I just logged in and queued for Eternal Battlegrounds. I say hello in gchat, I fight a dummy at Fort Marriner and then BAM! you got D/C.
“Oh great, I wonder what will happen when I get into EB.”
Unfortunately I will never know, since everytime I log back in I get disconnected at the character selection.

ANet, do you plan to do something instead of adding those stupid traps and oil traits? I’m seriously going to quit if something is not changing, and I don’ think I’m the only one.

I just finished grinding some dungeons, time to test out the build!

That was the answer I was looking for I probably didn’t look to close due to my “fear” for Berserker gear in WvW environment.
Well, time for some dungeon grinding!

Oh, I got both Kylia and Osicat to answer, I’m so happy!!
Not that I’m not grateful to the others answering but, we have two superstars here!

@Osicat: referring to what Kylia said, I really like having high Toughness. I had already looked at your builds (lovely vids, you are really skilled) but I was discouraged from adopting them by the high presence of Berserker stats. Considered that I am currently running a full PVT, how do you deal with the lack of defensive skills? “Attack is the best defence”? Thanks ^^

@Everyone: thanks for the advices on the zerg breaking, I only have some questions. How do you deal with the lockdowns? Some time I get stunned or immobilized or whatever in place and (also thanking my ca.5 FPS in ZvZ) find myself downed before I can even blink back to the tower.
Are the Glamour utilities useful in a ZvZ even if I’m traited for manipulation?

Hello everyone, I am currently running the Zerg Soldier build (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/The-Zerg-Soldier-WvW-Build/) with full PVT Soldier gear. I mainly use that to support my zerg while commander is on and to get some bags.

Today I was roaming EB with a guild party and I had to swap my gear to Rabid I had in bank and change my traits since that build gave me no survivability (no blink, decoy or torch stealth) and I was actually doing NO damage.

Now here comes the question: is there an all-round WvW build that gives decent survivability and damage output both in zerg and small groups roaming?

Hey there, great build I’ve been running this for a while, but I find myself much more at ease using a Greatsword.

With this build the only things you get from Staff are #3 and #5, #1 suffers from lack of +Condition Damage and the DPS even Chaos Storm does is really poor.
With Greatsword you can actually spam #1 for tagging, as you get a lot of enemies in the beam in a zerg situation, and the iZerker fixed or not is just great used in combination with iWarden. I also find #5 quite useful

I picked Dueling II Phantasmal Fury instead of Retaliatory Shield since I don’t find myself using Scepter #2 that much, I really use it more for the ranged autoattack it has which is quite good for tagging. Chaos Chaotic Dampening became really useless as I wasn’t using a Staff anymore so I spent those 10 points in Illusions X Phantasmal Haste so I can spam more Phantasms.

Hey, two questions

- Is Illusions III “Compounding Power” viable or does the 3% damage apply to direct damage only? If it were for condition damage too, a 9% increase wouldn’t be too bad instead of the Reflection on Distortion one !

-What’s the balance between Rabid and Carrion gear? Right now I’m full Rabid, and as you said I think the weapons are better being Rabid stats. What about the trinkets?

As an ex-Rabid mesmer, thank you for sharing this
Some thoughts:
- Blink is another stun breaker, and it can come really in handy in situation like those you describe. Stealth + Blink is confusing for enemies. You can actually swap that with Veil, I always disliked Veil in a solo situation as for its huge cooldown.
- Berserker gear wouldn’t make you last that long. I am farming a SE/CoF (Knight/Zerk) right now, as I wanted to go Zerker too, but the lack of Toughness coming from Rabid gear made me think.

I’d also nerf the staff, and yeah, let’s nerf the greatsword. Oh, almost forgot, let’s nerf sword and pistol, they are too powerful.

Scepter is fine.

You just have to wait until we will be vs. Vabbi and FoW again. (Not long thanks to our german friends)

So, what the hell? Dzagonur obviously doesn’t belong in T8, seems like they’ve come here to practice their uber plans. (I.E. they almost got a keep once, they broke both gates and then suddenly retreated, let us recover and then attack again with another strategy)
It’s not bothering me that much, since they leave our part of EB alone and they won’t own us as much as they could, I’d just like to understand what the hell are you doing down here!
Also, if you don’t mind, would you not bully Blacktide only? We’re last in points at the moment and I don’t want to be with Vabbi and Fissure of Woe again, that’s just boring and pointless.
