How do you only have 2500 attack… I had 2500 attack when I was level 70 wearing blues…
Those are pathetic stats for a level 80.
It sounds like you don’t know how to gear your Warrior nor play him if you can’t handle Mesmers/Engineers. Guardians are also easy unless they are running away and kiting you for cooldown cycles. In that case, there’s no need to oblige them, just go for an objective. And elementalists shouldn’t be a problem.
If you have trouble against an elementalist in PvP, you should stick to PvE. They’re the worst profession 1v1 by a kitten amount.
Thiefs are only a problem if they abuse culling issues, where they basically get 3-4 attacks extra before appearing out of stealth. And even then, the bad ones will get instagibbed by Bolas>Frenzy + autos.

Henge of Denravi
Tier 1.5
Stormbluff Isle, Jade Quarry
Tier 1.51
Eredon Terrace
Tier 2
Isle of Janthir, Crystal Desert, Dragonbrand
Tier 2.5

Tier 3
Tarnished Coast, Gate of Madness, Yak’s Bend, Maguuma, Ehmry Bay
Tier 4
Sorrow’s Furnace, Sanctum of Rall, Darkhaven, Northern Shiverpeaks
Tier 5
Anvil Rock, Borlis Pas, Ferguson’s Crossing
Tier 6
Kaineng, Devona’s Rest
There is a huge difference in skill (probably a bad word, let’s use performance) between each tier.
Note Eredon Terrace. They are the worst of the best. Too bad the top 4 WvWvW servers are significantly better than the next 2 servers.
That means every other week, Eredon Terrace gets full 99% of WvWvW control.
Same thing happens in every tier where a higher tier gets bumped down for the week. (Exceptions to servers with strong standings at unusual times, for instance, CD with their aussie players.)
See Tier 6? Those servers almost never win, or at least never control anything beyond their own BGs. Every week, a random Tier 5 server gets essentially a free win.
These are only my friends and my own experiences playing on Tier 1-2, & 5 servers for extended periods of time. Tier 3-4 tend to have the most competitive WvWvW experiences consistently.
If people haven’t realized already, the Trinity exists in GW2.
It’s called… wait for it…
Warrior
Guardian
Elementalist
+2 Randoms
Warrior for dps + tank via double EP.
Guardian + Elementalist for constant 2k hp/second regen (via water finishers) and condition removal, retaliation, ~50% protection uptime
The last 2 slots really don’t matter once you have these 3. Any group that deviates from the above is generally going to run a lot less smooth.
It took you 2 hours to hit f
Spirits would be better if you could trait them to stealth or linger their passive effects for X seconds after they die. Otherwise, the non-elite spirits as a whole are kind of underwhelming traited, and borderline useless untraited.
My Armor Fish is: “Hot and Bothered”
Talking about pve or pvp?
Because Rifle warrior is a joke in dungeons whereas shortbow is actually legitimate dps.
It was always a ~50%.
They changed the wording to make this more clear.
Story Mode: 2 silver + ~10s from vendor trash, 30 minutes, can’t afk-watch a movie, isn’t fun
Farming @CS: 8 silver + ~60s from gathers + green/yellows, 30 minutes, can afk-watch a movie, isn’t fun
12s vs 68s while watching a movie
And they’re both not fun to do.
I don’t like it. I’ve come to swap to water so I can heal when I lose HP, while rotating between fire and earth for damage. Being able to only choose 2 elements means I’d have to stick in fire or earth while keeping Water free for healing, which just isn’t as fun and would limit the way I play the class.
You don’t need to swap between fire and earth for damage. You can swap between D/D or S/D and staff, and fully benefit from your trait choices.
Maybe I wasn’t clear. You can still switch which 2 of 4 attunements you want out of combat, just like weapon sets for other professions. You can select if you want to do mostly damage, mostly control, mostly support, or a mix of all 3. You can’t do that now without being kitten at the aspect you’re trying to maximize sans support.
It also means Anet can balance the profession accordingly, instead of noting that under ideal situations and cooldown and attunement management, you should have enough hp/s from 3 water skills, enough CC from earth skills, enough mobility from air, and just enough damage from fire to finish this encounter!
Right now, every Elementalist is forced to be a generalist. Or more specifically, a healing rain + aoe might dispenser.
I mean if that’s how you want to play, you could still do the same thing with Fire/Water with S/D PLUS Staff.
As someone who has an 80 or near cap of Thief, Warrior, Elementalist, Ranger, I think I can fairly claim that the Elementalist is the only profession whose unique mechanic (Initiative/Stealth, Burst, Attunement, Pet) actually hinders the power level of the profession itself.
Anyone else think that the current attunement system is really bad for the state of the class?
As I wrote here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Ementalist-are-very-very-Underpowered/first#post333033 I mentioned that the current attunement system necessarily forces Anet to balance the profession based on all available skills, all 20. Even though we’re not specced for all 20 via our traits.
My suggested fix was to only allow the usage of 2 elements in combat (sort of like other professions being stuck with their 2 weapon sets in combat.) In return, we gain weapon set swaps like every other profession.
For any given encounter, we can choose how much damage, support, control we want to be able to contribute. Instead of that amount being fixed for all Elementalists. Gives us fluidity and flexibility, something they remembered when they designed the Engineer profession but forgot by the time they Q&A’ed Eles.
As someone who has a thief, warrior, ele, ranger all at 80 or extremely close to cap, I can say fairly that Ele is vastly underpowered as anything but a combo field generator/executor.
I think in a game like GW1, where a vast portion of the game is soloable (i.e., does not explicitly require a party), being able to DAMAGE in addition to support/control is a necessary aspect of every profession.
Every other profession can short-cast time or instant-cast a rotation that does similar if not significantly greater damage than the elementalist. (We assume equal gear dependent on your build, don’t quote a condition damage rifle warrior for instance.) And if does have a long cast time, the skill will at least home-in (can still be LoS’ed) and not depend on opponent immobility, nor hamper your own mobility.
They need to fix the attunement system. It FORCES Anet to balance the Elementalist around the fact that (s)he can cast any of the 20 weapon skills at any given time. So if half the weapon skills are support (more like 75% with staff), then she is forced to become a support. Neglecting support skills to focus on dps at any given significant period of time means you are not playing your class to its full potential.
The ATTUNEMENT SYSTEM FORCES EVERY ELEMENTALIST TO PLAY SUPPORT AT LEAST 30% OF THE TIME.
I don’t want to HAVE to play support to play my Elementalist to its max. Just like I don’t want to play a mobile spirit build on my Ranger except when I feel like it. Just like I don’t want to play a shout specced heal/condition removal build on my Warrior except when I feel like it. Just like I don’t want to play a combo field/perma-weaken build on my Thief except when I feel like it.
I can opt not to play those builds in dungeons and still be contributing extremely well. If I choose not to use most of my support skills as an Elementalist, I’m hampering my party output by more than half.
D/D Ele is unnecessarily dangerous in dungeons and is still less single target dps than Thieves/Warriors/Rangers, and is far less 2-3 target dps.
All other professions can contribute support for 4-5 seconds every minute, and they’ll last. We have to circle jerk around our damage spells’s cooldowns and fiddle with support spells in the mean time.
Honestly, they should force you to specialize in a specific attunement meaningfully like in GW1.
I’d much prefer only being able to use 2 attunements in any given combat period (as every class is stuck with their current 2 weapon sets in combat), but allowed a weapon swap.
Thus if you want to primarily damage with some control, you can, instead of having to primarily support with some damage.
I really think that simple change will fix most Elementalist problems.

