I don’t normally post on forums but this thread made me.

I have played sw/t gs shatter mes since launch really, every now and then I use staff also. I tried condi shatter and tbh found myself useless. I had a bit more sustain sure but my conditions did hardly anything compared to an engi nade spam and I have kittenty base power damage. All in all I was pretty useless in team fights, thus I quickly went back to power and was able to boon remove, spike and be much more use to my team.

If you want to play condi, go for it. I just feel it is pretty crap compared to power but each to his own…

Sometimes I like to jump on to IP shatter just for kittenz and giggles. I know it’s strengths and its weaknesses. Anyway It’s one of my lesser played builds and not my preferred playstyle. As such my performance on it can be pretty bad after chopping and changing to it, especially given I only like to play ranked.

I mean if I go with your reasoning IP shatter is crap because I dived on to it randomly “gave it a go” and found it not working well. To each their own!

Oh wait! An idea! My instincts, playstyle, and mes concepts actually belong to another build! Therefor when I change on a whim, if I expect what I was playing with to function at the same level as what I’m now playing with, it’s probably me who’s kitten and not the build! D :

I played the build for a good 2 weeks wishing it to work better than IP shatter, I played with many strong players trying to make it fit into comps, but IMO it is just a sub par condi build. Much better to have engi or even necromancer in place of it IMO.

I understand IP shatter isn’t currently useful at WTS level, but it’s a hell of a lot closer to being there than condi shatter is IMO.

It is very possible to beat thieves, if you using staff/gs simply hop on staff and pop 4 then 5 and hide in 5 when it nearly runs out use 2 through it, thieves don’t like chaos armor, then use decay for a quick stealth and use a gs shatter burst, if your burst only gets them down to 60% you need to practice timing.

I would say time to reroll but someone has to place those veils in gvg’s…

I tried this build and had a lot of fun with it. Obviously other classes can perform boon dispenser better but it is nice to try something new in pvp every once in a while XD

I have played a lot of shatter mesmer (basically all I have ever played) but know I find I am getting bored of shatter, I have messed around with all weapon combinations but I just want to find a new play style. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pvp phantasm build? Or maybe a condi build but I prefer direct damage

After recently coming back to my mesmer i saw this video on youtube.

I have tried to have a go at the build. I havent ever completely build crafted myself and i am trying to make use of any weapons/armor i currently use (because i’m poor )

How does this look? are there any changes you would make? I also have soldiers ascended rings and amulet as well as a balanced set for wvw raids with hoelbrak runes that can be used if they fit better.

I was wandering whether it is viable to roam with the mace? i only ask because i am working towards the moot and i would really like to be able to roam as well as pve and zerg with it.

Any build suggestions/pointers would be great . I am open to any play style and am happy to work hard to make a certain build work.

I am back on my warrior after a couple of months of playing mesmer, and am looking for something to roam with. I have a full set of p/v/t gear and trinkets (for guild raids) and am willing to buy more armor but i would rather not invest too much money. I also love the hammer play style so something with hammer would be great!

When you join a zerg/large guild raid in wvw how do you like to contribute to the zerg, do you enjoy being on the frontline, and if so what build, or do you like to pick people of the edges of the enemy zerg?

In my guild we have recently been playing a lot of team q with mixed success. Some nights we run rampant and win 15/16 games but just now we won 1/8 and left early :p. I was wandering whether class/build/tactics make a huge difference because we all have many alternative classes we like to play. So my question is; what classes should we have and how many say bunker/roamers/full dps builds should we play?

That’s the same as a warrior using a greatsword as opposed to s/h.. So I doubt they will change that…

I have been recently leveling up my engineer and i am currently level 33. I have realized though that i hardly use my weapon skills (i run p/p) and spend most of my time swapping between grenades bombs and healing kit. is this usual or should i learn to make more use of p/p?

I guess I understand what you guys mean by more functionality with a mh pistol but I love the play style of a shortbow so that’s what I will be hoping for. Another question do we have any clue when we might be seeing new weapons.

Ok so I know there has been a lot of threads about this but this is my opinion. At the moment what we mesmers are really lacking is a mid range direct damage weapon. Now lots of people have said mh pistol but what I feel would fit better is a shortbow.

I admit I haven’t really thought about the abilities yet :p but I was thinking for the auto attack it. Could be a mix between the thief bounce attack and the speed of the rangers shortbow auto attack. With regards to summon clone it could be a leap back and summon a clone that casts auto attack at your original position, like ranger shortbow 3 ability I think it is.

What do you guys feel about this, the only reason I make this thread is because I don’t think many people have really considered the shortbow. If they have I haven’t seen it and sorry if I missed it.

I am at a point where i have enough laurels/commendations to start thinking about ascended trinkets. Now i usually run a phantasm beserker build in pve, for dungeons mainly, but when i do wvw i run a rabid condition dmg build, sorta like the blackwater. Now what stats should i get for my trinkets? i don’t really want 2 separate sets. would rampagers be best? or a mix of beserkers and rabid? or is there another combination i am missing?

Journey for quip has started! have gift of mastery, 28 clovers, about 30 of each t6 mat and dunno what i need for gift of quip! I finished word complete today and i said i would now do a whole ton of champ farming for a while so i can really get a good kitten of it done all in one go to feel like some progress is being made!
