Need uncontested balth in EU, please let me know here or in-game
Honestly so much useless people playing this game. Did this on 38 after 1 failed attempt yesterday. 2 dead bodies on button 2 protecting/kiting whatever suits you 1 opening. Not that hard to make a forum post about it
Damage traits are worthless on elem, 0/10/0/30/20 (other 10 is up to you) is most effective build for dungeons/fractals 40+ regardless of whatever you’ll read anywhere. Building pure glass cannon elem with traits is such a waste i cant even describe it with words.
Ugh what is up with this forum that everyone just wants to go Bunker build and anything else is worthless. Sure it might be good but go play the game the way you want and let others play the way they want. OP clearly asked for a full zerker build here.
You do realise you actually gain damage by speccing bunker and gearing full zerk rather than getting damage traits and getting bunker items, right? Also you loose on so much utility compared to water/arcana spec your usefulness drops twice as much from properly specced elems
Long story short. Sure, play whatever you want. Just don’t go on forums and tell people that it’s actually a good build, because it’s not. There’s enough bad elems out there without your help

You welcome. Feel free to ask anything in-game if there’s more questions
Dungeons is what i do the most with this build. Currently at fractals 40+ and a dungeon master aswell. It feels perfectly balanced and i rarely die at all.
Runes is really a personal choice, you can go divinity, you can go scholar, or even eagle. It’s up to you and wont make significant difference. I like divinity the most

If you plan on doing PvE with 0/10/0/30/30 Go full berserk. The survivability you get from that trait build is enough to do about anything in PvE
The highlighted accessory is the only thing that is not berserk on me, and necklace is Syzygy. The rest is berserk. Traits are 10/10/0/30/20. For my personal playstyle it’s perfect balance between not being utterly useless by dealing no damage and not dying on every trash pack. 30 in water also bring high support capabilities for your group.

WOW Random person posted random numbers WOW
All stats is a solid choice unless you want to buff specific aspect of your character(damage or survivability)
Building your DPS purely around burn is a waste. It’s a horrible damage condition. You’re better off focusing on bleeds in earth, or direct damage in air if you want to play scepter.
Don’t even want to start discussing your choice of traits, it’s just bad.

one and a half week since i got 80
Your ele looks great, what is she wearing?
Here’s a pic of my ele… with mismatched armor. She needs help!
Arah set mainly. Here’s the latest version
Just used necro starter helmet. Pic in sticky threat if interested
kinda glad i held off then
so it takes this wvw reward (accessories?) to do 50?You don’t even survive Maw agony on 48 with 35 AR.
Level 50 Maw agony hits for WAY higher than that (about 180k per tick), so no, you can’t do 50 until Anet nerf the damage.
They are more likely to implement ascended accessory’s than nerf the damage
Well here’s mine. Still wonder what headpiece to use not to cover my whole face and hair. Any suggestions?
Staff on elementalist is a terrible idea overall. Just re-roll warrior and farm for twilight if you’re into legendaries
Thank you for all of the posts.
I keep hearing that once you’ve “mastered” the class it can out perform all others. Is that true?
No, you just stop being terribly useless.
Your support doesn’t come from healing but from boons and auras you provide for your group, if you’re able to do that in berserk gear you will do more damage > be more useful for your group
Is it viable? Yes.
Do S/D or D/D outperform staff? Yes
Do those still outperform staff if i’m a noob who cant dodge? No.
Now if i am serious, Staff is only useful in WvW when you’re defending points from the walls
Note: My answers were aimed more at PvP. In PvE people use what they feel comfortable with. I myself play full berserker with solider biju(except for ascended rings which are also berserk) and swapping between S/D and D/D depending on situations. Builds are also variable from 30/20/0/10/10 to obvious 0/10/0/30/30 depending on what i am doing and what group composition we have. There is people who use staff but it is actually very weak at all roles and are good only for people who are not comfortable with dodging and just want to stay at max range and be atleast somewhat useful for the group(There is only few encounters where staff can outperform S/D or D/D)
auras are your skills on weapons: staff-earth-3, dagger(Main hand)-lightning-3, dagger(Off-hand)-water-4.
Cookie-cutter build right now is dagger/dagger 0/10/0/30/30 which allows you to share your auras and when traited they also provide fury and swiftness to you and your allies and also gives you huge survivability and mobility overall. Gear that most people use is P/V/T with runes for boon duration.
Too lazy to answer the rest. I’m sure there’s more people who are ready to answer all these
If you don’t want to group, don’t play an MMORPG. Simple.
That would be lovely if this game actually promoted grouping, which it does not. Majority of PVE is done solo, all of your personal story except the last mission is done solo. There really is no incentive to group up at all in this game except for dungeons and those have become repetitive activities.
No excuse. There is nothing preventing you from finishing the personal story except you. You don’t want to group, so it’s your fault that you can’t complete the story. When you buy a game in a genre called “Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game” then you should not be surprised or offended when you are required at some point to play with other people.
As people far more eloquent than myself have said in the past: QQ moar, l2p
No excuse? BS!
But I shouldn’t be surprised that your entire post is nothing more than opinion given that your definition of MMORPG is actually just an incorrect opinion as well. MMORGP relates to and is defined by the simultaneous number of players logged in and does is in no way defined by how they interact with each other. While it is true that some of the first MMOs were built to require players to group up if they wanted to progress through the content or in many cases even play the game, the fact is that the genre has evolved since those first MMOs. Now it is standard for players to solo when progressing when they level. In mature MMOs it might even be impossible for players to find groups to complete group content that was easy to do when the game was new, and this is a problem that MMO developers have actually recognized and in some cases solved by either converting previous group content in low level areas into solo content, removing that content or in some way making it easier for players to group up in order to complete that content.
Obviously some newer MMOs have been released with group content in low level areas but this content was horribly implemented and was uncompleteable a few months after the game was released because it was impossible to find enough people to group with in order to finish this content (Aion). This serves as reinforcement and not refutation of the assertion that content meant to be used by players while they are leveling should not require grouping because it will become uncompleteable as players move on and there isn’t a high enough density of players in that level range and area to form a group to complete that content with.
Since this quest is part of a long quest chain that players are expected to complete while leveling then it follows that a good developer would recognize the inability of player’s to find other player’s to do this quest with and therefore inability to complete this quest and would have properly decided not to make this quest a group quest. Furthermore a smart developer would not have made group events in any areas other than the areas for maximum level characters for the same reason.
It also follows that when a quest is meant to be part of a “personal story” then it would not only be soloable but only be soloable because anything else would be impersonal and counter to the idea of being your character’s story. If you see any other player character’s character instead of yours then the story immediately ceases to be a personal story. This is also why the personal story should not have revolved around Trahearne who was clearly the developer’s player character.
I just like how you assume that you’ve any idea what a smart developer would do.
Get over yourself.
Well it’s almost sad. So many sets and all useless or underperforming.
we dont have many eles on the europe servers and most of them are just runing badges that are waiting to get collected
So are you, couldn’t watch more than 2 mins.
I really like alot of their slot skills but for the most part really do not like their weapon skills. my favorite spells are the conjured weapons after trying the lava axe hah.
is a build based around summoned weapons and elemental pets doable?
Anything is possible in Guild Wars, read your traits adjust them accordingly to your needs there are no god builds here. Play what ever build you think of and what ever build you think is fun.
I wonder if Anet payed you to say this.
On topic, nothing is viable except for D/D bunker spec. If you want to deal high damage it’s time to reroll warrior.
Clarification: If you are specced into full dps zerk build you are just gimping your party and taking spot from a class that can actually do damage while bringing absolutely nothing in return

