True that, but how would you distinguish an actually skilled com by game stats? Serious question.

edit: the only solution i can think of atm is introduce com points that would work something like this:

for every person in that com squad when active you get:
1pt for camp cap
2pt for tower cap
3pt for keep cap

very rough obviously, but would reflect teh actual commanding

Commander tags should reflect the level of experience a com has and be account bound, since it’s the ability of the commander not the char itself.

The proposed icon can be based on wxp on highest ranking char eg rank 1-120 simple tag, 150-570 extra line etc.

and this isn’t chest-thumping over a 60+ wipe over 28 people?? lol

So, the self proclaimed #1 NA guild gets hilariously wiped, realizes they suck, then joins the DB TS to figure out where we are so they can avoid us?

Numbers shouldn’t come into this if the said “28” people, who have made a reputation on “wiping zergs,” keep seeking the 60+ out and attacking them while they’re trying to take objectives from the third server or seconds after an equal-man fight with the same third server.

Couple of things on the second build, stacks accumulate on both hand/offhand if the sigil is the same so I’d use alt hand/offhand weaps for that. Also, MoB on dodge (works in plague/ds) and 10 in spite for retaliation in ds. Tag everything!

WvW is not about who can do the most dmg, it’s about who can tag the most people and condition necs can do that like no one else.

Happens all the time. I once spent nearly 2g and more than a couple of hours on a tower only to lose it while about a dozen of our guys were grubbing 20 seconds distance from it.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about minions?

I agree with a lot of the points the guy makes, some of them however, are not valid in a different game mod. In wvw for example 50% less falling dmg + poison cloud is fairly usefull, so is spectral walk.

I am a Lvl 80 nec from day 6 after headstart, been playing wvw since then and have already spent a hell of a lot of silver on trying to find a build that was not broken. And I mean literally broken, the obvious choices for synergies either don’t work or have such a miniscule effect that the only way to know that it even there is to check the combat log.

A good measure of successful prof balance imo is having at least the low lvl, poorly geared guys avoiding a fight with someone who hasn’t been scaled up, but necro is just target practice in wvw, everyone will engage on sight and chase you to the end of the map because they see you as a free kill (you can have some fun with it tho, with that -50% falling dmg and poison). For myself, I’ve managed to find a build that works tolerably well in spite of all the bugs and balancing issues and win pretty much all of my 1on1 and even most 2on1, but not because the class is kickass or I’m so skilled with it, the real reason is the overconfidence on the part of enemy and their poor knowledge of their class and controls.

Bottom line is, necro is broken, the only reason we see some success in wvw is that most people are just learning the game and we take advantage of that. If nothing is done soon, this prof will be dead in pvp and wvw within a few months. In fact, it’s dying now, in a guild of 100 we have only 2 active necs, and I’m already thinking about moving on to a thief after playing a lvl 14 in wvw for some time and seeing the difference.

Any known working build for Necro WvW?

- take a higher ground after yak interception, pugs would often follow you off the hill;
- pull ppl off walls in sieges;
- only about 1s gap in swiftness, with this setup; can go for corrupt boon instead, it’s up to you;
-gear is khilbron set with sup afflicted, 2 sup corruption on horn/scepter, +10 bleed duration on staff;
- lay marks, when in cd change to horn/scepter to accumulate corruption;

oh, and pop lich early in 2-3 on 1 fights;

So far, this has been doing tolerably well in wvw, I was pretty happy with it until i tried other profs lol With enough practice the other team will absolutely hate you.

edit: you would have to move a lot so a multibutton mouse helps; also, bind a look back key and learn to run looking back bc you can lay marks behind you while moving considerably faster.

How long did it take them to fix mesmer in gw? We’d be lucky if they fix just the necro bugs in the next couple of months. For now tho, it’s best to roll an alt, I’m already more effective in wvw as a 14lvl thief in greens than a 80 lvl nec in exotics.
