Nah, that is about as far from the truth as you can get. His perspective isn’t so much interesting, as it is accurate as he was in the SoR force blockading you.

I was there as well and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that we were not working ‘with’ JQ at all. In fact, we had been farming them over and over and over at the southeast camp before that incident and had been leaving you alone for the most part unless you demanded our attention by attacking something.

The reason we blockaded you was to simply give you a hard time because of Rise, not to help JQ. That, and to create a little forum drama…. which worked quite well.

Too funny. Just because you didn’t plan to do it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Btw: from what I’ve seen of Rise so far, I find it hard to believe that you gave them a hard time! I had the chance to run with them led by Prince Jarvan this week; he’s a great commander & they’re a tight group!

We were lined up waiting for Rise. Called em out on the forums.
Those poor JQ guys had just gotten ate at bluewater for an hour before we came over.
Our GM just left em there for a laugh. Dunno why guy that made the vid bothered, there was only like 6bg left in sorbl by that time… They weren’t gonna keep briar.

Right after JQ took the tower and both SOR & JQ dispersed, BG took briar back. But then JQ came back to spawn camp us while SOR took their turn at capping briar. I cut that part out of the video because it looked the same aside from SOR & JQ switching positions.

Again, I’m sure it was all in fun, and anything that breaks the monotony is fine by me at this point. I only reposted it to point-out the irony by those in this thread that are accusing BG of 2v1 or spawncamping this week. Sure, things like that can get old real quick, but no need to cry foul every time it happens IMO.

On a side note…these last few weeks have been super close for a top tier match, and a good deal of fun!

Some very good (see competitive, fun) fights out there during NA west coast hours. Lot of action with BG in SoR BL last night.

For anyone counting JQ out, not sure if you are just wishful thinking or delusional. No doubt guilds who just transferred there to ‘win’ will go by the wayside but the people I know that rolled JQ at launch are die hard RvR that are in it for the long haul. Really no loss if the guilds-on-wheels transfer out as they probably weren’t doing much anyway but riding coat tails. JQ has always been one of the more steady servers so nobody should anticipate (or bet on) a drop from T1 any time soon.

Call it the curse of being on top; nowhere to go but down. BG might need to find that anecdote quickly if they plan to remain there. Not every server can maintain that chemistry needed to remain at or near the top for an extended period.

With all that said, I’ve been wrong before ….

Yeah, those were some fun fights last night. And you’re right that it doesn’t take much for things to get a bit unsteady, e.g., the loss of one really good commander has the potential to turn the tides. But we too have been lucky enough to attract great commanders & guild leaders along the way, and I suspect we’ll be playing in the top tiers for a good while longer.

This siege trolling crap seriously need to get addressed by ArenaNet right away. Ignoring crap like this is a fine way to drive away everyone from your game, right before a major patch which is supposed to get everyone back into it too!

My theory is that since BG has been victimized by this in T2 and now we are in T1 the only common factor here is Sanctum of Rall. We all know that server has some serious trolls on it and we already know they have map spies watching commander tags so it is not that far of a stretch to say they would do something like this as well.

To Blackgate, In the past it was your server with the bad name due to hacking of the Orbs of Power and many of us despised your server as a whole for it due to how many folks handled it or didn’t care about it. But I have since over the last 2 weeks come more to respect a lot of the people on BG with the exception of a few guilds and know that as a whole would never do something like this as BG has worked really hard to regain a reputation as a good strong server.

Yes because 1 person completely determines how the other thousands act. A lot of you say SoR are serious trolls yet have any of you ever transfered to the server to see what it’s really like? From personal experience, it’s a lot better than Blackgate.

On a side note recruiting guilds off a dying server isn’t exactly impressive nor working hard.

I also heard Icoa got disbanded. Was a shame. Despite their whole exploiting into bay, they had a bunch of good people in that guild. Oh well, looks like Blackgate can’t use them as their scapegoat anymore.

In the interim, until these siege spamming idiots go away or Anet addresses it, you can quickly lay-down siege where you want it even if it won’t get built for a while. That’s how we deal with it when it happens to us. The siege breaking truce sounds like a great idea to me too.

The EBJP would be a good spot for GVG. There’s plenty of areas where spectators could have an elevated vantage point to watch from. And commander tags would not interfere with wvw action.

When your server leads in PPT it is obviously skill. When your enemy leads in PPT, it is quantity over quality.

Gaining 15k points overnight while SoR has 0 players online is not skill.

