great fight and never stopped defending. Good luck to you, whether you transfer or stay!

UO was a great game and my first mmo.
Then they changed it up and it died quickly. Like many who played it I grinned to have the best gear in the game, than overnight they changed the game.

What was your first game? I remember a post apocalyptic, turn based game I used to play by telnet to a BBS service, as internet was not available yet. I played some mud’s in the late 80’s, but by BBS it was too expensive/limited, so just dabbled. The first internet based MMO I played a lot was ElendorMUSH which I joined in 1991. I believe it is still in operation.
First video game: Pong.

You know Silver. There was a time where me and my friends would spend hours in bars and would pay 25 cents a throw to play pong, asteroids and space invaders, the latter that still holds the most irritating sound award of any game ever made.

All the time. Not to mention no queues to occasional short queues on borderland maps.
EB seems to have queues quite often in the evening. Reset days there are queues across the board in most cases, some that can last quite awhile.
FABL all day yesterday never had a queue or at least when i would log and come back throughout the day. Hence, while we aren’t outmanned we aren’t filled up either.
My first was Ultima Online… I made a bad mistake roleplaying a nice reagent gatherer frolicking through the words. Yes, the stuff that powers the magic spells, on someone unarmed, away from the guards.
Hah hah hah, UO on release… epic ganking. I still feel bad at some of the things I did in that game, it was a little too much freedom all at once in my gaming environment
Ultima Online, to this date, the best game ever to grace the planet for the reasons you mentioned Niim.
I think people misunderstand running away…
It’s fighting on our terms- not yours!
I have seen many times, zurgs on either sides, be it TC, KN or FA, take out a larger zurg just by having position on the battle field. WM for Kain did this very well for a time, until we found the way counter them.
TC very rarely runs away! (except for a backup commander or two) We position ourselves for the best chance to succeed! Even if the numbers are against us.
Smart commanders do this repeatedly!
Taking into account terrain, location or distance from spawn, possible choke points and classes of people that are running with them. A good commander knows how many Eles, mesmer, guardians, warriors etc.. he has with him. It makes a huge difference on where they will do battle. Not to forget, the trusted scouts around the maps, giving detailed info on the other team movements.
TC’s success, has been the growth of our commanders understanding this.
Weekly practice for militia and smaller guilds to learn our strategy and why we do things the way we do is helping greatly. Something a commander does not have the time to explain during the thick of battle.
Sab that’s right on the money. I think when people mention the other side running, what they are saying is "We got all these combos/finishers up and running, 458 necro rings arounds us and the people who chose to reposition themselves and not run into it are just gutless noobs. shrugs
And then there are the people who can’t count for beans, try to toss ratios out there like 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 when the numbers are pretty much even.Happens all the time.

This has been made abundantly clear over the last month.
There have been many that have and continue to act like an petulant child, and many of us on TC have turned the other cheek ignoring the insults, and backhanded compliments, but there came a point, a least for me, where I no longer felt the need to stay silent.
Many of the people I play with on TC are now into our third decade of gaming in the MMO genre. We’ve played full loot, asset destruction games where a forum war had direct and immediate in-game consequences. And most relevantly we’ve played the game of forum-war, over and over and over again.
Point being, TC is in game winning the WvW war. See Scoreboard.
If you really want to have a forum war, I’m game too.
It just killed four hours of this work day, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I think that due to Silver’s geographical location, there is no fresh air out there to get.

