My guild’s name was changed all of a sudden to “Math” after sending a ticket GM Talon replies with a copy/past response, i reply to it with no answer.
We have had this name for almost 2 years, in the past we have tried to change the name because of the spelling, after a ANet dev tells us our name is UNIQUE and will not be changed. Me and my guild leader have both sent in a ticket (My guild leader send his with the original email from the dev).
Let’s take the facts claimed by the OP as given: the guild has had the name forever and they have an email from someone at ANet that said, in their view, the name was acceptable. Why would their name be changed at this time?
Someone reported the guild name as offensive OR (more likely) someone reported one or more of its members for verbal abuse or the like.
In investigating the report, a support person saw the guild name and, following the various decision trees given them, rated the name as potentially inappropriate.
Per policy, they consulted with colleagues who agreed.
None of the people in the chain were aware that there was an email from another colleague about the guild name — user accounts might be flagged to include such information, but guild names are probably not (if they are associated with an account, it’s probably only with the founder’s).
How might this be fixed? There is only one way: create a support ticket. I recommend it be done by the owner of the account who received the email.
It’s still possible the name change will stand. Perhaps the first employee was wrong to say the name was ok. Perhaps application of the policy quoted above has changed.
Personally, I think “Pwnography” is a clever wordplay for a competitive WvW or PvP guild. I would permit it, but then again, I don’t work for ANet.
Thanks for the feedback, but tbh I find it stupid that names that are reported for being “offensive” are instantly changed and not researched or looked upon. So that trolls can go out reporting people and get there name changed.
Our guild master had sent a support ticket to ANet with the reply of the ANet dev stating that our name was fine. But, to our ‘surprise’ they replied to my ticket first (the one i submitted didn’t have any proof of the message sent by the ANet dev). They sent me a copy & paste message telling me that “Math” is our consequence for us breaking the rules.
I hope we either get our name back, or at least be able to change it withour own choosing… [HARD] Math…… REALYY!!!?
This really seems sudden, we had this guild almost since launch -.-.
The thing is, our guild leader has an ORIGINAL email from an ANet dev, explaining to us that our name in no way offense anyone.

So, my guild’s name was Hardcorepwnograhpy (mispelling intended). And today for some reason that no one knows of, it was changed to “Math”.
NO notification
NO option to change it
And now we are wondering in the first place why was it changed??? In the past we had tried to change it because of the mispelling, and ANet told use that our name was “Unique” and now they change it without notice? WHY?!??!
After thinking about it for a short time, a question came up in my mind. According to some “missing” reset, it may not only affect laurels, chests, extra gold/loot/badges but also guild commendations if the bug is not fixed withing a week due to the weekly cap according to the Guild Wars 2 wiki.
Coming back to the problem itself, I’d understand if ArenaNet can’t just give back possibly missed loot, but it should be possible to give us back “extended” rewards. That means in detail that if I run a dungeon succesfully I get a bonus chest. If I run it again afterwards that day, I get another one. This keeps on until the missed days are refunded.
Either way I’d appreciate further information or a short feedback on the situation of a fix or a possible refund.
In addition to this, I am hoping ANet doesn’t overlook the fact that some people that were bugged for days on end, but somehow became unbugged the dailies (dungeons and world bosses). And act a if they were never bugged, and don’t give some kind of compensation to them.
I was bugged for2 days, but at the last reset I somehow got my dailies to reset, but I till missed out on the 2 other days, and I am hoping to get some of daily gold from dungeons that I missed out on.
GUYYYYYSSS. So, I have been bugged for 2 days. But today i was switching char.s while reset was happening (not intentionally) when i spawned into game my dailies reset and i can do dungeons again.
So to whoever is still bugged try either:
- Switching char.s right at reset
-Be in HoTM
-Or dont be in game..
I’m still mad for not being able to get dailies or do dungeons for 2 whole days. I still this ANet needs to compensate.
When this gets fixed they should mass-send every account mail with a small apology about the stuck reset and # Laurels attached for each day that goes by this persists. That seems like a nice way of going “Hey, we’re sorry we weren’t able to fix this fast enough, here’s what you could have earned if this bug wasn’t active.”.
I agree, i just tried to do another dungeon, no rewards/ daily chest…
I’ve managed to not bug out on this reset. As speculated, megaserver seems to be at the root of the issue, so I’ve made sure to not be on a megaserver map at the moment the daily reset happened. Might be just a coincidence, and a small comfort to those already bugged for the day, but it’s worth trying at the next reset.
- Daily: reset normally at 0/5 and I got full reward once completed.
- World bosses: finally getting full reward from them.
- Ascended ecto refinement: working as it should again.
Only thing I haven’t tested is dungeons, because it’s past 3AM in Europe and I’d rather not try my luck pugging at this hour, but I suspect that’ll give rewards as it should, too.
So I was AFK in Rata Sum before reset, which is a mega server map, and I did CoF Path 1, no rewards throught out the WHOLE dungeon accept 2 champ bags, and the finishing chest with only 26s and the exp.
- Dailies reset at 4/5
- No daily gold from dungeon(s)
I am not going to lie, this is pretty frustrating that I am a PvE’er and I might miss out in a WHOLE day of dungeons because of this bug, I hope you guys fix this soon.
So I joined a TA UU path, finished it and got no daily chest, I am 100% positive that i didn’t do TA after reset today. So i am posting here today to see if i am the only one that didn’t get it, or am I just crazy and actually did get my gold?

