Yes, I agreed. And this patch finally makes me realized it doesn’t worth my time wasting my life on farming those “points”.

They are not achievement, just same as those new collections. They are not achievements, but just a trap to makes you farm more gold and in the end —- waste your time in this game.

I was a dedicated AP Hunter for a long time. I got all Temporary achievements done, and I mean EVERY single one including the famous 8 orb and I do pvp and wvw and even brought Gw1 just for achievement points.

Last year’s wintersday was brutal but this year was a nail in the coffin. I finally gaved up.

Finally I am free from this hell and I hope you realized how stupid it was and give it up too.

Don’t take it wrong but seriously ANY game is not worth spending your life on.

Arcane Shield, Armor of Earth ( I swap LF for AoE for stacking ). Also try to Deep Freeze bosses with Frost Bow #5 once they get to you. It gives you basically 5 “free seconds”. Enough time to cast #4, drop the Bow, then Meteor Shower.

Was kinda upset when realizing the name “Parkway Drive” was used near launch.

Don`t forget that this game is also Hardware snob … I bet most top players have top spec PC`s. Things could be pretty different if everyone was on the same level. Then again, not anyone wants to make a career in GW2 PvP, lol.

Let me clarify something.

Some people here seems to be playing the game only for a very short time.

The only buffs (beside elementals) Ele has received lately, was the Blast on Frozen Burst, and the evade on Burning Speed.

So, if I read certain posts from certain people, these 2 buffs made the Ele COMPLETELY OP AND OVER THE TOP

Really people, look the Elementalist history, how long we`ve sit in the dark, NOTHING has changed beside those 2 buffs ( and Elementals ).

Please, before posting bullcrap, get your stories straight.

If you need advice on how to counter a DD Ele, send me a whisper as Ive been maining one sicne launch.

I went with my Zerk D/D Elementalist alone, without any from of Stability and did it on the first try. ( Of course I had the Master of Lightning reviving me ). It’s not that hard, sure when he charges you have to make sure it avoid it as much as possible, but all the other attacks are pretty easy to avoid as they are very well indicated. Even with the AoE scream, just get out of the circle and use range.

Zoose has a really good one, it’s not very old also. I’m on my tablet right now, so can’t really give you a link. It should be a few pages back. Try googalizing it also, pretty sure you’ll find it.

I mean, if you don’t channel the skill for the entire duration, you’ll only get a few meteors, which is really not worth it. You cast Meteor Storm for a reason, and that’s to get the full effect, but the tradeoff is that you’re literally a free kill ( Unless you use Arcana Shiel, but w/e ). High Risk, high reward skill. That’s what we want, right??

Play as aggressive as the Ele. Burst him, and apply CHILL and POISON ( if possible ) when he comes out of water attunement. When he attunes to Fire, BLIND him. When he attunes to Earth, Rip Boons. Profit!!

Ive been maining a D/D Ele for about 3K hours, and really happy to 1vs1 them on my Shatter Mesmer.

Like Ive said, you need to play as aggressive as him, if not more. Time your burst after he comes out of Water Attunement. When they’re under pressure, once again CHILL and CRIPPLE are your best friends, or he’ll want to run away.

Actually, you’re a bit off.

Yes, part of the damage comes from Lightning Strike, but Blinding Flash does NOT do damage at all, it’s used for a quick Blind ( as it is instant. )

The other part of the damage comes from Air Attunement’s 15pts ( or 3 ) minor skill Electric Discharge. Everytime you swap to Air Attunement, you proc a Lightning Strike on your target.

Not that it wouldn’t be funny having to do a move when going into Air Attunement, but I really don’t see what you can do

I don’t know OP, Blinding Ashes+Retal from Elemental Contigency might makes something interesting. Fire became a bit more defensive

Sirloin, I can understand why you’re complaining. When they announced the new traits, a lot of Eles actually said, myself included, that the trait would be either OP, or pretty useless. The trait simply is too passive. Yes, I know as a Condimancer, the trait can give you a pretty rough time, especially D/D Eles with Healing Power as it scales well with the Elementalist.

A lot of us gave our opinion about this trait, ANet should know by now that the Trait need a bit of tweaking, so full condition specs can have a bit more of a counter play against DS Eles. It is honestly not our fault, as a lot of us ( I think? ) just didn’t want this trait ( I honestly know a lot of people, myself included ). And honestly, as a game that’s supposed to be balance around 5v5, DS really is a 1v1 trait. No way you can keep your health higher than 90% for awhile while facing a few opponents. We’re really not to blame.

