Once upon a reset, there was a norn. It was a big and strong norn, a warrior. As he usually did he traveled to the borderlands in search for a chance to let his metal meet the metal of his enemies and maybe, just maybe, earn his place in Valhalla, next to his fathers before him.
But what was that? Something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong. Giant golems everywhere! Not just your regular golems with their slow speed and less-than-lethal damage, but supercharged team lazer explosion golems from hell that ran like the wind and turned regular people into cascades of red and pink flesh fountains that draped the landscape in their lifeblood.
The brave norn warrior now realized that, strong as he was, he couldn’t match these iron giants so he went to the bank and took a hefty loan. He went to the asuran delegation and ordered a whole heap of shiny new golems for himself. And so the brave norn warrior fought in the biggest golem war the world had ever seen.
After about twenty minutes, broke, in debt and tired of the golems, the warrior started hoping for an end to the madness. He was tired of it all and was wanting to see things go back to normal. But it didn’t end. It kept going on.
People stopped going to the borderlands because it wasn’t enjoyable anymore. Commanders stopped commanding, thieves stopped thieving, warriors stopped warring, guardians stopped guarding. The only ones who didn’t stop were the mesmers, but it’s generally known that mesmers just don’t know when to stop.

We are now several days in to an even that was , most likely, supposed to be fun, but isn’t anymore. It hasn’t been fun for days now. And that’s not just my opinion, it’s what every single person I’ve talked to is saying. Tier1 wvw is an empty wasteland without commanders, players, fights, ppt, upgrades or people giving a kitten .

So please, Anet, show some mercy! Give us back our WvWvW where commanders, in broken english, call for whales being dropped on the enemy (because it’s painful!). Give us back our fun. Please.

BG didn’t quit after being down 18k points last week. We rallied our players and committed overtime to make up the deficit. SoR just disappeared. Where the kitten are all your warriors? Ticking under a T2 server this early on in the week is disgraceful. Props to SOS for bringing more fights than SoR.

[IRON] is probably pretty excited to have another big EU guild to fight, I would imagine.

we would be excited. the problem is that zd’s stop playing only one hour into our primetime so we haven’t been able to fight them much at all. as always we’re stuck with around 30 iron + randoms vs the coin+rk+randoms map zerg. wish they could run those two guilds separate from time to time. Don’t get me wrong, I love the challenge it poses to fight a much bigger force, but having to wait 20 seconds just to switch weapons makes it kinda bad.

We weren’t coordinating with Coin or moving together but sometimes we did end up in the same spot which gave us the numbers advantage but still some excellent fighting. We were running with 20ish RK last night and some randoms and it looked to me like Coin had around the same. We prefer to be outnumbered so very rarely join other forces unless a major defence is required.

There were quite a few times when we were fighting the SOR randoms zerg and while we were getting into it your guild came along and smashed us from behind. Sometimes planned I assume when your help was requested, sometimes just a coincidence but always fun.

like I said before in here today, we had 26 people on when prime time started last night and 12 halfway through. we ended up having to just go to eb and stick to the active commander there since we couldn’t even muster a zerg of our own :/

2. We were 15 at best 20 on EU during our prime with 30-40 in queue including 1-2 RL
3. Core WvW players went to slack due to unreal timers on queues
4. No server but BG approached us prior League and invited us in a respectful manner to join their ranks
5. We did not plan to move before the league starts but the Arena’s Net reality adjusted our plans
6. Core ZDs guild which consists of 300 players is on SFR, only WvW department transferred to BG
7. We came to NA BG for a minmum of 8 weeks
8. We play for fun & for server win
9. We never dodge fights
10. Dear IRON, we don’t have to whisper you for fights nor we will since you are the one map jumping from us whole evening, if you want to fight come and fight in game not on the forums.
11. We are thrilled and looking forward to have fun with BULL which is one of greatest enemies we had before
12. IF you have any bloody questions feel free to ask ingame since we are bit busy fighting rather then pouring gasoline on others kitten s at forums

We always run untagged and try to avoid getting randoms to stick on us. Iron fields around 30 people during prime. Around 40 on a good day. We never back down from a fight and will clash no matter the odds. I assure you, we have never tried to get away from you, nor will we ever do that. We play to fight, but for the good of the server we also have to respond to calls for help on different borderlands when help is asked for.
Also, yesterday we had a very low turnout. There was 26 iron on the commander during primetime and that number was down to 12 iron mid/end prime time. I dunno what was up yesterday, but I was not a happy camper

WM did OT and BG was ticking at 400+ PPT during EU pretty much every day. That’s why IRON transferred when they did. It was pretty justified, too. KISS came out of no where, so there’s not much to say about that, but they aren’t a prescense anymore.