Jun, why do you keep describing it as ‘tiny bug’. No offense, but how would you knw if it was a small bug or not? ANet is working on other things right now. And these negative comments aren’t helping. This gift is the last thing i need too. It’s patch week, ANet’s support is probably clogged with tickets. They said that there was going to be a delay in replies. So why are you still complaining? They notified everyone.
Cmon guys, please stop whining ANet is working on it. If you were to scroll up, you would notice the ANet dev’s mssge. He said they are working on it. I know it been taking awhile… The gift of exploration is the last thing that i need for my legendary. And i am probably one of the first victims of the bug. So please have some patience, and btw this is the mssge that i got back from my support ticket.

I tried to do the trouble shooting, I am pretty sure it was the new patch that bugged the reward out… Praying that I can get the Gift of Exploration and finish my legendary <3 (Go! ANet)
Cool! ANet is finally gonna look into this problem! I already have submitted my ticket to you earlier thread of tickets thaat are 3 days old, but i can give you it again, it has some screenshots that show i have 100% done and that I completed world completion AFTER the new living story

I am not lying, i finished World Completion (got achiev/ last PoI) at 11pm Server time, and put in the ticket soon after (all at midnight my time) Tuesday. Wed. Thurs. Now. Thats 3 days
Hi Gaile, I jut finished world completion, just 3 days ago, but i did not recieve my gift of exploration, it is the last thing i need for my legendary, and i would appreciate it if ANet can get back to me, for this issue -.-
I am about to finish this legendary (after ANet fixes the world completion bug) but i agree, ANet is really screwing over engi’s.. Engineers have 3 option to which legendary they can get: The Predator- Only good for full zerk dungeon/ HGH. Quip- Ugly/ silly/ very trolly. The Flameseeker Prophecies- Little effects/ nice skin.
It is very disapointing, ANet should have at least given a fiery aura, or something that connects to the lore
Ok, if you are an Anet dev and you are reading this post.. Please don’t let those people at ANet Support, screw me and everyone else that had there patch day ruined by this malarkey. Please compensate for the Gift of Exploration that we have not recieved because we decided to finish world completion on patch day. I completed world completion, all PoI’s etc. And yes, the new ones in L.A. Okay, it might seem like a ridiculous idea, but might as well check all your maps right? But, i agree this is complete and utter BULLkitten.. It is the last thing i need for my legendary and then it goes ahead and buggs out.. Otherhand, it won’t to check all the maps
