0% lowest to 99% after 99% 1000-999-998-997-996-995-994-993-992-991-990-989-was actually going to type till 1. I am far to lazy for that.

that would imply a whole hell of a lot more players than I imagine to be playing pvp

I get that but that is a minor addition to ls. It hits very hard like 4-5k depending on the variables. Its tandem with inf strike/evade and the spammability of those 2 skills can devastate you in melee range which is of course where you play as d/d. I guess i am mostly interested if other eles have problems with ls and how do you play against it

I am just curious what you guys think of larcenous strike. Playing a d/d celestial in pvp i have been kittened up by this skill a lot lately. Do you feel its too strong or just a fair skill? I ask in general but mostly regarding a d/d ele.

hahaha you guys that deride the ranger class seriously crack me up sometimes. of course you CAN sit there and spam autoattack but ONLY with shortbow. i agree beastmaster amd spirit ranger are way too powerful for the effort taken. not arguing that. but come on, almost every class can be super effective doing little more than spamming. that is just one of the core problems of the game itself. When i play ranger i literally never play the two meta builds. well amost never. power builds i would say are one of the harder builds to play on any class. at least well. it actually requires pretty deft play to be effective. i also think most rangers would love more control of their pet. personally i dont like playing against or with ai at least in the state it is in. anyway besides the couple meta builds ranger can be as bard as any other class. i know everyone loves to feel that they play the most difficult and complex class which allows them to reinforce that they are skilled players. i know i can be guilty of this and in more areas than jist video games. but the constant belittling of certain classes is just useless

Dont worry. Someone who is good will come up with a new ranger build then all you baddies can jump on the bandwagon. Hang tight.

^ haha, awesome comment.

^haha, awesom…oh wait, nevermind.
But honestly can someone explain why engineer’s standing point with, imo what are very effective turrets, endure so much less rage than ranger and their spirits? I do not play engineer so i’m asking this without sarcasm.

Optimize this build

I’ve been using this build in pvp lately and I decided to share it because it is both fun and effective. At least for me. But i’d like some input on how to improve it or if it should just be hung up in the closet. I’ll link what I’ve been running at the bottom but note that I am not settled on armor runes or weapon sigils.

So for a quick rundown of the build:

It uses longbow + sword/torch. Carrion amulet with Berserker jewel.
20 Marksmanship (III) (X)
20 skirmishing (I) (x)
30 wilderness survival (III) (VII) (XI) Utility Skills (SotH) (LR) (Sstone)

Your gameplay will mostly be single target damage in a support role. Obviously you want to take advantage of the longbow’s reach until the fight hits melee. Condition output is very strong (even with longbow) and the damage is nothing to scoff at with jaguar and raven. Nor the ranger’s for that matter. You also have 2 glorious combo fields along with a leap finisher and several projectiles. A perfect scenario would be bonfire+swap to lbow+sharpstone+rapid fire. Then your pet attacks. I love being able to cause conditions like bleed and burn on foes with a longbow. By this point your opponent’s health is well under 50% and sharpstone pops again. 3 & 4 on LB are just clutch when used properly. They can save your life man. But in general this build has hybrid damage of cond/pow with more than enough survivability though it is not all passive. kitten passive. Some thoughts/suggestions would be awesome and even more so if you’ve had the chance to use it some in game.

hotjoin and the newcomer

in PvP

This game really needs to rethink hotjoin. I just don’t really understand its merit. I mean i get that if you only have a few minutes and want to jump in and fool around or try out some builds, this is the place to do it. Don’t misunderstand me, I play hotjoin and it can be fun, but usually it’s not. I’m sure this topic has been beaten into the ground but imo i think it deserves more attention, mostly because of the horror show it has become and how damaging it can be for newcomers to pvp. An hj match are often one sided and there is always the iconic amalgamation of players making effect rich abstract art. There are those that enjoy this zergplay, and those who mostly roam. when one or the other meets, the victor is never the soloist. I still dont get how either side enjoys this experience; a gang of 3 or 4 knocking around one, or the one getting knocked around by 3 or 4. Newcomers especially fall victim to these groups and more so lately groups who roam together are usually the more experienced players. I am always trying to get my friends who mostly do pve to pvp with me and I can say for sure that they get turned off quick when one of these zergs face plants them the whole time at spawn. I explain to them how tpvp is a totally different game but that doesnt erase their first impression. I guess I made this post because I think the game is great but the pvp scene is is so small already and failing to attract new players and hotjoin imo hurts more than it helps. I could be TOTALLY wrong but the already diminished population seems way more concerned about some perfectly, (and unobtainable) balanced meta while potential pvpers are lost before they can even have these interests. maybe the popularity of the game and player growth doesnt matter to the top players idk, but hotjoin needs totally revamped or replaced with a more structured format that incentivizes players to learn and care about strategy and teamwork. that is where the depth comes into this game. SMITE for example has guides and tutorial modes that acquaint you with how the game is to be played as a member of a team. hotjoin does the complete opposite and I am pretty sure new players dont’t enjoy getting castrated by a five man zerg . well thats the long and short of it. comment if you like.

Beastmaster is still our strongest build I agree, even after the reduction to pet damage. A lot of people including myself don’t enjoy the play style though and ^5 25 30 10 0
i’ve been using is really fast paced and fun to play. It allows you to harass enemy players from range and melee both.

I took stone signet just to get a little more toughness as I wasn’t in desperate need of any of our other utilities but I would say signet of hunt would work well or even protect me.

Ok so the title is hyperbole but this build, pvp exclusive, is reeeally tough to restrain. The survival is in the evasion which is one of our greatest assets outside our pets. I am far from atop notch player but this setup really makes a difference in team fights and is truly strong 1v1 as well. The player maneuverability along with a pet is very difficult for any class to bring down. You have solid persistent damage and invaluable CC from your 2 canines. I haven’t struggled against a single class with this build and I am very confident that anyone can get the same success out of it as I have. Very different from the tried and true beastmaster but imho just as effective in tpvp. I hope some of you will try it out in game and let me know what you think.