I also don’t think the average FA player much cares if, after one week, the score says we’re in first or not. The truth is for about five and a half weeks this match up was what all WvW match ups should be- it was close and competitive. Sure TC took home some victories, and Kaineng took home some victories, and Fort Aspenwood got to take home “also ran” ribbons, but from week to week the outcome wasn’t set in stone and it always seemed like one server kicking it into high gear for one 24 hour period was all it’d take for them to overtake the opposition.
Then TC got transfers, and Kaineng got some people hopping off early on what looks like the last stop of it’s meteoric rise. Now this tier isn’t the most balanced and competitive.
Sure maybe FA could get the geeks out to develop and assign duties via work breakdown structures to maximize our ability to hold down and upgrade important structures and if we stuck to it for the rest of the week we could take second in this match up, but by slightly more points than our current trajectory predicts, but I don’t think FA is paying anybody enough to bother with that.
Being From FA all I care about is what TC and Kaineng thinks about me, I mean how else can I sleep with such a heavy burden on my mind?
Try some over the counter sleep aids. If the trauma that your suffering is too great then try hypnosis to have it erased from your mind.
Sleep is very important.Lack of sleep can create delusions and/or hallucinations.
Sleep deprivation due to not having respect from you peers is very serious. I for one wish you the best in overcoming this problem.
Little word of advice to you FA: respect your opposition if you wish your opposition to respect you.
Hard to respect anyone running from fights on a regular basis. I just hope T1 has more fighting oriented guilds than FA so that when they pvdoor everything TC owns you have nowhere to run to… forcing you to have “meaningless fights”.
Oh brother, get over yourself bud. It was just yesterday or the day before that 20+ FA, including some BT waypointed, in mass while on the run from a fight near GreenLake. BT is a fine guild and all of that but your really,really,really giving yourself way to much credit on the running away speel. It’s old hat not to mention that I never see it happen.
Anyhow, onward.
I’m curious to see if tier 1 is that much further ahead of tier 2. TC would be a measuring stick of sorts.
As I would personally like to give T1 a shot Furious, I don’t see it happening any time in the near future.
From what I hear with the never ending queues going on in T1 it would be a whole new world being we don’t usually have queues, or long queues aside from reset night. It would be nice to test their metal though.
I think in FA we genuinely do just play for the laughs.
However, nobody at all wants to drop down to t3 (who I’ve spoken to anyway), so I think this week we’ll be a bit more PPT conscious. The fights in t2 are too much fun
And I think FA did an outstanding job of getting back in it. There is no doubt the three way horse race between KN/DB/FA has those involved on pins and needles.FA is rising to the occasion, there is no taking that away from them.

As far as the facerolling.I’m guessing your on a different timezone other than NA because 75% of those battles have not gone well for you on FABL outside us trying to take your garrison.
Now there is one thing that I worry about on TC. Traditionally when we open up such a large lead on our opponents to the extent that they are no longer a threat we tend to relax, do a dungeon or two, work up a new toon, hang out and rp at the hotsprings or in the bars etc..etc…etc.
My worry Tears is that you have crossed the non threat threshold. Stories of battles and conquest are running rampant in the bars.I fear many of us are cozing up to the ale instead of our weapons.
FA has been consistently judged by its forum warriors…I can guarantee the FA trolls won’t stop…
Enough of it left an icky taste with me and combined with some pleasant interaction with some TC forum people and a lack of actual attachments to FA and I bounced over to see what things were like.
2 hours is a hilarious small sample size, but it was pleasant. Less salty, angsty, spazzy. All I saw in chat was numbers and movements and all clears. I saw people responding to the info. I saw people hanging out manning siege no where near the action.
I saw an odd guild recruitment message. I’m assuming it’s a guild for charr, what with the fur and all.
I joined FA because a few people I knew, 3 steps removed from the people I knew from WoW, said they played on it. And they then said they never really play once I started playing. My time with FA and two of the guilds there has convinced me that I should just do my thing alone for now.
The thing that made me finally move, after all my “just play” talk was the fact that a 30 man zerg can just roll up your home Borderland all the way to Spiritholme and NO ONE called it out. Maybe it was said in voice coms, maybe, but still no one was there.
I was hot, after upgrading the camp, since I’m cheap and all. I remember FA as being more functional a month ago.
I’m in that self justification mode now, but the grass seems greener on TC through my rose colored glasses that cost $20 in gems. Maybe WvW and people’s bandwagoning is how ANet knew they’d make bank instead of monthly subscriptions.
Its an extremely dangerous process and something unfit for the public forums.

And that’s why I’m in a guild of me! Way subjective and way objective but the numbers in my case is a confirmed one. And I was easy. To confirm. Mostly thief.
I will say that TC’s WvW map chat seems very sparse and focused. I only saw one negative comment in 2 hours and only those involved knew what the context of that was. Even the furry guild recruitment thing seemed to get glossed over quickly.
Mostly it was use max info, min typing. Gods know I need lessons with that. And learning the names. Green lakey campy thing.
PS Empty out your guild bank if you’re a guild of one before you transfer. Many rares died for this information. Not that they weren’t going to die in the Mystic Forge eventually, but still…

Obviously Whitebeard wasn’t around for FA taking most of TC and KN borderlands this morning. Gained a good 5K lead over KN and set back both server’s upgraded keeps. Love us or hate us FA is here to stay.
