Should the same logic work for next PvE raid boss then? I’m pretty sure Teq was flooded with WvW players who sucked at PvE and elite PvE’ers had to carry them. Elite PvE’ers had to sit in queues and overflows because of fairweather WvW’ers wanting to do Teq.
Yet they didn’t complain at all. They adapted and worked around it.

Alas, there is a difference. There is an OVERFLOW. You can still attempt to do teq. You can’t get into a wvw overflow. Hence the complaints. We don’t mind at all that pve people are showing an interest in wvw. I’d personally guide them through everything they know and impart my own knowledge. But I was nowhere near it, I was waiting outside.

Every match up in every league is getting skill lag. Anet clearly stated that at max population in WvW zerg vs zerg fights would have this lag due to there server capabilities. I’m just lucky after a week the fairweathers will stop playing and the game will become playable again. Tier 1 is screwed :x which is why you should have used the free transfers!

He got banned on the forums again. He never claimed it was difficult relative to a different game which may or may not have intricate rotations; he’s stating that due to the auto attack it is a difficult weapon set to master, and has a higher skill floor than any other build/class in THIS game. There is no RNG to using the weapon, it is simply difficult to work with. There are ways to evade even while in the auto attack, and the only reason you’ll get hit is because of your own inability or fail. Saying that you need RNG is just proving your lack of knowledge on the matter.
We can keep going back and forth between skill and RNG. I’m not though because it will get us no where. I’m sure most people will side with Brazil based on reputation but I would just like to add that he switched out of Ranger due to the “skill” required to play sword. I analyze that as he got sick of the RNG of getting stuck into an auto attack chain and dying.
Edit: If this game could disable auto queue then I would agree with him.

Coming from WoW and how complex the hunter class was I am so disappointed in Rangers in GW2. The class is so kitten boring to play and you can master this class in less than a day.
If you are looking for a fun class to play I would pick another. At the end of the day this class is really boring.
Maybe I have to try a melee ranger or something but for bows you literally spam auto attack (don’t even do that if you have the auto cast on).
What other buttons does a player press aside from auto attack in the zerg ET had in ARBL? A serious question, because I have never seen this kind of thing on AR, even while we were in T5, the largest roaming zerg I can recall was around 70 players.
With all the changes to WvW and the WvW league starting next week there has been a huge increase in WvW activity. Most people who are just trying out WvW for the first time tend to stick with a zerg to learn WvW.
On another topic transferring to a T1 server is a horrible move. You see the size of ET zergs now that PvE’ers are trying out WvW just imagine T1… you will be in a queue for hours once WvW league starts. The zones are also going to be laggy and unplayable. I think the bottom tiers with a large increase of PvE’ers trying out WvW will have the best experience.

To be honest i dont a mind a difference. What i do mind is the absurd gap like we have in GW2 now.
And no the difference isnt as big in WOW. I played wow since beta, been gladiator and whent 2200-2600 with the majority of classes. I know how that game works and what it takes to be succesfull.
Standard dps and burst rotations in wow have a similar a number of abbilities for pretty much all classes in that game. There is a difference between how classes land their burst, CC, ettc which makes a class easy or hard. But even the easiest class (like ele shaman) has a 6 abbilitie rotation it has to go through to do his normal dmg (outside of his CDs).
And there certainly is no class that can spam his autoattack and win that way, like we have in this game. Or are you telling me an ele shaman can spam just his lightening bolt and win?
Well….we had icey touch DKs in S5 (2008) i guess. The sad part is, that this game has multiple classes/specs like that.

Shows how bad the balance in this game is atm. Especially the balance between risk and reward. The enormous difference in difficulty between the professions. We basicly have some of the hardest and easiest classes in the history of MMOs in the same game.
How spamming your autoattack can destroy someone who has to rotate through and combine a whole series of skillshots. How a properly specced class can be tanky and nulify most of the opposing players dmg…..and still do just as much sustained as most random dps build players in the game.
An ele or engineer vs something as mind-numbingly simple as a guardian spiritranger or necro is not even a comparison. The first two take months to learn to play properly, while the later three take about 10 minutes.

There’s a difference between taking PPT seriously and getting kitten ed at people who shoot themselves in the foot and ruin the fun for others because they want the easy way out of things. AR is getting locked out by both HoD and ET zergs, which would be fine if ET didn’t spend all their time zerging against AR while they get their stuff taken by HoD. There is absolutely no reason for ET to be zerging AR, no strategic value, no fun, and you’re LOSING points. Enjoy your PvD.

I was going to make another common sense response but then I realized I’m talking to an idiot.
I’ve been playing LB spec for a while now. If they just removed the auto attack range and damage scaling I personally think we would be in a better situation. Right now it’s just too easy in this game to stay on a target. Auto attacks for 300-400 damage when I have full power gear, guard stacks (100 power), consumables (100 power + % power), and bloodlust buff (50-150 power) makes me sad.
Edit: With pets a simple survivability buff (immune to aoe and more toughness/vit) is all they need. Pets in this game are very strong if they could live longer than 5 seconds in WvW.

