So I just came back to this game to check out the latest patch. I figured I’d give Flame Citadel a go. Boot up LFG and join a party straight away. The leader [Warrior] asks me ‘you have another toon?’. He then follows up with ‘no ranger. swap or kick’.

How long have Rangers had to suffer with this? And why has nothing been done?

That’s pretty rude way to do a request by demanding something.

Considering it’s been one and half years since this bug was discovered, I would say it’s pretty reasonable to demand a fix for this.

Seriously. What the kitten. The bug fixing team are clearly intentionally avoiding this problem. They don’t respond or keep us updated.

It’s obvious you can’t fix it so just give us a new model for the bow. THE SOLUTION IS REALLY THAT SIMPLE.

Ghostly Bow glow effect is still disappearing when the bow is shot. This bug is not class nor race specific. It is apparent on all classes and races. A screenshot is not necessary as this is a known bug since the release of Guild Wars 2.

I posted a ‘bait’ message here previously. It was removed and I got a warning. The moderators DO read this but choose not to say anything.

The bow hasn’t been working properly since release. The effects aren’t supposed to show up during the day. They only show up at night. The bug is that the effects disappear at night when you shoot the bow.

This bug was apparent on all the other ghastly weapons, but they were quickly fixed. Only the bows remain bugged.

I suspect this bug was ‘too’ difficult to fix, so they simply abandoned it and moved on.

Still no fix in the major content update. What is the bug fixing team actually doing? Twiddling their thumbs hoping the bow will fix itself over time?

I wouldn’t pay a cent. This is unbelievable. At least give a refund to people who bought the piece of kitten non fixed bow.

Just wondering since it seemed to be an issue in the past, but do the ghastly weapons still glow if transmuted? I bought a shield with the wrong stats and I want to transmute it badly. I’m afraid that if I do, however, it won’t glow anymore.

Can the owners of this bow at least get an update on the fix? It’s been 3 months since Jason King last commented on this issue. Has it been forgotten? Have they given up? At least give us compensation or a new animation to go with the bow.

I love how this bug has been here since day 1 of release.

Why don’t they just copy the WoW model. Leave direct damage attacks on pets the same, but have non direct damage such as AoE’s or hits from a cleave attack do much less damage on pets. Of course if the cleave attack was directed to the pet then it should do full damage.

Sorry. Not only did I MISS a few laurels. I also missed the monthly because I couldn’t complete the Daily. If it was just a few laurels I wouldn’t care. An important bug like that which took 3 days to fix is pretty poor.

I just completed 5/5 as well. No chest no reward.

Ghastly Short Bow glow is still not fixed. Glow disappears as soon as the bow is used.

It kinda sucks as well. I randomly take 13k damage in a single shot. I have the Knight amulet equipped as well. Nothing should be doing that much damage.

Reveal is stupid. Why have an elite skill dedicated only to counter thieves. No one would use it. Please stop thinking Rangers are Hunters from WoW.

Asura Protean Leggings of the Knight bugs out with Guild Assassin Backpack of the Beserker. It causes the backpack to look like below;

If I use the Emblem on my pistol, will it completely remove the original pistol skin? Or will it just plant the emblem on the side of my existing pistol?

Title says it all. Any good Shortbow skins? I’m currently using AC SB, but that still bugs out at night (glow effect disappears for no reason). It’s also ugly during the day.

You say that Ranger is the class that needs the most improvement. Yet the Elementalist change list was huge. Ranger change was tiny. You hardly spent ANY time on Rangers compared to Elementalists.

There is nothing funner though on the Warrior than to Bull’s Charge + Frenzy + Hundred’s Blades, and killing someone before they get to stand up. I’ve hit for 16k in WvWvW with my last hit of Hundred’s Blades.

Jokes on you. You hit 16k in total. Your last hit didn’t hit for 16k.

It’s probably better if they just reduce the bonus by 50%.

I know it’s part of another ability. I think it would be better if it was replaced as F2.

This pet’s skill should be charge instead of forage. The ability should also be instant.

I’m currently using the Whisper’s Secret Dagger. It’s nothing flashy. But it has an animation when you unsheath and sheath them.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m getting really frustrated with my Ranger in WvW. The lightning evade utility is so unreliable but is our only stun breaker. It doesn’t evade if you’re stunned. It only breaks the stun. So you’re still a sitting duck while your character does the stupid ‘evade’ animation.

You can’t use the lightning evade if you’re getting chased by enemies because that would make you dodge right into them. It’s impractical to have to turn around to face your enemies, and then use the utility.

The Pet Sacrifice is near useless as well since pets die very quickly. And we’ve all established that spirits are kitten.

I feel that Ranger really has little survivability. Am I missing a utility or weapon ability?

@Posibabis No class should be able to have that much burst. Answering your edit, when the thief is still invisible due to the culling issue AND has quickness, I very much doubt anyone would react fast enough to get away with a good amount of health. By the time you get away, the duel is over. You’ve lost so much health compared to the the untouched Thief.

@Grind How is Heartseeker spam useless? When the Thief backstabs for more than half the opponent’s health, Heartseeker becomes so powerful especially with high crit builds.

I wonder if you play the game. Heartseeker + Quickness is instant. You can’t miss with it.

Considering you have to completely trait and equip your thief to specifically be good at backstab, and then having your entire character completely countered by someone simply standing with their back against the wall. I think it’s fine.
Just find a wall. This is especially easy in spvp.

Really? Just find a wall? The Thief instant shadowsteps to you before you even realise he’s there. Then by the time you realise, half your health is nearly gone already. The thief then proceeds to spam Heartseeker + Quickness while you wait for the culling effect to go away.

Nearly all Backstab Thieves won’t charge at you. They wait on the sidelines for the opening when their opponent is busy with someone else.

1) prob wvw and he has full exotic gear to your meh gear and under leveled
2) your running with around 2k toughness and low health

Yay another Thief who can’t admit the fact that Backstab is OP. Let’s go through the list shall we?

Jesus guys. Thieve’s are so easy to kill when they are sitting in stealth. Just spam auto attack / aoe’s. It doesn’t matter if you can’t see them. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve killed thieves who are in invis by just swinging my weapon around like an idiot.

And thieve’s invis shouldn’t be nerfed if it’s a culling issue. Wait for the culling issue to be fixed first before crying out for thief invis nerf.

1. Buy thief hood from vendor and store in bank.
2. Create new thief.
3. Open bank and transmute vendor hood into new hood. Store transmuted hood into bank.
4. Profit

This issue is getting way out of hand.

I wish people would post the name of their gear along with their screenshots. Wouldn’t that be something?

Could not care less about Pistol Whip. It’s a bad skill that roots you in place. But I don’t think they should have nerfed it. Quickness should be nerfed instead.
