Well, there are many reasons. First, he’s a well-known character in history and was a hero, of course people would know him and about what happened 250 years ago, right? You can find real life comparisons here. But even more, he’s still alive and the last “known” dwarf on the surface, that in itself can explain why your character heard of him. After all, history is a part of education.
Then, he’s in the Priory, he wrote a few books you can find there.
The story assumes you did everything in the timeline up to where you are, even the dungeons. Well, Ogden is the one opening the Arah explorable mode, so you already met him in the story, even though you may have not done the story yourself (like people calling you commander when you can perfectly jump into season 2, hoT, etc without having done the personal story, and thus never founding the pact).
There are many things your character knows that are simply common knowledge in the world of Tyria, but it may not always be common knowledge to the players (Importants characters, places, events, or even mordremoth’s name (hint: you’re a comander, you just got intel off-screen)), but Ogden is not one of those.
What I want to know why that heavy armored human female is wielding fire magic like an ele with a staff?
She’s a pristress of Balthazar. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Priestess_of_Balthazar
She just upgraded her staff to an inquest one, strangely. Or it could be just a random npc.
So, I’ll just ask: why do you want Legendary armor? Like, seriously, why? The looks? The prestige? The ability to swap stats?
Legendary is the same as ascended. Differences are skins and the swap method.
If you don’t have the time, then you can’t do it. Because it’s a reward for high-skilled players who invest their time in raids. Not every casual should run around in leg armor, that would be horrible.
So either find a good guild, train, or give up. It’s as simple as that.
(oh ye, and most casual players don’t have a leg weapon, you’re not a super casual, you’re in the average, like it or not)
As far as the story is concerned, yes it feels rushed, but there is some context for it: we’re in the middle of a war, no time to slack off. In Rata Novus, learning that the dragon does INDEED have a weakness when the characters weren’t even sure is a good thing story-wise.
We fight Mordy in his mind, and he’s battling at the same time against the Pact in the real world (see Dragon’s Stand meta), so of course he can’t focus on 2 things and be fully in capacity.
The “real” Modremoth fight is the Dragon’s Stand meta, if you want a feeling of huge battle.
There is an epilogue for HoT, you’ll receive a letter on your toon.
The story in Prophecies is laughable most of the time, sorry. Your character does nothing on his own, always been told orders by someone, never complaining. You’d have told me Nightfall, okay, but Prophecies doesn’t have character development, your char is a vegetable that smashes things, literally. Why did we trust the guy that looked very unlikely to be our ally? I mean sure we had the same goal, but we were just tools. But that’s not the topic.
Also, you’re 2 years late to the party. And season 3 is by far the most impressive content they’ve created.

You have to go to the hero point in the metal forest and interact with it for all the cristals. Don’t forget to have them in your inventory (it says what type of cristal you have to bring in the collection window)
You don’t nedd Jade Maw lens for this part, Jade Maw is just used to capture the lights of different creatures
After the fight, like in Glint’s Lair in Echoes of the Past, there is a blue mote. By talking to it, you can restart the fight, simple as that. Now I know some motes are for the “challenge mode”, but this one makes the dragon respawn, without having to go through the cutscenes.
That_Shaman data-mined new hairstyles for all the races a while ago, we just don’t know when they’ll be dropped in the game.
Bugs forum suggests using a HoM portal stone as well
Well, maybe it can fix stuff for some people, but it didn’t do any good for me. I would still suggest logging back on gw1 and going to HoM for those with the same issue.
Okay, I figured how to “earn” my points back. I had to log on gw1, set the HoM on character only, then back on account-based, quit the instance, verify gw2, and repeat one time. That’s quite funny for a fixing x)
relogging doesn’t help at all, even with a 1 hour gap, I just send a ticket to the support.
Did you do a full relog (close to desktop and restart) and try logging onto a different character? Because this seriously always fixes the issue for people.
Yep, I ate in between, turned off my computer, restarted the game 4 times now, logged onto 3 characters. My points are still missing. Bah, it’ll get fixed, but it’s frustrating to go back under 13k ap just because of that.

I got that too. Basically, it means you earned a title in guild wars 1, which you aren’t supposed to possess, and the game believes you have it, thus leading to an error. Turns out that if you recieve this mail and you really have earned points (but not all the points), it just takes them off your account. My 30 points vanished into thin air, along with 300+ ap associated with it. It already happened back in last summer, after the patch where they added the recap for season 1. Dont know why it’s happening again…
I would so much love to go back to Elona! And if they were to add new races, I would totally want to be a djinn!
Your thief looks really deadly with 2 incinerators and the quiver, real hunter here! Very suitable. I’m not very into thief, but this could make me start one ^^ I would go for a 8/10
This is my mesmer, proud to manipulate minds and time, and to have worked with suspicious groups as an infiltrator too (shhh, that’s a secret)
Thanks for the replies!
And no, I won’t delete him now, in case I forget something. Now, time to work on those machined weapons
After seeing that I could earn an ascended weapon from those collections, I decided to create a necromancer in order to get the greatsword for my guardian. I finished all the story with him, and got 4 items for the collection : armor piece, weapon, map completion and invisible gliding.
However, I don’t enjoy playing necro, it’s just not my thing, and the greatsword isn’t even for that character. So my question is, do the other items needed for the collection require me playing necro? Or can I just delete him, and find the items on other characters?
For example, let’s take the invisible (class) mushroom’s spore. It is the same for every collection, so if I do this on my ele, does it unlock it for all, or just for tempest? I really don’t want to search that mushroom on necro, but if I have to… (same for other items too)
Thank you
Guys, Gaile Gray said the achievement was going on even after wintersday, so you can do other things than grinding it. Of course it’ll be a bit harder after wintersday is gone, but you’ll be able to do it.
