oh that i never do that junky Super Adventure Box festival do not like it think it should
not be in the game at all
Did you get kitten d by Moto?
Quaggans are from a biological, evolutionary and design point of view complete random mishaps that shouldnt be able to survive in any world. Theyre ugly, theyre annoying, and as a biologist i. An say theres nothing about their survival skills thats slightly optimal. Clearly magic has kept them alive because the chaina of evolution wouldve eradicated them by now
Ah, real world science. I like that!
And I don’t like Quaggans.
Missed a lot of LS1 events, since I didn’t have good PC back then and didn’t feel like playing before I got an upgrade.
Irritating? Yes, but that’s life.
You guys are unbelievable. “I don’t want to play the game, I don’t want to play the instance, this makes me want to stop playing”
One minor thing in the new map and you get this depressed? It’s really easy to make another elixir in case you failed to actually use it, it’s not even that hard to pay attention what ingredients you need for it. Like I’m super casual, but I still manage to do things right. I actually like the idea of environmental hazards in new maps.
I can agree that it’s kind of stupid (but is it intended?) to disable Firestone if you choose to replay the story for achievements. But once you are done, you don’t ever have to return to that place, unless you are going to farm those mobs, but there is easy alternative anyways.
This game does not have to hold your hand, learn from your mistakes.
Realising that I cannot make the elixir without doing a certain story step just made me rage quit the game (for today) after making some nasty comments in guild chat about the current state of GW2 and about the idiots that work at ArenaNet.
Design decisions as with this elixir are what makes me want to stop playing. I have seen the core game, explored all core maps with 6 characters.
If you have time to explore all maps with 6 different characters, then you have time to make another elixir as well.
It’s not a bug. Check your home instance, you should have a new pet.
Must be the grawlfirestone that i need i got tons of the other mats and still no option to cook elixir, gonna do some hearts….
It’s the one where you help the Grawl and you just need 1 / potion.
You need the same ingredients and go to Blister Cauldron again to make the elixir. Nothing else required.
How? i actually dont know how to do it or even start it without the story.
If you paid any attention, you should know how to do it. You need the eggshells, frostbitten suet from mobs, winterberries and a grawl firestone from renown heart. Then go to Blister Cauldron again.
Stuff happening in real life should indeed kept outside of the game.
Hail Primordus!
There’s more of us than you think because we don’t go around announcing we are female
And you don’t have to. We all are people who are playing the game.
That quote said 40% of MMOs, not the gaming population.
And I never said guys don’t play female chars. If you would actually read what I said I said that from my experience females also prefer female chars. Which means you can’t tell player gender % from looking at char gender, not if both sexes prefer female chars. So saying that There are too many female characters and they all can’t be played by females. is wrong.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7796482.stm
This is the source for that blog.
“The study looked at gender differences in more than 2,400 gamers playing EverQuest II.”
That is relatively small amount of players and it’s unreliable, this kind of research should have more variety of games. I’m surprised that they didn’t choose some random korean MMO with overly cute, anime female characters with cat ears and fox tail, lol.

There are too many female characters and they all can’t be played by females.
Do you think women preferably play men then? I suspect that women tend to play female characters more than male, from my experience of seeing what my female friends play and what I prefer to play, at least in this game. That statistic is from 2009 and it does not really reflect the GW playerbase
It’s about male/female ratios in MMOs and I think it would reflect the gw playerbase. A casual, come and go, cosmetic based game. That’s just the type of MMO for a female to try as her first MMO, or her second.
No, I don’t think that women prefer male characters. Remember that 40% is the percentage of the gaming population in EverQuest, not GW2. edit
I don’t know your gaming experience, but it’s really common for males to play as female characters.
(edited by demitel.1340)
I am gonna guess that 97% of the gw2 community is male.
Perhaps not: 2009
Although the percentage of male players may have been greater in the past, currently only 60% of MMO players are male and this percentage continues to shrink as more and more females are starting to play MMOs.As to sex of characters. I have 10 level 80s and 3 I’m leveling to 80. Of those 2 are male.
That statistic is from 2009 and it does not really reflect the GW playerbase. I’d say female players are more close to 10 – 15%, but that is just my opinion, just as 3% is duster’s. There are too many female characters and they all can’t be played by females.
Personally I’m playing with male characters only, since I am a man. Only games I have played with female characters are the Fallout series and Fable 3, they are singleplayer games and it gives some variety to try something else. GW2 on the other hand is an online MMO, I don’t want to pretend to be a woman and I tend to bring some certain realism into it.
I understand that some players wants some “eye candy” while they are playing the game, but it kind of irritates me how some dudes makes their characters look like a sex doll.
You’re right.
Sometimes I just want to travel to a volcanic island in the middle of the ocean to have a nice conversation with my old pal, npc #347. Then I get there and his hair color is brown instead of blond, AND he changed his clothes. It breaks my heart as well as my immersion :’(
I feel your sarcasm.
Personally I don’t pay attention to NPC appearances and I could care less if ANET decides to change it for whatever reason. Does not ruin my immersion.
“One Mad King’s Chest Key Fragment for every 4 stacks of Mad King’s Favor upon completing the event, with a max of three per day.”
Yes, I read the wiki too. What’s your point?
Bugged event.
You should get the missing key fragment, at least I did when I came too late for the event and came back for the missing part.
It was before hotfixes though, so I don’t know if those patches messed it up.
Yes its so special you hardly see it. In fact the only time I see it is when I’m on my necron because I have both skins. No one cares at all. No one has ever asked me what it is.
