I recently changed the spark behavior in this latest patch – they should follow much better now. I noticed this thread was created yesterday, so I’m wondering if folks feel the sparks are still behaving badly? I watched our QA do it a few times and the behavior seemed to operate much better than it was before.

You QA experts can do it but what about us less experienced?

Most of the people I’ve added to my guild and friend list are from PUGs that were fun.

I’m think this is just going to hamstring the dungeon system no matter how ‘polished’ or ‘easy’ they make things.

I’m still getting level 30 loot on my 80…ARGH to that sir.

Dungeons

Polished dungeons and removed the ability to use waypoints while any player is in combat.

Polished is extremely vague but NO waypoints while ANY player is in combat sounds like a really harsh idea, especially if you get stuck in combat bugs.

Wiping out on a boss is not the end of the world but it often is the end of a PUG group. I’ve had so many people leave because of a single wipe in many MMOs including GW2 which is going to be the norm and I think that is a terrible idea.

Why would someone trait that way and not use a shield/mace shield/sword?

You’re missing the 20% reduced two handed weapon trait entirely and regardless of your crits you wont do kitten against poison or burning.

A lot of you didn’t get the chest and I’m sorry.

Those of you that did, were you given sub 80 items on your level 80 characters?

I ended up with 78 and 79 golds and a couple 80 yellows though my guildmates and others all had 80 exotics and yellows.

Am I just the unlucky one who while fortunate enough to finish the event, still got subpar crap worth 40silver?

I’m not going to argue the ‘refocus’ of retaliation; I can understand why you’d want to go that direction from a balance perspective.

I’m not going to complain about the rearrangement of skills on the bar, although I would ask you to minimize this sort of thing. It’s really going to screw people up, especially with pvp-trained twitch reflexes. I will suggest that you give us the ability to rearrange our weapon skills on our skill bar and save the order in a character-specific local game file. This will resolve the issue for those who surely will complain about it.

I am going to complain about the cooldown changes:
Symbol of Wrath – cooldown increased by 100% to 20s
Leap of Faith – cooldown reduced by 25% to 15s

Like I said, I get the Retaliation change, but if you are going to remove/reduce our ability to reflect damage then give us a better chance to get into melee and deal damage by hitting things. I request a 10s cooldown on Leap of Faith.

[Edit] I have to agree with several other posters who have pointed out that Guardian synergy is closely tied to symbols, including our traits, damage, buffs, debuffs, heals, and survivability. Doubling the symbol CD is a big hit to all of the above.

I want symbol of wrath down to 15s
I want leap of faith down to 10s

Then, I will be satisfied

When a player dies two things happen:

  • They must pay in order to use the nearest way-point so they can revive.
  • They suffer damage to their armor.

While the damage to the armor makes sense, the fact that players are forced to pay in order to revive themselves is absolutely ridiculous.

This portion of the death penalty needs to be removed completely and replaced with something more appropriate that doesn’t require coin in order to accomplish a simple function that should be free.

I’m considering taking a white set of armor into WvWvW or going naked because I just can’t afford to die wp and repair

I’m just saying give something, the massive Dolyak zergs are now doing 30+ Karma runs around Orr while towers and keeps get captured.

Everyone doing something in PvE or sPvP aren’t there when towers and keeps are captured.

Hey everyone,

I don’t wanna write a big wall of text, i’ll try to keep my points short and direct.

1. Boss Fights
These boss fights are very simple, too simple for any MMO standart nowadays, people want to be challenged, i want to be challenged when i go kill a boss, the way this is, it’s just very boring to do any boss fight as there is nothing special about it, just like the 10 bosses you fought before.


You would assume they would put all their skills into making the Zaithan fight at least somewhat interesting, well, you’ll be dissapointed, it’s pretty much impossible to lose and there’s nothing fun about it

2. No healing class

When you ANET were designing the game, did you at some point said “what if instead of healers, we added these waypoints where people can rez?”

No tank, that would be OK, but no healer? Every fight is just a DPS race, until you get overwhelmed and you just die, rez go back and try to finish the rest of the fight with a few more deaths.

