Mac 64bit keyboard Issue

Yup this bug is super frustrating. When it occurs, all alphanumeric keys no longer work, but I can still use shift to dodge, and my arrow keys to move, in addition to the mouse.

I have yet to find any magical combination of steps that fix the issue without requiring me to completely close out the game and re-launch it, which causes me to lose progress on whatever I was doing, or try to complete stuff I’m in the middle of by clicking everything with my mouse…

Stuck on this as well. Does anyone know if you keep re-trying will it eventually work? I can’t interact with the cannons at all.

Starting a thief, is this still mostly valid? Not sure what’s changed in the game in the last year(s).

What are devs working on ?

That would also break the company policy of what we’re allowed to discuss in regards of what is in development

Change your company policy, stop using it as a crutch. It is the source of the consternation and frustration felt by the community. Change it, simple as that.

All NCSoft needs to do is take some of the design team from Wildstar (the people that design the dungeon and raid encounters — NOT the rest of the game) and sit them on ArenaNet for 6 months to teach them how to design challenging, unique PvE encounters. I am sure they will figure out how to make it work within the existing constructs of the GW2 game and vision.

I want the polish and aesthetics of GW2 but with some well-designed and challenging PvE small-group content.

Please launch an open-world PvP server

Title says it all. Please launch a server that allows open-world, free-roaming, always-on PvP for GW2. I would prefer a guild-based system (you can attack anyone that isn’t in your guild), but there are a variety of tried and true options from previous games (alliances based on races, arbitrary choices like Team Red, Team Blue, etc).

I’m not going to use this post to lay out all the possibilities of how this could be implemented, but look to other games (EQ,WoW, DAoC, etc.) that successfully implemented PvP servers.

Zone level scaling will mitigate some high level griefing in lower level areas. Leave the entire game pretty much exactly the way it is now except enable PvP for all characters outside of main cities. If you see someone that isn’t on your team/guild, you can attack them.

If you want to test it first, open a public test server with this ruleset and gauge the player feedback.

My personal opinion is this type of ruleset would be a welcome change to the community and may give the game a bit of excitement and change that it could benefit from going in to 2014.

Imagine one guild arriving early and laying claim to a world event boss, trying desperately to complete the event and get the rewards for themselves, while another guild (or alliances of guilds) tries to fight them off and take the rewards for themselves…One guild gets too powerful so other guilds form up and declare war, etc.

The possibilities are endless…

It's Expansion Time

I don’t care what you call it but Anet PLEASE add some permanent content to your game. It is a self-defeating design to spend weeks and months developing something to patch into the game only to remove it after a few weeks, at the same time ensuring players that are considering to come back will never come back due to everything they’ve missed and can no longer experience.

This doesn’t make your world ‘living’ it just makes your development paradigms ‘stupid’.

Agreed. They really need to allow late comers time to catch up. I told some friends that this release was particularly good content wise, but they can’t view the intro to it and have little context now.

I just started playing again after a very long hiatus, and i have no idea WTF is going on because all the content I missed has already been removed. I guess I should read wikipedia to find out all the content and story that they’ve already removed from the game, although it’s probably more convenient to just not try to get back into the game and uninstall.

so anet is getting lazy

I posted this in another thread but it is relevant here…

Most of their content updates, including their latest T3 gem store decisions, reek of a company that doesn’t have the resources (or funding) to pursue actual long-term content (such as an expansion), however is required by their publisher to post certain profits.

Therefore, the only choice they have is small, meaningless content updates and to make as many cash grabs in their gem store as possible. For example, the development investment to make cultural armor work for all races is extremely small compared to the profit they expect to make from the gem store. The living story is just an extension of this.

I kindof see that mentality driving everything they do lately. It doesn’t seem like we will ever see actual meaningful long-term design and development of new features and content produced for this game.

The whole idea of creating a Mesmer was stupid, here's why

, but the real issue is that they really ruin the fun for anyone playing against them. It’s fun for the person playing the mesmer, which is good, but I’m willing to bet the % of players that actually enjoy fighting a mesmer inversely is much, much, much lower.

They are just legitimately not fun to actually fight, if I get in a game with too many mesmers I am inclined to just leave and join another room because it basically makes the match frustrating or annoying instead of fun. It has nothing to do with whether the class is OP or not…the class is just not fun to fight with because of having to deal with all the clones…

As a ‘god mode’ mesmer myself (well, i feel that way whenever i fight any class whatsoever), I also had the same reaction that fighting other mesmers is the most frustrating, boring and and annoying thing in the game. Even as a mesmer I hate fighting my class.

Puzzle Griefing in WvWvW ruins the Game experience.

It’s a PvP zone … people go there to kill other players. I’m not really sure what you were expecting. Since you can get siege blueprints from the chest, it’s in their best interest to make sure you guys don’t finish it.

I would totally agree but if I remembered from a Arenanet video puzzles were not suppose to be required or play a part of any WvW as an advantage, the rewards were offered to be for your time doing the puzzle.

On top of that, Ectoplasms on Black Lion Trade are easily 18-22 silver on average for quick buy out. In that same amount of time I spent, 6+ hours, I could had farmed PvE for a good 7+ Ectos, giving me more than 7+ Blue Prints.

So again, with the rewards so minimal, why are 10-15 people protecting a puzzle game?

It just makes no sense.

I sincerely do not understand your argument. First you state that your time could be better spent farming in PvE — good, so go do that. Why are you doing a jumping puzzle if you admit your time is better spent elsewhere?

Secondly, you admit you spent 6 hours fighting there, but then get confused why anyone else would want to hang out there. Maybe because it is guaranteed small-scale PvP with a ‘king of the hill’ atmosphere and is actually kind of fun?

Yeah its griefing, but you don’t have to do the jumping puzzle. If you are getting camped there just walk away. Walk away and don’t get mad about it.