Edit: When is the last time you checked the NA ppt, btw? You don’t have 0 players online now… so, what’s the excuse now? BG is +380-405.

Yeah, SOR has way better coverage than we do during NA primetime. Going against 2 stacked servers in that time-slot is tough, but we do our best.

Legend is that the rivalry between BG & SOR actually started over TC.

Although I’m not fond of the gameplay it results in, its quite obvious that this Pvdoor mega-zerg strat is super effective. All of our guilds will have to group-up as a counter to it for some mega-guild vs mega-guild (MGvMG) action. The fights will be simple enough since no one will be able to use any of their skills.

Most impressive improvement: Kaineng. They went from a server nobody-cared-about to the top tier. You can almost make a film that depicts this tremendous journey.

Major disappointment: Blackgate (or SoSgate) has the potential of dethroning Jade Quarry but seems unable to keep the momentum going.

Got to love uneducated opinions.

First off, T1 has been a 2v1 against Blackgate since we got there, seeing as SoR still have pent up aggression toward us for maplocking them repeatedly in T2 during the BGvsSoRvsIoJ match. Then they got lucky with the rating change and shot to T1 despite having no legitimate reason to be there. The past 2 weeks have been Blackgate vs Sanctum of Jade (or Quarry of Rall, your choice), and it’s not even remotely fun.

Secondly, Kaineng is the product of numerous T1 and T2 guilds server transferring before the paid transfers were implemented in order to stack a server and stomp the lower tiers for their own circle-jerking amusement. It is less of a “tremendous journey” and more of “giving a third-world country advanced weaponry and tactics, but only letting the foreigners that brought the weapons use them.”

The grand irony is that T1 will actually be good again once Kaineng kicks SoR out.

There needs to be balance in each tier to get the most out of wvw, and JQ has set the bar for what tier 1 coverage needs to be. BG has accepted that challenge, and now it appears we are able to (for the time being) maintain tier 1 coverage. The current scores seem pretty close, and the fights have certainly been epic, so all three servers should be enjoying tier 1 this week.

For those who only care about the fights, no worries. Worst-case scenario you will drop a tier, and find great fights in the next one. Of course, the hard-core gvg guilds will still have to server-hop to find the fights they want, but that’s nothing new.

I enjoy wvw for what it is regardless of the tier. The only exception is when the tier balance is too far out of whack…in which case you have to suck it up until things get better or make some server changes. That’s the game we bought, and for all its flaws it’s still the best MMORPG pvp action that I know of right now.

So…no need for finger pointing, etc. We are all just trying to improve our gaming experience based on our personal preferences.

Bottom-line: it’s all good! Now can we all just eat some cookies and get along?

I think most of SoR likes BG, like it has been said before, it’s just one guild most dislike and that’s because of the 3 weeks of exploiting that came from said guild.

I think most of the servers don’t spend most of their time QQing about losing…making excuses & blaming everyone else…its just that one group from that one server…

On another note: I can’t wait until Kain makes it to Tier 1…great server to go up against. Hopefully they don’t pick-up any bandwagon whiners on the way here though.

Good point. Compared to the server who holds the spot that we’re aiming for we’re not stacked. Thankfully though, our coverage will see a much needed improvement. We’ve learned a lot of new tactics & improved on them where we could since our last visit to tier 1 as well. Going-up against (and learning from) guilds like RG was a great experience while we were there, but these last few weeks training hard with TC & KAIN is what has really prepared us for another shot.

Btw: It seems like Kain may be in a good spot to earn a lot of points against SoS…similiar to what happened when SoR ran over an empty SBI. I’m curious to see if it will help their matchup numbers in the same way. If so, we know where the Pain Train will be headed during the next round of transfers…just kidding (on the square) of course;)

Pause the Dolyak parade this week, and party in SM. 30 minutes after start, an all out brawl in/on/under/outside of SM.

I like it! How about Golem vs Golem fights on the roof of SM? Or Golem vs Yaks? lol

This matchup has been the best so far. TC will definitely be missed if they take their yak parade on a tier 3 tour. You’re sure to be back in tier 2 soon, but by then BG will be tearing it up in tier 1. And I expect KAIN will be in tier 1 with us after a week of reigning supreme in tier 2. It seems we won’t all be together again until we carve out a spot for TC in tier 1. Then it will be time to slay the fatted yaks in celebration!

In the meantime, it sounds like we need a farewell party…any ideas?
