Not sure why this is sad. Practically no server wants to fight for weeks against a vastly more numerous foe. Being backed up to the legendaries EVERY DAY might seem like fun looking down from BG but trust me it sucks. There is no challenge or competition in T2 any longer and it sucks for everyone in it including SoS.

So to sum up, the Dragonbrand position is that DB could have made Gold, but tanked so an even less able server has to spend the tournament facing Gold-level teams instead of DB. It’s disgraceful on so many levels, and the ability of people to rationalize such behavior as a somehow valid strategy is mind-boggling.

BTW: DB has lost two of its top WvW guilds so far due to this decision. And the enticement of trying to buy new guilds for DB has opened the door for scammers asking people for gold to go toward moving people to DB. If you’ve given gold to someone for this purpose, I’d recommend asking that it be returned, and reporting the scammer if they refuse.

lul wut? DB hasn’t lost any guilds, and actually just transferred over a large wvw guild, and another smaller one due to the decision to stay out of gold league..

90% of wvw players on the server are excited to take on other servers of similar skill and size in T3, because its fun to have good fights and close matchups and not get wiped…

I was there for the aftermath of season 2 (and the start, when so many guilds transferred over to fight in gold on DB, but friggin never saw them in the maps after week 2 because they couldn’t handle the massive blobs the T2 servers had around).. we lost 6-7 guilds after season 2 and our wvw community was destroyed. now we finally got it built back up and we don’t want it to happen again..

this isn’t about loot or winning, we just want close competition, and the thing we all play games for…FUN

Considering you followed up a post that mentioned one of them, AKD, the other is dawn.

Previously, the story was we lost 3 guilds, now it’s 6 or 7? Of the 3 guilds in the original tale, at least 2 of those did not leave due to the bad season. I can’t speak to the 3-4 additional ones, as this is the first I’ve seen of this number.

But losing guilds (whether true, or a pack of lies) is neither here nor there. You can’t build a quality server community on a foundation of throwing matches.

yes AKD left, but went to DR which is lower than us because DR is loading up to win silver league.. so I think AKD found their own 100% way to avoid gold league.

but again its about fun and close fights.. not outmanned and outcoveraged.. that’s what people want

I meant dying in the last post, and that sums it up. We as players are logging in…. And Anet will make a new, Crappy, Instance that gives some lame cosmetic reward for a few hours of their “new” content? At least try too hold the attention of the new guy. If not he hooks up with the cheerleader.

Anytime an MMO has a half off sale it’s bad. The die hard players are going “Say, I payed twice as much for this crap?” The people that are thinking of buying must ask themselves “Say, Why are they cutting the price in half, do they need the business?” Either way, it’s a slap in the face of the ones that already paid.

Colly said it right…WvW is not conducive to ANet. They make no moneys on the development. Overall the game is starting too die(point in case: They gave new players half off the game)

If you just want to solo camps then pvt with a great sword. Make sure you have full bloodlust. Quick and easy.

How can ANET figure out a way to make these matchups more even? I don’t know, friends and I have thought it through and through and we cannot come up with a fair idea to ensure there are even numbers out there in WvW.

I will say, FA outnumbering us but was still very fun because they actually used some pretty neat tactics and you could tell they were well organized. Myself and I’m sure a lot of other Yak’s learned a good deal from the matchup and I’m proud of how well we did overall despite being outnumbered most of the week.

SBI is a whole different story, I don’t really see much of any tactics being displayed, despite being outnumbered 2 and sometimes 3 to 1 odds we’ve won quite a few battles however the SBI zerg is just overwhelming. What I’m really confused about, is why if we are queued up, and then get into the zone, are we still outnumbered 3 to 1. I’m thinking if we have a queue it means we have max amount of people out there but once in, that is definitely not the case.

I don’t understand the point to all of this if we are going to lose by default due to sheer numbers. Again, hats off to Yak’s, we’ve fought very well considering the odds and it is funny to see an SBI zerg of 50 running from about 30 of us with their tails between their legs.

We actually thought you Yak’s would put up a better fight. We where wrong.

SBI will fall apart at the end of the season when they lose to Fort Aspenwood. That coalition was never that stable.
The way they wilted in the face of SoR was sad to watch, and the bizarre, convoluted scheme that took place was just ridiculous.

Trust us TC, you didn’t miss much.

Strange, because SoS doesn’t stop running until they have at least a 1:5 advantage.