I have seen it occasionally. It’s an old skin, so that is why you see it so rarely.
And I kind of agree with Malediktus. It’s great that this game has some exclusive items what you can get only once. I have both Mad Memoires skins as well, but I have missed some items I can’t get anymore, like Wings of the Sunless.
That’s life.
Thats an actual thing, most online games don’t allow spaces or special symbols at all. So if he was new to GW2, I can understand that he might’ve thought we used a special technique to add spaces
Still, with a little bit of common sense you would have figured it out by yourself. Like it’s not that hard.
Just no. Guild Wars 2 does not have to be like any other Korean MMO, anime styled characters is one of the many reasons I avoid those games, besides being plain bad.
If you want tail, make a Charr.
this is not going to happen, I doubt Arenanet will not make a feature just for you
For us. Say no to furries.
I don’t trust anyone. I’m going to choose the one which will profit my interests.
Them riches.
How far? Hmm, let’s see.
1st picture: Minding my own business and looking at the scenery. Low graphics since I was playing on a potato back in the days. Taken 5th of October 2012
2nd picture: Little upgrade. 10th of October 2016
At launch I could not get the name I wanted, because it had the word “dope” in middle of the name. So I just changed P to B. It’s almost as similar than the original name
I know, right? I totally feel your pain, OP! I came up with a new look for my Necro 6 weeks ago, I need the Aetherblade Light Armor to finish it.
I even bought the Gems with real money. At this point I don’t even feel like playing without my new look so I’m playing an other MMO and I only log in to GW2 on Tuesday to check the Gem Store update, lol.
Wow, is the look this important so you don’t even play the game? Seriously.
I’ll just check when I took my first screenshot.
I was going to ask this same thing. I was there too.
That stupid golem would not let me pass!
I disagree, if you say ‘one minigame is free’ then people will demand the same for others. I found the wintersday jumping puzzle really easy after some practice, but disliked the pvp bouts. So when you get your pass on the jumping puzzle, can I have my pass on the snowball fights?
yea, I guessed not.
Look, I understand you don’t like jumping puzzles, but they’re a part of the activity and event, and to exclude parts is the same as completely negating the value of the reward. Everyone has someone they dislike to an extend to consider not bothering, but if we give everyone their passes, then we end up nowhere. might as well not have halloween or wintersday at all since there’s always something that will offend, displace or otherwice incapacitates someone.
I agree.
Reminds me of South Park. If you give up on someone and start censoring stuff what offends people, everyone starts demanding it. Same concept.
Jumping puzzles has been in the game since the start and why would they change it now? I was not able to finish halloween JP earlier years. Eventually I did, but I never had any need to complain about it.
I love your charr! The last pic is amazing. :O
Thanks man.
They are some of the most ‘metal’ things under the sea…probably.
Bloodstone Visage
Shoulder Scarf
Gladiator Chestplate
Chaos Gloves
Mistwards Legguards
Peg-leg Boots
Me ’n my Doe.
I love my Doe, even though she bite my foot off.
Angry little Doe.
I prefer bow since it’s more AoE than single target and I like Berserker’s Scorched Earth. Bow is pretty good with power build.
I still have ’em all saved as trophies, even the Candy-Powered Matter Meter
Ahh, my precious junk!
I don’t really remember a lot. And I don’t have much to tell, because generally I know how to play games so I don’t have those noob moments since I tend to look things up by myself too if I’m uncertain how to do stuff.
*I ran around with random statted gear with my Necromancer. I didn’t really care what I wear, though I remember getting full magic find set when we didn’t have account bound MF yet, but we had MF% on gears instead.
*I also named my Necromancer wrong, I missed one letter and later when I tried to change my name it was already taken. Now I have a whole different name.
*Played GW2 with my crappy computer and lowest graphics the early days. Tend to crash a lot, especially if a lot of people were present, like the fight with Tequatl. Now I can play fine with maxed settings.
*When I thought that the price of 20 silver / gem was high.

I never understood gaming on laptop.
The most of my character names are inspired by bands I listen to, so it has been pretty easy to get those names I wanted. 5 out of 8 are related to certain bands, 1 folklore, 1 game and 1 joke name (for role-playing).
Been previewing this combo in the Wardrobe for sometime now.
Then a few days ago finally was fortunate enough to reach Tier 4 during both Day and Night cycles in Verdant Brink to acquire the Bladed Chest Piece.Weapon is the Reaper Greatsword, otherwise Belinda Greatsword would have also been good.
You are Xiahou Dun!
Maybe some people likes that kind of haircut, ever thought of that?
Yeah tweens with no style.
Anyways that’s cool for them but no reason we can’t have both. Give them one and remake the others normal so that way everyone wins.
Tweens with no style? Who are you to judge the look of other people?
Everything can’t be done by your way.
Daisy Duck cheats on Donald Duck with Gladstone Gander.
You can’t complete it again, it’s automatically unlocked.
Necromancer:
Reaper’s Hood
Toxic Mantle
Bladed Vestments
Shackles of Madness
Bladed Pants
Trickster’s Shoes
Revenant:
Leystone Helmet
Toxic Mantle
Mistward Plate
Primeval Gauntlets
Mistward Legguards
Primeval Warboots
Tailor, the game.
If you want animal tails and ears, you can go to play any generic anime style MMO (or pick a Charr). Guild Wars 2 is not one of them, thank you.
I even bought the Gems with real money. At this point I don’t even feel like playing without my new look so I’m playing an other MMO and I only log in to GW2 on Tuesday to check the Gem Store update, lol.
