I don’t see more than 20. I watched the fight twice, stopped every time there was a good angle – but i don’t see more than 20.

Me neither, becouse arround 3 of them were dawned quite early and another 3 midfight, and if you can count 18-20, do the math :P

First of all – none of us died early – look at the banners. We had 2 thiefs aswell stealth ressing our downed. It’s not our fault that you can’t finish our downed properly and just ‘assume’ that would mean they are dead. Yes you downed alot but the fight went on so long that banners went off cooldown twice.

Strange, at start we had 3 or 4 spectators. 5 logged in during the gvg and qued up and maybe a few of those came to spectate but their ques popped near the end of the 2nd fight. ( and no- they didn’t join in before you get funny ideas ).

I watched the video on my mobile so it’s hard to tell but the fights seemed equal. Why doesn’t someone pop cmd tag on before each fight to check amount of players and take a screenshot to avoid issues like this?
Anyway I hope it’s not true because WBC are a nice and respectable guild.

Ofcourse we wouldn’t, as if zumos & solestic would even be in our guild if we pulled stupid kitten like that. From our gvg history it’s also obvious that we don’t care about win or lose and just want a good time and try to get better. We even refuse our mesmers to use Ghost pots so their clones & phantasms all look identical ( Fire liked to do this but we don’t mind ). Nor does any1 ‘release’ after they are fully dead and ofcourse we don’t ress fully dead.

Regardless of the %, it’s still a lot. There’s a lot of servers out there that consist mainly out of guilds.

Furthermore I’d like to point out that a non-official stream of a person in GvG gets what, 5x more viewers than an official SPVP stream?
This just to point out that you have a popular concept that you should be exploiting, rather then trying to destroy. But that’s just my 2 cents.

I don’t think the devs really understand how much of the people wanting ‘GvG’ or in Devon’s words: ‘’ Coordinated Combat ’’ are actually also their WvW populous. I think it’s safe to assume 60% of the WvW community consists out of guilds that are, or at some point will be, involved in GvGs.

We play open field battles because frankly, WvW meta of sieging is horribly boring.

As a reply to those people saying GvG doesn’t contribute to WvW, I point you to the first part of my post. If 60% of the WvW community consists out of guilds, of which the GvG community are mostly the ‘top dogs’ amongst guilds, then how is a guild not contributing to WvW if they are keeping that other guild ‘busy’ with a GvG?

A guild will almost ALWAYS go watch their group of players fight that other guild. Most top guilds have an average of 20-40 players on at EVERY night. Thus, that is 40 highly skilled steamrolling war machines NOT trying to take your keep so that the ‘WvW players (aka pugs)’ would come out and they could get a fight !

Do you have any idea what it means to have 40 people LESS trying to cap all your stuff ?
Not only that, half the time OTHER guilds from the 3(!!!) servers go to spectate resulting in an even SAFER border !!

IDK about you, but GvG is by far the best method of keeping people ‘out’ of your border, since they are preoccupied with something more fun, more skillful, more coordinated and generally more rewarding ( for the people having fun ) than standing on that ram, blasting water fields, under 5 superior ACs, that instant down you.

/singed, many great ideas here ! ( particularly like the one where you swap the buffs from outmanned and the orbs ).

I’d like to point out that even tho TEO and WBC came to GH, FURY left GH. So we didn’t get THAT much more people.

Where’s everyone ? WBC is running around UW border for few hours already and not even 1 decent fight :/

We’ll be doing what Anet should have done ages ago, balancing the lowest tier.

People can’t say we didn’t try to make WSR competitive, ‘cause we tried. And we tried hard, lol. Anyway, it’s not 100% certain yet, but it looks like we’re going to move.

WSR is not zergy at all. But this week it was yea.. Every1 wanted EXP for their alts so basically we did – Cap with all – wait till somthing is recapped- Recap it with all – etc etc.

WBC did everything in favor of getting their alts from 1 – 80 this week.
TEO probably did so aswell.

Ofcourse when you build 10 golems for the fun of it people will mass up with you regardless if ur running without tag. Hence why everything seemed like a zerg

^He means open field. Since we, in wbc, really dislike sieging of any kind. Nothing fun about building something and then said thing being arrow carted to death.

