People throwing around the word “entitlement” in the HoT pre-purchase discussion(s) really should learn what the word means. Entitlement in the ongoing community discussion would be, “I’m a veteran player, therefore I should get the expansion for free”. That’s not, as near as I’ve been able to tell, what one single person over hundreds of pages of threads has said. Instead the ENTIRE discussion has been, “if ArenaNet wants my money, then something needs to change”.

That “something” has been different for different people joining in the discussion, and is central to the debate. For some its that the price is too high no matter what. For others, they want ArenaNet to “sweeten the pot” a bit before they commit their hard-earned money to a purchase (which is how business negotiation and trade works). Others still feel the value being offered in the product punishes the very people who’ve provided ArenaNet with past revenue over those that have never provided them any revenue. Finally there are those who feel the product for its price is completely fair as-is. I assume most of the "entitlement’ meme repeaters fit into this last category. These are all examples of people making value statements.

To reiterate, the discussion this community has been having, then, is 100% based on the exchange of money for a product, making the entire discussion one of value by definition, not entitlement. So please, please stop using the “entitlement” meme if you’re one of the people who disagrees with the value statement being made by others in our community. It just makes you look ignorant.

Anet sent them the complete changelog for the upcoming update, and it includes this little tidbit that was never mentioned in all the lead-up:

• The attribute difference between exotic and ascended gear has been changed from 5% to 10%

This is a complete contradiction of Anet’s assertions that there would be no treadmill, no gear-based power creep. I’m sure I don’t need to remind anyone who was around for it of the massive uprising that was caused when Ascended tier equipment was first added into the game. Many people left the game over that mess. I myself stopped playing for many months due to the bad taste it left.This is the exact same thing all over again.

The fact that it is a buff to the existing top-tier gear instead of a new one is nothing but semantics, a sneaky way to force people to get Ascended who were doing just fine without it. The game has been and should’ve continued to be balanced around Exotic-tier power levels.

It seems Anet has, once again, betrayed the spirit of the vaunted Manifesto by forcing players to get on the treadmill and grind for ridiculously expensive Ascended gear if they want to remain competitive. This will also certainly lead to “ascended only” LFGs and other elitist nonsense.

Why have we heard nothing of this until now? Was the plan simply to hope no-one would notice it amongst all the other changes? What possible justification can be made for starting this gear-based power creep all over again?

RNG is the same for everyone when it resets you odds are the same as anyone eles this is a nice fair system way to go anet you did something right for once

lets see accended more dps more armour more stats extra slots for infusions that can also increase stats +5 a slot add them all together and they do make a huge dif one or 2 not so much

The real reason for dx9 was someone got a little greedy and figured the console would be better then they are and downgraded there already dx10/11 engine to dx9 to make a console release of Gw2. But it failed terrable because it would not run this engine just took to many resources to do what they wanted. its pretty sad this game would be something super special had someone not been too greedy

I guess anyone anyone not loyal enough to get in the beta is a clear sign that someone is sending a clear message that if your not in that list of loyal players your just not good enough. A symbol that anyone not in the beta should stop spending Monies in the BLT. If you didn’t meet this mystical requirment

I have never had your experiance ever never ever its always taking a week or more for the simplest of things. any other mmo i can talk to a real human and the fix my issue in a few min on a phone call

FoV = field of view.

With the new camera options we can have a larger FoV. Larger FoV = lower fps

and what if you never changed your FOV and still lost 1/2 your fps

Would an additional UI option to use all be nice sure, just don’t go to auto consume as that punishes people who use them in crafting.

you can already craft them up to rare 200units

or something easyer add a consume all option or a vendor or let artifice craft them up the 500 luck items so there is less clicking

yea i noticed daily’s would go there the next day i log it but not the other ones

I was saving all my box’s until i hit lvl 80 when i hit it all but like 3 of the box’s were missing i dont know if this is a but or something new that they changed. or if last night matinice messed something up. but this has always worked for me in the past. lost out on at least 50+ WvW reward boxes

in the long and short end the GW2 multi guild system is usless who ever though it up and decided to change it form the system that worked in GW1 should be fired

yea the mortar just isn’t very elite but you can use it for a long time maby change the mortar to a kit

yea it look at the live stream yesterday the moment any of those sigils or runes were posted they went up in value from1-10s to 1-3 golds. apts would make this worse

warrior should never be able to have 6 passive heals got 1 on signet, 1 on traits, 1 on armour runes, 1 food, 1 on sword, 1 on each of my banners in a way the banners would make 9 total but they dont realy stack stacks so i count it as 1

there alot of recipes not all 500 that you can use those in 450 gets you the ability to make bricks there used in some mystic forge recipes as well

woot 30 glory boosters from black lion chest never realy do much pvp only just reached deer mostly to start using them up but now they are worthless and the money i spent buying gems. is there a way to reclaim some or all of these for another booster or refund

I suppose , but logically I don’t think it makes sense to use blade shards to produce the Assault Knight Power Cores. Is there a current example of using something account bound to produce something that can be sold on the BLTP?

go create and email account and only use it for Guild wars 2 and nothing eles ever. throw away email accounts are a dime a dozen

you can always recover your account with your original account key and then change the password to something new and private. install norton AV and mabey http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and you be safe from those pesky keyloggers. if they hacker was smart and changed your email https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/28147596-Hacked-Compromised-Accounts once a gain your origianl account key will be the key to gettting your account back as is the hacker with all hope does not have that hardcopy you keep safe somewhere

your friend should have his account key code for the account if he doesnt he cant prove ownership of it. and anet/ncsoft wont help you

knight finished with 1 min or so to spare no achivment for that as well

the content they are talking about is over the whole year not the first 4 months they stated these for months were to be imporvments on current content and would be small. So i dont see any lie’s yet

after the frog boxx and after you get the bonus box i go into this long jumping puzzle with go down some rapids load in to this one area with 2 side a river and a log on one side. and there are some floating stuff in the distance. is this just the end for now or did i miss something
