If we’re going to bring back a bunch of instruments, then I request a lute and also a new profession of Bard. Ah, the good ol’ days of yore, playing a Bard.

I also say Necro. That’s my main character and one of the most fun for me to play because of her various effects and spells. Plus in solo PvE you can summon minions and have an easier time in combat.

My two cents’ worth is to not wait for and buy the newest chipset. Price will be very high. Get something one or two steps down and you’ll still get a good performance plus save money. Oh, and NewEgg is a great place to buy your parts.

I would be OK with a Corgi but I really want the Gryffon.

I don’t recall seeing horses anywhere in GW2 unless you count centaurs, and that would be weird. I hope for a dolyak, and something quaggan-like.

I don’t normally play an Asura but created one for the stress test. Holy motion sickness! I was fine before in the beta with a Human riding the raptor but the tiny size and fast motions of the Asura just about did me in. What a shame; they’re so cute.

I love the snowy maps too. Jungle ones are my least favorite but am glad there’s such a variety.

I have a Sylvari Ranger and recently gave her a total makeover because after 5 years I was bored with her green skin and dull brown-green hair. I thought a lot of the armor looked leafy and good in green, so it didn’t show up well on her. Now she has light purple skin and I think green, white, black, and/or peach shades look good on her, plus brown leather colors also work. I used “Titian” for a hair color on her new style and love it, much less “dead” looking.

Just FYI, there’s a separate section for Gem Store suggestions. Not meaning to sound critical, but your request probably has a better chance there. Excelsior!

I still haven’t pulled the trigger on buying any glider skins, although many are beautiful. I’m very picky — the glider needs to be small enough that it doesn’t obscure my toon in flight but still big enough to see clearly. I’ll probably get the Moth Wings one when it’s in the GS again.

I disagree that “everyone” picks the flashiest, glow-iest, biggest armor or weapons, although I know that was hyperbole. I have a few flashy, glow-y things but prefer more understated looks in general. For example, my thief — since she wants to be sneaky I dress her in the most form-fitting armor possible without a million doodads sticking out all over, then I dye it all black. No glow. No shoulder spikes jutting out a mile. No butt cape.

Perhaps someone else has a character who’s a big show-off and flashy, glow-y armor fits his personality. Please don’t let it bother you since you get to dress and arm your own toons however you want.

Count me in as well. I know taste is subjective, and I even like trench coats and dusters to a point. But now I would really like to see more form-fitting armor. Enough with all the butt capes and other stuff that sticks out a mile. My Thief would really like to sneak around without all that (in my mind) rustling fabric.

I don’t get the hype for Permafrost other than it’s super-expensive and hard to get. As Mea said, it’s a texture killer. When I did a preview with it, all I see is a blinding glare that washes out textures. IMO Celestial is much more beautiful.

I get it; you want what you want. But please don’t let one dye spoil your fun in the game.

I’ve been asking for more options since launch. It’s not that I decry skimpy armor for women characters so much as I want more choices for both male and female, from super-skimpy to have-fun-storming-the-castle every inch of skin covered. And aside from the skimpy vs. heavy debate, I would love more form-fitting options with no stupid flaring butt capes. Kind of hard to think of my Thief as sneaky when she can barely fit through a doorway with all the flounces.

It was tough to choose. I obsessively analyzed a video showing all the skins both wielded and stowed, and ended up choosing the greatsword, which looks amazing, and the short bow, which doesn’t look amazing but which I wanted anyway. The shield’s pretty great, too.

I hadn’t bought gems in ages and was surprised about the 72-hour condition, yet I understand it and agreed to it. If I miss a sale then it’s a cautionary tale that I might want to keep some gems on hand for future sales.

Oops, yes, I did mean Ultimate edition. And I know gems take ~72 hours to show. I was thinking about getting another character slot anyway so if we get the one in this package right away, then I can build my new toon for the expansion. Thanks very much.

Sorry if this is a stoopit question, but if you prepurchase the Deluxe version of PoF, which items do you receive now and which don’t arrive until release date? Obviously, the expansion itself and the permanent pass to “Lily of the Elon,” but what about the other things like an additional character slot, gems, etc.? Also, it lists Sunspear weapon skin — is that just a skin or do you get a new weapon too, and is it a random one from a set or will everyone get the same skin? Thank you.

there are way bigger and angrier spiders or a huge amount of them, but riding one is not okay? you can even tame one as a ranger but this is too spoopy? i am extremely disappointed in Anet. Obviously not appealing to arachnophobes (just think about arah), but riding a friendly one isn’t okay for some reason. This is silly. Think of all the steep cliffs with no POIs on top you could have climbed.
On the other hand, i have no idea how a gryffin mount would add to the movement options. Flying wouldn’t be okay according to a bunch of comments on the forum.

