Logged in a realized DH doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving. This clearly shows they are either all from out of the States or godless heathens with no sense of family (I lean toward the latter).
Also, DR and AR, glad to see you are having a good time with your families, celebrating and giving thanks. Good for you!
We have a lot of Brazilians.
…and we have a lot of degenerates.
I want to commend AR on their diligence in defending their keeps. It’s the best I’ve seen in bronze league.
Its a bit late, I know, but:
Assassin is a good dude, He out there to help the people of Dh, what he said is true.. [Fun] kinda isolates themselves from the rest of the community and trolls our other guilds and insults players that dont join them. Once the members decide to overthrow their leader [Fun] could actually be a “fun” guild to work with on the battlefield. lol
Sorry, but I wouldn’t trust an Abyss player anymore. Not after what I’ve heard about your GL (and how you guys just left us). It sounds more like you’re trying to pit our guilds against one another.
Quednau is ex-Abyss. When his guild transferred, Quednau chose to stay on DH and help rebuild. Most people realize this and appreciate him. He has earned my respect many times over. Grampa is also ex-Abyss. Are you going to dismiss Grampa also? Of course not.
He might want to change his forum sig then
Thats what I was basing it off of. Don’t know which commander (if any) he is in game.
Gotcha. I see where the misunderstanding came from.
And all of that arguing(2 pages!!!)spawned from a little post from a different server. Good stuff.
As a side note: I hope you all can resolve your issues. It is much more fun arguing with you than reading your silliness.
It is silly, isn’kitten

idk i feel like whoever chased off ABYS and SE and made them want to leave are still on DH and history seems to be starting to repeat itself.
In my experience “peacekeeping” online is extremely difficult when people’s egos are inflated x 1,000 behind the safety of teh interwebs.
whoever got upset/angry first is at fault here, no matter the situation.
Don’t know about SE, but Abyss didn’t leave for any one particular reason. It certainly wasn’t because another guild drove them off. For its size, Abyss had minimal issues with other DH guilds.
lol DH “wait until they go to sleep” was the only way you were going to get your hills back.
you’re lucky you outnumber us overnight or we’d hold it all week.
You’re right, when you outnumber us during the day it’s really hard for us to take back a fully upgraded keep that you’ve sieged to the max. Btw, you’re missing a few WP’s
.
at least I get to wipe your zergs during the day.
you’re just banging on empty doors hope that’s fun :/
That’s not what it’s like at night lol. I play at night 1/2 of the time, and each server can field at least one decent sized zerg, as well as numerous roamers/roaming groups. It’s not always just player Vs. door lol.
I know it sucks to lose at any particular time. Can’t really blame us for having better coverage though :/.
no blame if you see my other post I’m curious where the night crew came from because when we faced you 3x in a row in pre-season your night/morning crew was virtually non-existent.
Darkhaven is a very high population server. That’s where they came from.
I’ll admit, I’ve been spending a lot of time on Fergistan. Something about the way the natives run away at the sight of you makes you feel like a boss. DH has been so nice and polite last week, I like them. Most of their roamers don’t runaway scared like that other server we’re against. Cheers, DH.
lol if you’re looking for FC roamers our own BL isn’t where you’ll usually find them.
But that’s the place to go if you’re looking for DH roamers.
we FC are not going to get 3rd place because if we beat DH next week we’ll be tied, but then we face HOD twice in a row while DH gets AR/DR so they’ll get another 1st place and we will not.
Yup. DH has 3rd locked up. Hell, DH could lose to you and still have a shot at second place.
Biggest point spread in Bronze: 58k
Smallest point spread in Gold and Silver: 117k
This has been fairly typical every week of league play. When leagues are over and we resume regular play, we should continue to have very competitive matches when IoJ and NSP get reintroduced. DH is in a sweet spot for competitiveness. I love it.
