At this point…I just have a few beers and embrace the fact that hotjoin is cancer. Unranked is worse on occasion, and my preferred class and build is utter garbage at the moment. Generally just waste time because I have nothing else to do.

I knew that was the answer. How do you fix this necro problem? Have another class around that doesn’t suck clearly. Sadly that’s how to fix a lot of our problems. Here’s hoping something in HoT surprises me.

What do you guys do against this? It’s like a permanent lock out from every skill you have. Even if you stun break they just dump another daze on you. God forbid there happens to be a thief around spamming daze as well.

I’ve been playing since launch. The best drop I’ve ever gotten is Final Rest off of Shadow Behemoth. I stop bothering pretty much.

I would be more than grateful to have our cast times cleaned up. In PvE it is irritating to miss epidemic among other things. In PvP the problem becomes painful. Hammer warriors perma interrupting, guardians to less of an extent. Thieves are only visible for 4 seconds tops giving you precious few options to land anything meaningful. Most obnoxious though is the inconsistency with our cast times. As mentioned dagger 5 isn’t some amazing end all nuke yet has a massive cast time attached, while other skills that are quite a lot better have less limiting activation times.

To the human female thief from NSP who completely rolled my necro twice between bay and garrison last night. Thank you for leaving me alone after establishing I couldn’t touch you. Makes it slightly less irritating that way
My gear is terrible being newly 80, but eventually maybe the couple hits I can get between stealth will at least leave a mark ha ha

I haven’t specifically checked on this so this is more of a question. On my necro I can’t recall the last time I took a hit off retaliation in a big fight. Do marks bypass retal by chance?
And to the general discussion, I actually like the way retal and confusion both work. Too much of the game already feels like a build more powa dps race already. I miss GW1 mesmers for this reason specifically. There is almost no reason to ever stop spamming your ideal rotation during a fight short of not burning big hits on blocks etc.

I prefer the new sounds myself. Now when u sneak up on someone in WvW they don’t here a screaming alarm whizz by them if u are out of range on the first attack or two :p Kidding mostly, I do like the new sounds much better however.

I would advise my fellow necromancers to just avoid thieves in general now. It’s gone from an invisible massive crit (which would could handle generally if paying attention), to most of them running perma evade. As we all know our cast times pretty well suck on most skills, which from experience last night makes it almost impossible to land much of anything.
As an example, myself and 2 other necros plus a mesmer tried to focus down a thief yesterday in a big WvW fight. He never bothered to stealth because none of us could land any significant damage at all. Even placing marks didn’t slow him down as evading through a mark triggers it with no effect.
That said I’m not saying thief is OP since he didn’t do much damage himself as he was just evade and evade skill spamming. Just don’t waste your precious playtime attempting to down them anymore lol.

Will the transfers instantly lock down when the server goes from medium to high population? Or will they simply be open for transfer for a week? Hopefully none of us hit high pop, but just a thought. Also does anyone have a score update? Can’t check it at work >.<
No, don’t over think it. Free transfers for a week to the bottom two North American tiers.
I don’t expect much in the way of transfers, to be honest. When the end to free transfers was announced, everyone was linin up to transfer to the higher tiers not the lower tiers. For most people, I don’t expect anythin has changed.
Hoping you’re right about that. There is an awful lot of crying about monster skill lag in the higher tiers going on though.

I’m not even remotely excited about another round of free transfers. A few things will end up happening, our very close fun match up is likely to becoming lopsided for one. That will suck if it turns out to be the case.
I’ve enjoyed being able to join a larger fight without falling into lag hell and dying instantly. Judging by how bad it got last night with the big [Mend] zerg alone, I will be stuck roaming around again hoping not to get rolled over. That said with the culling gone and the options put in, my not so impressive rig handles a lot better than it did. The increase I see in mid sized fights however will be for nothing if we end up with lol40+zerg all day everyday though.
This isn’t a complaint per say, just a little wary of the outcome. The patch as a whole I’m enjoying (though the progression skills are somewhat unexciting)

Allowing us full use of our abilities while in a “god-mode” situation would be problematic. Adding a buff on top of that would be overkill.
I wouldn’t call shroud god mode by any stretch of the imagination, even with a short stability attached. Even with the trait to slow lf decay most classes can shred ds before you can even use all four skills once. Of course I’m also not suggesting healing being possible during either.
DS as a whole just feels like such a random band-aid of an ability as it stands. Sure it makes a decent oh crap block to soak a nasty burst hit now and then, but it lacks depth of use. It could be made interesting and useful to all builds and playstyles, but currently is neither interesting or even all that useful most of the time. When people are using their class ability to leap off cliffs to save travel time, it seems like a terrible waste. This is of course just my opinion so take it for what it’s worth.

For anyone who ever played City of Villains, what if DS functioned in a similar way to the Dominator class’ Domination ability? A short lived buff (restrained within the duration of lifeforce) that maybe increased condition duration,damage, and possibly granted stability? The DS skills could simply be removed and you would have access to your normal skill bar. This would make our class ability useful to all builds and still keep its flavor for prolonging a fight through an extra hp bar. This would have to be carefully tested to prevent damage going incredibly high or making the necro impossible to deal with during the duration thanks to stability. Just a random idea that hit me while bored this morning. Thoughts?
