As a higher skilled thief (at least I fancy myself as one.) I couldn’t help but notice the current meta vs a thief just consists of throwing down a stealth trap, open field, even if you outnumber the thief 5 to 1. In principal i’ve got no real issue with a stealth trap other than the 30 seconds of denying me my classes basic gameplay mechanic (imagine a trap that just denies necros deathshroud for no compelling reason). It seems there would be huge outrage if any other class had a trap that someone could lay 2 of with their current supply that essentially just amounts to a ‘lay trap & win’.
A few ideas to make this less of a bad deal for everyone is;
make stealth trap visible.
make reveal a real condition to be cleansed.
make the stealth trap a build site that requires 30 supply to complete, thereby allowing you to notice it being built & requiring coordination to deploy.
Dear Arenanet, We’ve been playing the hundred some hours of end-game content you provided us for thousands upon thousands of hours. We understand our builds better than you do, don’t treat us like children and take away our options because they might be ‘too confusing for us’
I usually don’t stay in one place longer than 5 days and I carry a desktop around with me, just look into a compact tower with a handle and a carrying case for a monitor
I’m an avid condition user (let the flames begin). This said I mostly play WvW, doing some PvE content every once in awhile. I love the control that conditions give you over an enemy and I love being able to retreat or focus another player with my conditions still ticking away on the first. I’m posting this thread to talk about the future of condition based builds in GW2.
I’m fine with conditions dealing less damage than power builds in the cases of X damage over Y seconds due to my love of the gameplay, I’m more concerned with the fact there is little to no mechanical support for condition builds
Currently I can use the following boons or conditions to increase direct damage:
Vulnerability
Quickness
Fury
+varied class mechanics such as warrior banners
In the future they’re adding resistance which will completely negate all negative condition effects while active, this boon will also be able to presumably be cast on allies as well.
Now I’m really hoping they don’t forget about us condition users and the fact that we’re well overdue for a boon or condition that helps our gameplay. I’m wondering what the community thinks is fair, since I see conditions and boons stacked in the favor of power builds with little or no reciprocity for conditions.
I have a few suggestions off the top of my head:
New Condition:
Deals X damage when cleansed prematurely. (prioritizes first on all condi cleanses)
New Condition:
Increases damage dealt by conditions by 2% (stacks intensity)
New Boon:
All conditions you inflict tick 50% faster on enemies.

Yeah i understand that you guys CANNOT separate the fights and the ranking system in your minds.
The fights, cool fun learn stuff ect, i played in t1 forever I know how to zerg vs. zerg. I paid 20 dollars to transfer to a stable tier 4 server, where we didn’t have to stack our entire server population on a dime in order to have a meaningful effect in WvW (not my cup of tea, hence why i left SoR.)
But by even going out and showing ‘spirit’ and earning ‘respect’ (intangible) we’re earning rank at an alarming pace, and putting ourselves in line to get into an even more mismatched shuffle next week.
I’m not against trying and fighting and playing for the battle, but I don’t get why people don’t realize a system where you jump into a mismatched shuffle, lose by a wide margin and still gain rank and then get placed against harder opponents because you ‘won-lost’ the last match? Really?
Also for those of you claiming we won by wide-margins every week, that was only due to our oceanic time zone, it was a tight match-up during NA hours, with pretty even battles and PPT.
you guys are still looking at things from the perspective of the fights and not the game ranking mechanic, separate the two in your mind and you’ll see how truly dumb it is.

I wouldn’t mind the NA servers being shuffled into the EU servers, but there are just a lot more NA servers to absorb the EU population, but that’s sidetracking the conversation from my point;
Trying really hard and still losing but by a narrower (but still mile-wide gap) is going to be rewarded with you being put into a more unbalanced match-up. I’m all for giving it my 100% and everything, but at the end of the day being a try-hard isn’t worth facing JQ as a t4 server.

What kind of motivation should I have for telling my guild to get into WvW this week?
due to the tier 2 servers we’re facing, any effort put out by us will raise our rating and give us more of a chance to potentially fight in tier 1 where we’d get our spit stuffed in even more? A constant losing cycle doesn’t seem like what we should be striving for.
If you really want to change the dynamics of WvW, dissolve the EU servers and shuffle them into NA, as WvW is a 24-hour game anyways. Don’t just put little league teams in the professionals.

i just want to reiterate that this isn’t the crash to desktop bug, as i’m not crashing out. It simply just resets to the default armor colour.
just spent six gold on some white dye, when attempted to dye certain parts of my armor (cultural tier 3 asura armor on a male.) when I exit the preview screen it auto resets to beige which I don’t even have unlocked. This is replicated when i exit game and then re-enter. Is this dye just incompatible with this armor set?
edit: the dye was just the rare ‘white dye’ and the armor is transmuted stats from AC token purchase p/t/v armor if that matters.