You do realize that there is 4 maps? You also realize that a lot of people get bored on DH map since frankly there isnt much to do. When we go there you guys leave your map. Yesterday afternoon during one of our biggest downtimes we literally had the Brazilians running away from us by just walking in their direction.
Seeing as this was 3am est. With that many omegas and not on our BL. The amount of people who were on that map probably could not afford to switch maps to ask for help. And second you would have all ready been on inner (probably going to the lords) Before a response could occur.
What was so important on those 3 other maps? It certainly wasn’t DH, because nearly the entirety of our server was a bay. It couldn’t have been AR, because they are AR. It must have been those pesky doors that needed attacking.
If you had someone watching the outer gates, you could have stopped us. We weren’t spotted until we started hitting inner. By then it was probably too late. Look, losing T3 keeps that could have been defended happens to DH all the time. We just point the finger at ourselves and move on.
Funny, I would have believed you if you had just said you stopped caring about bay and that you wanted to open it up for dragonite farming. But we’re passed that point now.
15-20 omega’s I hear at 3 am est. Well played…I guess.
Good thing you didn’t have enough people to scout and defend a fully upgraded keep.
Thank you DH. Thank you Grampa. Thank you to the veterans who put in long hours. And thank you to the new players who answered the call!
Thank you FC and GoM for giving us the best match we’ve ever had.
Good matchup so far
Unfortunely i belive the winner is already decided, and so it begins the fight for 2nd.
Don’t think it’ll be a fight in so much that it’ll be Sorrow’s Furnace to decide who will finish second. SF merely needs to defend but whats the fun in that, right? ET will obviously focus on DH and DH will have to focus on ET leaving SF.
Looking at the map…SF seems to have already decided. (SF owns two keeps in DHBL while they own 0 of ET’s.)
Just saying….
I detest playing for 2nd. Under the old glicko system, you just had to score as many points as you can. But under league rules, we are given no other choice than to play for 2nd once 1st is out of reach. Bleh.
FC doesn’t need luck to put DH in 3rd place. Look at the score and look at this pic. We’ll do this to you every morning like we have the past couple of mornings.
GUNZ is the guild we seen cheating the most. We could try to post proof, but we’d rather just hit you in the score.
Karma isn’t enough to keep your train going? You need more motivation for your players? You forgot to mention that this is the third week straight that we have been fighting but the first mention of GUNZ cheating.
But as long as you do it while DH is asleep or at work, I guess we won’t notice.
How to rebuild your server after a mass exodus:
1) Get a lot of recruits.
2) Train them.
3) …
4) Profit!
Don’t hate on DH for already being on step 2 while you guys struggle with step 1.
The rewards are not going to be worth the transfer cost so anyone who does that is a dumb kitten .
The reward is not getting roflstomped for an entire season.
Gratz, Anet. I didn’t think you could install a matchup system worse than the one we have now, but you proved me wrong.
Also, good job getting gems, since thousands will surely transfer to the rank 13 server on the first day of league play.
For WvW zerg fights, I run 0/15/10/15/30 with boon duration runes.
Thank you YB and BP for the fantastic week. We expected this week to be tough and you guys delivered. Looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
It’s easy and advantageous to manipulate the system. In the lower half of tiers, sometimes a server is being held together by just one guild. If that guild decides to quit WvW, you lose the fairweathers and the result is devastating. For example,
SF lost KING and dropped two tiers.
AR lost ALS and is in the process of dropping two tiers.
With ABYS, DH is T5. Without ABYS, DH is T7.
To manipulate the system, you want to win by as few points as possible in matches that you should easily win. In matches that you should lose, you completely tank it so you lose as much rating as possible. By doing this, you can keep your rating artificially lower than its true value, giving you more easy matchups.
I bet you can have a server winning percentage of 70-80% if you did this.
Request: Rains of Castamere
Naussica fee transferred to SF, in the middle of the night she packed her stuff and up and left a few weeks back. We are saddened that she moved. But I’ve always said play for your own fun , not for the fun of others. So good for her.