I wouldn’t consider transferring to a time zone with no native pop. justified. Also pretty peculiar for people who claim to play for the fights. Point is, IRON didn’t end up fighting Euros when they transferred (or anyone, for that matter. The new BG strat after IRON transferred was to exploit “Hawaiin time”). The match histories don’t lie. Luckily, HB got rezzed soon after.

IRON didn’t transfer to sor to fight EU. They transferred to SoR because we needed the help the most, especially during that timeslot, because WM was causing BG to tick extremely high during EU. They’ve said it themselves when they transfferred here on the forums. SoR needed help the most, that’s why they joined us. It was both a logical and justified decision. IRON was dying in EU(actually the official EU IRON is dead, the ones that transferred was a fraction of the original IRON IIRC), and they wanted to move to NA. SoR offerred the best option for them.

Actually you’re wrong. The reason that we left desolation was because of two big reasons:
we became fed up with the server and it’s people. It was a very toxic enviroment filled to the brim with drama, insults, backstabbing and generally bad conduct. we pretty much carried the server and got nothing but crap thrown back in our faces. We had a community ts set up for everyone to use. they managed to ruin that too and cause drama over. we had an EB branch of iron that saw one of it’s highest officers steal everything we put in to the guild bank and go off create their own guild while spitting insults of the worst kind to wrex. they still send her whispers etc wishing her all the worst and death by different illnesses, like 12yo kids. we got worn out pulling mad hours week after week because the majority of desolations playerbase is 100% pve’ers who almost never went in to wvw. the list goes on. but all in all, we wanted away from there because of the drama, toxic enviroment and the lack of wvw participation.

reason two was Visuna. Iron wants fights. fighting is what we like to do. ppt is and always will be secondary to us. eu tier1 had gone incredibly stale. Visuna had an entire map blob but refused to come out of their keeps… EVER. they siege capped every tower and keep and had their entire force sit on arrowcarts 24/7. It was so boring we started crying blood. we wanted fights, so we left for NA.

The reasoning for picking SOR over any other NA T1 server was very simple and logical. Who had the shortest queues? Who faced the most enemies? Who had the biggest wvw guilds?

bg had the biggest wvw guilds

so we went to the server where we would have no queues and be able to fight the biggest forces. as simple as that. we transferred to fight, not for ppt. our move was, as should be for any guild, for the good of the guild and it’s members.

Serious question, in an atmosphere that is described as toxic who are the ones who experience this? The guild leaders or the general populace. As a member of SoR’s general populace I have no idea what the mover and shakers guilds are doing nor if everyone gets along. I mean, TS is always cordial and friendly and seems to work well, there also there seems to be no real conflicts, so I guess am asking when a server becomes toxic does the general populace feel it or is it still confined to the to leaders?

Desolation’s wvw map chat was just a never ending scrolling of insults, flaming, name calling, whining and other spam. The general tone on TS was bad. The server meetings on TS was 99% drama and refusal to cooperate with one of the loudest voices refusing to hear anything wrex said because she’s a woman. LA map chat was full of hate and when asking for people to come help in wvw you were told to go have interactions of a sexual nature with yourself. It was just bad… very bad.

no actually Coin got wiped over and over so they cried to moma and in came VII, HB and RK to wreck the BL, causing 2fps framerates and 2 min skill lag in open field. But if you want that kind of play then fine, we’ll tag up and do the same. map blob vs map blob, rubberband around and spam “1”. Bet coin STILL would be the first to drop to the ground though

Tell that to the full map of SoR floaters thats been on this week. You´ve gained alot of players over the last period. Aint complaining, just wish they´d split up instead of full map zerg karma training.

