Which tier of the meta are you working on for the League Champion? And where did you make it last season if you participated last season?
Last season, I made it to Emerald and completed all Part 1 achieves, unlocking part 2. This year I did Amber and Emerald, and then the rest of Part 2, unlocking part 3. I then did Sapphire, reaching Ruby, so my understanding was that that would clear League Champion as I crossed 3 thresholds in one season. According to Reddit though, ANet decided to leave out the part where it doesn’t carry through -_-
Seems like a bad design to me, since it means those of us who can’t make it to legendary (let alone complete it mutliple times) have to wait for multiple seasons to come through to do these achievements.
The least they could do is make that clear in the achievement description.
So I finally made it to Ruby today but the achievement League Champion, which simply states “cross 3 league division thresholds in one season”, hasn’t unlocked. It’s stuck at “1/3”… This can’t be right, right? There’s no way ANet wants me to get through DIAMOND, and then to get through FOUR LEGENDARIES, if I want to complete these achievements this season, RIGHT? eye twitching
I know a staff is not a halberd, but what I am saying is that the way a staff is used by Daredevil, means a halberd SKIN would work.
So for a while now I’ve been kinda upset that there’s no halberd weapon in GW2, considering it’s my favourite type of weapon.
Last week, Daredevil came out and I’m loving every minute of it. Then a thought came to me: this is the perfect time to have a halberd skin for staves, as the Daredevil’s staff skills are all melee, mostly slashing and swiping like a polearm.
Sorry to hear about this and hopefully support will be able to make a switch. If not, here’s a suggestion:
You’re lucky that your problem involves rings. If you have full exotic you can try doing some low level (1-9) Fractals of the Mists. For each run per day you’ll get a Pristine Relic, and for 10 of those you can get an ascended ring. They’re good practice for combat/dungeons, and great fun if you run them with friends or are just fortunate enough to find nice people on LFG.
As the title says, I’m getting a new PC, upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit. This means I’ll have to wipe my hard drives so I’m backing up important files. What I wanna know is: is there ANYTHING at all that I should/need to back up regarding GW1 and GW2, or is everything important stored on a cloud file. Best case scenario is it’s all stored on ANet’s end and I don’t need to back up anything, as that would save so much space on my external, but it’s better safe than sorry after all
20 kittening uses of the bloody skill, and not a single interrupt.
Seriously, this achievment is terrible. I originally thought that it was a decent update with just one bad thing, but honestly, this ‘one bad thing’ is actually what ruined the entire update. For people like me who like to collect achiements and/or complete temporary content before it goes away, this is just a week’s worth of stress and rage waiting to happen.
I would have to agree. Getting 100 interrupts is too much of a grindfest. Tier 1: 1 interrupt. Tier 2 of achievement: 100?! April is not here yet, so no April Fool’s joke. An extra zero at the end? No, because I’ve gone above 10 interrupts. So it’s simply grind, grind, grind!
Oh boy! If this is any indication of the forecoming new systems in the super-hyped expansion, there will be trouble. Mastery system, wink-wink.
Arguably, achievements are optional (there are 2 sides to this crowd). But, that’s no excuse for the unbalanced amount of the aforementioned achievement. Even within the newly set of achievements for the Dragon Ball activity, the “Dragon’s Gaze” achieve is out of order.
Did Anet even have someone or anyone, sit down, and play the game? A process known as testing the game. Perhaps the content wasn’t as important as to whether it works or not. Almost as if the 2 week mark to release new stuff came right around the corner, and they did a rush job to push out this tiny amount of content. But, to make it last longer, the traditional answer to mmorpg: grind.
Inb4 the ‘YOU DON’T NEEDâ„¢ IT SO IT ISN’T GRIND, YOU JUST WANT IT, ITS YOUR FAULT IF YOU MAKE IT A GRIND’ harpies descend.
Putting an opposing argument in capital letters and calling people harpies doesn’t make it wrong. People have to learn that if they’re not enjoying doing something in-game, that’s a good time to stop doing that thing and do something else they enjoy better.
In this case, though, I admit I do have to wonder why anybody would want to do that achievement.
Well for me personally, I’m already a massive achievment kitten, but this one has the added allure of being temporary. It’d be one thing if this content was permanent and you could get it at your own pace, but it’s gonna go away… whenever the update ends (don’t think ANet even said how long this would last), so if you miss it now you potentially miss it for good (assuming it never comes back again)
You’re not seriously comparing that to the WvW achievements, are you?
Let’s see, with an average of 2 interrupts per game (not very hard if you go for them) it would take you 50 games. At about 10 minutes per game that would be a total of 8 hours and 20 minutes, or about 4 days of intense Dragon Ball gaming.
Now let’s compare that to the Yakslapper. At a rate of killing one Dolyak per 2 minutes, which is pretty generous given that you cannot usually keep that pace for long, it would take 33,333 hours. Let’s say you’re really hardcore and play for 8 hours per day every day, you’d be done in 4,166 days, or 11 and a half years.
No, I don’t think we’re even on the same scale of magnitude here.
First off, assuming you DO get 2 per game and… I don’t know how 50 games would ever equal 8hrs, or how 8hrs would equal 4 days, but putting math aside, I’ve had so many games where I just get no interrupts because the few times I manage to actually get the pickup and live long enough to use it, the bugger either evades or their timing isn’t matched with mine. And it’s VERY strict timing.
Second, the difference between this and Yakslapper is that Yakslapper is permanent, but this is temporary, so at least Yakslapper can be done at your own pace.