We are happy to have her, as we were you when you moonlighted in CoSA that one time!
:P
In all seriousness I love seeing the XOXO people, as they tend to duel a bit more than the ROFLstomping that gets attempted by the other guild roamer groups.
Sad there was no fight night, or at least there was none discussed on forums, I checked a few spots but figure I either missed it or it didn’t happen.
If you’re ever outnumbered by XOXO, quickly /bow to a random one and they’ll give you a 1v1. Now you’re no longer outnumbered!
This is proven strategy thumbs up
Yah, but I’d rather die quickly to a 3 on 1 and blame numbers than die slowly to a superior player and feel bad about myself.
You’re supposed to be playing for rating although no where in game does it show you your server’s rating or how much you are gaining or losing.
So sometimes when you think you’re winning, you’re actually losing and when you think you’re losing, you’re actually winning.
Make sense? It really doesn’t.
Instead of making the ratings more accurate, the new system has distorted the ratings even more.
IoJ is going to finish 3rd this week. DH is going to finish 1st this week. IoJ has lost to DH the last ten out of ten times, yet IoJ will end up with a higher rating after this week’s matches.
It is conceivable, given the current system, that IoJ will face tougher and tougher opponents, finishing 3rd each time, yet gain points. Meanwhile DH will face easier and easier opponents each time and bleed points.
The system is broken in so many ways that you will need to completely revamp the entire system or lose many players over boring blowouts.
When you attack a POS in Eve, it gets put into reinforced and the defender knows exactly when they need to be there to defend more than a day in advance.
Not even close to comparable to WvW in GW2.
That’s when you have a thousand players show up and crash the node.
It’s not that it’s the worst idea ever, just parts of it don’t make sense at all.
Looking at http://mos.millenium.org/na/ right now, Yaks is ahead by 10-12k, yet we’re losing 3 points in evolution, CD is almost 12K down and they’re UP 60 points in evolution….how the hell are we winning yet still losing, and how is CD losing and yet still gaining so much?
FA and TC have dropped 19-23 points, while SoS has gone up almost 48, and they’re getting hammered. DB is up almost 30, Mag is down almost 69, and SBI is up almost 47, and again SBI is getting hammered.
[…]
Maybe math has changed in the last 3 decades since I was in school, but the numbers don’t make sense at all. It looks like teams that are getting beaten are actually moving up, teams that are winning are moving down and you’re going to end up with T1 servers fighting T5 servers because they’re being brought into parity range through this system. I’m not saying these servers are bad or other servers are better, sometimes it’s a matter of population and coverage, but if the intent is to make matches like this happen more frequently I don’t see how it will benefit WvW overall.
Your rating doesn’t change based on whether you win or lose, it changes based on whether you beat expectations or not. Based on the difference between your rating and your opponent’s rating, Glicko-2 calculates an ‘E’ value, which is the score you are expected to get against that opponent. Your actual score (designated ‘s’) is compared to that — if s is lower than E you will lose rating points (even if you’re still winning the match), and if s is higher than E you will gain rating points (even if you’re losing the match).
If you want to calculate exactly how many points you need in order to avoid losing rating points, you need to first calculate E. The procedure to do this is described here:
http://www.glicko.net/glicko/glicko2.pdfThe formula to calculate s has been posted by ArenaNet in the past, and it works out to:
s = ( sin((x/(x+y)-0.5)*pi) + 1 ) / 2, where x is your in-game score and y is your opponent’s in-game score.Setting s = E, and solving for x, yields:
x = y * (0.5 + arcsin(2*E-1)/pi) / (0.5 – arcsin(2*E-1)/pi)
In other words, your score must be [(0.5 + arcsin(2*E-1)/pi) / (0.5 – arcsin(2*E-1)/pi)] times as high as your opponent’s score in order to avoid losing rating points.
