After some thinking about the main point of the OP… My takeaway is that we always will be dealing with the lowest common denominator in all the living story events. Constantly dealing with people acting stupid and a multitude of leechers and afkers. It would be one thing if I could do A SINGLE large-scale EVENT with my guild or friends without having to jump out to an overflow that is deserted. Being a player that has been with this game since launch. Today I put this game down. The afks and the leechers, but mainly the unfriendly overflow system, have ruined this game for me. Its not even the fact that i’m going to another mmo because i’m not. I’m just ceasing to waste my time on this one. Address this issue and i’ll reconsider. Otherwise, I find myself putting too much effort into trying to find some sense of organization and friendliness to this game and getting very little out of it.

P.S. I despise people who use hostage type arguments as I have here. In this case however, this is truly how I feel and it has had a profound effect on me and my gameplay.

Just read through all the posts. Poor Sniffy… Seems like he needs some attention. Doesn’t even put his tags in his posts. I’m well aware that trolls are like children, you encourage poor behavior simply by acknowledgement of it. But you can really tell we’ve gotten to that one. lol.

T8 is less zerg and more competency and competition. I wouldn’t leave it for the world. Kain is a great server for team-tactics and spirit.

Seems like I took vacation at the wrong time! Things seem to be really heating up. As cool as consolidating the skilled guilds of our WvW tier would be in terms of WvW progression, if you ever thought DR zergs were bad then you clearly don’t remember fighting Ehmry Bay or Darkhaven. As much as fighting outnumbered is a fun challenge, fighting servers with queue’s on all BG’s is horrendous. I like the ability for smaller guilds and groups to be able to make a difference without needing a zerg. That small group effectiveness will disappear outside of T8 and quite frankly there is absolutely no incentive to move up a tier aside from masochism.

I’ll be that little nuisance of a guardian, erecting ram tombstones for the dead enemies of Ferguson’s Crossing till the end. Looking forward to fighting alongside Trx in a few weeks!

I’m sorry Sol. LARP’s thieves aren’t noobs and they don’t intentionally abuse the culling issue. Their charr thief is no noob by any stretch of the imagination. It seems you’re just frustrated at culling and getting dominated by LARP in general. I get it man, when i’m on my alt I get frustrated with fighting good players too like anyone else but your post is just crying.

I destroy thieves on a consistent basis, even good ones. Learn how to fight them properly. Use tab / understand that skills still work on them / use retaliaton / use wards or pbaoe / use daze

Glad the forums have turned around too. My bloodlust for PRO has subsided too (along with all my tombstone rams) as new enemies have earned my ire for attacking my homeland (GOLD and KAIN). I also realize the huge zergs will ebb and flow, I just hope the numbers on Ferguson’s crossing don’t explode again while i’m away for the month. I now see PRO as a good opportunity for Devona’s players of all tiers to learn and grow . I also enjoy making a B-line for whoever that PRO charr with the Phasor rifle is. When he’s around I know that PRO’s A-team is typically around too and I know i’m in for a fun fight lol.

And credit he deserves. Not only did you guys have the team capacity to do several objectives at once, but you also did them quickly and efficiently with only some 5-10 men. I tried to get up a treb, so you had members cutting off supply and watching for Yak’s before they could reach our keep. I finally got up a treb, so you devised a distraction that we couldn’t resist and attacked the treb when we were split up. Whenever you challenged us on common ground, which is what we wanted, you ensured that siege weaponry was be able to influence the outcome. You realized we wanted confrontation so you kept it on your terms. I was so frustrated that I stayed up well beyond my bedtime to try and take that tower, I didn’t get that tower LOL.

Meh, you may have eventually lost it but it served it purpose for sure. I forget the other guild that was there working with you tho, they were a big help too.

Well done tonight Kaineng [Kings of Kaineng] in FC Borderlands. We shut you down at your keep siege of Etheron Hills with our party of three (plus a one or two random zerglings) but you more than got revenge on us at Bluelake. We had fewer numbers but we simply couldn’t get it together to kick you guys out. Fully shut us down strategically, Bravo. We won’t be so easy to split up next time, be sure of that. Did Draygo have a hand in that one?

To be honest, the wrong people seem to be getting up in arms here. I enjoy fighting NoQQ and LARP and I have no ill will toward them. Only respect. I believe they are highly skilled players. Each of the elite guilds has their own play-style at which they accel at. Just because someone isn’t the best at 1v1 or defending against a 10-man blitzkrieg doesn’t mean they don’t have a place here to be considered “good”. Some people are specialized to synergize with groups much like Revcornelis has said. I can’t tell you how difficult it is for the average guild to synergize properly with their fellow gorupmates and having team players on your side is critical. ENVY is a small group of guys who excel at 1v1 and small-group attrition warfare that is set up to battle zergs. I feel LARP is similar in this respect. LARP and a few members of WAR have been the only ones to participate in friendly 1v1 with us for fun and that was great. NoQQ is amazing at small/medium-scale guerrilla warfare and I’m commonly quoted as saying “Don’t even bother trying to split them up, they run as a tight knit group too well for that”. NoQQ is also the only group i’ve seen that knows to flank properly.

Personally, I only have animosity towards bro’ish guilds like PRO because i find their name to be highly ironic. But then again, zerg guilds too have a place i guess.

My strength lies in my guardian, but let me say that anyone that thinks being good at mesmer is easy is dead wrong. Many people just dont want to put the mental effort into tracking the mesmer much as people do the same for thieves. Sorry if beating a skilled player takes mental effort my friend.