11 in like 1 hour and 30 minutes. Too much time wasted on this.
10 per day and I SHOULD be done in 10 days…
They will never understand that we want hard achies, not time consuming ones…
Also there’s a difference between hard and luck-based.
It annoys me about as much as group-achievments, like the Shadows Behemoth portal one. They’re only possible if the people you’re with are willing to help, and when enough people have it it becomes REALLY hard to find those people.
Achievments should be something that you personally put a lot of effort into unlocking and that require skill, not luck.
1. Only need to play for LUNAR dailies and barely have to play any games
2. Games generally aren’t that long
3. Rewards come from dailies
Don’t like it, don’t play it. Simple as
Also add to the equation that the pickup for the skill respawns slowly and other people will keep grabbing them, and the range is short, and it’s kinda laggy.
Overall, not a fun achiev. It’s interesting ‘cause the special pickup ones aren’t particularly hard (at least not for me, maybe I just got lucky) but they’re set so low. This one’s legitimately hard and it’s set so high. I get that it’s meant to be an actual achievment, but as you said it distracts from the actual game as it’s not something you’ll just get as you play, at least not in the limited time it’s available, especially with how useless the skill is when you get down to it and how much timing is needed to interupt your target.
The health pickup achiev is the most well-balance achiev as it’s easy enough to get them, but it’s set high enough that you have to keep at it, and is actually something that you WILL get as you keep playing normally.
Ahh, I see. Thanks, that was confusing the hell outta me

Honestly I’ve only recently started PvPing more than just the ocassional match :P
Hi all,
I’m a little confused about something on my PvP stat screen. It’s telling me that I’ve played 3 ‘solo arena’ games in the past, but I can’t find a ‘solo arena’ topion anywhere on the PvP interface.
I’ve played 1 unranked arena, 129 ranked arenas and 502 practice matches, so these ‘solo arenas’ can’t be anything to do with them. What’s the deal with solo arena then? How do you join a ‘solo arena’ match and how does it differ from other matche types?
Hiyo, essentially what the title says. I’m not looking for a guild to be a full-time member of as I’m already part of such a guild, but the trouble is we don’t do missions a whole lot and I’m looking to purchase some skins with commendations. So if there’re any guilds that do missions regularly that don’t mind me tagging along, I would be grateful if you’d let me join
I’m also willing to purchase a couple of Lengthy Letters of Thanks (1k influence ea) as thanks for letting me tag along.
Hey all!
I’ve looked in a lot of places and I’m having trouble finding an official place to seek help from other GW1 players so I thought I’d ask here. I’m currently stuck on the ascencion missions in Prophecies and those AI really aren’t helping. Does anyone know where I can find other players to party up with for missions and what-not?
If there’s somewhere better to ask this please could you provide a link? Thanks
Last episode? Oh fizzlesticks… No way such a wide story with still so much untold stuff can wrap up in one episode. Big one or not. It would have to be almost the size of 5 episodes (the bigger ones, all combined) in one episode, to suffice for a ‘finishing season 2’ chapter. So i’m really very pessimistic about the outcome…
Well last ep of Season 2, but not neccesarily last ep in general.
Thanks Nia for letting me tag along. I’m happy to announce I have now completed this dungeon and and earned all but 2 of the achievs associated with it
If anyone else would like to group up to help me with those two (the electric floor and foreman spur ones) feel free and I’d be more than happy to help you with achievs in return
Aww. Ill see what I can do, are you on Na by any chance?
I have work in about 15min so I cant help just yet, although Ill see what I can conjuor up in about 4hrs time when I finish work.Sarah
Assuming Na = North America, no. I’m in England and on the server Whiteside Ridge (will add this info to my opening post). I’m not expecting any immediate help, which is part of why I made this forum post. I hear this path can take upto 3-4 hours so it’d probably make things easier to arrange a date rather than just see who happens to currently be free.
EDIT: I’m happy to announce I have now completed this dungeon and and earned all but 2 of the achievs associated with it

