I downloaded a bunch of free to play MMOs and Rift and SWTOR installed fine. However, I cannot install this game! My entire PC freezes and I can’t get past 5%. It takes a good 5 minutes for my PC to “un-freeze” and I will be able to download the game OK for a minute or so before it locks up again and I have to wait another 5+ minutes.
I have an i7, 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 780 Ti and have over 35 games installed on my PC (both offline and online games).
I haven’t played since release (got my only toon to Level 12 by questing and then maxed my crafting skills which got me to I think Level 22 or 32) and what I want to know is: What is the endgame like in GW2? If I hit max level, what do I do? I left my previous MMO (Rift) because all I did was:
Do dailies
Do raids
Is it the same in this game or is there more variety?
runes are for armor
sigils are for weapons
orbs/upgrade components are for jewels
You can’t replace an upgrade component on a jewel with a rune because runes are for armor not accessories.
Ah, I get it now. I thought I can just use any upgrade component for any item. I also noticed about the level requirement on the tooltip. I was able to replace a rune on my staff. Thanks everyone!
The item is part of the CE, Hero’s Band of Might, and I used a crappy white +3 Power rune and I want to replace it with the rune Sunstone Nugget (+5 Power, +1% MF).
I have a ring with a rune/upgrade component that I want to replace with a better one but I can’t seem to do it. The item becomes ‘red’ when I try to drag the new rune over it. If that is not possible, how do I remove the rune from an item without destroying the item?
I like that there’s seven of us (my toon + 6 minions) just killing everything in PvE. I am still leveling though L32 so far so don’t know if this will change in the higher levels.
Yeah, just add the link to the game launcher or send everyone mail or soemthing so it gets even more exposure. No need to waste valuable dev time coding one in-game when there’s already one working.
I’m leveling a Necro (L8 now) and this is my first GW2 toon. I was wondering if this class is needed in dungeon runs or if I should choose another ranged DPS class.
I played my very first WvWvW a while ago (around 7PM EST so this is primetime’ish in the East Coast) and there were about 10 of us defending one of the Keeps and about 8 or so attacking it. Is this normal in terms of number of people? I was under the impression there would be hundreds per side because ppl keep saying WvWvW is “zerg-y” and yet there were no more than 20 both sides.
Tell me about it. I’m Level 7 and have yet to see another human player on Metrica Province! I’ll give it one more try tonight and then I’m giving up. This is my first MMO and I was not expecting an online singleplayer game! I’ll probably never try another MMO again due to this bad experience. I mean, how come nobody else on the Blackgate server is leveling? Is everyone here max level already? No one is leveling an alt? No one just started playing this game recently but me?
I’m level 7 now and I’m sick of the empty worlds which is understandable as majority of the population is now doing endgame content. I want to get to 80 in under a week. How do I do this as quickly as possible?
Please don’t troll… I’m looking for serious/helpful answers.
This was my first MMO and I was so excited so I paid extra just so I could play during headstart. I managed to level my toon up to Level 6 without really knowing what to do. There were so many people during headstart so I was just following them and helping out. I believe I last played on Aug. 28th or 29th. A bunch of stuff happened IRL so I put GW2 on the backburner.
Fast-forward to a couple days ago when I played again and it was soooooooooo different! There was nobody around on the Asura starting level. I started on the West part of the map and ran all the way to the other end and did not see a single human player. Of course, the chat was completely silent too. It felt like a single-player game and I didn’t like it.
I tried continuing my quest line but I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t want to continue my storyline because I bought this game to play with people. I wanted to RvRvR because that was what I really wanted to do but I didn’t know how to get there! Can someone show me a link to a map or a YouTube vid showing how to get there? Can I participate even though I’m only Level 6? I’m thinking I could probably tag along with the zerg until I figure out what to do with the objectives and stuff and get a few more levels.
It’s so weird how some people think. In some alternate and weird reality they’re in, they believe that spamming “LFM” every 2 seconds somehow promotes social interactions.
Most recently, SWTOR didn’t have a LFG tool at launch because they believed it was a detriment to social interactions. Guess who has a LFG tool now? Same deal with Rift. No LFG tool when it first launch. Try to guess whether it has one now?
The point I’m trying to make is all of these AAA MMOs all released their games without LFG tool and believed for whatever reason that their game was better without it only to be mistaken a few months or years later.