You have to do this calculation separately (including the calculation of E) for each of your two opponents.

This math is completely sound, but what it doesn’t take into account is that the Glicko system depends on a few “givens” that are not happening in this situation.
1. New opponents with the base score entering the system.
2. As with ratings in sports like baseball, there is a fixed team, or at most, very little inter-match player movement. (Free server transfers anybody?)
3. An adequate fall off for past scores influence on the current match ups, accounting for the server movement discussed above.
4. A larger population of opponents, the Glicko system gets more accurate with a larger population which is necessary for the randomized matches.
5. The stagnation from the above limited opponent pool leads to increases in players on the winning teams and decreases on the losing teams, which even if they stayed static as they were during the initial matching, would further depress the losers cumulative score.
6. An actual fixed team size or reasonable opponent pool. When you are outmanned to the extent some servers are, there is no amount of talent, capability or coordination to will make up for superior numbers, especially with the “snowball” effects of systems like WxP.
You play chess against one person, start with the same number of pieces and the winners don’t get extra pawns.
I am all in favor of scaling the outmanned buff, because right now, it just looks like a dinner bell for Golem rushes.
You forgot one more,
Glicko also expects all three servers to fight each other equally. But there are times when two servers will join in a loose alliance against the third, producing distorted results in ratings.
To those comparing to world event daily chests, you don’t get a guaranteed 20s from those. So weigh it up: a guaranteed rare + less than a silver; vs a chance at a rare + 20s (which is the cost of a rare) + some badges + a siege blueprint (worth from 6s to 1g). We’re getting a a hell of a lot more from these chests than from world events.
QFT. Though I would like to see more prints since they nerfed the JP to once per day account wide.
Play in T1? Thieves are almost useless.
Play in T8? Thieves are OP.
Thieves will probably get buffed because ANET doesn’t care about T8 and balances with only T1 in mind.
Add me to the list of Darkhavenites to recommend IoJ.
Lol idk what you are laughing at DH considering you got downed in this fight that was 6v20 something. Anyways was a fun fight thanks for the DH that didn’t need to spam laugh emotes even though it kinda made me happy knowing we made him mad
I believe one person on DH is responsible for 90% of the laughing emotes.
But what can you do….
Nice video Oozo. No outmanned buff though.
On DH borderlands, we usually have about 10 people mulling about citadel doing nothing. So numbers had to have been a lot closer to even than anyone has suggested.
As for being farmed, yeah, that’s what happens when one side is full of regulars on voice chat while the other side is full of pugs without a commander.
I will say this, dark haven has some amazing players. And I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the future.
Where are these players? Or did you mean to say amazing zergs. Quite frankly I have yet to see a group smaller than 15 do anything more than cap sentries and get wiped by 5 people. I have literally had better fights from ioj up level roamers then anything I’ve seen from dark haven.. Your weekday force must really suck cause you guys are very reminiscent of the mass zerging/pvdooring that SBI did, yet you are in T6.
Also the hacking that happened at NW tower in drbl tonight by 3-4 DH was pretty sad.. As if pvdooring wasn’t boring enough.
I was there.
Several DH were being sucked inside the tower unwittingly. Some where able to run out, but others died inside where we could not rez them. If we were hacking, we would have sent in the mesmer first, no? If the game didn’t bug out, do you deny that we would have easily taken the tower? But as it was bugging out, we were losing numbers and potentially losing our ability to take the tower.
We honestly thought it was you guys who were the cause of this. Our side was really confused and upset, especially those who died.

My friend has over 300 hours of game play and still doesn’t understand how auto-attack works even after I tried to explain it to him. He still uses 5-slot bags and has trait points to spend.
You can’t imagine how much butt-clenching I do when I watch him play.
No. Subscriptions have gone the way of the dinosaurs. I haven’t paid a game subscription since SWG.
Had ANet charged a subscription fee, they would not have gotten my $80.
