There are a few things that I particularly miss in GW2, and about which I’d like to write here. I’ve decided, that in my spare time I’ll create a graphic representation of what I mean, that you can find here: http://tinyurl.com/spvpgw2
However, this is not everything that I think should be implemented in near future. I was thinking about other ladders and rankings for WvW and competitive PvP.
When writing about World vs World it would be nice to see similar rankings for each server, best commanders, best WvW players and guilds. Also, it would be nice to see guild names that held a particular keep.
There are also a few other things, that in my opinion could improve the gameplay. Firstly, an ability to play with my whole guild at the same time. My guild has 150 members, and it is virtually impossible for us to play together as a whole on WvW, which in turn ends in zerging with random players, that follow a commander and farm karma points. I miss massive sieges over keeps, that would prevent them from being taken for the next 5 minutes by a different server. At this point, every point that we hold on WvW has virtually no value, can be taken in moments by zerg and rewards players only with silver and karma. People just keep farming, killing other players only as a byproduct. There is no joy in mindless attacking one gate with no reward for a guild that leads the action, even in the form of reputation or simply their name over taken keep. What we have is constant zerg fights and chasing the Orbs of Power. There is no real competition over something, that will lure the players and give them fun for hours. There is no thing that is worth the effort and the time we spend playing.
I have a few concepts that i believe should improve the gameplay. All it takes is to make Castle capturable only once per day, and adding a boss, that will protect that Castle and face a real threat to huge zergs. All that of course doesn’t exclude player defenders. We should have one particular time for a siege to happen, and the boss should have increased drop rates for high-tier items, and the entire siege should reward badges of honor and a little more karma on completion. Guild that took over a castle should be visible to everybody on the map as a form of gratification. On addition to the boss fight there could be other mechanics for sieges, such as coordination for 3 different attack groups. For example, every group leader (mby 3 commanders) in order to seize the castle should at the same time channel a specific crystal located in three different parts of the castle, just after killing the boss, so the players could really cooperate. Such solution would improve the community and allow for a tighter forms of alliances between players and guilds. To make things harder, killed defenders should be transferred to different part of the castle, and unable to leave for a certain period of time until they would be able to continue the defence. Keeps already taken by a certain server would also give a slight buffs for the entire server. That keeps should be a strategic points, that need to be taken before sieging.
I think it would positively buff not only the server community but also the fun from playing itself. Players would need to think of tactics and ways of communication. Servers would gain equal chances and it would eliminate „night capping” that at this point is bad for the gameplay.
Going back to my graphics and ladders, it would be nice to see best guilds in competitive PvP from a certain server and the best guild from each server. Such guilds could compete between themselves in monthly championships, and winning team could gain unique PvP skins for weapons and armor and for example, a shining aura around it’s characters, that would be visible in PvP Lobby and LA. This way, 5 best players in PvP of that month would gain a great deal of respect and recognition among other players.
I see it this way: for the first 3 weeks of every month we would have eliminations period. Best teams from each server, that gained most tournament points in tournaments that are currently in the game, would represent their home server in the championships. Those groups would gain unique „server brand” armors and weapons skins to play the games. Next, those groups would play in the tournament system for the course of the 4th week.
Such system would introduce competition, that is needed for players to have fun and wanted to achieve more. Such system would give more life to the actual gameplay. Of course, everything should be available in a form of ladders and rankings, such as mine.
TL:DR – less pew pew, more coding;

I just have to laugh at those who keep using WoW as a reference to literally anything and everything, when almost every mmo ever conceived have offered mounts in their game.
I also love the folks here who get so angry at others who simply “suggest” a possible feature in the game, that they feel the need to insult and attempt to tell them to leave GW2 altogether.
After all, is this not the suggestion forum, or am i mistaken?Because most of those MMO’s are wannabe WoW clones, ArenaNet is all about making their OWN things, they don’t copy & paste 99% of things from other MMO’s just to get a lot of money.
They are already doing that. Grinding in GW2 is almost like on other MMO’s but here players get punished for playing. Dynamic events are from Rift, buying items for karma like on Rift. Crafting from Aion, Rift, WoW. Achievements, dungeons, pvp all that was ealier on other MMO’s.
So why no mounts?
There is nothing new … oh wait, new are ‘hearts’ and evade system.

2x thief, 2x elementalist 1xmesmer – all full exotic gears, all on team speak and we didn’t make it. We’ve tried 20 times. We had heal, we had dps, but 5x KD in a row is ridiculous.
U mean:
1. Grinding Cursed Shore: killing mobs over and over again and earning karma for nothing.
2. Grinding trolls over and over again just for mats.
3. Grind dungeons over and over again to earn bilion of tokens.
4. Killing the same bosses over and over again to get nothing.
5. 100% map ~ 3 days after hit 80.
6. Zerg Versus Zerg aka WvW. Yes it’s endgame but after taking the same castle over and over again for nothing it’s boring.
Cursed Shore? There is nothing to do just grinding the same events and killing the same mobs over and over again.
Endgame is fine?
What if my team is not able to end dungeon because is too difficult?
You mean “exploit” by half run?
From each dungeon chest u can earn only 1 token.
“farming exploit” – hah really? Using farm exploit to get 1 token from chest instead of 5? Smth is wrong here or I don’t get it.

Hello!
I just realized how fun this game is. For some time I’ve been looking for skin for my daggers. I’ve finally found nice Dragon Deep daggers from Arah dungeon. So I’ve decided that I would do this dungeon even there is no fun, no drop, no gold. All I have to do it’s just go there 30 times and earn 600 tokens (300 tokens each dagger). 30 times just for the weapon skin it’s painful but I was able to do that.
Now it’s the funniest part of my post. My guild mate told me smth very comforting. Namely, she told me there is no 5 tokens per boss, there is only 1 and 6 tokens from full run. I was happy to hear that but it’s not everything. Ppl which farm this instance are doing only first 2 bosses because doing whole dungeon is taking too much time. After my mega difficult calcutlations I have to do Arah 100 times if I find someone who want full run otherwise 300 times to get my two daggers skin.

I did, Masterpyro I did.
So now we have:
1. No gold from dungeons
2. No exp from dungeons
3. No fun from dungeons
4. No drop from dungeons
5. Ugly skins from tokens
6. more deaths because of dungeon difficulty after patch

I’ve changed Reflection to none and that helped. Switching between sub sample or super sample renderer helps too. Thanks for help guys.

Death Blossom is the most powerfull condition damage skill on thief. Perfect for pve and pvp.
Sparkfly fen sharks are bugged again.
I play thief. I killed 2 thieves in the same time yesterday. One of them was my pvp friend. After that fight, necro came and sucked me out in few seconds. So which class is OP now? Beside this mesmer are not OP? Bilion of clones, teleports, phatasm, stealths, cc …
just learn to play guys.