Fights = no siege, no keep hug

Still waiting for that 1 guild to give us a fighting chance, quite possibly making EU the most balanced T6-8

1) Whiteside Ridge – EU
2) EU Primetime is OK, mornings so and so, nightcap depends on day of the week.
3) Since we’re all together on Voice comms on our server it’s alright, there’s always a few tho. Sometimes amusing.
4) All round coverage and numbers.
→ We mostly fight outmanned ‘cause we have 3 organised guilds only. But you can check with our opponents, we fight in whatever numbers we come till the bitter end.
5) I wouldn’t know, I rarely ever play PvE
7) Yes, on Reset about 100 people in our Raidcall
8) Next to none, if there are Qs they are max 5 minutes most of the time. Except this week on reset was like 10min EB Q.

WE’ve been spawncamped for abt 3 weeks now, you will only see 2 guilds and a handfull of people from us

I dissaprove of this match up and the blob it brought to WSR border.

Man we had 27 people on raidcall, rest was on pug commander. You guys had 4 guilds together near the end of the evening.

The start of the evening was great fun, good fights, but after hills attempt it was just too much. All your guilds were clashing together on 1 spot.

Max we had today was 30 people
I’m not talking about just your guild alone, it was when you guys all ran together

We, speak for WBC that is, don’t mind not having many points our being outmanned. As long as there are ’’fair’’ open field fights that we can learn from, we’re happy.

GH likes to run with guild ( as do we ) resulting in a not so blobby environment, which is great. Ofcourse sometimes zergs find each other on an objective, but can hardly call that blobbing.

Keep up the good fights, I’m enjoying myself.

Well not worrying about points in your position is pretty easy innit ? :P

But we don’t pay particular attention to points every week, we go where the fight is. Much more enjoyable

The majority of WsR is happy to have GH as an opponent. They rarely blob up that’s why we as an outmanned server get so many chances at great fights.

Also – EB is almost never a reflection of the match-up. It’s in the borders the fun is being had.

Bit of overkill to go 15 golems with your coverage. Even worse to come gloat about it. Anyway, if your 15 golems make it to the keep unharmed, then it’s expected that you won’t face any resistance.

Was hoping for GH again, they seem to be the least blobby of all servers in the lower tiers ( the highest we faced being Fort Ranik ). Me and WBC hope for some great fights this week ! See you on the battlefield after some sleep :p

I dno about BT, didn’t have the chance to see them much this week. We were pretty busy holding of 2:1 & 3:1 ratios in our border most of the time.

Of the servers we meet most regularly ( Dz, RoF, GH & AS ) Dz blobs up the most. Or at least it seems like a blob ‘cause of sheer numbers on your server when you have this match up ( ie, lots of wvwnewbs joining in ). Not saying your guild blobs up, I didn’t really meet zumy this week. But the guilds in our borders loved to do that.

Naturally to counter a blob, you need a blob, vicious cycle – blob wars 2.
And same counts for us tbh, we wiped many many times > then our numbers this week.

We never start as a blob, but Dz always gave us little choice to stay as small groups. when there’s 100 germans in your bay, you can’t do much with your 20 people, so you made blobbing up inevitable ( not you per sé, but the players on your server ).

This scenario has been happening in T9 in EU for months now. This new matchup system should cause more rotation in and out of T9 than previously occurred. The real issue here is that Fissure of Woe and Vabbi are usually facing this sort of problem.

Np mate, just merge WSR, Vabbi, FoW & Blacktide. Just call us the Black & White Vabbi of Woe.

It makes more sense then just sense ! It makes all the sense that sense can make !

I’m another GH player but for any guild looking for a decent server to setup on and get away from the t1-t4 zergs you’d be hard pushed to find a better bunch than the WSR crowd.

Again much appreciated. It’s funny since earlier we were talking about how much more fun it was to fight GH. We learned a lot fighting you guys and at least you fought back hard ! Then again, the past week has been struck by many problems which caused WvW to be less of a fun experience.

Maybe with the new match up system we can meet on the battlefield once again.

I agree scootus. The few solo’ers that transfered are making it more fun, but we still are in need of that 1 guild to relieve some pressure off the other guilds’ shoulders