To HoD and ET, are you all lagging REALLY badly in EB too? It’s been ridiculous for us (AR). I DC many times per day, regardless of being near SM. Just trying to get into the zone from LA I will DC. I’ve reported this to Anet, but if you are having as much trouble as we are, it may help our mutual cause if more people opened service tickets on it (don’t complain on the forum, just open a service ticket about being DC’d many times or severe lag throughout the zone). Thanks.
P.S. I’ve had no trouble at all in any of the BL, this is just happening in EB.
I haven’t been on since the weekend but I wasn’t able to play in EB. Never had lag issues in EB since day 1 until this weekend. It wasn’t too many players lag either it’s something with the servers. Possibly why they just suspended WvW play.
Enjoying guilds like [GT] that roam together but refuse to fight unless there HoD zerg can back them up when they start to lose (which is always).
At least it’s an easy fight lol.

Just happened after waiting hours to get into a main server then another hour plus for the respawn. Never ever getting on a turret again even though I’m good at it. Instant crash when I jumped on it.
Simple ready check pops up kind of like an overflow queue if you don’t hit ready by the time the timer runs out you get kicked from the zone if it’s full.
1) Kicks AFK’s and gets in people who will actually be there
2) The ready check itself flags as a warning for the raid to get ready
Signets are crap. Actually, I’d suggest you to go for full Soldier/Senitel armor with Traveler runes (+25% speed and saved utility slot, not to mention other stats), Valkyrie/Berserker weapons(Sigil of Fire for LB, of Energy or Hydromancy on GS) and mostly Berserker jewelery(especially if Ascended as crit damage has like 2x better stats trade than on exotics), which can be further mixed with cavalier, but it’s your choice. You don’t need anything over 50-55% crit chance and your crit damage can be below 100%, you still do decent damage, power is very important. If you try to solo roam, don’t even try to go full zerker. As for traits : 20/20/30/0/0will give you nice condition removal and survability (remember to be careful if you take Shared Anguish instead of Hide in Sight trait, because CC transfer to your pet will eventually break
“Protect Me!”) while still maintaining good damage.
Signets suck. SoW is kitten without good chunk of Healing Power, you won’t use it for stomp as it’s bugge and 25% damage…seems nice, but not for trade like this. SoH….not worth anything, worst active skill ever. SoS… Not a stunbreaker, requires 30 in MM, still not utilizing 25 point minor trait.
As for utilities: TU, Muddy Terrain, L. Reflex, “Protect Me!”, RaO.

Disagree. Yes I use traveler runes to drop the run speed signet but you should be using 2 signets as a power build.
Stone for the invul against thieves/wars
Renewal for a full condition clear for ele, engi, mesi, w/e condition bombs
Last util I personally go reflex for more kiting but you can also go Zephyr if you want more burst.
To the OP I currently run invaders armor, cavalier back and accessories, and zerker amulet + rings. Zerker weapons as well and I do fine in WvW.
It’s not the best 1v1 spec but this is hands down the best group spec to play. Make sure to put the aoe fire rune in your LB.
Here’s some gameplay from over the weekend. First couple of clips is small stuff then hawt zerg on zerg action later. It’s only against ET, sorry Devona’s Best! Maybe next time.
You could coordinate your guilds and guest a low pop server. I know a blackgate guild did that with ET and they easily killed it.
This makes sense, we should have to guest to other servers to play with our home server…..
I know you are trying to help, but the suggestion is a work around, not a solution. People should be able to play on the server they selected as a home server.
You can keep complaining for pages on end they aren’t going to change the system. Adapt.
It’s a viable build but not optimal. Since your question was in essence the new WvW meta build? The answer to that would be no.
Also you constantly slammed gorath for never trying the build but he clearly stated in his first sentence that he has played it. All of his points are not only valid but from experience playing the spec. I had the same results.
Conditions are OP because they can be spammed at a rate faster than it can be cleansed. That is NOT the case for frost it can be kept off pretty easily making this build super weak. This build crushes mesmers though since they don’t usually run condition cleanse.

Don’t complain about boredom when you are the cause of the problem. I just checked the recruitment boards on these forums and half the IOJ people posting in this thread go out of the way to recruit more people to a server that doesn’t need it. Which is fine btw just don’t complain when you crush every match up because no one wants to even try when one server has 10x more than the other.
Season 1 is going forward as we described, however nothing about future seasons is set in stone. We’ll take a look at the data we get from the first season and will absolutely make adjustments so that future seasons are even better than the first one.
My concern with four leagues is simply that there isn’t enough variety at that point. I could very well be wrong, but we are going to try season 1 this way and then we’ll take a look at how it played out.
Why does Anet care about variety so much? I’m pretty sure your customers (us) overwhelmingly don’t want this variety Anet keeps pushing.
No one from the bottom of each league wants to face any of the top servers of said league.