I would like you to take a step back and think, this is not working out, it’s definitely not fun at all, you need to change and bring spark back into the game, i hope the next expansion includes a healing class, otherwise i cannot possibly see how can this game will increase it’s player base or keep the people playing.

I hear more negative things about this game than positive, mostly because ANET decided to over-hype things, noone blames you, you tried something different, but didn’t work, swallow your pride and give the community what they want, and not what you think they want.

I’d really rather they take the penalties of repairing away in dungeons where death is assured.

no CD just give the same reward as you get for killing them.
At the moment there are groups of 2 or 3 people who just perma farm dolyaks while no one is defending them shince they give no rewards.

When we need supply badly to defend, I’m using my Guardian staff to speed them along as best I can.

Suggestion: Please fix Guardian GreatSword Traits/GS Symbol.

When my 80 Guardian uses symbols, he heals everyone around him.

He also brings virtue regeneration to everyone in the area.

When I use my staff I bust out 3 good heals.

When I rez you we get aegis, or we get a bubble or whatever.

None of this gets me anything at 80, maybe rez exp but that’s not a real reward compared to helping win the fight.

This was at first a very convenient way to finish dailies. Apparently it became a problem, and had to be disabled though I’m not sure what the whole issue was.

Will you please implement DR on escorting Dolyaks in WvWvW and reactivate the event rewards?

Am I the only one who wants Dolyak safety to be rewarding?

When I’d died enough times to lose money in WvWvW I’d stop and run a few Dolyaks to try to make up for the loss of repair costs.

When I wasn’t able to find a event for my daily to do right away I’d run a Dolyak and pow I’d have my daily finished.

Seriously… people ever kill all waves of them?

Just keep one alive and let 4 people proceed. It makes the dungeon really really easy and really short.

I just got done trying that. After about 10 minutes, the mob I was kiting glitched through a wall, and the next wave came. This happened 3 times in a row.

If we’re intended to defeat 15 waves of mobs that rapid fire grenades and can tank everything 5 people can dish out, then something needs to change. Abusing the way the mobs spawn shouldn’t be the only possible option.

Biggest flaw is the fact that people would want to skip content…that there is content to desire skipping.

Why, in any intelligent person’s mind, would they want to do something that isn’t rewarding? That is why these instances overly difficult trash monsters are skipped.

Personally if they ever dropped anything better than junk I’d be all for hitting everything that moves in a dungeon. They don’t, even with full magic find exotics, jewelry and food, the chests are full of blues and 1 green here and there.

At the end, you get a token payout so you can earn a set of exotic armor to your preferences, such as, your Magic Find set or your Vitality Precision setup with runes of the Cleric.

When you have 5 level 80s each down leveled but still traited, wipe over and over and over you realize something is wrong.

Is it the missing trinity? No Tank Healer DPS specialized?

Or is it the huge health pools of everything?
The terrible PBAoE and AoE skills that one shot if you don’t evade and are coming at you faster than your energy can fill.

What it feels like finding a dungeon in WoW/Rift “Need a healer or Tank, have DPS off tank and off healer” Bummer I’m not either of those, I’m just more DPS.

What it feels like finding a dungeon group in GW2 after half an hour or longer “LF1M for CM EXP Butler”

I’m an 80 Guardian and I do use stability.

Boss fights only taking 5 minutes? Seriously Kevin? What ever you’re smoking I’ll take some.

Some guy just said 15 waves.

Why are there 15 waves of these beasts between me and 2 chests?

Tedious content does not make for fun.

Their PBAoE and AoE and health all need a reality check because these guys are not fun.

Tried it again with holding 1 off but after we finished the pylons and got to the boss we were down a man, got him into the guy who controls gravity fight. Someone falls in lava, they are stuck. These waves were coming constantly.

if you want, just camp by the waypoint and kill them all. This gives you adequate time between waves, as well as space to spread out. Then proceed as normal.

15 waves!?