I didn’t say that spider mounts weren’t “okay” or that no one should have them if they want them. I just wouldn’t like one or like to see them in the game. Personal preference. My ranger tamed spiders for pets to be a completionist but never has one active because I find them creepy. As always, YMMV.

I hate it. It’s one of the reasons I’m not big on the HoT maps. Hopefully mounts will make the dearth of waypoints less of a pain.

Although they aren’t scheduled to be in the initial release, we don’t know if they’ll appear later or be skins for sale, as others said. I would LOVE that Gryffin mount but vote no on the giant spider. That would creep me out to see a bunch of them scuttling around in-game.

I’m always up for the beautiful, expensive dyes that I’ll never be able to afford, but am tired of the other "same ol’ same ol’ " and something new would be appreciated. However, as this is a free gift, I’m grateful and can’t really complain. Thanks, ANet.

Since the OP is talking about wine and not whine, then I have a suggestion. Whenever I can’t decide between red and white, nothing speaks to me like a good Beaujolais Nouveau. Surely one of the most wonderful sentences in the English language is “Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!” Wait, that’s French; never mind. Sadly, we have to wait for November.

I have no idea if players with motion sickness due to the mounts are a minority or a majority. I get m.s. from other games but not GW2, so believe me, I DO sympathize.

It helps me to not look at the mount itself while I’m traversing the environment. I zoom out as much as possible, and look ahead of the mount, at where I’m going.

I suffer from motion sickness with many games and it’s getting much worse as I get older, but GW has always been a game that doesn’t make me sick, one of the many reasons I love it and continue to play.

It may help to understand what motion sickness is or can be — your sense of sight and your sense of balance and movement (from your inner ear) giving you mixed signals. For example, if you’re running in a FPS, what you see tells you that you are moving forward rapidly and bobbing your head, but your inner ear tells you you’re sitting still. The conflict can lead to headaches and/or nausea. This is also why some people (like me) can’t read in a moving vehicle.

Anyway, the mounts are not making me sick in PoF. I keep the camera zoomed back as far as possible, third-person view only, not first-person, and I use the right mouse button to steer as smoothly as possible. Good luck to everybody.

Here’s a simple Seafoam (common) dye.

At first I wanted more dye channels too, but now that I think about it, too many and it will look like we’re all running around on rainbow unicorns. I think what I’d really love would be three or four “base” colors of each mount with one dye channel each. Yeah, I’m picky!

My C: drive (SSD) is getting full and there are many Windows components there which I don’t think I can move. Can I cut & paste the entire GW2 folder to my other hard drive or do I need to do a complete or partial reinstall? Win 10 OS. Thank you.

I’ve got the same problem. Logged in today after not playing for a week or two, downloaded the update, played for a while, logged out. Now I cannot log in again. I get a black screen with the theme music playing, and that’s it. Cannot shut down the game with Task Manager and have to either reboot or sign out of my Windows profile.

I’d really rather not reinstall, since it worked fine less than an hour ago. Help???

Thanks for reminding me of this! I got distracted with all the gliding, which I LOVE.

I don’t know about “relaxing,” per se, but the professions I like to play solo the most are Ranger and Necro — the former for the pet and the latter for the minions. It makes soloing easier for me. Have fun!

You’re supposed to get map completion rewards for Silverwastes, Dry Top and Southsun too, but that’s bugged too. >.<

I completed Silverwastes yesterday with one of my chars and got a map completion reward.

My Norn Revenant was standing at the top of a high cliff in the Shiverpeak Mountains. He knew he couldn’t glide there but then said, “Kitten this!” and jumped. Sorta like in Toy Story where Buzz Lightyear really thinks he can fly.

Anyway, I too would love it if ANet would open up more of the world to gliding. Would be a nice bonus to those of us who bought HoT.

I’m confused by the map layers in Verdant Brink. Is it just me or do they (the clickable squares for layers in the lower right corner) not work the same way they do in, say, The Grove? I mean, I know VB has the canopy and all that, and I love gliding, but it seems like in many places I should be near certain points, according to the map, but I’m not. Tips for this vertically-challenged player? Thanks.