What’s really op are thieves that don’t stun/root break.
But I like my 21k Hundred Blades with 95% crit chance and 87% bonus crit damage and perma 20+ stacks of might!
some l2p here.
warriors are one of the best professions in pve
until you can consistently 0 death sm/em runs and make 50+ silver per run, you shouldn’t really be complaining about your profession, as you’d most likely be complaining about any profession you pick at that level of play.
A solution to make people play all the of dungeons (Make a weekly achievement reward - Tokens)

Do you think through your suggestions?
That’s ~27 dungeons in a week. That’s 4 per day.
Not very difficult, but it requires you to no-life GW2 and/or ignore the other aspects of the game: spvp/wvwvw/low levels alts.
GW2 has terrible culling
bad thieves are abusing it unknowingly, and they think they’re good
you have approximately 2.5 seconds to discern the obviously telegraphed hand gesture every time he intends to pull you.
You then have the option to press v, or double tap a movement key to dodge his scorpion wire and subsequently not get pulled.
That is ridiculously hard. Really hard. Dungeons should be nerfed for you.
Went in today, 2 Guardians, 2 Warriors and an Elementalist. Both Guards spec’d for support, both warriors in toughness armor with full exotics and not sure on ele build. We were using potions, foods, banners and even runes for extra 10% dmg.
The bomb room is impossible. We tried for over an hour with every method we could think of.
A group in full blues, aka <10 silver in armor, weapon, trinkets can cheese-kite Magg.
If you can’t do it, you’re just bad at execution.
It’s not really a hard strategy.
Send one. He’s about to die? Send another. Let him respawn and run back.
Rinse and repeat.
You should be done in <10 deaths unless your party is really bad at kiting, dodge rolling, or has kitteny glass cannon utility skills.
I CAN’T ZONE INTO ANY DUNGEONS.
HELP! TOO HARD TO ZONE IN.
DUNGEON ZONING NEEDS NERF NOW!!!!!!!!
Let’s see.. What server do you play, what server do people you play with play on and how do you go about trying to enter the same instance? Or can’t you enter it at all? If you can’t enter, try exiting the game and logging in again. If that doesn’t fix it, put all the answers to these questions in a support ticket under dungeons.
I can’t zone into any AC/CM/TA/COF/SOE on SM/EM, whether we’re all on the same server, or have cross-server party group.
We all end up in separate instance, or some people are forced to pick SM when we’re zoned into EM.
HROUDA IS ALREADY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. WOULD RATHER KEEP BROKEN DR THAT NO ONE EVEN LIKES OR SUPPORT BUILD THAN REVERT TO WORKING PRE 9/19 BUILD. THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS ON MY SERVER CAN’T RUN DUNGEONS. BUT IT’S OKAY WITH HROUDA AS LONG AS HE HAS DIMINISHING RETURNS IN THE CURRENT BUILD.
been like this since Sept 19 patch which introduced DR on exp/gold/tokens.
DUNGEON ZONING STRONGER THAN DUNGEON BOSSES.

I suspect the anti-DR is tied with the bug.
you get extra 50% crit instead
It is not even the groups getting split up per-se.
Some people are stuck with story-mode when the pop-up appears, even though we’re doing Explorer mode (and someone is inside in EM already.)
Vice versa holds true.
Can’t even get a story mode group going.
This has been ongoing since the 9/19 patch when you introduced diminishing returns. Thankfully, that coincided with Borderlands 2 release date… so I can at least get some gameplay there.
because either my group or I can’t zone into the dungeon to begin with.
CoF is bugged, 50+ people waiting outside and can’t get in.
