I agree. honestly the money spent on my guardian I don’t really care about lol was 3 years ago. I don’t like being kind of pigeon holed into using traveler runes to keep up with everyone.

ele I thought would be a lot of fun for me but just didn’t hit the right spot. watching mesmers in a spvp match before I left for work they look quite entertaining. and ive never looked at ranger before, so I’m not even sure if itd be my cup of tea at all.

ive been trying to just focus on the guardian the game play that I have been doing which is just a little bit of everything I just get bored on him haha. which is why I guess ive been looking for something else. thought Mesmer might be a good change. but then ive been suggested druid aswel

still makes me unsure

why would druid be the best class for me then? I know nothing about the class so just asking,

so Mesmer would be the better of my 3 classes to actually try to main? I want to just have one I play for pretty much all game modes.

as for myself I’m contemplating returning to gw2 I have a 80 guardian and elementalist and a 42 Mesmer. I never got into much of the pvp or anything mostly just did map completion and a little bit of the zerging in wvw,

I’m trying to find a class I can play mostly solo to small scale stuff zerg I just found boring to be a part of. I want to be hard to kill but be able to actually kill people aswel.

ive also been on the fense to play gw2 again and or elder scrolls online.

I’m unaware what those hot items are you spoke of. I played 2 years ago and only leveled to 80 and stopped started playing again and trying to get into things

I know for wvw my guild wants me to use a different set I forgot the name I think it was crusaders. with staff and hammer.

but I will build that set later was thinking Cele trinkets would be a good choice for an all around option

Okay so I decided to go with guardian ankitten ow onto gearing up I know in time I’ll have several sets for certain . but as for right now I only have the funds and materials to make one set.
I have 2 ascended clerics trinkets ( amulet and a ring) for my 6 main gear peices I was thinking of crafting marauders. I’ve leveled my armor smithing to 400 recently to do this.

my question is would a marauders set be a good choice for a setup for someone that wants to get a taste of all the game modes maybe switch weapons if I end up in a zerg or dungeons and such?

I have the issue with stats that I have no idea what I’m supposed to look for… I want to do some solo roaming and my guild wants me as a staff hammer for zergs

so I’ve decided to give the Guardian a go. my guild runs zergs quite often and would like guardian to use a ah build with staff and hammer.

but I’m also interested in some solo roaming as I tend to play for odd times. I love the look of greatswords havnt got a good feel for hammers but working on it and I love the look of shields.

I’m currently in Knights gear so I need to get gear for the ah build but what should I be looking for as a roaming build. hopefully able to make it splice together a bit.

it’s kind of the reason I look at warrior for greatsword is cause I love the way it feels and looks and I love being mobile lol.

I’m trying to learn the Guardian cause 2 years ago it’s what I spent gems on for bag slots and everything. plus it seems more wanted for wvw i was more so.hoping for one character for all game modes

thank you very much for your input. I haven’t had much of a chance to play alot i did do some spvp with guardian and been finding I like the look and uses of a shield so I’ve been using a sword along side that.
been thinking if I continued spvp with guardian scepter would be a better choice. I also like the greatsword.

I haven’t gotten to do much more dungeons as of yet either. it’s been a toss up of going out and gathering/ getting way points and leveling armor smithing. and trying to learn wvw but wanting the pve aswel haha

I’m still interested in mesmer aswel I have yet to fully unlock a elite spec on any toons.

been trying to just choose one because of my limited time I get to play. but it does seem my guild would have more use of me to play the Guardian and Imesmer thinking I can come up with a build I’d enjoy for pve content.
started looking and I like the way a shield looks and I’ve liked the sword skills but maybe for wvw I’d swap the sword for a mace and run with hammer or staff as my secondary.

already used on a ele which was my mistake lol

I made a mesmer this morning and been having a good time thus far. going to use the boost to 40 I have then I’ll take my first tour of some dungeons I think

lol I just might. mesmer looks interesting for all game modes guardian still feels a bit clunky to me

so I’ve recently started playing again after not playing for 2 years. I quit because I had to sell my computer. I leveled a guardian to 80 got him into exotic Knights gear but I remember it feeling clunky to play.

so with my return I want to only focus on one character. I like all game modes and would like to get into each more deeply. but with just one character that’s my biggest thing.

