I can’t help but feel the ban on full pre made groups is going to change the profession dynamic.
Anecdotally, I’ve probably seen more DH’s and Druids lately than anything else.
I’m afraid the hassle and expense of doing that (poss daily) would get old fast.
Legendary weps can change stats at will, but not sigil or infusion. What sigil and infusion would be best? Prob might infusion.
Could be power/condi, roaming/guild groups.
I found and tried a dedicated boon share build (Chaos 333, Insp 122 & Chrono 332), and I’ve never felt more worthless.
Group up, F1-F5 =>Sig of Insp.
Don’t die.
Regroup, F1-F5 => Sig of Insp.
Rinse and repeat.
Boonshare Mesmer builds are meta for mid-large scale group compositions. Dom/Inspiration/Chrono variants synergize well with Mallyx revs whereas Chaos/Inspiration/Chrono builds are a more “bursty” approach. Both paths have their advantages, but it’ll most likely boil down to how organized the rest of your guild is at executing the rotation.
Is that for WvW / GvG?

Current meta for 15v15 skirms on guild arena looks more less like: 4 guardians, 2 revenants (herald spec), 2 engineers (scrapper spec), 2 necromancers (reaper spec most often), 1 warrior (berserker spec), 2 elementalists (usually tempest spec), 2 mesmers (chronomancer spec).
The squad is divided into 3 parties. Usually you put 2 guardians, 1 revenant, 1 mesmer, 1 scrapper into 2 parties. The rest goes into 3rd party. The gameplay on guild arena are is much less a pirate ship, because the arena is to small and looks rather like a point defense in PvP, so expect lot of mess and skill spam on point. You got little to none place for maneuvers, the whole squad moves together in one ball, so there is no place for movement strategy nor separate frontline, backline and focus party (which is a shame imo). You put much more into defense, boon sharing and condi cleanse, since the ranged powercreep builds after HoT can wipe your team if you do not maintain high survivability. Guardians are your party core, they give stabi, prot, etc. (of course you do not use bows). Revenants run glint and dwarf for defense, they give you lot of prot/damage reduction, fury, might, boon sharing. Engineers run scrapper builds, they give you smoke fields for engaging the fight and reveal the opponent team. Mesmers give boon sharing/upkeep and resistance. Necromancers run condi builds very often (for more survivability). Warrior of course built for killshot.
Of course detailed comps for different guilds may vary depending on the play style and skill, but this is a general comp to start with.

What’s the best sigil that doesn’t require HoT grinding?
All those new armours require a massive PvE grind, which isn’t going to happen from me.

GW2 was marketed to non MMO players. The catch phrase was like, “if you hate MMOs, you have to check out GW2”.
I can’t think of any challenging solo content. It was either really easy or just not possible (like soloing 5 man instances).
Adventures? What are they?
LS achievements? Are those the typical ANet achv, kill 1000 giants (when only 2 or 3 exist) or 1,000,000 yaks?

MH Sword in Power PU is for Blur and Immobilise, neither of which the Sceptre offers. You do get more DPS out of the Sceptre but Power PU is all about bursts, and the GS does burst better.
It’s not meta, but neither is power Scepter.
I’m wondering if you could get by subbing Scepter in for Sword in the typical power PU shatter build. (thinking WvW & sPvP here)
I’ll have to see if can get the hang of camp clearing on Power PU. Actual PvP may be my goal, but I’ll be doing more camp clearing than actual PvP (that’s just how roaming goes).
My observations were based mostly on camp clearing (just started PU yesterday, so I haven’t done that many 1v1’s yet).
I started with Condi PU, and I was shocked at how fast it cleared camps. Other than a full glass Ele, I’ve never had a build that could do it as fast. If an enemy player arrived and tried to intervene, I wasn’t terribly concerned.
Power PU was as bad as Condi PU was good. I had to use 2-3 heals just get thru a camp. If an enemy arrived, I was in no condition to fight, so I had to stealth and flee. I actually started with Dom/Duel/Chaos, but after the initial bad results, I tried Ill/Duel/Chaos (since that worked so well for Condi PU).

Blinds, you say? The scouts at supply camps can throw out a lot of blinds. That might be part of the problem.

How on earth are you managing to convince yourself that a condie build does more damage? I’m honestly really curious.
Edit: part of the problem is that you’re taking illusions instead of domination.
I agree it sounds crazy. I was roaming WvW on both today. Condi just seemed to do so much more damage, and I’ve even got more Ascended pieces for the Power build.
I kind of expected Power PU to out-damage Condi PU. Based on playing both though, Condi PU seems to do more damage. Does that make sense?

For Power PU, I actually started with Dom/Duel/Chaos. It performed so poorly, I switched to Ill/Duel/Chaos (since it worked so well for Condi PU).

Just finished a match where people were complaining about this. Final score was 501-48. /sigh
I left the game about 1 and half month ago, because 95% of my matches were 500-200 winning or losing, have they fixed it, or it’s still bad?
Still bad. 500-100 is not unheard of.

Experience with thief: Most of my experience with Thief has been shooing them away while playing one of my Mesmers. I played a Thief early on and really liked S/D. One of ANet’s nerfs stole my Thief mojo and I just couldn’t get back into it. Second account has extra slots, so I decided to try another Thief.

It probably was just a mirage. The very next match was back to normal. The other team did make 200 points though, which surprised me.
I just came back to the game this week and started PvP. I’m still in shock how almost every match seems to be so lopsided.
I came back to GW2 just last weekend. I rolled a Guardian for sPvP. I’ve had good results (considering my noob-nish) with this build: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Meditation_DPS_Variant

I have a brand new Guardian made for PvP. She only has 5 pieces of armor. Does she still get the full six rune bonuses?
I tried it last night and had a blast! I’m sure it’ll only get better once I get some real gear (Right now for accessories, I got a L0 backpiece, one L60 blue earring and the rest L80 yellow with no upgrades. Armor’s a little better, all L80 yellow with ruby orbs).
