I’m only playing male characters, since I’m a man and I want everyone to treat me as one. Simple as that. I don’t want anyone to think that I’m a girl. If I were playing a female character, I couldn’t relate to that character at all, like I would be playing someone else’s toon.

I also find it irritating when female characters in games are usually oversexualized. It happens a lot especially in modded games. Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim are good examples. No, I’m not a feminist.

Um, you probably deleted this character already, but how old this character is? I would keep it for birthday presents.

I think it’s worth it, but if you consider using SweetFX, use GemFX. I can’t give you a download link but it’s easy to find just by googling it. It’s pretty good alternative and it has build in SweetFX.

FPS drop is barely noticeable.

I couldn’t make a character when in middle of the name was the word “dope”, I found it pretty funny. Fixed it just by changing “p” with “b”.

Get MasterEffect, ReShade, SweetFX or GemFX to enhance your graphics even more. WoodenPotatoes has good videos about some of these effects and how to install them.

That’s a good thing that we can’t fly in this game, gliding is fine. It would totally ruin immersion and world exploration for me and others who thinks the same way. Before I even started playing MMO’s I was watching my friend playing WoW and though: man, flying looks boring.

If flying was introduced, I would quickly lose my interests and stop playing. That’s just not my thing.

I’m going to be mad if Anet decides to give Emissary of the Mad King title and Mad Memoires back bag to new players.

Even if I have Synergetic Tempered Spinal Blades and used a lot of money for it back then when it was relatively new, I can somewhat understand why they are doing this for Living Story items which are not available or ortherwise hard to get.

You ask why? More story, new Elites, new maps, etc. Overall, more content.

If you are playing regularly, I don’t see any reason not to buy it.

Huh? I think Eureka is pretty good looking legendary and it fits for Revenant.

It’s very rare to find any good shader preset for Guild Wars 2. They are either too bright, too dark or does not do any significant changes.

I’m using GemFX/SweetFX and it works pretty well.

I got surprised by two Hydras when I was exploring with my necromancer and at one point 3rd came to party. I killed them all without dying even if they rammed me constantly, I really thought that they were harder than that. They are a bit underwhelming, thought I think they are cool enemies, but just too easy.

Like someone said already, those kitten Dust Mites in other hand takes too much hits.

If you are doing high level fractals, then you should be able to complete your story missions too. But then again, you know the mechanics of fractals, but not the new story missions.

I soloed every story with multiple characters and I often find them too easy, it’s fun and fresh to get fights that are challenging for a while. Everytime when the new living story episode came up, there was always people complaining that it was too hard at some point, but I liked it. Everything shouldn’t be like someone is holding your hand.

Like Confessor’s End at the end when you fought with Caudecus before it was patched, there was a Veteran Jade Bow with him. I thought that holy ****. It was not too hard, but then I thought that maby it was too much for the fight. But still, it was soloable.

It’s pretty much learn to play issue.

I found the way to the top, but I could just stand at the edge of the pyramid, since there was invisible wall too. Shame.

I thought that the story was easy, sure I died few times, but that’s quite normal.

What is making me smile or chuckle are not certain things in this game, but some random events what might occur or you might come across. Here I have some examples.

Picture 1: Some random guys were playing Choir Bells at Firthside Vigil Waypoint and they all had the same dye. It was hilarious to watch.

Picture 2: Veteran Mordrem Vinetooth was trying to kill Veteran Stonehead and Stonehead didn’t give a kitten .

Picture 3: Somehow I got downed at the same time I started gliding when Mordrem Sniper hit me. I could not do anything but just to glide down slowly.

You can only get one exotic chest per day from Tequatl.

I’m not going to post a wall of quotes in this topic, but I never said that you ARE guaranteed to get Tequatl’s Hoard. I said “almost guaranteed”!

I got almost similar drops than this guy who opened 100 exotic chests + 100 each other rarity, just one Ascended chest less. I did exactly like he did. Funny note that I got two Entropy as well.

I think that you have better chances to get Tequatl’s Hoard if you open them all at the same time, unless you have bad luck like Cristalyan. If you open your daily Dragon Chests right away and continue your day while opening any other loot bag, of course it’s going to affect RNG. On the next day you are going to do your next Tequatl, you either have or not have greater chances to get your Hoard.

Collect at least 100 Dragon Chests and open them all in a row, you are almost guaranteed to get Tequatl’s Hoard. I got two and one random Ascended chest, now I have total of four Weapons of the Sunless.

What’s up with these “GW2 is dead” threads popping up from time to time? Guild Wars 2 is far from dead, can you even define the meaning of dead game?

If you don’t enjoy this game anymore, that is fine, but it’s not a synonym for dead.

People have different playstyles, don’t mix these two together.

Besides, they are not the same people saying these things. If they are, they are not against the group content. They are against farming and all the problems it causes. Lake Doric for instance, dozens of engineers just sitting in one place and people who want to do events which can’t be finished when there is not enough people to do them.

I did Cursed Shore zerg farming sometimes, but I didn’t act like a jerk if someone interfered with Jofast event. I understand that people want to do events like they are supposed to do. I think afk farming is pretty stupid too. Where is the fun if you don’t put any effort to the game and just “mechanically” play the game and stand in one place? It feels like grinding in Korean MMO, kill 10k mobs to get one level. Just as boring as it sounds.

Since Epidemic is now body blocked, I’m going to find something else to use.

Plaguelands in other hand, it’s great alternative for condi builds if you had to choose either Plaguelands or Chilled to the Bone. With Master of Corruption / Augury of Death they both have almost the same cooldown.

I guess the best use for it are champions or bosses, since they are mostly stationary.

Epidemic is pretty useless now in group fights and highly situational in PvE. I’d rather have Corrupt Boon in WvW, it at least does something even it’s single target.

