Mishi, a lot of us TC know SoR’s story and are genuinely enamored with your server. Twinbros doesn’t speak for us; we respect you guys and are doing our best to step up to your level of play.

^ Believe it or not, the server transfers are actually working us towards a more competitive league. Two months ago there were only three truly competitive servers. Today we can say with confidence that there are six, while a seventh and eighth are slowly emerging. It may seem that everyone is stacking onto the same one or two servers, but this actually isn’t the case. With each week, the top-tier population is becoming more and more dispersed throughout the ranks.

Green – Blue – Red
Green is usually on top with near or overwhelming control
Blue is struggling to maintain and hold what they have while giving pushes
Red is utterly destroyed with nearly nothing anywhere.

This is not an actual thing.

Mara, Tarnished Coast doesn’t need encouragement, to be honest. We may be lacking in certain areas, but our WvW team doesn’t quit, ever. People say we have “heart” and such, but honestly I think most of us just like to kill kitten; and the more outnumbered we are, the more kitten there is to kill. A lot of us stopped WvWing altogether last week because there was precious little left to kill after the first few days. So yeah…

Are people really still flogging this RUN beef? Akadios, who was the source of whatever grief there was, is gone. RUN has been putting in the work over at SoR for weeks now. Some poorly informed people wander over to the forum and start kicking up kitten over a dead beef that probably wasn’t theirs to begin with. Get over it already, forum scapegoating is classless, to say the least.

This thread has really devolved into some ridiculous kitten. What ever happened to losing graciously?

Our group of 9-10 proceeded to kill 100s of TC, I literally got about 40 kills on one sitting of an arrow cart, but in the end it didn’t net us much.

^ Haha, nice! I’ve been slowly leveling a human engineer, and even though I made her relatively tall in character creation, she still feels like squirt. Once you’ve played a Norn, everything else just seems so tiny!

Good morning everyone! Some of you may recognize me as Korynn Rainsinger, level 80 thief and TC stalwart. I’ve been fighting it out in WvW alongside my TC comrades since the first week of launch, and have watched proudly as we’ve grown and evolved from one week to the next. Until recently I was a member of EP, and though I have nothing but respect for the guild and its leadership, I came to the regretful conclusion that it wasn’t the right fit for me. After flying solo over the past week or so, I’ve decided to find a guild to shack up with for our impending return to Tier 3.

I’m a loyal, hardworking pvper with a solid understanding of WvW strategy. I have years of pvp experience under my belt, both as a common soldier and a guild officer. I’m not looking for any kind of leadership position or special treatment, I’m just hoping to find a guild of dedicated, like-minded pvpers to call home.

disclaimer: I have ventrilo and teamspeak, and have no problem with taking orders via voice comm. That being said, I don’t presently have a mic, and I don’t generally socialize in voice chat. If I have something to communicate in game, I do it in /team for everyone to see. Once I settle in with a guild, I most likely will get a mic and become more social, but this takes time. I’ve noticed that this kind of reservation is a deal breaker for a lot of guilds, so I just wanted to get that out of the way.

I’d buy skins outright for a reasonable gem price. I won’t be gambling with keys though, and I’m surprised so many people actually are.

Rather than comment on the philosophy behind town clothes, I’m just going to state what this thread seems to have made obvious: Anet cost itself a metric kitten ton of revenue by making them town clothes exclusive. I can live without the skin, no problem. But this is just bad business practice, and it really makes you wonder who calls the shots on this kind of stuff over there.

Tarnished Coast. Not only can we claim fighting spirit, but also the honor of being the only top ten server that achieves victory without the help of huge pvp guilds or super-alliances. When TC wins, we do it as a whole, everybody on our server contributes. We’re aware that most servers consider this kind of decentralization a weakness, but we take the stance that it is indeed a strength. TC players identify with TC, are proud of TC, and as a general rule are at least as loyal to the server as they are to their particular guild. We’re the scrappers and the stalwarts. Come check us out.

