that’s why you do not run a developer company yourself….
there are bugs that come into play when fixing other bugs
there are minor bugs for the majority (but maybe YOU are the minority and say that they are major)
there are balance tweaks that can only be seen when milions of players play/tweak your code
and in the end as everything….you cant’ please everyone…if you try it you will please none in the end and you will broke…when people will understand that….if you are a so bright CEO why do not start your own studio/game/whatever ?
in the end the consumer (you,me,whoever) will weight the pros and cons of a product and will decide…the company can only create more pros and fix some cons cant’ and will NEVER eliminate all the cons in 1 month..cause is cost inefficient….
get over it…it is all around you…accept it or…..choose another hobby
Your missing my point. All that is expected…I even said that. Class balance, just as one example, should be just as important. They were so quick to nerf in beta and stress test but didn’t double check their work in some cases to make sure it made sense. It was as if some nerfing was shotgun’d out.
For example. I play a ranger. Longbow was strong and they nerfed it into the ground making it WEAKER than shortbow. It is annoying that they made the change without testing. The players did the testing and found out that the shortbow is still stronger head on even without the benefits of flanking where it is supposed to shine. SB is a condition weapon and people use pwr crit with it! lol LB has been shelved by many minus some of its use for utility it seems.
Why is it crazy for a paying customer to expect a separate team of class managers and developers to look into this and fix it within days? a week? Players do it for fun….NO PAY! I do know they have class managers in place but for w/e reason (communication would be great) These balancing issues are taking quite awhile.
if you think im the minority why dont you wander over to the necro or even the elem forums and read a bit.
i believe the developers after 1980 have lost their magic wands
too bad….

Most mmo’s die because they don’t seem to be prepared for all of the issues post release and fall behind…deeper and deeper until I am sure they have great intentions to address all of the issues….they just can’t do it in time before players lose attention and leave.
It isnt just the funding whether its B2p or subscription… but the management of those funds, the support teams behind the game, and the priorities of all those departments.
Id be willing to pay $15 a month or even $20!! (considering a 2 hour move is $12-14 or w/e it is at the movie theater) If I knew that the company that was behind an MMO had a proper sized team in place for post release to NOT ONLY take care of issues….but MULTI TASK in all areas that were important to the player base so they could be taken care of in a more reasonable time frame.
Tackling bugs, bots, exploits, and nerfing for the first 1-2 months of release just isnt enough and this isnt the only game to fall into that category. Players expect those issues but class balance and more positive and fun changes should accompany them. That should start day one and be independent of other major issues.
The best advertisement is word of mouth. If your friends are bashing the game or are actually positive but just not excited enough to log in and show face in guild chat….that speaks wonders and will start the avalanche. You all have seen it..if not in this mmo…others.
It is becoming predictable. I cant remember the last MMO that didnt advertise that they were hiring within the first month or 2 of release. Great planning. It is pretty costly to hire and train new people last minute when the clock is ticking.
Post release has become far more important these days and it really really annoys me that mmo developers aren’t seeing this and keep making the same mistakes over and over.
Im sure that this will be deleted soon but post your thoughts…

" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
PvP in this game disgusts me. PvE in this game disgusts me.
Pandas >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
Total waste of time and money. I wish I could get my money back.
There is literally no depth to the PVP in this game. WoW laughs at this game’s pvp.
WoW’s PvP is just a gear-based zerg-fest. I’m not getting how that’s any better. Please qualify your statement.
Um? WoW’s PVP Arena / Rated Battlegrounds is far from a PVP zerg fest. They actually test the individual skills of players. Not simply AOE everything down: Gw2
seriously you must be playing a wrong version of WoW PvP
Arena = 1 comp to rule them all
Rated BG = 1 comp team to rule them all
BOTH require a serious amount of time in order to get PvP Gear
zergfest GW2 >>>>>>>>> Arena/R bg get over it….
now pandas ARE released why you crawl in our forums?
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
i leveled my first (ranger:P) to 80
i know play a guardian :P:P
no seconds thoughts here, i still having a blast (but tbh i skip most conversations :P i want to smash things :P)
GW2 has earned a gold place at my heart among with UO and DAoC (and NOT WOW:) )
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
With the large amount of grind required for PvE gear and the idiotic amount of Karma needed for Temple gear I wonder why is arenanet dangling a carrot on a stick in front of our faces for a non-subscription game?
Why can’t the dungeons just be very hard but like non-grindy games such as skyrim when you kill the last boss or any boss you pick up his OMG exotic helm of non grinding.
Then, let the player decide if they had fun in that dungeon they just did (even tho now they have alot of exotic gear “OH NO HE DIDN’T EARN IT” shush) and not force the player to have to do it for the gear they want. Possibly change the dungeon system to each explore mode is a tier of difficulty with the last tier INSANELY HARD but completing each tier you get the tier 1 CoF exotic set, tier 2 for an even harder path and tier 3 for the professional only path?
Someone tell me why does it matter that completing a hard dungeon you get the full set instantly? Then you choose whether you want to do it again because you enjoyed it? you choose if you want to do a harder path or the same path in that dungeon and not have to worry that if you fail you wont get all the tokens and you wasted your time and it depends on your skill to complete it to gain the visually pleasing gear.
Noone probably understands a word of that but basically why the carrot on a stick when you can just rely on it being fun and that the players want to play it and you don’t have to make them play it.
Does anyone understand my small brained mentality?
if you call a 1-2weeks for endgame gear grind then seriously you havent’ played a TRUE grinding MMOG
what do you expect? gear coming on mail for free? seriously some people are…..trolls?
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
sorry @OP but i stopped reading there
No Real Reason to WvW
Right now, the reasons to WvW in GW2 are all focused around acquiring gear. If you’re like me, wearing all exotics, there isn’t much to gain. Karma, Tokens, Cash, none of it will really advance me in any meaningful way.
sorry but you are looking for a carrot to enjoy GW2/WvWvW or sthing….guess what there is NO carrot….if you were a trully DAoC player you should know that there was NO carrot also in RvR (and Realm Ranks i do not consider them carrot….).
sorry friend but i wont’ read the rest of the topic cause you clearly want to play other game