Tonight: Despite the incursion by Kaineng (using golems mind you) into our Borderland coinciding with a massive Devona’s push. Myself and a small team of ENVY ventured into Kaineng, after our homeland had been secured, to help thwart the Devona’s menace from further destroying Kaineng morale (but mostly just to kill DR). It seemed as though our small team of 5 was was actually defending Kain’s keeps more than Kain itself was, in both effort and numbers. Seems you guys are having a massive fair-weather player exodus, and for that I am sorry to see = /.

Having just undergone surgery I’ve been playing with only my pointer finger on my left hand for the past week and will be taking a month off for travel now. May both Kaineng and Ferguson’s crossing have the best luck in weathering the Green storm without me for a while. Give’m hell and don’t give up!

Draygo, I won’t deny that attacking us is the tactically smart thing to do. But we may not have the numbers but we sure as hell have the skill and the will to protect our homeland!

I donno, about you guys, but I really enjoy fighting an enemy with more numbers (not like Darkhaven more numbers mind you). It makes it feel like a victory even holding your own borderlands. It makes it a challenge protecting your own fair weather players to ensure you have some residual defense when you log off. That said I still vote that more elite players join Ferguson’s crossing so that we may be the server of skill and will and let the numbers stay with other servers. Join the dark side, we have cookies.

SoS. As far as ENVY is concerned (and i’m pretty sure the whole server), we wouldn’t ally with DR for —anything-- even short term. For example, I like all the members of [TRX] but the fact that they are on Devona’s is still abhorrent to me and earns them kos status like the rest (Except Dank and Ozzy bc they rock). If anything I personally choose to kill DR over Kain in any three sided fight. Don’t give up just because DR decided to demoralize you guys on purpose. You still have NoQQ rolling around like a wrecking ball keeping up the fight but it seem’s their support has waned significantly from their allies. As we’ve seen from Chris Ivey from NP on Ferg’s side, singular guilds can accomplish great things, even without huge numbers.

uXa & FIST. Why DR? Its easy to join the winning team but any more tipping of the scales on Devona’s side will bump it to the next tier. Kaineng or Ferguson’s are both in dire need of skilled players.

Well shucks… I got my kitten handed to me last night! 95% it was by a larger force (which in fairness is all I attack) but there were some skilled players out there that gave me what-for in some smaller skirmishes. One [WAR] ranger and [Sos] engineer i fought 2v1 was also a good fight I lost but the Ranger would have made for a great 1v1 and give me a run for my money! [Btsy] got me a bunch of times while harassing the Devona’s and Kain zergs. The dudes won’t fight even if they outnumber you but they sure do show up the moment you’re otherwise disposed and the scales are wildly in their favor. Some would call it absolute cowardice and lack of skill to use a pure glass cannon heartseeker spec and only fight weakened opponents, but I guess that’s the point they’re going for. They ARE “thieves” after all, so i’ll take these buggers a little more seriously next time and take my lunch money back. #Slightlybutthurt hahah

Also, last night I saw some 1v1 dueling start up with [WAR], [ENVY], and myself that was some good fun. I’d love to see more of that! I’d be willing to put 50silver wagers (or any wager really) on the outcomes of the fights of anyone willing to challenge me to a duel. Lets turn the orchard into 1v1 arena gametime for greed and glory!

Here’s a few guilds that stand out to me as a challenge in small-scale situations.

On Devona’s:
Trx – Highly skilled groups, always fun to fight
Btsy – Incredibly frustrating thieves, and normally I don’t worry about thieves but these I tread carefully with.

On Kain:
iSpy – They seem fairly well coordinated, you can never find them alone or in small groups. A few of em are fairly good and tend to be a more difficult group to harass.

I felt I had more to list (esp for Kain) but as me and my ele guildie are so often 2v10 (and thoroughly enjoying being dedicated zerg harassers) we either decimate or are too busy moving as fast as we can to escape getting trampled. I only take mental notice of those guilds who are able to stalemate us or take us out so as to take them more seriously.

I was there!!!! To be completely honest, I think Ferg was outnumbered worse than Kaineng there. I was in a two-man party and we snuck up behind those catapults and took them out (probably after the seige). All in all, It was just a few of us fighting back. Most of those few hours It was only very small numbers of Fergs coming out with us. Admittedly we were expressly harassing zergs so many other Fergs thought we were crazy, so they may have been elsewhere. I did have outmanned buff most of last night in DR borderlands.

Anyone else on Fergie feel like our numbers are dwindling fast?"

From my experience, we have a lot of fair weather players. We also experienced a dropoff after the Darkhaven horde massacre. There are, however, a lot of people I see fighting through thick and thin.

I constantly am fighting [ispy], [WAR], [HOT], [Grey], [Aer] (with their super rogue duo awesomeness), and [RED]. Been some great fights. I sneak around in small groups like a cheetah picking off Kaineng and Devona’s Rest stragglers from the big offensives that Kaineng has been launching into Devona’s rest homeland.

I’ve been an active WvW player for a bit now on Ferguson’s Crossing and It feels like something’s changed in this common matchup. Objectively speaking, Ferguson’s is still the larger of the three, but this week’s matchup seems incredibly fitting. I’ve been having a blast in WvW these past few days because it doesn’t feel like a landslide in one direction or another. The battlefield map consistently looks like i had envisioned it should ideally look like. Also, I think Kaineng has really really stepped it up and really started kicking some kitten #8230; So here’s to you Devona’s and (Especially) Kaineng for supplying a proper WvW experience!!