Congratulations to TC for a solid performance this week. In spite of the fact that we faced what seemed at times insurmountable odds from both of our opponents, we refused to falter, and are projected to actually move UP in the rankings tonight. I invite anyone, regardless of timeslot, to come join Tarnished Coast if you’re looking for a team of great pvpers with a never-give-up attitude.

CD beats both TC and DB in late night / early morning coverage by an extreme margin. I’m not taking anything away from CD’s primetime crew, because they are a beast of an opponent to face on their own. But the huge gap in points between CD and TC / DB can be attributed to the simple fact that both have an absolutely tiny morning presence. When CD is riding 600+ for a good eight hours a day, every day, the winner of the match is pretty much predetermined. And that’s fine, that’s part of the game. It just seems to be something that a lot of CD players seem unaware of.

there should not be any free transfers to the tier 1 servers. in fact no free transfers to the the top 3 tiers would be better.

I don’t think you understand the huge difference in coverage between tier 1 and 2, and tier 2 and 3. A tier 3 server has the same coverage as those in tiers 4 and 5.

Tsym is currently leading an exodus of organized WvW guilds from DB to SoS. It looks like DB is out of this race.

Actually, we were playing to win too. We didn’t focus on DB supply camps or CD supply camps. We focused on “that supply camp isn’t ours”.

Thank you for providing our point. Had you guys focused on CD you may have had a chance to come in 1st. We in DB knew that CD was the biggest threat of this match up from the Thursday before the match started. We had intended to primarily focous on CD. Had TC come to grips with that and realized this CD was the biggest threat you guys wouldn’t necessarily came in 2nd and could of been 1st. But your guys just taking things from DB cause its not your strategy cost you the match, as CD had a Vendetta out to get DB from day one as they hate us. So gg guys.

This is utter bs. We spent a good half of the match trying the best we could to avoid DB, making little to no progress against CD because every time we got a few feet deep into CD territory DB hordes started facechecking our structures. I basically spent from Saturday to Tuesday afternoon defending our EB holdings against an endless DB assault. So we finally got fed up with you and decided to repay you in kind, and that means that we played for second? YOU’VE been doing everything in your power to keep us in third, even when it meant losing mass points to CD. And when we finally decided to thank you for your kindness, you guys threw your hands in the air and gave up on the match. I’m totally unimpressed by DB’s performance this week. Your play was sloppy from the very first day, and you have no one to blame for your third place position except for yourselves.

I think TC EU/Oceanics can easily transfer to CD and be in a T2 server. NA guilds are welcome too but it might increase our queue from 30 mins to 1 hr. We are always looking to work with NA guilds and appreciate the fine work Oceanics do.

Recruiting in another server’s thread is so classy. Just adding to that sterling reputation Fang already has, I suppose. By the way, you’re currently enjoying 695+ in WvW. I don’t think you need more Oceanic/SEA players, you seem to have the time slot pretty well covered as it is.

If you want balance you should look to sPvP. WvW is never going to be balanced, and any attempts to make it so will simply fail. Why the obsession with making everything Even Steven? I don’t get it.

Let’s change things to protect fragile egos. Because that’s what pvp should be all about.

DB wants second so bad that they fought SM away from TC and then basically handed it to CD twenty minutes later. Impressive feat of mediocrity, to be sure.

^ And these are all things that should have been painfully obvious before you even transferred to SoS. They were to EP, Pink, TSG…

Or you could just craft the gear you want specifically, which is much, much easier.

It’s not an “exploit”, it’s a sound strategy for turning the battle to your favor. Get over it.

We also call wiping a group of opposing players “delivering the pizza.” It’s topical. We’re hungry people, mk?

People have been making this same complaint consistently for over a month. They haven’t even hinted that it’s something they plan to address, not as far as I’m aware. Looks like loot bags (along with abysmal drop rates) are here to stay.

