Fractal legendary armor (doesn’t need to be a fancy skin – can just be stat swapping like the PVP / WvW ones) for PVE players who don’t want to raid. It can be STUPID expensive, but at least give players a way of getting it that does not involve them playing content they are not interested in (again – as they have provided for WvW and PVP players).

The biggest concern with fractal legendary, even if it has no unique skin, is that raids is the source for PvE legendary armor, and we don’t want to diminish that.

That said i don’t think anyone would complain about a fractal style armor set assuming you guys can spare the artist and resources to do it.

That is the real question. Armor sets are surprisingly expensive in terms of developer cost.

We just need to delete charr first…

You have it backwards, just need to delete the non-charr so we can finally have proper tail armor.

Raid Healing Role: Healing Turret vs Med Kit?

Medkit costs engineer basicly all of their damage for some poor healing.

And with regards to it versus healing turret, healing turret has solid regen uptime 12/21s assuming you blew up the turret, higher if you pickup. And you can’t make an arguement for the throw skills on medkit when you could blast atleast 2 times in your own water field for a base 2.6k extra for every ht cast. you also have the toolbet water field which can be combo’d for another 1.3k heal if timed with FT 2. And then you have to account for all of the blasts your party could put into the water fields, which can tally up fast and all of the blasts can hit up to 5 people.

can somebody sum up for me, how Conjures were nerfed? I hear that a lot here…

Well people are talking about two different instances, in the old days eles could use Firery Great Sword 4 without a target to spawn numerous aoes which could tick for insane amounts of damage. This was ultimately nerfed for all game modes due to the fact that anet found out how players could use it get an instant lord kill in pvp.
Edit:They promised a buff but never buffed it just the tool tip*

As for the others…
Currently they haven’t been nerfed, we don’t know what they plan on doing to Ice bow or Lightning hammer but we know they plan to nerf/change them.
And as far as I have heard they are going to be nerfed game wide due to the uses they have in the new game mode strong hold, since to win at this pvp mode you have to pve, conjures are naturally great along a whole chunk of other ele skills. If this is true I personally will have no faith in anet anymore, in that they are so lazy at balance that they will nuke entire class skills because of one mode for all modes.

Druids in general are brought more for the damage buffs than their own damage, though they can still pull out moderate dps. In raids depending on the group they will bring more healing or more damage depending on how well their team can handle damage.
Since you don’t want to have multiple sets of gear you’ll probably want to go with a tempest since some groups expect a chronomancer to have a set of commanders gear and others expect you to have a assassin’s/berserker mix with a toughness infusion or food thrown in for tanking.
Tempest all you need is a set of berserker’s gear for generally all the current bosses.

As for high level fractals you get more than enough healing out of the heal skills on ele and chrono as it is to the point that the druid is seldom if ever really healing. And you get more milage out of protection dodging blind or aegis than you do out of healing damage.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I am not saying I want to see other classes as dps. I am saying that if you look at the majority of the raid mechanics, they are always about surviving, and dps is handled mostly through class abilities etc, and very little damage is attributed to raid mechanics.

I’m saying it could be interesting to have raid mechanics that are for damage rather than surviving. Maybe with a hard enrage timer, so that missing mechanics is still problematic.

At the same time though, as we stand in the meta right now we have numerous builds for dps roles that work. The only classes that can’t reasonable run a dps role atm are rev & mesmer. Every other class has a dps set up that can do at least 24k dps reliably which is more than enough for all the bosses. Beyond that if you start adding more raid boss based dps aspects you end up hurting the diversity of the raids themselves and honestly having 6 slots basically always filled anyways, we don’t need another constraint added to the fights.
The main thing I fear personally is that anet will kill the pve balance we have the moment in the name of something stupid like nerfing chronomacer, which would kill the comps in raids as they are now. /tangent
-side note: when I say 24k dps that’s before things like dodging toughness and the like.

Dungeons are largely a forgotten game mode, most players who came up with a lot of the old strats don’t even play the game anymore.
That said Mastery points have nothing what so ever to do with anything other than displaying the number of masteries a person has unlocked, just like AP.
If you want to actually do things the way the used to be done while doing a tour of the like ~21 commonly cleared paths you’ll probably just have to find a static group or guild to do them with since not many pugs are going to care how long it takes; seeing that most of them will be doing them for the first or second time and still being caught up in the fun of the content and not be all about that gold/hour.

Conjured Weapon Change Idea

So as a long time lurker this is my thread created so bare with me on that.
But anyways, as some one who has logged 1,500 hrs on Elementalist, with 7 other level 80s I came with an idea for a change to how conjure weapons work.
I’ve always felt since launch that between the 1min CD 1min Duration and 15 base charges that conjures in general are overly restricted. The inability to use your standard Ele skills always felt like it was more than enough punishment.
What I purpose would be simple, conjured weapons should, IMO lose the charge system.
But in return lose the baseline ability to summon two conjures and instead the conjurer Fire trait would instead grant the ability to summon one for allies.
I feel like at-least that this would be a fair trade off, not to mention the fact that this would allow the conjure flame ax and conjure earth shield to see more use as their auto attacks have always been severely hampered by the charge restrictions.
Anyways, I would really enjoy other ele’s thoughts on this.

Not really considering combo fields are meant more as a cross weapon/player things rather than something you can constantly spam. Not to say there aren’t exceptions, but if everyone had a full combo it would hurt team play.
And if they wanted you to bring aoe heal to the table they would have given you an aoe heal rather than water and a blast.