Atleast we figured out how to stop it now. We let you have all, then there´s nothing for you to karma train. I hope you enjoy the stacking

considering that we went out looking for fights, not karma training, with out 30ish people we had online, everything in your post is null and void. We asked people to come and have some fun fights, but after roflstomping all over Biebertrix and COIN, he cried for help and in came both RK and HB to run with him and megablob everything.
Not fun to play with 2 fps due to your huge numbers. But we did however get some fighting and got quite a lot of bags too so it wasn’t all bad. But if you continue this we will, however, be forced to respond in kind, tag up and pull a map blob to counter your map blob come next week. If, that is, what you want. Accept reality, we all run with about equal numbers in wvw, anything else is just propaganda from one side or another. You rolling in with a map blob to “counter” us is really just praise and we thank you for it.

About the coin numbers : 26 on the commander. We had 42 minus 4 scouts and people afk. You got HB on the same map, sounds pretty fair imo.

We didnt split, we just lost some numbers over time.

Sure we had to retreat a few times when you basically had one player covering every pixel on our screens, but you never really wiped us. Most of the time we managed to decimate your numbers enough for you to back off.

This has become embarrassing for you, give it up. If you cannot understand that last night you was not fighting us aka [Coin] as a guild, then you need to go back to school. Oh come on, at the start of the evening on Sunday you were well over 40 people and quite obviously trolling us. It was not until later in the evening when I believe you split your forces and a group went to another border that you were 35-40, then the fights actually became enjoyable. Monday is an off day for the guild, hence the community commanding. As for Sunday, you sure haven’t changed much as a guild since you left Desolation. You can blob effectively sure, I mean who couldn’t stack melee and necros in a 50-60 person group and defeat an enemy group half those numbers? However, the squad sized group you rolled with later on in the evening showed there’s still a lot of improvement for you guys to make.

As for spies, we haven’t had any spies. I can’t speak for the rest of the server since I know that all servers have spies on the enemy servers, but WE didn’t have any spies. We did have scouts following you around though.

Okay folks, you heard it from this prodigy of class first … GvGs are fair game as they take place in a pvp zone. So all you butt SoR forum trolls that enjoy whining have lost yet another tear jerking point, to one of your own at that oh the IRONy

GvG’s are pvp-dependet competitions between guilds. While nobody claims they aren’t “free game”, you will most likely end up being wiped by both of the gvg teams. We’ve had people trying to mess up our gvg’s before. It didn’t end well for them. But we’ve accepted it happening though because it’s a pvp zone after all and people will play the game the way they want to.
The kittened role playing dolyak crap though has no place in a pvp zone. they can just as well go do that kitten in LA or something.
The fact here is that THEY came on here whining about 6 people wiping their entire dolyak “parade” like a boss. THEY started the crying. All I’ve done is simply stating how incredibly stupid their whining really is.

They lose oh we are in it for the fights and we are taking a break that no other srver is doing. Cause no other server minus SoR got the sky pirate event.

Lets all face it BG won it fair and square when SoR won they won fair and square even if it was IRON that gave them the moral boost. When JQ won they won because they had the best people on the field it is the same for all servers.

We’ve never double teamed. if it seems like it, it’s because 2 servers have been attacking the weakest target, but not agreeing to teaming up or avoiding to fight each other. now, however, bg and jq zergs stand on each side of a tower/keep. one server keeping reinforcements off and the other one attacking said tower/keep. Then when the two zone blobs run in to eachother, they don’t attack eachother but actually stop and back paddle away from eachother. It’s pretty kitten obvious. We can see it, you know we can see it and you still deny it. it’s rich. but then you need to do it obviously since we destroy you so easily in fair fights. Thought fair fights seem hard to get anymore since the only time you ever come out to fight us is when you have at LEAST twice our numbers. We usually wipe you anyways.
Just a few minutes ago we wiped in hero’s on bg bl. we were 8 people and you had at least 40. we said “f it” and charged anyways. we almost wiped you, but the constant rallying did us in. it’s actually quite funny how little it takes before most of you are turned into dorritos

I think the biggest unified force we had when we were fighting at any point today on SoRBL was about 40 players. Most of the time we were running in the 20s, maybe hitting 30. I even had to go to Lion’s Arch and broadcast for people to come into SoRBL to help us since our numbers were so low….

we had 21 people online on the iron teamspeak pretty much during that whole siege. dunno about the pugs though.