Is it? Doing dailies gives you 2g for 10-15 mins, if that much.
Doing a Silverwastes meta or one of the HoT map metas can take 1-2h and give you 30-50 champ bags. Take a conservative estimation of 15s per bag, that’s 4.5-7.5g.

Not to mention you could ride the champ trains in CS and FGS. Last night I went to FGS and spent ~1 hr there. I assure you, it doesn’t get any more casual than that. I ended up with 60+ chests and there’s also the map rewards (t6 mats, charged lodestones and giant eyes).

Not to mention you can go in Bitterfrost to harvest ~50 winterberries in ~20 mins. Every winterberry can be consumed for ~20 unbound magic, which can be converted to (conservative estimation) ~25c, meaning around ~5s per berry, ~2.5g in total.

I fully understand it is easier to complain, but it doesn’t make said complaints valid.

I would not call doing all that casual play, you must actually make an effort to do everything you said. And you must have at least one character who visited Bitterfrost.

Full World vs World armor is dirt cheap if you have Badges of Honor (950) from doing WvW. A bit over 5 Golds without runes.

It’s a commonly known fact that if you care about LW achievements, you better do them in the first week or so, after that the population dwindles so much it’ll become much harder. I usually try to rush them in the first few days when there’s still a lot of people.

The new map we got is amazing, it’s not too hard or not too easy and I’m saying this as an solo player. Personally I like the numerous of layers which some people might find rather annoying, but I like complexity.

Games should have some sort of challenge and shouldn’t hold your hand all the time. Story was solo friendly as well, I didn’t have any problems with it, the final fight was fun with that epic scenery. Overall the final instance was really well made.

In the cutscene Balthazar has yellow eyes though.

Nevertheless, he is pretty cool looking villain.

So, 4 hours per day, every day, and less than one set per year. From what OP mentioned it seems that it would equate to a lot of effort for him. Also, he seems to not be geared yet, so the best approach (t4 fractals) is not available to him, and won’t be for a long time.

Keep in mind that I haven’t been playing every day, I just calculated my average playtime per day / overall playing hours these past 5 years. And I don’t have any idea how long the OP have been playing Guild Wars 2, but yeah, Fractals is the best choice if you don’t have enough time and resources to craft your own set.

No, RNG does not work that way. You need countless of tries to get something. Yeah, some lucky peeps might get expensive stuff in few tries, but gambling is like playing russian roulette.

I’m casual and I have 3 full sets of ascended equipment. It’s not that hard if you are dedicated enough to get it. Average 4h per day playtime / 5 years.

Are you 100% sure you got all the baubles? When I was doing the achievement I thought I got everything, but still missed one and did it again. This happened in W1Z2 too. Dulfy’s guide is still relevant if you use it.

The only thing I noted about daily world “X” completion that you might not get the daily achievement if you wander off from the end chest.

You don’t have any logic or you don’t know how RNG works. It does not matter how hard you try, even 100 tries does not guarantee elemental sword to drop. You just got lucky.

I wanted to get Grasping Phantom Glider at halloween, but I didn’t get it. Then I had over 20 keys. But I got Mini Celestial Rooster after 4 tries, I had 4 keys from map completion rewards, then I got lucky.

On Reddit people were speculating that a small, moving AoE field was added around mobs (though they don’t know why), and that the mapping is messed up (either its not centered on the mobs, especially when they move, or its much bigger than the actual mobs are, or both).

Mobs definitely has large hit boxes. You can hit them even if they are at higher floor than you or behind the thick wall.

But that knockback is super annoying, I tend to avoid World 2 Zone 2. It’s nothing but pitfalls and fast, knocking ninjas.

These lag spikes are general issue, not just one or two people.

I’m using Greatsword as my main weapon.

I have Axe and Focus as my alt weapons for ranged damage. I’m using Valkyrie build so when I solo I need that extra vulnerability and quick Ghastly Claws for damage. Other than that, Axe is mediocre weapon.

I have 3 ascended armor sets from crafting (few pieces from achievements), at least it’s the easiest and fastest method.

Ok, after getting killed here for the thousandth + time on “THE GREAT TREE FLAX GARDEN”, Im done. I’m seriously sick of this BS, full ascended armor and weps, and still getting ganked by 5-7 wyverns at the same time from thin air, all attacking me at the same time. I farm this daily, on every character, and theres no reason why I should be getting rekt by these “Adolescent” Wyverns. This spawn of wyverns is the most F-T up thing I have ever seen. You can sense my frustration I’m sure in my message, and I’m not the only person who farms this daily whos sick of this wyvern spawn. The event should not be in the middle of a kitten garden. EVER!

I’m sure theres going to be people who say, your builds suck, well no they dont actually. Hard to defend from 7-8 full zerker wyverns all at the same time when they spawn from no where, all around you, and instead of just 1 attacking, its the entire Fing group.

Oh no, I can’t solo group content and farm materials and play AFK wars!!1!!1! Let me faceroll everything.

PvP aspect is fine, but it just has bad desing and it’s poorly balanced.

You can just hope that you are in the good team.

This “new map” might also be a leftover in China’s version which we don’t have access anymore.

“Lake Doric was originally a planned zone for north of Divinity’s Reach, but was scrapped very early in development.”

But they might have started developing it again for current Living Story and Caudecus. Who knows?

When scammers fail, they starts begging and name calling. They are either young or stupid.

I have Ascended Viper set sitting in my bank and waiting when I want to play with some conditions again. Right now I’m playing with Ascended Valkyrie and Berserker mix for the time being.

In my opinion both playstyles are still fun to play so I’d say pick the build you enjoy the most. I usually bring my Viper set to WvW and play PvE with more power.

PS. Viper was my first ascended set for my Necro.
