Nice vid, but I don’t think I could seriously run this over s/d. The fact that you have to tank cleave damage in order to get your main dps off is a no no with me. You did a nice job but still went into down state a lot from cleave.

I wouldn’t mind trying out for thief.

Lol, I was the only one who knew the start time (hence the late refuge). That was not a gvg either, sorry. Two of the “MU” were recruited from the stands and the other just joined. If you’d like a proper gvg, get 15 people and we’ll gladly oblige. We’ll even record it and post in on the forums for you.

I know that you already know this but that VLK thief (Halt) was destroying your light classes during the first three fights. He spiked 4 people in one fight. Either take the time to focus that thief, run your own thief or “roamer” build/class to counter theirs, and/or run more banners. I’ve noticed in general that a lot of guilds don’t protect their light armor class.

Placing the rest of the week aside. I would like to propose a giant 3-way fight in OS tonight, during prime time. This would consist of HoD-KN-FC. I think this would be a great way to end the season in a fun interesting way. Since we know the main reason anyone WvWs is for the bags and for the fights. Everything else, well we don’t care.

So I would like to suggest from 5pm Server time (8Pm Eastern) till whenever we gather as much people in OS as we can and just got at it. I would like in propose one rule. 1) No guild groups. This meaning MU / VLK / Deth / BC / WZ / EDGE will not and should not be balled up in a 20+man group doing what you guys normally do. Being dead / Wiping groups / Sieging / whatever. This was it would add more of a sense of craziness and prevent anyone server from dominating to much.

Feel free to add on thoughts or suggestions.

On a side note due to me being able to post only once every hour. I will not be doing a Match Recap. Instead I will be working on a Bronze League Recap. Feel free to message me anything that you feel I should mention in this recap. (Server accomplishments / Guilds / Players).

I’d rather set up a “rodeo” match where I go 1v5 and the goal is to see how long I stay alive. That’s what my build is designed to do (without running away). Sound fun?

Fun for you, yes. There is no incentive for others to be on the 5 man team because if they win they can’t brag and if you lose you have not only a great excuse but if you down one of them you also get to brag. I really don’t want to put a comma in that sentence.

IMO, it’s fine to learn from other player’s youtube videos and incorporate their play-style in your own. The issue is when you think you’re God’s gift to guild wars because you beat others in 1v1s using a standard strong build. If you win a duel, win with grace (unless it’s against Y Not or Krabs THOSE SCRUBS NEED TO BE TAUGHT A LESSON).

Obviously, next question.

The cut at switchback was not a wipe. Gornok edited out us moving from switchback to the jumping puzzle then to that fight at NW camp where the video picks up.

Just a thought on “Cheese” builds I had after talking to Narsil at fight club last night, the only cheese builds are those that use perplexity. Everything else can be countered. Cheese is synonymous with Cheap not viable or overpowered. I’ve been misusing it and I feel bad telling d/p thieves and condimancers that they are cheesy when they’re really just “easy to play” and OP, respectively.

A quick example of “Cheese” might be a p/p thief who uses perplexity ruins, thieves guild, and a thief trap in a duel. Just a random example That said, that player can play the game however they want and I bet it’s a really fun build to run.

Woot another fight night! We’re going to have one tomorrow too in Obby Sanctum. To DETH, I have yet to see a single DETH tag behind windmill and we’ve been there every day of this match up.

Narsil, you did run into a 4 man roam squad. I cried on the upleveled guardian as a joke. None of us has perma stealth or even d/p so I don’t know where you’re getting that. I ran from the two condi thieves on top of ruins because I was pretty sure that the one with quip was cheesing with perplexity ruins but I could be wrong. Out of all of you, only you and the charr thief seemed skillful. Let’s keep the fights fun and the qqing off of the forums. Lastly, next time you “wipe our four man,” please take a picture.

Edit: To the glorious “ex-tier 1” member who said FC was fighting Tier 1 blobs this matchup, No. Just no.

Edit 2: Yarr is not staying on HoD. According to mushroom head, they transferred here to fight each other. They definitely have some talented duelists.

D/P is the better set, but it’s not nearly as exciting to watch a d/p thief win outnumbereds as it is to see a d/d thief do it. I know this will foment anger, but d/d requires more skill to win in every situation. Pressing 5 and heartseekering out of it is the easiest of easy modes…it’s fun as hell, but it’s easy. I know everyone will say “OMG Headshot is supreme king!,” but, again, no. If you want to run the easiest weapon set go for it, but I have way more respect for skillful d/d thieves because not everyone and their mother can do it.

p.s. I run p/d build so I’m neutralish

I personally don’t see anything wrong with granting extra supply if you have the supply master/guild buff. It rewards players for investing time in WvW and being part of a good guild.

Really great question. I think I’m just going to not answer that great question. I understand the underlying argument, because not only has everyone in this thread made the same argument so far but I also foresaw such an obvious argument being offered in response to this thread. I mean it’s a stellar argument and I hope more people make it. Clearly the question is not could people complain a little less, but, actually, would you rather not have complaints at all? I’m no Albert Einstein, but I can envision a WvW discussion forum that is active while not being completely full of individuals creating threads to voice their personal complaints. Of course that is but a fool’s dream, because, alas, a forum can only be filled with complaints or dead. Woe is me.

My server is TC. I transferred to HoD after season started.

Edit: I don’t think there is any danger of there being too few posts. Maybe there should just be categorical threads for people to qq in as opposed to letting everyone start their own thread.

Never in my life have I seen so much qqing. You guys would find something to complain about no matter what you’re doing. I hope Anet recognizes that a huge portion of its player base is a bunch of whiny kids and doesn’t take all the criticism to heart. While some of it is helpful, so much of your crying is ridiculous. You don’t need to make your own thread every time a warrior, thief, necro, or mesmer rolls you in WvW. You don’t need to make 18 threads blasting season 1. We get it.

Keep up the great work Anet. You can’t get a hit if you never step up to the plate. Thank you for fostering an environment where the players can interact with the developers. I’m sorry you have to read people’s unfounded complaints everyday.
