Minefield is broken indeed. Why? Because Engineer is not supposed to have burst! It was fun running with mines for two months after KR nerf, now I’m back to nades for the time being I guess.

Glass cannon warriors will be able to 1 shot Engi’s ele’s Guardians etc since boon hate was placed on the Discipline which focus around Critical damage instead of a defensive trait. Currently i can push killshot to 19.6k max, now add 15% more damage from avg 5 boons you see on this classes, imagine eviscerate on anyone running lysssa’s runes

I am, in fact, using Lyssa runes with Elixir X (haven’t touched Supply Crate for two months now, feels good). My jimmies are rustled.

Had the same bug today, on Bounty t2. We found and killed Sotzz(!), then was promplty kittenblocked by both Shaman Arderus (who refused to talk) and Big Mayana (trees didn’t give an option to kick). Right before this disaster we also failed Guild Trek Tier 3, because 4 of 20 circles were missing (and then we had to wait about 15 minutes after Trek failed and we were unable to activate Bounty).

Remove Spirit Watch from tourney rotation.

One thing I know about this map. A well played engie can influence the outcome of a match and a well played Staff Ele can do the same.

Can’t agree more. Elixir X especially shines, since Tornado can just throw orb-carrier and his buddies from the cliff and Rampage allows you to charge (skill 3) while carrying the orb to quickly cover some distance while having stability. Well-placed mine or BOB, a sneaky Magnet…oh, the fun!

I can’t land skillshots for my life.
I play boon-stripping mine engineer.
But as it’s been said – people brought HGH nades on themselves by whining about 100nades. So naturally “bloodthirsty” moved to our last resort. I dread Anet’s reaction ’cause I know better than hope for anything adequate.

I believe there is a sigil that has a 60 % chance of removing a bon on critical hit (sigil of nultification or something?). And I caught a bad link there.

But only the idea sounds really cool!

Yes, I am actually using this one at the moment. Nothing better than Overcharged Shot removing fresh Rampage-as-One stability from a ranger.

Well lemme tell ya I surely do love play unorthodox builds.
After the recent patch my variation of SD build was severely nerfed, so I was forced to meditate on something new. In the meantime I tried rolling different kinds of condition builds, mainly conditionades, with no real success. Then the Throw Mine skill caught my eye and I thought: “kitten, this is one mighty fine skill! If I don’t have a realiable source of stability, neither should anyone! How do I build around it?”

That’s how. It is by all means a work in progress (runes and sigil are my main concern), but is surely fun, annoying and, if I might add, (not really)surprisingly useful in Bounty Missions!

I am gonna be biased nad subjective, but I didn’t like the patch. True, Elixir U changes are awesome, but the thing is, every engineer and their mother already ran this or that variation of elixir build. I used my own SD build I had great fun with in pvp, pve and www alike.

Jump into the fray, unload burst, get out, bounce around like a madman, annoy the hell outta people. Very dynamic, lively, fun. And I relied on KR Super Elixir proc as 1/3 of my condi removals. I am literally heartbroken now.

add: I felt really stupid choosing Adept traits all along the Tools line. KR in its previous form as a Master trait would be fine. By the Emperor’s furry balls, we have worse Grandmaster traits than KR was.

Problem is, what reliable way of removing conditions bar Cleansing Formula do we have now?

Not arguing that it was a nerf to Elixir Gun.
Just pointing at possible uses and synergy.

To be honest: acid bomb itself should immobilize or at least cripple…

Group support as engineer got a huge nerf with these changes to Kit refinement, I totally agree.

You aren’t supposed to do any support in this game, unless you play guardian. Everyone else should just do damage, hence Elixir U changes to lure more people in grenadelixirs build.

Although I am glad for Elixir U changes (reliable projectile defense? yay!), will definitly explore the possibilities of ne Kit Refinement and turrets, I am still somewhat dissapointed.

- Elixir build were very popular already, they are (arguably) even more powerful now
- No love for Flamethrower
- No love for gadgets
- KR rework seriously hit my build (thats personal!). For a full berserker 0/30/0/10/30 3-kit SD engi instant Super Elixir was a very handy condition removal.