I enjoy dishing out the damage and supporting but not nessisarily being a straight up healer. I thought ele would be a good fit so I used my hot 80 boost on one and came to find I only like staff on that class.

so from looking at all the classes I’m between guardian and mesmer. I love never really playing a mesmer but hey look fun and interesting to me. and kind of fits what I’m looking for I think.

what might your opinions be?

I just have very limited amount of time to play lol. I really need to figure out if mesmer would fit me or just drop the idea and do the guardian

I will try to re learn guardian I will work on unlocking my elite spec. but I understand rev isn’t in the running anymore lol right now it’s between mesmer and guardian I don’t have a mesmer though

I’ve use started playing with lb but fully haven’t blocked dh yet. I like the looks of greatsword it tends to be fun. when I use to play in quite enjoyed the sword but didn’t give shield or focus a good try. hammer felt clunky to me but it’s starting to feel a bit better aND I usually always have a Staff on me while I’m using around wvw or even map completion..

it seems rev has been cut from the equation so I’m deciding between a mesmer and my guardian now

I’m hearing more and more that Rev isn’t so good. so my choices it seems are guardian or mesmer and I have no idea on mesmer how it fits in with wvw pvp and pve. well really neither do I know guardian for those things.

2 years ago guardian felt clunky to me and i couldn’t choose 2 weapons for the life of me. with my very limited amount of time to play I don’t want to focus on multiple toons yet I only want the one lol

what I am trying to accomplish is a main character for all game modes I only want one character. if rev is that broken I guess it’s between guardian and mesmer which wouldn’t take me long to level.

I have a guardian at max level already but to me it feels clunky if that makes sense. atleast 2 years ago it did I’m somewhat managing to play it but just unsure on what I’m even doing now

So i just bought hot and havnt played in 2 years when i played before i leveled a guardian to 80 didnt fully unlock everything but i unlocked what was needed for a build back then. to me it felt clunky for some reason.

so when i bought hot i used the 80 boost on a ele but i can only seem to play staff on it and id like to have the capabilities of handling myself in a pvp situation and roam a bit in wvw when i have time.

im also interested in doing dungeons and such. i havnt looked at many other classes yet. i the mesmer sounds neat with the illusions im unsure how they play though and with my computer if a mesmer would work well in a zerg situation anyways as i cant see or pick targets out.

im looking for what others think might be a good choice to play one class to do everything pvp pve and wvw

thanks for the tips on how to test my computer in just stood in lions arch and used a few spells I’ll try to wvw on my guardian tonight hopefully.

I’m truly hoping it works for me cause I’m looking for something casual that can keep my attention for when I have time to play.
and yea I fell in love with staff ele when I use to play gave me that feeling of playing the old n64 game “quest” lol

I quickly logged into my lvl 40 elementilist on my lunch break to see if the computer im currently using can handle the game and it seems to gold up just fine but i was lost with what i was trying to acomplish lol. wondering if it might be better to just start over on a new server possibly even just delete what i have which is a 40 ele and a 80 guardian

I use to play probably 2 years ago. Never really got into anything or understood how the pvp worked i got a guardian to lvl 80 but never really touched the dungeons or anything close to that.

i use to play world of warcraft but stopped after MoP. i enjoyed doing bgs and flipping stuff on the auction house and crafting to make alot of gold. i wasnt able to figure out how to do that on this game last time i played.

so I guess you can say i didnt really thrive at anything. so not knowing if im going to enjoy the game or not is HoT going to be needed to figure out these things? i just cant justify spending the money on an expansion if im unsure if im going to enjoy it and if this computer i have nowadays can even run it. (not the same as i use to have when i played)

I remember i was taking a liking to staff elementalist last time i played aswel.

I also got a 66 guardian im contemplating on playing again. I dont really enjoy needing to respec for everything

I found when i played a ele before that i enjoyed it quite a bit i was fine with changing attunements all the time i did play d/d swapped to staff. i just prefer the staff for all the combo fields i was putting out in wvw and dungeons.
for mesmer i havnt gotten one very high level yet (ele is 38 mesmer is 10) im not in a guild or anything organized i hope to change that soon. but for the time being im just trying to level my guys up and hoping to have a fun role to fill.
When i was watching some livestreams of people doing wvw zerging it seemd like alot to focus on which i thought ele would fit there better with the ground targeting

Im returning to the game and cant decide between the two mesmer seems a little weird to me so far with shattering your clones and all.
im looking to be useful in dungeons and WvW not sure what each bring to the table.
with ele i prefer to play with a staff