Ludicrous. The monotony of standing there wave for wave of PBAoE showering the ground and AoE flying in the air makes no sense.

Are these 15 waves part of a story about super soldier grenadier guards that somehow slide through without notice? Because these guys are kitten elite combat squads of death and frustration.

Not fun. Not even remotely fun. Tedious content does not impress.

We beat them back to the boss, beat the boss with a new team on us.
We beat the boss’s engineers.
We got the dialog for the next boss.

Cannot defeat with infinite spawning grenadier guards.

When are these things supposed to stop?
Are they?
Because its impossible to run back to the boss without dieing to the grenadier guards that keep spawning.

So if the boss knocks you into the lava you’re now 4manning the rest of the dungeon and if you happen to be able to 4 man that boss, you have to rescue the guy laying dead at the waypoint and battle your way back through them to get to the next one.

Is this a bug? Otherwise I’d question the design decision made in PBAoE damage and the health of these repeating trash mobs that are like mini boss fights because you’re constantly reviving someone who lacked the endurance to roll out of the machine guns of grenades these guys are.

PBAoE and AoE is kinda making trash mobs into epic long battles that likely down 4-5 players before 1 of them dies. Speaking of these grenadier guards of course.

I run a support Guardian Mace/Shield / Staff or Hammer

I bring healing signet and damage reduction

Valor
Allies +30 Toughness if I have melee with me or I can switch to meditations if needed
Shield skills 20% faster +90 toughness
Applying boons on allies heals me
Between the Mace -33% damage and the shield -33% damage and the symbol I’m in a constant state of health gain as long as allies are around if not then I switch over to meditations healing me

Honor
20% Reduced shouts bringing hold the line and stand your ground
All symbols heal allies or 20% cooldown on two handed weapons
Nearby allies gain Virtue regeneration

It works well enough in dungeons that even Logan and Rytlock stay alive as well as most ranger pets!

If I have to swap its an easy switch to make from shouts to meditations like clearing conditions or teleport burning

Change it to Hammer focused or Staff as I mention above.

I find the massive spray of green healing numbers to be quite thrilling.

I love the difficulty of these dungeons and hope they remain unchanged. wiping many times in order to figure out the mechanics of a fight is more than rewarding.

The silver spent repairing is so rewarding eh?

  • For elitist who claim they can complete everything and its all way too easy
  • For PUGs and first timers who need less of a challenge until they can move up into elitist mode?

That is all I’m seeing around here.

I doubt anyone who claims these dungeons are simple and easy based on the experiences I’ve had.

However since every post anyone makes about anything is followed up by someone from the you’re doing it wrong crowd of superior gamers we need two different modes.

Mode 1 Half HP on everything Half Damage 10-20 tokens Practice mode
Mode 2 Current mode
and maybe
Mode 3 Double HP Double Damage and 90 tokens

Problem solved?

I’m a WoW player all the way from beta to Pandas
I’m a Rift player from pre order headstart 17 hour queues to Storm Legion

I’ve Raided big long and coordinated

My mains have always been healers or tanks, I love that this game has neither truly.

Calling Explorable Mode RAIDS wouldn’t be any different than calling Dynamic Events Raids or personal story single player mode.

The issue here is some encounters are outrageous and frustrating to the degree of massive forum feedback.

I purpose 2 things

1. Give us a sticky to list the encounters specifically so we can look at them individually.

2. Eliminate the DR, less interference is more in my opinion. If not then give the DR some tweaking so that people can finish get there elite buddies together and not have to end their fun when nothing is rewarded.

The same can be done for boss encounters that are simple but MASSIVE HP time sinks. These bosses need to be more interactive and less of a snooze.

Two sons of Svnir Ice monsters in HoTW idols path did nearly no damage but have over 9000^2 hp and took 30 minutes apiece of just wailing on them.

Then the guy with the two pet dogs beat the everliving crap out of us, yes we got past him and finished I have the Kona to show for it and I think it was interesting and intense but some of the other encounters are obviously not fleshed out and really need looking at.