The problem is that the game only rewards aggression. Defending will not net anywhere close to the badges/karma/loot as zerging. Running siege equipment actually costs you something. Repairing, or running supplies, or upgrading, all things that give no tangible ingame reward. Really, honor/karma/loot should be tied to your server’s progress and point advantage attained in WvW. The current system is, well, bad.

Last week it was around 20:30 est, if I remember correctly.

^ Off topic personal dissatisfaction? Speculating much? I’m just participating in the conversation, friend. The fact that you don’t like what I have to say doesn’t invalidate it.

SoS makes a thread, and it’s only for people that:

a) Have something nice to say about SoS
b) Want to talk about how TC is garbage and SoS would have no problem destroying us if only they had a few more people during prime time.

If someone shows up to counter such bizarre assertions, they are intruders with off topic personal dissatisfaction. And if you dare say that the good will between SoS and TC seems to be diminishing, you’re accused of being hateful and immature. Pardon me for pointing out the flaws and frenzy in some of the opinions presented here, I know dissent is a bummer.

^ They’re solidly convinced that they’re the better server. When we’re maintaining 100+ per tick far into the morning, they are destroying us and are obviously superior. When they manage 100+ for an hour or two any other time of the day, they’ve “smacked us in the face.” That 100k+ lead on points? That’s meaningless. Please keep your math out of it.

I respect that you are trying to get a NA presence on SoS, but honestly, Tarnished Coast is the server on the upswing. Oceanic players and guilds should move to TC. Proof below.

A lot of us, perhaps even most of the regular WvW team, have called the week done and are using the last couple of days to get PvE stuff done. What you’re facing is a skeleton crew holding down the fort until Friday night. Personally I’ve been getting up early and helping out our night crew when SoS is fielding the most people. You haven’t really done anything to write home about. I’m sorry, but it’s true. I wouldn’t even bother saying so if you didn’t use the expression “slap in the face” like you really did something shocking and impressive. Ridiculous self-assessment.

Because you say so? Alright then. Also, assuming that someone doesn’t kill much because he doesn’t suffer from some mass logout-on-f-bomb epidemic is silly. But I’m not here to flaunt my credentials. Saying that over 50% of players log out on downed state is ridiculous.

Would love for someone to explain what we’re looking at here. I’m not sure I fully understand the information provided; particularly the “volatility” column.

I love being grossly outnumbered. It makes every success my team achieves feel like a real victory. I understand that this can get old quick for servers where there is a chronic population deficit, but I don’t feel that this is a reason to create longer wait times for other people. Punishing players is never the right answer.

Things will settle down eventually, but it will likely take a couple of months for this to happen. It’s still early days, we’re only into the third matchup of week longs. Give people time to establish ties to their servers. I personally wouldn’t want success based on the efforts of people who don’t actually want to be on my server, but have no choice. It creates a lot of bad blood which I would hate to see on TC, which has for the most part a great WvW community. Let the server hoppers go where they will. Concentrate on your server’s core community, and generate whatever successes you can with them.

^ legit statistic. Can we please not blow things out of proportion? I think this has happened to me twice over the past three weeks.

Unless your guild was the cornerstone of the server, I don’t understand the reasoning behind making a super-dramatic front page news thread about it. Unless, you know, drama is what you were aiming for.

At the start we had quite a lead. but your advantage during our downtimes on the longrun accumulated eventually surpassing us. if you were truly the better server. you would have beaten us by way more points.

If it was just simple swapping due to night capping then the score would be much closer correct? It is more than just swapping, it shows that we were able to hold SoS off earlier in the week during their primetime.

If you refer to last the past few nights, I am sure it is because hardly anyone is queueing for WvW on TC due to the insurmountable lead we have.

Funny cause SoS faced quite a force during oceanic primetime compared to American Primetime where TarnCoast literally faced no opposition from SoS.
