I would LOVE swimsuits/bikinis, especially if they were dye-able so I could have a red one.

Unfortunately, I think the “hip/trendy/progressive” masses would decry it as being offensive in some way, or otherwise demeaning to women.

I am a woman and I am glad that I do not share THAT opinion. I love the skimpy clothing for my elementalist and would enjoy swimsuits, too.

i think the issue with this is that a LOT of people will transmute their default armors into swimsuits. Imagine running Tequalt with half the zerg in swimsuits lol..when you put it that way, its quite fitting since the fight does take place on a beach but imagine doing jormag with swimsuits

Exactly. MMORPG’s aren’t made for reality. If I had a dollar for everytime someone said ‘but this wouldn’t happen in the real world!’ or something along those lines… I would be able to afford a legendary. Seriously. This is a game people – of course you wouldn’t see people fighting almost nekkid.

With regards to the thread, maybe they could come up with some kind of OUTFITS for swimwear that only appear when you go underwater (like the aquabreather does). You would THINK that that would please both sides of this issue. Nothing immersion-breaking or unnatural about a bikini underwater, right? Well… until you go underwater in Frostgorge Sound…

AQUABREATHERS! THERE’S a “real” issue… they really need higher quality aquabreathers in the game… and a checkbox to conceal them, just like normal headgear.

I can understand that some see swimsuits as immersionbreaking. But I rather want to see someone fighting in frostgorge just with a bikini than no bikinis whatsoever.

Regarding Underwaterbreather, I think they should merge the breather with the normal headgear.

More options are always better than less, imo!

A gem store outfit would be ideal, not sure why everyone keeps suggesting limitations.

It’s warm enough in summer, usually. I see people in swimming gear on the beach, or at the swimming pool and sometimes a bikinitop near a music festival, but I don’t see people wearing swimsuits in the supermarket, or waiting for the bus or when going to school (200 mtr from my house) or otherwise generally on the street.

I wouldn’t mind if people did, I just don’t see it happening.

Walk around outside a school in a swimsuit and get a visit from the FBI.

To give a further disclaimer, since the advent of the wardrobe, I’ve had zero (0) access to outfits. So I can’t say with 100% certainty how much you can mix and match ANYWAY.

Cyan, if you haven’t already, you can take your characters to the black lion armor guy in divinity’s reach, talk to him, and get your old school outfits converted into the new type. They get placed into your outfit selection, at the bottom of the wardrobe menu. Just select it from the dropdown. They are not swapped out when you enter combat and simple replace your armor skins until you toggle it off.

I purchased all the gem store outfits to date, and I always kinda regretted doing so, but with the new patch, I’m glad I did. I don’t have to wonder if they’ll ever put them back up on the gem store like other people who didn’t.

But the point is, it can’t be something that’s removed in combat. That’s not acceptable, and for a very simple reason: it’s a swimsuit. And SWIMMING counts, in game mechanics, as a combat-like scenario.

Well, I’m not opposed to having a swimsuit available, but why’d you have to point out the (horrid) possibility of seeing it in combat?

Because when you take fall damage you get placed in combat, removing any costume, breaks the roleplay, obviously!

Yeah, buy the option, buy gear set configuration unlocks in the gem store, anything, just have it be available!

In WoW (hate to even say it), one of the only addons I used was Outfitter, so I could swap gear between 2 or 3 sets whenever I wanted. I had ‘town’ clothes, and random sets that were hard to get, (or such as full tier 3 which no one can get anymore), and I’d swap to them in town. They added the feature finally in Cata, they added the feature to the base game, while not AS good as the Outfitter addon (no hotkey swapping of gear, etc), it was still a nice alternative.

I’d like this too. I swap gear constantly depending on encounters and it gets tedious when you have a faster moving group and they pull without you, or start events without you, because you were in the middle of changing armor/weapons. My bags are always a mess, so it’s very annoying to find every single item sometimes, especially weapons, as I swap from 1h weapons to 2h and they get moved around my bags easily.

Not really sure what else to put as this is just a really great idea!

I think it’s silly for all the QQ on here. All of you knew it was too easy, or you wouldn’t have been running it 24×7. There is a reason you didn’t chain run TA or any of the harder ones, because they are hard. Oh man they nerfed Yaks?kittennow I gotta find another way to get to 80 in 20 minutes.

This is not WOW, stop thinking it is, its not supposed to be simple, especially in the first month of its release. You shouldn’t be decked out in full end game gear 2 weeks after release, I’m glad they buffed this stuff, maybe people will learn how to play their classes instead of facerolling.