Well i like idea of legendary armor but also for a person who is not played Raid ever before only because all guilds and player are very strict and only want people with experience which is impossible to obtain as no one in sane mind would ever take you on raid. One dose not simply join raid team or clan! why cant developers develop a system same as in fractal to let players learn and progress to higher level? Why make unique content for raids only and promote players to earn real life money for taking individuals around? Thai is really unfair on solo players and shows how little considiration GW2 team shows for people who just joint game recently or attempted to start playing raids! I honestly find it much easier to pay some one to take me round rather then spend 6 hours trying to find a team that will take player without any Li

So a few things,
Raids are not a pay to get system, every person who got into raiding had to learn at some point.
Solo players in an MMO will always be at a disadvantage, make some friends join a guild, multiple groups are constantly looking for people.
It has been said many times that the fractal system does not work for raids, and there are currently multiple easy bosses that allow you to ease into the content so there really doesn’t need to be another setting for them just so you can be lazy.
Additionally if you really want to raid, start your own group and make your own requirements like EVERYONE ELSE, not everything is going to just be handed to you.
Further it’s not like the bosses have super tight timers anyways, every boss can be killed with only 6/10 players on the high end with more than 1 min of enrage timer to spare.
Compared to any other MMO this game is incredibly flat in it’s gear progression, the gap between ascended and exotic is so small that more difference can be seen by actually just learning how to play your class proper. And as it stands Ascended takes next to no time to get, and for a number of pieces are basically free.

The whole point of the api keys is for sharing information with third parties where all of the control is in the hands of player giving out the key. And later they can choose to revoke the key.

Sharing the key with another player is no different than sharing it with a third party website.

DPS Training

Honestly while they maybe a nice idea in practice a lot of the time people have issues more so with preforming their rotations when they have all the other fight specific things going on like Cannons on sabetha as an example.
When it comes down to things in terms of “meeting dps checks” more often than not dps isn’t the thing that causes failures and more often than not it’s failing at mechanics.
I have been on far too many pug runs when my guild isn’t running where in which we have fine dps overall on gorseval but then when it comes to the charged spirits people break down run around a lot and spend over 2 mins on it because of one reason or another then have no issue meeting the dps check later for the world eater.
Not to mention the fact that bosses like Vg move so frequently unless you actively are invuln’ing the greens that even if players can pass a dps check on a non moving target they will fail at using skills because the boss will walk out of it.
I personally only really see the dps area good for applying spread sheet idea’s in a controlled environment.

Fun fact about ranger traps, the place animation even makes you immune to fear, you’ll have fear on your bar but it does nothing.

Attuned Infused Raid Rings

So I don’t know if this is a known issue but, while salvaging some underused raid rings, I found out that you don’t get magnetite shards from infused attune rings from raids.
Does anyone know if they have said anything about it as to if it’s intended?

Wouldn’t say not for anything, it’s impossible to pass up in WvW zerging but one of the problems with the weapon is it is a very choppy weapon. Sure you can do insane dps in fire but you don’t have any real defense aside from fire 4, Water can heal but not damage, air can keep you moving and control but pales in the dps category. And Earth has utility but no real damage making you very non-threatening.
With the other ele weapons there’s more even distribution of useful skills if you ask me. D/D for instance earth and fire both do nice damage air has the highest hitting auto with massive cleave and water has damage reduction, condi cleanse, healing, and a blast.
It takes a decent group to really take advantage of the Staff where everything else can stand on it’s own in general making them a better choice.
If you really enjoy staff try getting into dungeons or WvW since no one can out dps a staff ele running 6/2/2/2/2. Though you’ll have to probably be tankier in WvW not to be a free loot bag.

Destroying the Swirler in Snowblind Fractal

So awhile back you could break the top of this boss off to reduce the number of random ccs being thrown around in the fight.
As far as I know they moved the hit box making it unbreakable… but when I was in a bad pug fotm the other night with a necro we managed to break the swirler on top of the boss, and the necro complained that he was “bleeding something underground”. Tbh I was shocked so I didn’t get great footage at the time but later I went back and tried various things until I used, Epidemic which allowed me to take the condi’s off one the adds and apply it to the swirler allowing for it to be killed.
Does anyone have any idea’s why the Epidemic will work but Necro axe 3 fails to hit it even though they have the same skill radius?

As it stands right now we have more variety to raid comps than we would if we were to have 10 man buffs, since once you got down to it you would just have comps that brought 1 of every worthwhile support and then rest would just be filled with what ever the best dps was for that given slot.
We have some of that issue now however because you can only buff 5~6 people you can end up with comps where one part of the party has a condition focus on support and the other has a power focus on support. With 10 man group buffs you have less diversity in builds since there would always only be 1 build.
Raid comps as they stand are not that far apart from each other,
442, 541, 55 and to a lesser extent 721/6211 have compare-able clear times on bosses within ~1.5 mins generally on kill times so there isn’t really that much of a gripe since there are more people who do raids only kill the boss for the loot and not for the actual challenge like qt does.
Not to mention at the end of the day more often than not problems stem from players or methods rather than from over all party comp since all bosses currently can be cleared with 6 players some as few as 4 which means there is tons of room to run literally what ever you want so long as you get the job done. The only issue being that the longer a boss goes on the more likely someone is going to screw up so it’s generally better for consistency to push for better clear times and better comps to try and avoid the eventual mess up.

It’s a bug, and it should be fixed.

It’s not a bug, it effected it in the early betas, thieves got completely destroyed by it with no counter play so they removed the effect.

I always counted at least 5 spiders, 2 far and up towards the boss spawn, one close and up the short steps, one by the door and 1 to the left of the door you walk down from. It’s been like that since at least the revamp way back, if not launch.
