I hate this, and it’s really what keeps me from doing PvP. Every time I die, I just see money going down the drain. Money I don’t have to spend on that type of stuff.
Death should be expected in PvP. Nobody survives forever. In PvE, it’s a punishment for screwing up, but in PvP, it’s punishment for playing correctly and is really a barrier to newer players doing it (I know I bankrupted myself once with PvP armor repairs).
Two things I’d like to see, people’s real levels and their achievement scores.
Why? So you can see who can carry you through a dungeon and demand certain achievement levels for running a dungeon? No thanks to the second one. Don’t turn this into WoW.
If you’re looking for the server that dominates in WvWvW, it’s Henge of Denravi. Of course, if you actually want to play WvWvW I would recommend against transferring there. HoD can have 5 hour queue times for it.
I just transferred there because I have no interest in WvWvW but want to get the bonuses for PvE.
Because the dungeons are ridiculously hard and the horrible loot at the end will guarantee even more people ignore them than are now, to the point where nobody will want to waste the time running dungeons? What kind of dumb comment is that?
There’s a thing called risk vs reward, look it up.
Good. If people who find the dungeons too hard stop doing them, they’ll stop clogging up the forums with their childish whining.
The reward for clearing a dungeon, is the act of getting it done. Of completing something difficult. The loot is just an extra bonus, not the main incentive.
ps: The “risk” of a dungeon drops significantly when you learn to play better. The game’s been out, what, two weeks? In two months people will consider AC boring, because it will be so easy. They’ll know the pulls, the fights, the traps. More importantly, they’ll know how to combo, how to group buff, and how do dodge.
Don’t pull the “I’m more hardcore than you” act, believe me, you won’t win. I’ve had no life since I was 13 years old. My accomplishments in MMOs would make you wither away and realize what a little man you are. Just don’t even waste the time going there.
The reward of clearing a dungeon is not “getting it done” especially when you spend more money repairing armor than you do from the dungeon(because unlike you, I play dungeons by sight and don’t look up guides for fights), especially if no useable gear drops(for anyone). Thinking like that is just asinine. If you want the “I beat it for a reward”, go play Dark Souls(which I’m better at than you, too), this is an MMO, and gear is an integral part of it. And in 2 months, nobody will be running AC. There will be no point, because the gear drops are garbage, and everyone will be using the better methods of attaining better gear.
What do you need gear for? There’s no gear grind, no higher level of dungeons. You’re not on a treadmill.
Play the content because you enjoy playing the content, not because you need some digital lollipop at the end of it to make you feel good.

Doesn’t change the fact that eles are useless in PvP.
I LOVE this concept. It makes sure that no matter where you are, the content is relevant. You could be level 80 and go to a starting zone and still get rewards from doing the things there(although they would be minimal at that point).
Although, I do agree that a lot of content needs a lot of re-balancing and is not balanced or fun for the level it’s scaled to, story quests and dungeons being the most relevant examples, but heck, even some overland PvE is really unfair.
To the the people who think they’re “hardcore” by saying they hope dungeons remain unbalanced and uninviting, you read the part where he got ZERO loot from the last boss, right? That’s stupid, why would you want that to stay the same?
And why would you want vanilla WoW again? That was an awful experience, it was only good because we didn’t know any better at the time. Now we do.
To answer your question, there’s not a whole hell of a lot of endgame.
And, if it says Salvageable Trophy, you can use a kit on them to get crafting mats(one of the few ways to get cloth scraps). Don’t sell those ones.
Oh god, don’t tell me this now…
It’s not a huge deal since the trading post is now functioning and you can essentially get all crafting mats for at or below cost. But yeah.

Is it bad I have a mental list of players that ran past me while I was downed and make a mental note to never revive them if I see them again? Because I do
I would say there are things like this planned, GW2 will probably have all the cash shop things that GW1 had and more, but they’re not implemented yet.
Get in and transfer ASAP! all the perma full servers are now open for transfer
Since I can’t transfer to any servers where my friends are since they’re all permanently full and Anet doesn’t seem to care, not a whole bunch. I have no motivation to play. I sort of wish this game had a monthly fee so when I quit when they lock transfers and am still stuck alone it would mean something to them, but they already have my $60, they couldn’t care less.
No, this is how most zones are. You’re pretty much forced to go to other race’s areas and to the quests there to tge enough XP to move forward.
Until we announce otherwise, character transfers are still free. So yes, friends can transfer to your server, or you can transfer to theirs. Enjoy!
What about if we need to transfer to a server that’s permanently full at all times of the day? How are supposed to get with our friends on those servers? It’d be nice to be able to transfer to these at some point before the free transfers end.
People need to stop looking at this game as if class selection really makes that big of an impact on what type of character you can make them. My elementalist is earth/water spec, I run around usually with dual daggers almost always in earth attunement, I have better defense than my guardian, can tank anything, and can run into a large group of enemies and drop a Churning Earth to kill all of them at once (after a couple seconds of bleeding). If you ignore defenses on any class you will die in 1-2 hits, this includes warriors and guardians, if you instead stack toughness and defensive skills you can take hits from any boss with ease on any class. You aren’t fragile because you are an elementalist, you are fragile because you have low toughness.
What you said is patently false.
If you want to use daggers as an elementalist, you are forced into melee range. And, I have 10 points into Earth spec, and still get one shot. I refuse to use a certain attunement because that is the only viable way to make an elementalist not outclassed by every other class in the game. That is not balanced.
no elementalist in this game is dealing 7k a shot crits are only doing like 4k with full prec and power builds.
A warrior with a crit build can hit for 25k. And still wear heavy armor.
Elementalists need to do more damage if our squishiness is justified at all. There should be no question that elementalists do the most damage of any class.
This isn’t really a new player question, and this isn’t a general discussion, though.
Yeah, elementalists need a lot of rebalancing. They need to have their damage upped a lot, so that they’re not getting out damaged by warriors, whow ear heavy armor and can tank a million hits.
It will happen, but currently, elementalists are very kittened. It’s too bad, too, because they’re really fun to play.
I always seem to choose the worst class when I play a new MMO, glad I’m not alone.
All the really active servers are constantly full. Good luck transferring onto any of them. PvP will never be balanced. The servers are just too out of whack for PvP to be balanced. One server will always dominate, one server will always lose to the point nobody wants to play WvW, and one will be in the middle. There will never be a 3 way close race in PvP that makes it fun for all(or any) parties involved.
However, I would get off any “medium” population servers to at least a high one before the server transfers end, because those medium pop servers are going to ghost towns in a month.
Ever since I validated my email, people from China want my account

Why is this? I think the Chinese hackers got a hold of all the verified emails from ArenaNet and are using them to try and hack accounts. I just changed my email and will not be validating until some word is given on this.