kudos @OP for his effort making this survey
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
I have been searching for a game that captivates me like WoW did when I first logged in back in 2006. So many games promised to be WoW killers and so many have failed for one reason or another. SWTOR should have been my end game….I am a huge Star Wars fan, but it failed me.
I never thought a F2P game would be able to own me, but I have finally found it. I have only just begun this game, but thus far I think I have finally found it. This game rules and I thank you for it.
Having said that…..someone tell me the negative things about this game. I assume it is most likely end game content since it just came out, but is there anything else? End game content can be added and built upon….other than that I am digging this game.
you know what ? the bad thing (as others state) is that….there is no endgame:P
and yes we all love GW2 :p and the balls they had to finally break the holy trinity MMOG thing (among many other things:p)
i feel you :p gw2 stole my heart also;)
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
i use both SB and LB tbh (i mainly WvW).
LB has burst ability (RF) + vuln
SB is consistent dmg
for both i use a pwr/perc/crit% spec/items (pure glass cannon)
sometimes i find boring the SB other times i find boring the LB so now my problem is solved :p
the tl:dr is that both bows are usefull in different circumstances
LB = Sniper/Burst/Some AoE
SB = Keep the Pressure in 1 target
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
nope i am not forced to spend either. The game doesnt’ force you to buy gems, but IF you want the “fast” route (gold buying with IRL Money) then you have the OPTION to buy them from Anet and both support them & be safe that you wont’ be scammed by an unknown site.
Or Else you can go “farm” :p
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
For some people getting rewards is an important part of their fun.
and there are plenty of MMOs for them
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
I’m gathering data for another little statistical project and I need as much data as I can get!
All I need is your level, class, and just generally how happy you are right now on a scale of 1-10.
Much appreciated!
level 80
Ranger
10/10

Also, if you can’t see innovation in GW2 then you are blind.
amen brother, so many blind qqERS that the only thing they know is arena and raiding.
" When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself "
let me tell you something
if you like WoW so be it, they release an expansion with Pandas that have no lore with the warcraft universe only to have success in the Asia market. GW2 is NOT WOW and WOW will never be GW2. Most people say that gw2 is empty and shallow cause of the no reward / no kitten system…. in gw2 you are the same with anyone else..if you do not like it you know where to go…
ps. and i have played wow for a good 5 years
I guess you don’t know your WoW history then… the Pandaren race was first mentioned as an April Fools joke waaaay back in 2002. It’s been a part of the lore for as long as the game as been around, pretty much.
go read some warcraft book and then speak
pandaren arent’ in the warcraft universe

i can say only one thing to the OP
Pandas —→ Way
because this game doesnt’ a grinding sense of gameplay with a strong kitten things to get you find it boring. i understand you that’s why there are other MMOs.
tldr:
a) you can WvWvW endless
b)you can sPvP endless
c) you can grind dungeon endless
pretty much what every other MMOs give you apart from the WvWvW

One sollution to at least lessen the annoyance factor of the queue could be to add extra maps that have zero objectives on it, and as such would merely be a large PvP map.
Take the Eternal Battlegrounds map, keep all the keeps and structures, but remove the gates and the NPC’s and the dynamic “ownership/capture” events. The three factions would roam the map looking for other people to kill. Holding up in keeps for protection, putting down siege to deal with zergs, etcetera etcetera. Mass PvP broken down to it’s simplest and most attractive factor.
And because there are no objectives or points to score, you can easily add multiple districts/‘overflow’ versions of this map, to accomodate for more people.
It doesn’t solve the queue problem, but it allows guilds and people to still participate in ‘on demand mass PvP’ while waiting for their spot(s) to open up.
Thoughts?
Would there be any real motivation for doing this (Badge Drops, point contributions, ect…) because otherwise really what is the point? I would much rather PvE, make money and work on map completion then stand around in a giant map with 3 zergs running around killing each other for no reason.
totally agree to this… having a map with no objectives and no point to run zerg vs zerg is…..not solving anything….they must either increase the cap (unlikely since the render problem will be massive) or add more battlegrounds (with objectives) OR promote (give some kind of reward to players) transfers from overcrowded servers