You run in LA and 80% of people you meet are human females. You suddenly start to realise something is wrong with design of other races. Yes there is some people who pick human because they want to relate. But most pick human because other races are not as cool… as in doesn’t look as good as humans.

You can clearly see original size of the phoenix in earlier versions of gw2, and now its just a tiny bird whom you can barely see. Whats up with that? Is it intended? I’d like to see bigger version back in the game :c
Here’s the trick. Pretend to be experienced in Arah and if you dont s u c k at this game none will notice. If you arn’t confident enough watch 1 or 2 videos on youtube. 1 and half week after 80 4/6 arah pieces. Started with no experience whatsoever.
im talking about static single target dps, for example dwayna. you just stand there and dps. what would do better?
I’m playing S/D and have cleared arah all paths and such and it seems like there really is no problem with that set but i’m curious if staff actually does more damage than S/D? I was too lazy to do the math myself so i hope you guys can help me out.
I’m 80 for not even a week and i’ve farmed 2 pieces of arah set already. Honestly i’m not getting what is hard about it besides dwayna. Can someone explain?
You arn’t supposed to take damage in first place and if you can’t survive without focus in your hand in standart dungeon there’s something wrong with your ability to play. Focus is deff useful on fights like lupi, but wearing it all the time means gimping your party.
This topic have been bothering me a lot. The game has great setting, which is great for casual players. More then that, setting is only thing that matters for them. I bet Anet as gamedevs know it very well. I’m just wondering what you guys think about gameplay? I don’t consider myself casual player and even though it’s nice to log in and see all that beauty of Tyria, gameplay is plain boring. In PvE you just press everything on cooldown and it feels like it does no impact whatsoever. I don’t want to bring in discussion how dynamic events worked out, is it boring or not, are dungeons good or not etc. The only thing i want to know is what you think about gameplay, do you find it fun, boring, or something else? Would like to hear Anet opinion on this aswell.
I’ll just add my voice to everything that has been said above.
Yes, they aren’t good at any specific thing, especially damage, which is why they fail in pvp and there are better classes for pve. Which is kinda my point, when we gonna get buffed so we aren’t useless compared to the other classes?
i think you don’t understand the concept of necromancer, just saying….or you play bad or you are using a bad spec. for me necro is a very good support for holding points or starting team fights because you make your ennemies already losing health even if the fight asn’t beggining. and you are hard to die if you use the elite and the dead shroud well. this in pvp
You must be bad if you think condition damage is good at all in pvp. It’s worthless. The only form of decent damage in structured pvp is with either dag or axe, I should know considering my pve necro has over 900 condition damage.
Stop talking out of yourkitten please.
If you think that condition damage is bad in PvP than, trust me, you’re doing it wrong.
I really hate clueless noobs. Noobs are the reason this class won’t ever get buffed if you can’t see the blindingly obvious problems with this class right now
The irony in this post is tookittenhigh
Honestly? Necro bad at PvP? I’m currently at 80% win-rate at tournaments. I have crazy condition pressure, as well as condition control, decent survivability and ways to interrupt my enemy’s. Necromancer is anything but bad in PvP.
Take a look at yourself before judging whole profession.
