If we we ever want to have a healthy PvP, hotjoin needs to go and some kind of unranked que with hidden matchmaking has to take its place.

A simple and easy way to monetize it is to offer single elimination tournaments as I suggested here:

charge 25 gems to enter, and the winner receives 150

any variation on this simple theme is completely doable and prices and prizes can be adjusted as needed.

we alrdy had tournaments which u had to pay for to enter etc. this was the very first system and it was kitten and removed for a reason

and i rly dont get why u want moar options for anet to squeeze money off u while they never do/did/ will do anything for it ;D

played some warrior recently aswell and their problem is imo healing signet + celestial (while celestial is kinda a problem on its own aswell)
it’s crazy how tanky u are while dealing tons of condi damage + high burst

well the correct order is
first features and stuff and then comes the money
not the other way around

why should i spend money when they didn’t do anything at all for it in the last 2 years

just accept it this game isn’t going anywhere in pvp
play it as long you’re still having fun playing it and then move on

normal roll vs jump roll

I use this since launch by set Shift(set as 2nd jump)+V(roll) in a single button on my gaming mouse.
1.obvious benefit is now you can dodge over some barricade may be upper terrain.
2.help a lot when you have to jump across gap with aoe on it.
3. look cool

downside is…
you look kitten when you out of endurance.
it ll look like you try to normal jump out of the atk. XD

To carry play a d/d or s/f ele really well.

You could also play a very good hambow.

These two classes are the core of the meta right now for a reason.

There is no job those two can’t help with and they dominate at most things. Think about it.

Home guard, far assault, you name it and they are at least as 80 percent as effective as say a pure bunker guard. In assault jobs they are like 120% as effective as most.

Well, custom arenas are meant to substitute hotjoin, aren’t they? And custom arenas and spectator mode are already being tested internally. So, it shouldn’t take much longer for pvp to get revamped.

they said they are “testing” custom arenas like 3 months ago aswell
still they are not in the game

You have two separate tourny ques at this moment. One for 3 round and one for 1 round. In a blog post you guys said that they had separate matchmaking. Paid tournaments previously demonstrated that you guys have the ’’feature’’ in place to force someone to be 5 premade players to que in to the match. You also now have a ‘’join solo’’ button.

If you piece these pieces together you get:

1.Make one tournament que ‘’join solo’’ only, 1 round
2. Make the other que ‘’submit roster’’ with 5 only , 1 round

LE VOILA!
It’s okay, we can scrap the idea of duoq for now. Put that in your ’’soon’’ basket. You can do the same for the random map generator, just keep rotating maps manually the way you guys do every 2 days or something.

There. That is the solution that will allow solo players to play the game without getting stomped by teams.

So in this suggestion, people would only play as a team of 5 or by themselves. That would mean effectively disabling tournaments for people who want to play tournaments with a friend. Or two friends, or three friends, but don’t have a full team. I can’t imagine that would go over very well either.

Of course it isn’t ideal, you guys dropped the ball on that half a year ago when you decided to instead of having a proper and normal system you wanted to go all hipster on us with your paid tournaments. But at least this way people will be able to be COMPETITIVE in the game without needing a team.

I mean the ideal scenario would be this:

1. One unrated que, invisible elo at most where you could invite any number of people with the mmr you guys have, essentially the que you guys currently play with.
2.. one rated solo que, visible rating where you could max invite one person with only people matching here
3. one rated team que, team only. Preferably the team has their own rating based on the teams actual achievements.

You know, like a proper system is supposed to be.

But the system I suggested will bring back HUNDREDS of players. I’ve been here since beta and I’ve been in the competitive scene since release. If you knew all the players I knew that quit because they couldn’t tryhard one bit because they didn’t have a team then you would have INSTANTLY made this change. It’ll be good enough, it’ll show that you guys are taking the steps required to making this game good. It’ll also restore the faith of countless players that will actually see you guys admitting that you’ve done a mistake (because that’s exactly what you’ve done with both this soloq and paid tournies) and that you’re improving.

dunno why we have a 3 round tourny still
make that a solo-queue and everything is fine – well at least way better^^
when team and solo queue are seperated a ladder could finnaly get in
the only positive about not havin a ladder yet is that it would be useless with mixed queues

and yeah new map is pretty cool and very dynamic

being back to premade vs random is a huge step taken backwards

before the patch hit i at least expected it so that only 1 queue can be joined by a not full team, so we would have an unofficial solo-queue and a team-queue

so anet doesn’t want to split queues but we have 1 single round everybody wants and a 3-round tourney nobody wants
how hard is it to make both single round while one of them is team queue and the other a soloqueue

fix that and release ladder

i am so much confused..So are we allready have matchmaking system?And what are the criteria for matchmaking?Is there an invisible rating that everyone have??How can i know mine?Or rating will be added in the next patch?Will there be a separation between soloers and premades teams?will they get a different rating?So many questions and still i dont know what the heck is going on

matchmaking is implemented for few weeks alrdy

your rating is a hidden value based on your wins/loses in paids

for next patch u will have a seperate rating for single round and the 3-round tournies

well to prevent this we have matchmaking and it’s not said yet you can solo-queue in both queues afaik

15 points for neutralizing a node
5 points for finishing the capture

5 points awarded once you spend 30 seconds guarding a node (and another 5 points every 15 seconds)

that’s all we need.

a (rated) matchmaking system would be so much better, and solve many issues like unfair matches, motivation, long queue times