Our TS is named Iron ts because it’s our ts. we paid for it, for our guild. we then later opened it for everyone on desolation. we didn’t say anything about someone starting a deso speak ts. they, on the other hand, started moaning about us wanting to stay on our ts. and about the “ridiculous” speculations… is it ridiculous when the drama was started by the very same people who made deso speak to get away from iron’s ts? iron didn’t start the drama. desospeak did.

and now for the “desolation doesn’t = iron” comment.
we never claimed that we were desolation. we always said that we were part of the desolation wvw community with emphasis on “part of”. all this hostility about how “iron think they’re all that” and “iron think they ARE desolation” blah blah, is all part of the hate throwing that a lot on desolation loves to do. we always tried to be helpful and modest in what we said or did. comments in map, like “no worries, iron is here” or “iron to the rescue” and comments like that have always been frowned upon by guilds leaders and officers and every time that has happened, the person writing the comment have been told to stop on ts or in guild chat. but it is pretty hard to keep everyone on tight reins when you have 200+ members, like we did on deso.

I’m sorry, on behalf of myself and iron, if anyone on deso was insulted by us or made feel small in any way. we never intended that and always said and did what we thought was the best we could say or do.

Unfortunately we-will-desolate.net forum contents are gone, but I am pretty sure a lot of people were telling how much they appreciated the efforts of Iron Triangle. I co-operated with some very nice Iron members, including Offski, Yanox and Omphin, just to mention a few. But I am just a small pawn in the chess board and back then early this year I had just gotten my tag, so I can only speak for myself and not for the entire community.

I can tell you that any commander will have moments when he/she will doubt whether people care or not. Do you think our players don’t feel frustration when they see enemy quickly cap an upgraded tower or keep, which was full of siege and could have been defended if people had reacted faster? So many wasted gold pieces and blueprints, gone in a flash.

As you know we also have our own server wide TeamSpeak (ts.desospeak.com), but you insisted to use your own TS, thus creating a dilemma for the PuGs (which TS to listen?). I have absolutely no quarrels with that. Anybody can use any TS server they want or not use any TS. I can successfully command the PuGs just using the map chat, despite it is harder.

I am sorry if you had sacrificed your real life for a game. This is just a game and I think your families should matter more. Enjoy the summer, spend time outdoors. You are now on a winning server. We are still stuck at tier #2, despite is plain dead obvious we don’t belong there.

we-will-desolate.net was created by iron, I believe. it was used very little if at all. And after all the crap we constantly had to endure from our own server “friends”, why should we care about what happens to that site? fed up person shut it down. as simple as that.

the deso speak was created long after we created our ts. and we had paid for several hundred slots for many many months to go. we chose to use our own TS because of this simple reason. we paid for it, all of us in iron did, so we wanted to make use of our investment. Why someone else thought it was a good idea NOT to use our TS for free and go buy another one is beyond me. but I guess it was some iron hater who felt a strange urge of some sort.

as for real life, yes, that’s one of the main reasons we left desolation. we now have time to play and have fun as well as spend time with our loved ones and not lose everything on every border in the process. here on SoR we’re just one of the strong forces helping eachother whilst on deso there was only a handful of dedicated wvw guilds and the rest fair weather players who only played if we were doing good that week. most of deso is full of pve players and the server full status because of them also blocked an influx of wvw guilds. no matter how hard we tried, we simply couldn’t get new guilds to join deso, escept for a few rare exceptions (kaz, votf).

but the bottom line, I think, is that the desolation community is absolutely bull kitten. it’s all about drama, backstabbing, name calling, griefing and kitten envy. we do not want part of that. for example, our EB-branch “eternal iron” was subject to a very sly attempt of mutiny. Luckily we could salvage all the gold and materials etc that we had invested in that sub-guild before the bank was looted. But that didn’t stop the drama queens from crying bloody kitten robbery all over every forum known to man. just because we took back our money before they could steal it lol.