Still, we cannot say we are neglected anymore. Definitely a lot of work was put into this patch and I hope that we’ll continue getting much needed attention.

You can tweak your chat to show combat messages. That way you’ll see if you are hitting someone invisible and dangerous or not. I am surprised no one mentioned that yet.

We tried this fight 6 or 7 times I think. Grast’s bubble either didn’t work completely (rocks were just falling through it) or Rumblus got into melee with us (naturally, we were all standing on one relatively small spot) and pushed us out under the falling doom with each attack while killing the NPC with death. We were not amused.

Because he’s the class that Tyria deserves, but not the one it needs right now…and so we’ll nerf him. Because he can take it…because he’s not a warrior. He’s a silent guardian (no, not THAT one), a watchful protector…an Engineer.

The shared cooldown is only on Elixir Gun, Grenade Kit, Tool Kit, and Flamethrower. The Med Kit won’t block anything, so you don’t have to abandon it.

Must’ve read them notes with my glasses on the back of my head then, thank you. That still leaves Tool Kit as a bit of nuiscance though (I run 0/30/0/10/30 SD build with medkit, toolkit, EG and rocket boots).

I am now basicaly COMPELLED to jump every time I switch on my MedKit, because refinement skill on it is the most useless skill ever and will only buck up cd for insta Super Elixir. Acid finisher is good though.

I never touch the grenade and mine kit nowadays anyway. All I use is FT and EG, so this is basically an all around buff for me. I’m quite happy for once.

Share your build then! No more medkit for me :c

Slightly offtopic, but I really liked the way Thief elites were designed, namely Dagger Storm and Basilisk Venom. Thats what an elite should be, more like “ults” in Dota.

I can’t bring myself to love Elixir X. Its good, its cd can be reduced, but its as random as Throw Elixir S. I’d rather had a reliable form of stability on it.

Or, better yet, make it break stun or let us equip any stunbreaker in that slot, that would be SO AWSM!

afaik, you need a fine xmute stone. if you’ve tried that, then it may not be possible.
for me, knowing how xmutes work, I now have a lvl 80 toymaker bag and I regret not taking the goggles at char creation.

Create a new engineer character with goggles. Transmute it with any non-bound white or blue headgear using regular stone. The resulting headgear is account bound. You can put it in the bank, get with main engi and transmute with lvl 80 headgear using fine stone. Enjoy.

For me replacing Goggles with Elixir Gun in SD build greatly improved versatility and survivability. Elixir F bounces nicely and hits heavy sometimes, Super Elixir along with its Kit Refinement brother and Throw Wrench (100% Projectile Finisher + Light Field = good) added much sought condi removal. Overcharged Shot and Rocket Boots (greatly underrated skill in my opinion, also serves as my only stunbreaker) also take care of movement-impairing condis.

1) Equip MedKit.
2) Run to a point.
3) Bandages everywhere.
4) Laugh madly even if enemy tosses you around like a ragdoll, when he realises he’s out of CC and you’re in full HP its already too late.

I retrait to grenadelixirs every time I go to fractals (not so often as of late). Wouldnt even think of trying it in my usual (I wvw a lot) full glass cannon (berserker gear with ruby orbs) SD setup.

I wonder what they going to “change” about Tool Kit. All it needs are fix to magnet (which is Net Shot’s equally dysfunctional brother) and maybe a buff to 1 (speed is just awful) and 2 (cast time is about 9000 seconds).

I began playing around the time the Lost Shores update were introduced, leveled quite fast and started doing fractals. Until I hit fractal lvl 10 it was a total jam – several rares every run, chest in underwater fractal always gave rare underwater weapon for example, an exotic sometimes. Exploration also was good, though not so profitable. Well, as I made progress, I’ve noticed I was getting less and less yellow loot during my fractal runs and now I get a rare only once in 2 or 3 days (mostly do lvl 20 daily and then switch to alt). I honestly don’t have time to read all this topic, to test farming or to solo champions, but, seriously, something fishy is going on.

On an unrelated note, my main char is an engineer, which adds a good deal of spice to my gaming expirience.