Decided to try my luck here since LFG is only so useful (and I can’t be waiting on it 24/7). Basically, this is the last dungeon I need to complete for Dungeon Master. Unfortunately, as you may all be aware, it’s not very popular. To date the farthest I have ever made it in a single group is the Slick and Sparki fight (we managed to kill Slick but lost to Sparki once).
I’m no newbie when it coms to dungeons, but the Aetherpath is still largely untrod territory for me and, unfortunately, anyone else I manage to form a group with. You explain what needs to be done, I’ll pick it up quick and do my job. Essentially what I’m looking for is a few patient, experienced players to help me get through the Aetherpath (optional events at the end, too).
Note: I am not going to BUY help for this path, mainly because I don’t have the gold to be throwing around buying guides. My hope is there’ll be some generous spirits out there who can help me and, who knows, maybe we’ll have fun together
So, yeah, post here if you’re interested or add me in-game.
FYI, I’m in England and my server is Whiteside Ridge.

Hey guys. I’ve been at this achievment for MONTHS, and I can’t get it, simply ‘cause nobody seems to care whenever I go to a behemoth fight. There are plenty enough people for it to be achieved, but only a certain amount actually go for the portals when they’re up, and of those they move as part of a train, rather than scattering.
So I thought I’d give the forums a try. Anybody else who wants this achieve (or just wants to help
) post here and we’ll arrange a meet at a behemoth event together. Ideally if we get at least 13 people it should be a cakewalk (1 at each portal, assuming each one can destroy their portal in less than 20 seconds), but obviously more would be welcome, and it should be do-able with less (I’d say… 8 people at the very least?)
So yeah, post here if you want in on this and once we have a good number of people we’ll talk dates and times
Good ol’ ArenaNet, ‘fixing’ things no one complained about.
But not touching things that are actually broken with a ten foot pole.
Not true! After two years of it being broken, they finally removed the hint system and retired the hint achievment.
Are you NA? If so I’ll be glad to assist with it. I’ve done the full PS a number of times
Thanks for the offer, but somebody’s offered to help me out
Also, I’m GB

As the title says. I’m currently stuck on the Ships of the Line quest in my personal story. I’ve been having a bit of a tough time with the personal story lately in general, but this one I’m really struggling with. If anybody could partner with me to help me out I’d greatly appreciate it
EDIT: Found somebody now
(edited by Yukito.9012)
So I’m going for the achievment to complete all hints right niow, but I’m having an issue with some of the specific class ability hints. They appear, and I follow the instruction, but they don’t get ticked off, no matter how many times I try it. The ones I’m having trouble with are:
Warrior Adrenaline
Necromancer Life Force
Ranger Pet Controls
Mesmer Shatters
Engineer Tool Belt
Guardian Virtues
If anyone could please help with this, I’d be extremely grateful. I want to create my fifth character but want to clear all these hints first so I won’t have to delete a chracter later on.
