This was super easy. We used the book that summons a flesh reaver in Queensdale swamp area, and let the NPC tank it. We stood a while back and put combo fields inbetween the mob and us (I’m a mesmer so in my case, I put domes on us and on the reaver) and spammed range. The reaver is a Veteran so lives just long enough to register good damage.

I hope they will be actually displayed when the housing comes out (if it ever comes out), along with any choices we made in our personal stories.

Just tell them to break kitten, and make snowman/catapults on the same spot they pick it up. By the 3rd round, there will be so many of them all toys will aggro to them. Only upgrade them if they need repairs. When Toxx comes out, everyone grab rifles and shoot him, he won’t get close to the donkeys because he will attack all the dozens and dozens of snowmen/catapults attacking him. By the 3rd round or so, you can heal your donkeys with the hay. (They will probably take damage at the start as you start breaking ton of stuff and building them on the same spot.)

A good strategy is to just build snowman and catapults all over the map. As soon as you pick up the material build it on the spot. This will distract the mobs as they spawn. Only a few, if any, will get through

I tried this myself, virtually in the same way.. but some I ran to the outer edge of the middle ring. Problem is that mobs will spawn out where you are gathering resources and then you’re history. Another tidbit is that mobs won’t ever spawn in some places where you find the resources so it’s a bit of a waste building them on the spot. Thus I’ll run them closer to where the action is, at the detriment of the team needing the help deflecting the enemies.

I still thinnk there are too few people playing this, at least not enough to have a fair fighting chance for most/all people to get the Toypocalypse Cancelled achieve.

Just would like to say that someone in our group said to do this, and when everyone started doing this, not one mob got through. All the dolyaks remained at full health, and whenever Toxx spawned, it would attack those first and we just killed it away from the dolyaks. Oh, and only upgrade when they get damaged. Btw, we used only catapults and snowmen, no ballistas or walls.

P.S.

Catapults are OP!

For me personally it’s the in-game cut scenes. They DO sound dull and flat like the others before me have stated. Also, as some have previously stated, the same generic voice for a noble human warrior and a commoner doesn’t make sense. And you really don’t need to hire more voice actors/actresses for it, they should have versatility since it is their craft and all, but also there are certain programs that can slightly alter voices and maybe add a bit of raspiness, etc.

P.S.

Personally when I heard about all the voice acting in the game, I actually thought we get to pick at character creation the voice of our character, much like other story-oriented RPGs out there.

Name one melee-centric class that doesn’t have at least a 900 ranged option or two or three.

The vista in Diessa is NOT activated by talking to the mad scientist. It is activated by clicking the catapult when he runs out of cows. He will order his assistant to get more, and it is then that you can click the catapult lever.

Now I don’t know if the catapult lever is broken too, but it was not when I did it.

Shooopa, I think the main thing he was saying was that there was the October 1 patch that the patch notes are about. After a few hours, Bill Freist posted that about finding the root cause of all the skill point NPC problems. After an hour or two of that posting, a message in-game was delivered saying a new build was coming and servers went down, it downloaded something small, and servers went back up again. Almost everyone assumed that was the magical fix for all the skill point problems.

Yeah, I was able to do it too. Conditions I think are, 1) The mad scientist must have not any cows with him, and he orders his assistant to get more, and 2) Click on the catapult, not the mad scientist.

If it helps, we did a defend the cows event from harpies right before he launched the cows and had his assistant get more.

So a new build was announced and implemented 5-10 minutes ago, and alot of players were hoping that its the “magical fix” for the skill points that you mentioned. Sadly, the hylek in Durotl Grounds revived, and stayed dead again after servers went back up.

No rewards or drops in Defend Shaemoor - entire.

Sept 25 patch notes:

“Enemies in tutorial areas will no long drop loot. Instead, an award of 72 copper has been added to the rewards for completing the tutorial. This is to dissuade players from lingering in tutorial instances to farm the creatures in them.”

Can we get a server reboot now please?

Well I’m sorry if I’m not well “informed”. But I went by the official blog in here:

According to the official blog, it states:

“However, as we mentioned in a previous blog post, your Guild Wars character names will not be reserved indefinitely. You must create a Guild Wars 2 character with the same name as your Guild Wars character during the Headstart Access period or on launch day. Shortly after launch, we’ll free up all the unclaimed names for new Guild Wars 2 players to use.”

Also, I read posts and forums from different websites on what you said:

“GW1 names are still reserved for linked GW2 accounts. They will remain reserved until further notice, most likely until all of the issues with launch are fixed (hacked accounts and such).”

Did not find anything that is an official word out from Anet though so I did not go by that.

It was my understanding that name reservations required you to make a character with that Guild Wars 1 name that you have within a specific number of days after launch.
