It is just as zergy in lower tier games just to a smaller scale skill level matters the same where ever you go mate, I’ll be back eventually to you lot because I miss teasing Joxri.

Smaller scale means less zergy. A zerg of 25 is not a problem. A zerg of 70 is. Are you telling me that tier 8 servers have 70 man zergs running around?

Why do we want to turn into even more of a zerg server? WvW has become so zergy now, it is barely fun. If I didn’t love SM, I would have already bailed to a lower pop server where individual skill level matters.

If you guys can’t think of why confusion was ridiculously overpowered in its current state, then you are not very creative with combo fiends. Here is a hint: Have your friends shoot through ethereal fields into the enemy group, watch the enemy rocket up to 25 stacks of confusion, profit.

2. This would cause a problem of economics, ie the rich win every time. Cant afford siege? No keeps for you, cause you cant get in, haha! No. The solution is to introduce a damage cap against gates, ie only say 5 people can damage them at once and after that its “blocked” (but any number of siege can hurt it).

You don’t have any badges? You can buy siege with badges.

I am willing to concede that removing the AoE cap might have issues. I stand by the doors should not be destroyable with normal attacks though.

Yeah, a bunch of skilless zergers want to keep the limit in tact because they are too bad to get out of the AoE. Big shock. That is my point. These players will never ever get good at the game, and they are missing out on a ton of fun by sticking to this mindless fighting style where its a good thing to stand in AoE.

A friend and I go to fight a group of 6. We down 2 of them, and we both go to stomp. The other 4 players still alive, without interrupting us, without attacking us, without getting the downed players to knock us off, can rez the two downed people FASTER THAN THE STOMP ANIMATION.

This is ridiculous. Anyone that thinks this mechanic is working is most likely terrible at the game and getting downed a ton. Don’t lose the fight in the first place and you won’t need to rely on such cheese.

Tier 8 sounds awesome.
Not sarcasm, by the way. I miss the days where a 10 man could get work done, either on O or D. Seems like all ten mans are good for now is ninja caps and leading the mindless zerg on a goose chase.

1) Take away the 5 target limit on AoEs. Standing in the AoE with all of your team mates is the best defense to AoE. This is counter intuitive, and supports sloppy gameplay. Make people use some tactics other than hit tab and auto attack while standing in a pile. If you are too lazy to get out of AoE, you should be punished, not rewarded.

2) Make gates immune to damage other than siege, like walls are now. This still gives gates a purpose, because they can be rammed/golemmed. The current state of the game allows for a zerg of 40+ to just auto attack the gates down in no time. This is pretty disturbing. Why even have siege if this is possible?

Change these two items and skill peeks its head back into the fight. The poor players that rely on the current zerg tactics will get better, or die trying. This makes the fight more fun for everyone. It is no fun to fight half the people playing in wvw now, because they are all terrible, relying on the zerg crutch. Give them a reason to learn and adapt. It will make it better for everyone.

I rarely waste my time trying to 1v1 someone, as well. Especially when it’s a thief that will probably spend 80% of the fight invisible, or some bunker D/D ele. It’s just not worth the time when I could be doing something useful.

Like chasing one guy for 10 minutes with 8 people then failing to kill them? Yeah, sounds way more useful.

I run a spec built for keep breaking and zerg breaking and some support. Half of my job is doing damage, taking camps, etc, but the build is made to break a zerg off the gates or smash them on their siege, etc.

If I were going to run around and just fight all of the time, I would not use this build, at all.

Making a build tailored to ganking or small encounters and killing people who are built NOT to do so is not boast worthy, really.

That said, play how you want. I don’t think anyone really cares that much. Don’t expect to be lauded for your ability though.

A lot. Bought all the jewelry for my warrior and 4 pieces of armor (who I rarely play). Bought some misc siege here and there. Have about 1k or so in bank still. Hoarding them now in anticipation of being able to purchase ascended lvl gear with them, if they use badges to buy.

An interesting idea….. i think I would support this.

However the big problem here is really the downed state which gives zergs far far more tenacity than they should especially when they are attacking a tower.

That is part of the challenge, though. It should not be easy to get those points, just doable.

There may have been some TAC killing your yaks in the opener over and over, but I didn’t see them. That was shadowmoon doing it, maybe we were just invisible so much that you couldn’t see our guild tags? We practiced permastealth for a week just for this tactic.

I was at first upset that we were not getting the props we should have for all of those dead yaks, but in hindsight, if you saw us so little that you thought we were someone else, we were doing a good job.

No matter what, some servers are going to filed more people than others at other times, except when it comes to the highest pop servers. This causes a huge point disparity to occur, even if the undermanned server is more skilled or talented. You can not be everywhere at once, and a 40 man zerg is going to crush a map, even if the 15 defenders there are really good.

I can think of many, many times where 10 of us held objectives for a long time against 40+, wiping them over and over, only to still get crushed by points because there are 3 other maps, and like I said before, it is impossible to be everywhere at once.

My idea is to rework the point system. I came up- with many ideas, and almost all of them had a loophole. Some way I could think of to abuse the system. There is no real point in me going in to those, since they could potentially be worse than what we have.

I did, however, have one idea that I thought would not only award points for doing well in pitched fights, but would keep people involved in the struggle even if we were losing all the objectives.

Rework the points across the board. By how much? That would take some work. I am guessing it would need to be a factor of 10 at least. Make every objective worth 10X what it is now, and each reward tier would cost 10X as much. A camp would now be worth 50 points per tick; killing a yak would be worth 20, etc. Now, add 1 point per player killed.

Group of 10 really good players come in behind a zerg of 30 and kill them, they just made 30 points. Still not more lucrative than holding objectives, but crushing zergs would have an effect other than just slowing them down for a few minutes. They want to mindlessly feed bodies into the grinder, let it cost them; let it reward the winners of the battles.

NSP vs EB vs SF 10/26

Tryble, NSP was not seriously outnumbered til about 6am eastern. Fact is, most fights we ran into EB was outnumbered. We won many fights outnumbered 3 to 1, in fact. Watch the keep video, for that matter. 8 vs 30 for like 2 hours. Thats 8 EB players and 30 NSP.

The real problem, as I see it, is how stupid orb bonuses are. Stack 25 might and go into a fight with 3 orbs and you can mow down any number of enemies.

The outmanned buff popped on NSP once. ONCE. This was after the entire map was taken and nsp left. When you guys have 45 people holding a gate against our 25 man zerg and we take the other door with 5 ppl and your defenders never react, you have a problem. And its not a numbers issue.