And the game is also promoted like this: Play the way you wan’t ! So telling people not to spec full condi is not an excuse.

MH D/ Fire #3, when your toon turns around, use Lightning Flash on top of a mob/enemy without touching any directional keys. Lightning Flash can also be used with Earthquake, Churning Earth and even Fire Grab.

Hello. in your dd build i would say the 6 point on water would be better, and cleansing wave for lightning flash would be better, as an escape or as a gap closer it is a good utility.

Full Celestial D/D Ele says hello!

About 5-6 months ago on Skyhammer I’ve managed to simultaneously down 2 Hambow Warriors on my Glass Fresh Air Ele and they were calling each other noobs afterward. I then called both of em noobs, haha. Nonetheless, it did feel pretty good

About deleted ascended trinket, sent on thursday. They did tell me they needed more time 3 days ago. Not sure if it’s because they needed a few days to discuss it or because they’ve answered late on friday night and they were off on the weekend ( hence why they needed more time, would have preferred being told they were off, if that was the case haha). While they might make an exception in your case, in general the rule is if “you” deleted it then it’s gone. They can’t tell the difference from you deleting something for whatever reason and another person doing so. Support has only so much time, personnel and resources. Yea, that’s what I was also thinking, but I mean, the kid is only 3 and a half, there is no “evil” in him… yet I would honestly be really mad if they could not replace the item, even if it’s in their policies. I mean, you can freely delete an ascended trinket, but you have to type “Box o’ Fun” in order to delete one.. I mean, who cares about the kitten Box anyways?

Sooo yea. I was playing GW2 until I had to go get something for my girlfriend. My son went on my toon, grabbed my Ascended Trinket (Majister’s Field Journal), dragged it out and clicked “Yes”. I know HOW CRAZY IT MAY SOUND, but it has happened. At first I was all depressed cause I had to start over. But after thinking twice, I wrote a ticket and I guess it shouldnt be too hard to see in the log that my toon dropped the ascended?? It has also happened few hours ago … I want to know what the peeps think here before I rejoice myseld =D

When you use the roast beef skill, and follow it up with Au Jus utility you get the FRENCH DIP combo.

It’s way overpowered btw and total BS and Anet needs to balance it.

Play what you want, Im playing that build, 20/0/0/20/30 staff Ele atm and its great. Anyways, looks like Zerk are gonna get nerfed in the future ( according to a dev post ). It’s good to be able to do stuff quickly, but playing the way you want is what counts. If other people are not happy, they can go to hell and you can move on ( That’s why guildies are amazing! )

I’m not going to tell anyone what to do. But I’ll just relate the experience I just had as I too just had 3 ele’s on a team, first time I can ever recall that happening.

Not only did we lose.. we got demolished. And here’s a hint as to how bad it was. We were on Skyhammer, and for some reason nobody on either team went for the hammer, so I did. I must have gotten at least 10 shots off before anyone from the other team challenged me.. and in that time, the rest of my team didn’t capture a single point.

It’s pretty obvious what’s going on here, and I don’t blame the ele’s. They had low ranks and were clearly not regular PvPers, they came in because Arenanet is trying to entice people into PvP. But they didn’t know that ele’s are underpowered in PvP now, and they didn’t know what to do on the map.

The bottom line is the same as always: the basic mechanisms (matchmaking, tutorials, education, limits on who can join the queues) need fixing before drawing new people in (many of whom will just feel discouraged and leave.)

The bottom line is that if they were playing rangers, thieves, warriors, mesmers or guardians you would’ve stood a FAR higher chance of winning. You may actually have won.
All those classes have at least one braindead-easy build that even a newbie can operate somewhat effectively, especially thief/ranger who don’t need more than 2-3 buttons.

Ele’s are absolutely godawful for Skyhammer because they have 1 source of stability (90 sec cooldown) and 1 knockback (40 sec cooldown)….that’s it. The capture points are small, the map is small, it’s so easy to blow them up or knock them off. Even more kill fodder than usual.

Ever heard of Rock Solid?? Go play the game instead of posting, especially since you seem to know nothing about Ele’s.

Yes, it can be used to blind a channeling skill. It can also work pretty well to stomp someone in PvP.

Every class is somehow getting nerfed in PvP. So that is indrectly a buff to Elementalists. People need to learn to just not read the Ele’s patch note and go " HURR DURR THEY NO LISTEN NO BUFF WHHYYY ANERF WHYYYYYYY ELE BLACK SHEEEEEEPPP OF THE YEARRRR OMMAAAAAGGGGAAAAHHDDD DUUURRRR"
